Sorry for the radio silence. Ironically I have been getting my internet upgraded which has, rather than giving me beefy speeds, left me with a lot closer to no internet than I would have liked. Filmore puts a poultice of this own design on any burns before going to see Qalkami so the team smells particularly herbaceous in the meeting. ”Contracts and legal proceedings aren’t my area of expertise. A worker that wants to escape wouldn’t have made a very good worker in the first place. Someone as important as you must be turning down swaths of better candidates every day. Plus I can see having such a good supply of water on a plane like this will be extremely lucrative,” says Filmore as his paladin and fey sides clash and tangle. Being a paladin means he won’t lie but his connection to the fey means he feels at home always telling the truth but speaking nothing but lies.
As the fight finishes Filmore stabilizes everyone. "They attacked us. As you can see we had to defend ourselves with cutlery. If it wasn't for the grace of Erastil we'd be dead and you'd be looking at a murder scene, instead they are just unconscious and will make a full recovery," says Filmore laying on the charm in spades and deliberately brushes away some of his destroyed outfit. Filmore does most of the talking but lets other people chip in a word here and there.
As beams of searing heat hit his flesh Filmore momentarily loses his concentration and the energy link to some of his party drops. The gnome closes his eyes for an instant and he focuses on the cool autumn breeze he can feel within him. As Filmore opens his eyes he forces this feeling outwards and anyone around feels Erastil’s strength empower them. You can hear the gnome repeating the same prayer to Old Deadeye over and over again. The expensive outfit he is wearing is destroyed and it is easy to see he is moving with a limp.
Actions: After taking all that damage as an immediate action I drop the life links on everyone apart from Garmit and Sickly. They heal for five and I take ten. I five foot step to a slightly safer position. Then I use my standard and move to channel and quick channel for 12d6 healing ignoring the bad guys and getting anyone within thirty foot.
Filmore knowing he will get hit moves towards his damaged friends while finishing his prayer. Even before moving he feels invigorated. He lets the feeling of cool autumn air flow out from him and his party feels Erastil's power pushing them forward. As me moves he pulls out a rod from his pouch.
Actions: Everyone heals for five. I take 25. Lay on hands for 3d6+6. Move and provoke. Channel for 6d6 excluding the bad guys and healing Garmit, Amarthecthel, and Sickly.
”To my knowledge Carlin has been cleared of all crimes and therefor is not a fugitive. That also means he isn’t currently wanted. What crime do you want to arrest him for? I’m sure we can sort this whole thing out,” says Filmore cheerily which seems slightly out of place in this situation but you can never really know what is going on in a gnome’s head.
Filmore checks his pulse and after a few seconds drinks a tincture he had tucked away in his robes. After giving the pearl an appreciative look Filmore pops it into the newly empty vial and puts it away for safe keeping. He checks his pulse one more time and sets off after looking satisfied with the results. Once they all get away from the house Filmore starts to talk to the tengu, "Garmit do you think you'd be able to get Carlin to admit to something incriminating without incriminating yourself? It shouldn't be too hard with my help and due to the fact you've never done anything questionable."
Picking up what is going on Filmore starts to lay it on thick, "I see you've spotted the compliment in the loophole. They want your water so much that they don't want anyone else to get it. That is quite the honour. Assuming you only want to sell to them. Just think about how interested people will be in your water once they find out that they can't get your water. Demand will be so much higher than supply."
Filmore drinks the potion and the familiar feeling of thickened almost liquid air fills his mouth and lungs. "Greetings Soheila. I am Filmore. I'm sure it will be a pleasure to work with you. We have the contract for you to look over. I think you'll be particularly interested in the clause about who you can sell water to," says Filmore. The fact he is fully submerged in water does not seem to be slowing Filmore's tongue down in any way.
"A please to meet you. I am Filmore and these are my companions," says Filmore while he sweeps his hand towards his party before continuing, "I'm sure they enjoyed meeting you too, I just talk more than they do. We're not looking for something in particular. We are looking for a someone in particular. I've been told you have an imp. I'd like to talk to him."
"What was the technicality? I like the idea of following the letter of the law while avoiding letting a criminal avoid the law. Could he just admit his wrong doings to us or would we need more proof?" asks Filmore enthusiastically. After listening to Yasmine's answer Filmore has a few more questions, "We have two more tasks to do, any information concerning them would be most helpful. We have an imp to recover and a contract to get signed. We are just on our way to meet the imp actually." While Filmore always seems a little too enthusiastic to start with. The enthusiasm is contagious or at the very least endearing.
”That is great to hear, you are right. A few hours are a mere fraction of someone’s life. We have a plan to do another few things first so we’ll be back in touch shortly,” says Filmore to Carlin sincerely. Filmore then turns his back on Carlin and follows the group out of the room and joins in in the discussion, “I agree with Garmit. We should get some advice and then continue onto task number two. I enjoy completing plans almost as much as I enjoy planning plans.”
Filmore knocks on the door three times and then politely says, "Hello, Carlin? I mutual friend sent us to help you with you current predicament. She says the inevitable has happened and you need a little assistance. This would be much easier to do face to face, I'm not even sure you can hear me right now."
Filmore looks eagerly around the shelves. He doesn’t touch any of the wares. He does pull out various bottles and containers from his satchel and compares them to what is available. He looks closely at the different colours and he looks extremely closely at the different closures. He points at three extremely dark red stopper bottles and makes a mental note of what he wants to buy. Giving the closest shelf a last once over Filmore turns round to look at the magmin and waits for his reply.
Filmore taps each of his ten platinum rings in order while listening to the tasks. Filmore then whispers a few words under his breath. As he groups up with the other Pathfinders he carefully removes the five rings off his right hand. He hands a ring to each Pathfinder while saying quietly, ”May Erastil show you the path.” Filmore then adds, "The second two tasks seem the most diplomatic so I think we should do them first. We could start off by talking to Carlin to find out what is going on."
