Thanks for the Chronicle, and apologies for the long delay, my brain seems to have shutdown after the holidays. That said, I will probably take a break for at least the next game so as not to continue to delay anyone's combat actions :)

With the snek in sight, Finn aims his crossbow and lets a couple bolts fly.

"And that's how ya skewer a snake!"

Strike, reload, strike

Finn flips his tools back into his trenchcoat as he makes his way over a bit closer to the snake. Stride that way ->

Thievery: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Oh, gosh. Can I Hero Point that roll? It seems.. ungood.

"Not yer kind of dance, eh? Ah well," Finn sighs as he finishes off his jig.

Turning his focus on the pillar, he pulls out a set of tools and gets to work disarming it.

Finn realizes he has a bit more time. "I find your dance entirely too tame, pal." He flips up the ends of his 'stache with a bit of saliva and starts his own version of the Noodle Dance.

"Never seen the thing before," Finn mutters to himself as he pulls his trenchcoat in tight, attempting to move towards the rune. "Easy there, my noodly pal. Just gonna slip by ya for a sec."

+7 Acrobatics to move towards the pillar, +7 Thievery to try a disarm

Haha, it is. I'm in Toronto. It's pretty cold this time of year, though we did avoid the ~30-40cm of recent snow I heard New York got.... For now!

Yep, happy turkey day to our friends across the border.

"He can talk to plants? Yeesh." Finn stares in disbelief. "Having that skill would've solved me many cases! Teach me your ways, pal."

Finn raises his arms up across his chest and starts shambling towards Stitch. "How's this? Do I look like that draugr we just put back to sleep?"

Afterwards he moves ahead a little more, sticking close to all of the light sources. "What's up there? More draugr? Come on out!"

Finn locks another bolt into his crossbow and follows up Nicole's volley with a shot of his own.

Just realized that was four actions - so Finn actually has not reloaded this turn.

"Let's hope it's alone!" Finn replies, moving ahead with his crossbow trained on the draugr. "Have I seen it before? Lemme think."

Finn thinks back to that one time he closed a case at a haunted orphanage. He'll never get the cries of infant ghosts out of his head.

Recall knowledge, Occultism +6 Religion +4 despite Stitch likely having most of the info. Basically looking to make the check so that the creature is flat-footed to Finn's attacks for a turn.

Afterwards, he leans forward, aims, and releases a bolt from his crossbow.

Magnifying glass in one hand, lit torch in another, Finn looks ahead at the partially submerged building. "There it is. Get your lights out, pals, I don't want any ghosts sneakin' up on me!" He shudders.

"Investigation into some ancient ruins? Ya got it. Count me in.. ugh.." Finn grunts in pain from his recent injuries, but still manages to waddle along. "I'm fine, I swear it to ya. Let's go."

"That one hurt real bad. Hey wait!" The detective cringes as Stitch's questionable antiseptic soaks into his wound. But it's not so bad.

"Gimme a swig of that too, pal. Something to sip on while Pal on Cloudy Day gives us the skinny." He finds a stump to sit on and listen in as he recovers. "What happened to ya?"

Finn turns and rushes for the boulder being, whose back is turned to Finn. "Looks like us pals almost got this one in the bag!" He cheers, slashing a few more times at mister pebbles' back.

Sorry all, I had been traveling and forgot to mention it here! I'll catch up and get a post in today.

Finn grunts and moans as the stitches go in, but before long, he's looking much better. "Not bad at all there pal, thanks. Never seen someone carry a full kit of surgical gear with 'em on an adventure, but I'm sure glad ya did."

Finn rubs the enormous bruise on his arm. "Damn frogs and their wanting to grab ol' Finn Gumshoe. Ouch. Got any bandages, pal Kazuuk?"

Assuming he has a bit of time to recover, Finn agrees to move forward and find the elusive leshy.

Finn drops his crossbow and takes out his rapier. "No kisses for you. At least not from me, pal." He slashes at the orange-tinted frog a few times.

