Oy vey.
Let me tell you what's going on with me. First, I'm not dead nor fading away. However, after a week of illness and a week of reasonably ill vacationing, I'm now stranded without access to the Internet (I'm writing this from my mother's house, which is definitely not a long-term solution).
Then, the team of electricians who were going to wire my house were in an automobile accident and several were injured. So still no Internet.
Other electricians are coming to wire my house for the Internet and -hope- they can do it by next Friday.
Trying to stay connected by iPad has proved too difficult when I can summon at most 1 or 2 bars at my house. Thus, I'm just going to be offline for a bit. I'm sorry, but now you know why.

Thanks for the update Tarondor. Best of Luck.
We are beginning in earnest on August 13th. Feel free to introduce your characters, make your knowledge checks, and ask questions of the Venture Captain.
Also, double check the levels that you told me so I get the correct APL.

Hi all (and especially GM),
Unfortunately my character for this is still tied up in another game that I thought would be finished by now. It was part 4 in a series and based on the way we whipped through the first 3 parts and the earlier part of the last installment, I thought we'd be finished with plenty of time to spare.
As it turns out we got caught up in a lengthy dungeon crawl through a map with multiple secret doors, bending passages and the like. We are still in what I am pretty sure is the final encounter but I'm not sure how long it will last. I was holding out hope up until the last minute that somehow we'd finish in time...but alas.
I may need to bow out if everyone is ready to go, or alternatively use a pregen perhaps? As it seems a few others are also somewhat inconvenienced at present, I would still be very keen to play if we end up delaying the official start date. Just don't do it on my account alone.
Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

Tarondor, hope you're feeling better! And it looks like there are two of you still stuck in other games so we're going to be off to a slow start.
I'm really looking forward to this game series and playing with the same group for all three. If it takes a bit for us to get going, that's fine with me. Besides, I have a few other Gameday games to play so I'm not going to be bored.
GM, is a wand of Resist Energy available?
GM Erich

@Maluhsa Katheer is large enough to find anything your fame will allow you to purchase.
Judging from where you two are in finishing Blakros Matrimony and Echoes of the Everwar, I have at least a hope you will both be done in a week or two, so we can slow roll the start of Forged in Flame to accommodate. This will give some time for Tarondor to get up and rolling as well.
For the others, feel free to post in character and ask any questions you might have.

Thanks for being so accommodating, GM. Hopefully we'll all be ready to go before long.

Hello all, as you no doubt know, the website has been down for several days which has not only prevented this game from progressing, but also the previous ones that a couple of the players are still mired in the "final" encounters of. Hopefully we can reassess the situation next week and get this game going middle of next week or so.
I will monitor and update after the weekend.

Here is an update on my situation:
GOOD NEWS:
At long last my house has been wired for Internet and my service is on.
BAD NEWS:
My computer seems to have suffered total failure in the move, possibly from static discharge. So I now have no computer. If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have had no luck at all lately.
THE PLAN:
I have ordered a new motherboard and CPU from NewEgg. They should arrive tomorrow. I built the computer myself and so should be able to rebuild it. I hope to be up and running by the Monday the 27th, but see my previous comments on luck...
NOTE:
If this is a game I play in, I’m sorry for my absence. If this is a game I GM, I’m very sorry. If this is a game I’m supposed to be GMing but have not yet begun... it gets better.

Okee-dokee. I think we're ready to roll.
After more than a month, I've finally gotten Internet access again. Seems as though the site's been down most of that time, so not much loss there.
On the other hand, I'm leaving on Monday the 3rd for a week at the beach with my kids and won't have any access out there, either. I'll try to catch up this weekend at the least.

We seemed to have made significant progress very quickly in our final combat of Echoes of the Everwar, so hoping that if the site doesn't keep playing up that Garmit will be free to join in pretty soon.

Garmit's previous game has just wrapped up today. I'll be able to jump into the game shortly, once I've had a chance to review his character sheet. Obviously, happy to wait for our other PC who was tied up with the Blakroses, though.

@Garmit, @Tarondor --- Good news from you.
I will go ahead and contact everyone and let them know we are going to get started. As far as Feli goes, they are close to the end there as well, they just need some good rolls. Hopefully she can join in here (anytime before the first "encounter" is fine with me) or maybe with another character if that is a possibility. Otherwise we can just continue with five.
I don't really want to wait any longer, since I don't think the time frame for this Game Day is going to be significantly lengthened (let me know if anyone has heard differently, last I heard was November 30). We do have the benefit of sliding right into Part 2 after we finish the first scenario.
So let's turn the key and get this going again.
GM Erich
|
Good news - I think Feli is almost done with her previous game
Bad news - Piety Angelbane had to drop this game
So we are down a player, I will post on the board to see if we can replace the spot.
Also, if you have played Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–17: Fires of Karamoss with this character and have received the Outstanding Bounty boon, let me know here.
GM Erich

Player replaced - welcome to Filmore Gimdus, taking Piety's spot at the table.

