Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Well, seeing as my last post about trying to catch up was two weeks ago and I haven't been able to since then, it's become evident that I'm not going to have the time to keep up with you all this semester. I don't know about next semester or anything after that.

I really do love this campaign, and I really love being Flint. If there's any way I could stay in the background as an NPC until I can get a better handle on my life, I'd really prefer that to simple having to say goodbye. Either way, thank you so much for giving me the chance to play in this world and putting up with my absence.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Hey guys. I'm really sorry about the disappearing. I have to take 18 hours this semester to MAYBE be on time to graduate, and it's also possibly my last year, so I'm doing probably too much stuff on too of it. I never really got back into it after the boards all went crazy.

If you'll still have me, would it be possible to get a quick catch up on stuff?

Something is wrong. There's a bunch of forums and stuff. What happened to AngryRatFixingGun.com? Who are you people? Where is the rat?

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Holy stuff we're back.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint graciously accepts the coins that come his way with many polite bows and nods of the head, accepting the coins with both hands as he was taught was proper.
He feels a bit bad accepting what he feels like charity to a point, but knows this is the most coin he's seen in far too long. He pockets the amount with intention to spot the group and maybe patronize the place a but more later.

Flint goes about his day doing his usual job of climbing trees and felling branches and obstacles, trying to kill any squirrels or game birds that might come his way in the boughs to supply for Randu that night.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5Prof Lumberjack
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10Survival

When it comes time for the gavel to make his announcement, Flint is present amongst the crowd in that surprisingly unassuming way he can be with his erveryman straw hat tipped low.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint follows in the midst of the group, ever the quiet pragmatist. It was better if people didn't know he was involved with anything at all, but he gets the feeling that would be increasingly unlikely in the company he's been keeping.

He seems a little surprised when Tock requests the patrons to turn out pockets. He was under the impression a voluntary collection had already been taken. He can't deny he needs the money, but he also knows everyone here probably did too. Well, maybe not as much if they were here instead of at work...

I usually try to stay sharp, but all of this bird business is starting to get me that feeling too. I'm still not entirely sure what to make of the whole thing. He just starts showing up everywhere all of a sudden.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint uses the confusion of people scattering to clear back out of the group, returning to his usual nonchalant stance a ways away from the going son to appear interested but uninvolved.

He smirks a little bit, still unsure of what to make of this bird man.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Someone make some shadow puppets onto a cloud.

(How do they even signal Batman during the day?)

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Instead of the direct approach everyone else seems to be taking, Flint tilts his hat down and gets lost in the crowd.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16Disguise
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20Stealth
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25Diplomacy

He slips in amongst the crowd and acts like anyone else just there for the same reason, moving through in the flow of people shifting and changing position to get a better view, quietly planting ideas that are hard to determine who in the crowd said.
"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea." "We can trust the sherriff, can't we?" "I don't think it's our job to take the law into our own hands..."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Know Local

"There was a fight the other day. They mean to kill this man before the sherriff can find out what really happened."

He seems hesitant, unsure of what to do next...

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I really need a hat of disguise as soon as possible.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint politely stacks his dishes and returns them to the counter.

"Yes, definitely."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint tends to fade into the background of things out of habit, and has been sitting quietly and eating the breakfast he thanked Rrruh profusely for and will pay for once they visit their benefactor at the bar.

"The people need governing, but more importantly, the people need their own choice in who does it. All of you can run, but it's not our job to tell people who to vote for. All we need to do is make it a fair run. We can make this town a better, safer place, but it's going to take the town deciding they want that enough to stand up to Kreed for it."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Did we get any money for last night? I'm not really gonna have much reason to keep Flint at the inn if I don't have any money for food.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

The smaller cat gives a full body shudder that bristles his hair from top to bottom at the mention of the stuff.

For some, it's better than nothing at all.

Truth be told, Flint is starting to feel like he needs a drink with how everyone he's become involved with seems incapable of keeping one simple half truth that could get them all killed secret, but he also knows at least one of them needs to stay sober in case the issue arrives sooner rather than later.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint speaks to the green fey in Sylvan in his usual way that makes it seem like he's doing it out of courtesy, but really it's to make sure only the recipient understands.

Sylvan:
"Please don't say that out loud, little green one. We're trying to make people believe that it was just us and the snake, remember?"

Flint shudders at the mention of the "wine," having only made that mistake once, but still regretting it.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

There goes any tact we had. Hopefully everyone is too drunk to hear that.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint keeps himself scarce during the proceedings, not actually trying to hide, but definitely not being the center of attention. The more it looked like he was just a bystander, the better.
He stays with the rest of the group while Randu returns to camp, and seemingly made the right choice judging by the meal there. He'll put up his silver in exchange for tonight's meal.