"Biggest frogs I've ever seen!" Finn adds, staring down the creatures to try and see if he can remember what they are...

Nature with Assurance for 13

Colour has returned to Finn's face after a second cozy night at the inn, regal bed or not. He stalks ahead, a magnifying glass in each hand, examining the frogs, birds, trees carefully. "So he's a leshy, eh? Might blend in easily with this place. Gotta keep our eyes peeled, Gumshoe style!"

Finn awakens, and he's seen downing a bottle of thick, pink liquid, his face contorting in disgust. "Not sure what's worse, the hangover, or this stuff!"

He gathers himself up and fills the party in. "Seems our guy is in Blackwood Swamp, pals. Lost his mule and other goods, stolen right from here, so I guess he went without supplies. Wonder if we can find someone to tell us how to get there."

Realizing this is entirely unfair and goes against what "GM Rotation" actually is... I don't think I can GM for a while. I hope it's okay if I just keep leeching as a player only. :S

"I think I need ta lie down," Finn groans. "Any room is good at this point. I'll even take the floor. hic"

I have no cats. I get to deal with a different "pet" every month!

From raccoons to squirrels to worms somehow finding their way under our doors to wasp nests in our soffit.

I think we're on to bald-faced hornets flying around our newly installed lawn now. Guess they like the moisture?

House ownership has been.. interesting. :)

"Another round on me!" Finn calls to the barkeep upon settling into the inn, slamming down another shot of whiskey. "It was called the hic Opportune 'cuz hic it gives us the opportunity ta drink, paaaals."

Finn listens closely to the breakdown of the potential ships, but his eyes widen at the idea of the last one. "It might look and sound shoddy, but I say it has charm. Rather save our coin for a few beers after the trip. No need for extravagance! We ought to see about taking the Opportune."

"Off we go, then." Finn joins Roark, prowling the docks, one hand on his notepad, the other on his magnifying glass. He raises it up to each ship and crewmember, hoping to glean some info. By staring, of course.

Finn shakes his head. "Dealt with one too many con artists in my days. I can sniff 'em out anywhere, so don't you pals worry."

Would +6 Underworld Lore get Finn any additional info in this case?

"Gimme those things!" Finn leaps up, using one side of his trenchcoat as a makeshift net to nab the vials.

Yep, I'm here. I'm on day 5 of getting over a certain virus and feeling much better. Guess I couldn't avoid it forever!

Walking in, Finn's deep concentration on his magnifying glass causes him to nearly fall over Stitch. He laughs nervously, remembering that one time with the bacon. "Ah! I see the pals are all back together for another adventure, eh? And looking stronger than ever."

Eyeing Shaine up and down, Finn scoffs. "Isn't this the guy who thought he could confuse the Great Detective Finn Gumshoe -- and pals -- with some thoughtless amulet mission? We sure showed him!"

"Good to see ya, Roark!"

This is a "fresh" Finn, so he will be at 4 XP. Hope you guys don't mind a slightly less experienced adventurer continuing to tag along. :)

Finn is startled as he sits up. "What the? I thought I was seeing another version of myself in some unfamiliar place with a different group of pals, and then I woke up."

He takes the rapier. "Whew. Thanks for the healing juice. Think I gotta get this thing sharpened."

Finn struggles to get the proper grip on his crossbow, and likely misfires, the bolt flying off to the side. Roll is above

I moved Finn back. I take it in this case, he still has an action? Which, having drawn his crossbow, would be a bolt to its face. Maybe.

Finn breathes a sigh of relief and his wounds close up. "Thanks much, most helpful healing pals. Now I've changed my mind, I don't like this sword anyway." He lets his sword stick to the chair and makes his away back towards the door, drawing his crossbow. "Let's see you grab this, wannabe chair!"

Can I just not make the reflex save and let my sword stick? Guess it doesn't matter too much in that case.
Finn's gonna pull a Bella and get far away from this ... treasure chest with teeth.