Hi guys. I am your new friend. I'll be using Shield Other and Life Link a lot during these two missions if for some reason a fight starts.
Sickly and Feli2 how did you get your stats in spoilers and on a new line? My spoiler block got too big and was cut off.
GM Erich
|
With the final group assembled, we are now firmly Subtier 8-9.
GM Erich
|
Luckily, you can rely simply on your wits and banter for the entirety of both of these scenarios and never enter combat even once!
bluff check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
GM Erich

Yes, it is evident that you need to make a choice on whether to follow Qalkami's orders to a tee or make a moral decision to help the lovebirds (and risk Qalkami's ire). Similarly, the same dilemma exists on how to handle the other task with the tiefling Carlin.
You may be noticing a pattern here...
As a side note, members of the Exchange should be finding reason to engage all the NPCs (for entirely different reasons).
Garmit

Just a heads up that I'll be heading out on a family vacation from this Saturday 29 Sep and returning on Sunday 7 October. I'll try to get access to internet on at least some of the days but my posting may be a little irregular during this time.
Bot Garmit as needed if I end up holding things up, but hopefully I'll get on regularly enough to provide some input. Garmit's got a bit of extra stake in how some of these missions go with his Exchange affiliation.

Quick update on timing - The Game Day officially ends on November 19 and I think we are probably on pace to make that happen. We will transition from the first scenario to the second sometime during the Oct 10-15 time frame. The second scenario has a more straightforward flow to it and with a reasonable posting rate we can certainly get it done in time for the end of the Game Day.
Also, I realize this scenario is a bit of a challenge so far for some of the characters (either due to faction, alignment, or skill sets). I encourage you to role play it as you see fit. The more I look at it, I think one of the intents of this scenario is to make characters question their actions and how they mesh (not only with others) but the Society as a whole.
GM Erich
|
Just an update... I do still want to finish this scenario by the 15th and transition to the next one. The posting rate has been rather sluggish in recent days, and I am a little worried we might not complete everything. By my reckoning we are at 1 and a 1/2 tasks out of 4 complete, plus a return to Qalkami to collect your "reward".
Is there anything I can do to ignite everyone? I'm not sure if it is real life getting in the way, or just a set of characters who are not feeling strong with taking the lead (either due to skills or philosophy) with the tasks before you. The scenario is a bit of an odd duck in that the tasks are all essentially social encounters (although the stats are there if you want to murderhobo them all). Or maybe I haven't done the scenario justice in explaining it all to you, and your not sure what to do.
Let me know, and I can adjust before it gets too late.

North to Canada this weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Internet access is questionable, so assume sickly is sniffling in the backgroung til then.
Less you need him to actually do something, than peer pressure him into it... he's highly gullible and easy to manipulate.
Garmit
|
I'm back from vacation, during which it turned out I had zero access to internet. Sorry if me being away held the game up in any way.
I personally really like this scenario so far and the moral dilemmas it poises.
Let's bring this thing home!
Sickly
|
Wow, not the best starting positions.
I totally want to try hoisting up the buffet table and smashing him with it... but the damn things 35' long!
Are there any smaller tables... perhaps only like 10' long? =)
Or is perhaps that big long one a bunch of smaller ones laid end to end?
GM Erich
|
It looks like one long table. Could be used as cover at least if you want to scamper under it. There would be ample things (chairs, end-tables) to toss next to you (max 2d6 base damage). Of course, your actual weapons are behind the door 15 feet away.
Sickly
|
ya, but its a move to the door, a move to open said door, a move to pick up the bag, and a move to retrieve a single weapon, then more moves to try to get close enough to do anything with the weapon.
That means not helping at all for til round three or four... which is not good...
Though would Sickly have been able to use his pathfinder pouch to bring in a few smalle weapons? (most of his are 2 lbs or less, so perhaps the daggers and light hammers?)
Any searching magical or otherwise, would not have found anything in there. The size limit would be restrictive, so no longhammer in that one (then again, the Longhammer wouldn't have fit in the handy haversack either, so its not here regardless).
GM Erich
|
@Sickly some minor utensils on the table (1d2 max damage). No ice!
Since we are nearing the end of this scenario, please provide me an email (here or PM) to send your chronicles to and please roll your dayjob if you have one.
Boon Rolls!

Sickly

Dang, if I'd thought of it earlier, I'd totally have done that... (a 1d2 is not a huge diff from a 1d4... and the image alone would have been great!)
pm'ed you the email for Sickly!
edit: oops, almost missed the day job part...

Second part of the series will start tomorrow...
Everyone will either get 5,410 gp (Levels 8-9) or 3,990 gp (Levels 5-7), feel free to purchase during the interim.
