Ewari purses her lips as Garmit speaks again, but it is easy to ascertain that the family's current economics at least give her pause from shooing you away too hastily.

Walking to the door to the west, she draws a key from her pocket and quickly disables the frosty trap as the door swings open, revealing a meeting room nearly identical to the one you've already visited to the east. "Please, wait in here where you will be more comfortable."

After you have gathered inside, she turns the key, and the frosty flames surround the door frame once again. From outside, you hear a muffled command. "Threnkiasix, make sure our visitors remain inside while I speak with our master."

Peering quickly beyond the un-trapped southern door reveals a deep bath with stepped sides and filled with steaming water that occupies most of this room.

A DC 20 Knowledge Geography or Nature check:
The bath’s contents are heavily salted with rare minerals mined from volcanoes and other fiery sites, and the composition is particularly soothing to outsiders with the fire subtype.

Overall you get the sense that, although cordial so far, the efreeti will eventually run out of patience and ask you to leave as your stories are probably not strong enough to give you a run of the house, particularly the upstairs portion.

Sickly looks around with a morose frown, when they go from stuck on one side, to stuck on the other... and now with the host knowing they're there, and some sort of strange, probably allergenic mist, rising off the waters nearby.

He stands on the far side of the room, as far from the baths as possible, hoping someone else will have a decent idea on how to proceed.

Strangely, the door was trapped but not locked, so it can be opened with ease. It is currently closed.

The wispy flames of ice fade from the door as the magic is dispersed. There is the sound of cautious movement to the door from the outside. The dragon on guard probably noticed the flames flicker out as well.

Sorry for being confused but where did the communal resist energy scroll come from? I'm happy to use it, I just couldn't find it in the postings and I don't remember buying one. I feel like I'm missing something... :-(

Malusha waves everyone close. Closer than they need to be but he doesn't want to take any chances. He unfurls the powerful scroll of resist energy. "This will help all of us." he says somberly as he looks at everyone. "But it won't last forever."

He closes his eyes in preparation then opens them to begin slowly reading the scroll. As he finishes, a wave of magical energy washes over everyone.

Sickly gets the door first, so I'll assume the bard starts a performance instead. Moved Sickly to the end to get buffs up before the door opens.

The group prepares for a showdown as Sickly moves to the door. Once opened, the dragon stares at the gathered heroes for but an instant, before belching forth a ball of molten rock that explodes upon striking the dwarf's silhouetted frame. The explosion coats the rest of the group in thick lava as well, but Malusha's spell nicely protects you from the worst of the burns.

Hmm... for some reason I didn't think I was up! But guess I am. Luckily wasn't alot of action in the 6 and a half hours it took me to notice =)

Although the molten lava dripping off of him does not appear to have done any damage at all, Sickly's face has taken on a bright reddish hue, as if it had indeed been burned.

With globules of the molten substance still dripping off him, he moves into the room after Amarthecthel, hoping to keep the dragon from doing that a second time. Of course, the only way he knows how to do that, is to hit it really hard, and hope to dissuade it!

Move, rage, melee attack.

Malusha steps up to the door where he can see out. He almost jumps back at the sight of the dragon but somehow manages to stay his ground. With a flick of the wrist he flips out the wand of bless from his wrist sheath. With another flick he activates the wand over all of his allies.

Reaching the dragon, the rogue looks for a sensitive spot in its underbelly to stick his blade into.

Sickly takes another swing with his longhammer at the draconic creature, though the sounds from upstairs are already starting to draw his gaze. If the prefect returns they'd soon have a flying foe to deal with... two if she brings the master of the house.

Malusha moves into the main chamber just in time to see Amarthecthel smash the dragon to the ground. He winces as the beast crumples to the ground. Sensing that they aren't out of danger yet, Malusha loads a bolt in his crossbow and starts scanning for a new threat.

With the dragon down, Garmit scampers past its fallen form and heads for the eastern stairs towards where they heard the door opening a few moments ago. As he starts to ascend he takes a defensive posture, a bit like a crane standing on a single leg. An impressive enough sight as it is, made particularly so given he's now standing on the step of the stairs.

Move action. Total Defense. +5 to AC.

Amarthecthel's cold drenched scimitar proves more than the beast can handle and it crumples to the parquet-stone floor. As Garmit and Sickly slink up the stairs, for a moment all they see is the open doorway.

Suddenly a vicious looking elemental clambers out of the room, its semi-solid magma-like fists dragging against the polished floors. Spotting the tengu below, it swings at him with a heavy blow.

The shrill sound of a chair moving and Sickly senses the room it came out of is not empty...

Sickly's breaths come in gasping weezes as he reaches the top of the stairs, and his face is even more blotchy and red than when he started. Seeing the large elemental creature lumber out of the doorway, he frowns unhappily trying to remember if he read about them once

He takes the strange metal cylinder and presses one end of it up against the side of his neck. There is a faint fsss sound, then suddenly he is growing, increasing in size to almost match the elemental.

With a small wail, he brings his enlarged weapon down on the creature in question... not even having to move to do so.

move action to administer the enlarge person potion with the hypospray medlance, then with the new and improved larger reach, smash the elemental!

@Sickly elementals of this size typically have just DR 5/-, but as mentioned before, this one looks a bit different...

Garmit, ducking under the first swing from the big elemental, takes a deep breath and then darts up past the big thing to try and get in behind it. As he moves up the stairs, the sneaky tengu ducks, weaves and rolls, in attempt to avoid any further blows from the big beast. Once he reaches the top of the stairs, the rogue strikes again at the magma monster with his short but very sharp blade.

Feli, Filmore and Malusha rush up the stairs as the elemental pounds Garmit for moving past.

Garmit, Amarthecthel and Sickly each find their attacks easily striking the creature, but something unnatural prevents them from landing perfect blows. More disturbingly, Amarthecthel realizes the discharged frostbite from his scimitar does not have any effect at all on the beast.

Ewari suddenly appears (from invisibility) with a flurry of wild scorching rays aimed at the tengu, but none strike true. She follows with a double swing of her heavy falchion but his focus allows him to dodge both swipes.

Another flash of poorly aimed scorching rays emanate from midair above the overlook, but Sickly is not singed. A slashing weapon strikes out from there as well, but the wielder is still not revealed.

Malusha continues up the stairs just in time to see a blade strike out towards Sickly. But the attacker is not visible! Malusha pauses for a second to remind himself of a spell he learned not that long ago. He makes a quick gesture in the air and repeats the magical phrase to create a sphere of invisibility purge around himself.

Sickly gives a small wail, as he is suddenly struck from the side by a new enemy he can not see at all! He is gasping in lungfull's of air, and sweating profusely, as he squints through eyes red and swollen, trying to spot the new foe.

Luckily, Malusha, coming up the stairs behind him, has just the remedy for invisible attackers. His spell quickly reveals yet another efreeti! With an angry cry, the dwarf swings his enlarged weapon over the opening at the newly revealed genie!