When the party is by themselves, Flint will lean in and whisper quietly to Jack.

"Some weird guy showed up while we were out looking for the snake. He talked about you like he knew you. I think you should keep your body guard close, just in case. He'll tell you how things went with the snake later tonight."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Wasn't it a guy in town that promised to pay us?

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

On the way back before they start to encounter people, Flint makes sure everyone has the story straight in case it comes up.

"Ok, two of them ran off which means we had witnesses. All of us except for the bird guy were hiding at that point and the snake scared them off, so they should think he's working alone. When we all got there, all we found was another group sent after the snake that got killed. There were no thugs, just a hunting party that was dead when we got there. We took out the snake, and brought it back for the reward. We aren't looking to harvest that area. Make sure we mention that. It may not be safe, but until we get outed for anything, Randu and I should keep up appearances at the logging camp. If anything happens, I will take you up on your offer, Mr. Krogge. For now, we're just some local loggers and some tourists stopping in town who happened to be equipped to hunt down the snake."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Please don't take Flint's attitude towards vigilanteism personally. He's just a ninja, and he's very direct about how he does things. I like Jack as a character, and I think he's interesting, but he and Flint have very different ideas about how things should be done.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint is a little surprised by the offer. He gives a low bow to the Half-Orc as he calms himself.
"Thank you very much Mister Krogge. I will do my best to do anything I can to help you in return."
He looks to the 'Blue Corvus' with a but more resolve than he had before.
"I have come to be very fond, not of this town, but of her people. There are many good and honest ones here, and I will do anything I can to help them. You are too obvious in your methods, and maybe in over your head, but I trust that you have their best interest at heart. I will do all I can to help you as well, Mister Corvus."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint still seems unnerved by the thugs sent after them. It meant that someone had it out for him, and that wasn't good with how much he stuck out.

"I'm not sure if I can stay at the lumber lodge any more. It's not secure. We the crew have a certain amount of honor, but I'm not sure what anyone would do if he thought there would be enough pay in it to get out of here. My savings amount to one silver, and that's an improvement since this morning."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Disgusting place. Never been inside. Could catch diseases just looking at the place. It's just a front to explain where he gets his money from.

Flint cuts the man's ropes with his kamas. Snakes couldn't tie people up.

"Go. And if any of yours so much as look at me funny I will hunt you down and make you wish we'd killed you now."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

"Wait, don't you think you're putting all of us in danger letting him go? I don't know about you all, but we're the only two black cat people around here, and I don't really want to get killed in the middle of the night. You're to obvious about all of this. There's enough of a message in none of them coming back, but it leaves us out of the clear. Maybe the snake killed them all. I can't get this pinned on me."

Flint nervously works his paws through some exact motions as he speaks.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Sense Motive
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25Know Local

Flint is willing to believe anything the man says, despite knowing who it is he's working for.

Kreed has to have it out for us, but why? We were just taking care of this snake so they can start logging here. It doesn't make any sense...

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25Know Nobility
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9Sense Motive

Flint still isn't super sure who the Blue Corvus is or why he seems to know Jack.

This is Dwarven Steel. You can tell by the markings. This is the seal of one of the smaller clans of Tar Khadurrm. Maybe one of their younger descendants, but still very good steel. I hope you honor his memory in using it and slaying the wyrm.

Flint turns his attention to the prostrate thug, tying his arms perpendicular behind his back with chord to make sure he doesn't try anything.

Well, that explains you, Corvus, but I'm still waiting on answers from our friend here. Who sent you, Scum?

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

As soon as the serpent is subdued, Flint is immediately back next to the thug, kamas in hand. Someone is is in for questioning immediately after. He isn't comfortable with the bird man knowing more about his group than he did about him.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

"Leave him alive! He has questions to answer.

He turns back to the fleeing thug on the ground quickly.

"I am much faster than you. If you so much as move, I will hunt you down like an animal.

He then runs back and stays at a ten foot distance, hopefully flanking with someone as he slings his chain scythe back towards the serpent.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 to hit
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 damage

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

You will stay and answer for your actions!

Flint yanks his Kama back out from the would be assassin and sprints across the field past Jack and slings it once more at the escaping thug, but at his feet instead, intending to trip him.

Killing for coin makes you no better than the slave drivers working us into the dirt.

Putting me two under the little shrub puts me just in range.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

It doesn't give him the position he'd like to be more effective, but Flint slings his chain scythe at the would be assassin anyways.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I still have two turns worth of double move, and can't change the map. Can someone put me 10 feet away from the guy that stabbed Rrruh? Preferably either flanking or such that I can get Sneak on him still.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint quietly drops out of the tree and moves around the outside edge to the right.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint moves in around the tree clockwise to close in around the thugs, keeping quiet.
I can't edit the map on my phone. I've got a 10ft climb speed, but is that the one I use if I'm moving laterally? I suppose just move me as far around up and left as you rule I can go.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint will stay where he is and wait for the right moment. If they wait long enough, one of their problems may solve the other.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint will remain silent in his perch, chain scythe in paw, waiting for what will happen. He says nothing, but he knows at once none of these were any of his comrades. The lumberjacks may be down on funds, but nothing would make a true member of his family turn to petty murder. They deserved what was coming to them.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint quietly darts up a tree as the two seem to be intent on sicking the dragon on whoever was following them. He wasn't sure if they should be so quick to, as they didn't know who was following them or if they had I'll intent, but Flint didn't intend to be seen by the dragon or in the way of wherever Rrruh was taking it.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint also stays alert, ears on a swivel as he listens for any animal sounds. Even his civilian clothes were designed with stealth in mind, the same dark green and brown tones of the forest, making for passable camoflage. He sees easily through even dim undergrowth with his cat eyes, keeping his chain scythes close at paw. They were made for taking tree limbs down, but Flint knows he can dismember other things when necessary.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7Perception
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21Stealth

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint prepares his things and tries his best to remember where Darkwood is from. He mostly just clears branches and hazards.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4Prof Lumberjack

Flint isn't entirely sure what Darkwood even is right this second...

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

"I'll stay here and run to meet you on the way if anything changes or to see if he says anything."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I like that, but it is limited to specifically /that/ weapon. As in the actual heirloom. You can't use anything better, and you can't upgrade it unless you use Masterwork Transformation.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I've never really found a third trait I wanted bad enough to take a drawback.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint meets up with the rest of the group in his regular attire with his backpack as well. He already spoke with his manager about needing to take the day to hopefully bring down the scourge of the camp, imperatively stating that it was his job to keep his people safe, and that included this too.

When the group meets up and they get within hearing distance of the camp, he gets a little bit less enthusiastic.

"I... I really hope we can handle this..."

Nonetheless, he continues on towards the lodging with the others, hoping they can find something out.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Flint will have quietly abstained from ordering any food.

"If that's all, I suppose Randu and I will be headed back to our quarters. You can follow the road to the main logging camp tomorrow, and we'll meet you there after sun up. I'll ask around about Ben's condition tonight."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I definitely know where that is. When do we want to leave?

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10 SM

The catfolk nods.

I should be able to help you find the place. Anything to keep my town safe.

He speaks rather matter of factly, and it's evident that he cares a lot about his fellow loggers, and possibly is even beginning to take a liking to his 'tourists.'

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Wouldn't you have asked that in catfolk?

Flint responds in catfolk, making sure not to use any words or names whose meanings could be understood in Common.

Catfolk:
Owner of the bar in town, by the gates to the palisades. He works with the gavel. Not the least shady person in town by far.

He keeps a very casual tone as though they were just having a conversation about nothing in particular.
"Not that I know of. Maybe Jack was?" he says, looking to their resident dandy.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

I'm gonna roll know local here, if that's alright so I can post once in response in game.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Or if it's Nobility, that's the same bonus.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

Catfolk:
"Jack-a-Napes is the more tame place in town. I prefer it, but if you're looking for a real lively tavern, The Sitting Duck is closer to the entrance to town. I'm usually willing to walk the rest of the way here to not deal with the really drunk ones."

The cat gives an appreciate nod and says his thanks for the drink.

Catfolk:
"I'll return the favor next I can. Maybe I could show you and your friends around town tomorrow as thanks. I think I've seen the one he calls a body guard around here before, but I'm not sure he'll know the place like I do."

"Oh, you won't have to worry about that, Mr. Jack. If anything, you're more likely to be escorted up to the mansion. Kreed and his don't tend to socialize down here much."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1 (HP: 7/7)

After patting his pockets and realizing that he doesn't have any money, but being too proud to admit that he mistook his caltrop bag for coins, the cat is content to stroll along with Rrruh as he carries Jack's things.

He continues to speak in catfolk, just out of habit with his new acquaintance.
"Most anyone who isn't dead tired or injured goes to Jak-a-Napes for a drink after work. I believe your tourist is headed there now."
