Cantrips: Message, Chill Touch I've already got a Syncretist Cleric of Shyka/Cernunnos planned for when ACP kicks in; they're literally going to be the reincarnated soul of the Leshy warrior Fester took his name from but with standard Leshy reincarnation amnesia, so "Fester" is the memories of the character's past life being carried forward while the Cleric will be their soul starting anew as a separate character. I'm really looking forward to running it, I'm just waiting for the ACP system to go online to make it official at this point.

Cantrips: Message, Chill Touch I'll have to figure out a way to embellish this story, I suppose. Not sure what I could really add that would make this any more fantastical than reality, but I'm sure I'll figure something out... Fester offers to spend his downtime doing what he can to help cleanup the situation, slipping quickly into the story (lie) that Soumral is his actual name and taking the opportunity to learn a bit more about Leshies and their culture. "It feels like the right move to make, given the circumstances. That and, well... I may owe it to an old friend." Great game, enjoyed it a lot! Can't wait until the ACP system gets properly implemented so I can build a real Leshy myself for PFS. +)

Anyone who has previously noticed Fester's lies is painfully aware that he is obviously pulling this from absolutely nowhere. Fester waits to see what happens on Lux's end before resuming his previous appeals to begin helping with crafting another abyssal leshy, hoping to use the opportunity to lead into a Deception or Thievery check to get my chance at either tricking or stealing his eye. Or perhaps you simply prefer sunsets and the night? In either case, I can certainly see why. The stars are quite wonderful, I'm sure you'd agree." Fester claps his hands together, wringing them together briefly. "But enough speculation! Show me your current work; I'd love to see if I could assist in one of your spectacular works! Formally, I am known as Soumral Eldren, amateur herpetologist - which, as you surely know, is one who studies herbs - and aspiring leeeeshy crafter myself. Your techniques are truly awe-inspiring, so I came to you with my associates in order to inquire about your astounding methods myself. Guess I need to work on my acting still. Regrettable. "You'll have to tell me what you remember about that Deskari story; you don't hear people claim to have dined on a god every day, to say the least." Fester laughs abruptly before turning to stare at the fire. "As for your concerns, I'm… not sure I agree, honestly. I consider myself to be quite lucky, to say the least; or at least lucky enough to have lived as long as I have. I've borne witness to countless heroes more deserving of life than I whose time has run out, whether that be merely due to heritage or as a result of being snuffed out prematurely." Fester picks a stick from the forest floor and inserts it into the fire, holding on and watching as the flame burns down the wood. "I never really did much with my life before, you know. I had all the time in the world and nowhere to put it. But the strange thing is, when I think of those that came before me… well, it gives me something to work towards. Living in their shoes, and trying to live up to the example they set… no, perhaps working to carry on their legacy would be more accurate? It makes it feel like this life I've been given exists for a reason, to carry those heroes spirits onward into a new age…" Fester smiles as the wood begins to singe his fingers. With a blue glow, the twig disintegrates, and Fester turns his head to the night sky. "I don't envy the stars. To see so many fight and die and be forgotten in the span of a blink… it's no wonder they arrange themselves in constellations. Just another way of keeping the spirit alive." ----------- Fester lacks any real daily preparation schenanigans at this level, so I'm ready to go whenever.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------- ”I can assure you, we have not killed any gods to my knowledge, but there was this one time we were enlisted by a God to free them from their eternity-old prison. Now there’s a tale…” Fester will go on an extended rundown of the Season 8 Metaplot that time the Pathfinder Society intervened on a planar level for the betterment of the multiverse, embellishing himself into it as needed, especially the tale of how he, “-personally, of course - assisted in the acquisition of the relic weapon Fossilblight, by appeasing the spirits of the volcano it resided within. And then, once we got inside the volcano…” Fester does not mention the Pathfinder acquaintance he got this story from. Ideally, my embellished retelling of the respect given to the various obstacles on the mountain will present a believable enough display for this Kanna Korag to trust me. Fester will also make a point to play with the dog, assuming it has followed him, in order to show that he is good with animals and definitely trustworthy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- ”...and I can assure you, children, that the blast was in no-way enough to take ol’ Fester out of it! Why, one time, I was on the border of the Elemental Plane of Fire and had to endure a full trampling by an army of fire spirits! This was nothing I haven’t handled before of course!” If the dog has followed Fester here, he will have grown more used to its presence as a prop for human attachment and is giving it a wide variety of scratches and rubs as he absentmindedly continues his recital of the time the Pathfinder Society freed a god with the help of his efforts, “-of course!” only mildly adapted to fit in with the current situation. Anyone following Fester is well aware that he did not stop telling the story between starting it at Kanna Korag and finishing it with the children, instead opting to tell the minor details to the various townspeople he stumbled upon along the way.

Cantrips: Message, Chill Touch Fester is down to help with the Druid, he sounds like he could use a hand. After dazedly nursing his concussion for most of the trip to camp, Fester listens to the others's tales of the occurance in a light daze, only ever really adding a nod or a gesture to the conversation. It becomes quickly apparent to anyone watching that the elf is not quite all there. Which I'm assuming goes double for his literal faction head that we are talking to who I completely forgot was the faction head until finishing the first draft of this post. Upon hearing the suggestion to explore the camp and help out the locals, Fester begrudgingly gets up to head to the druid's tent. I guess I could use the air, and everyone in immediate company seems to be wary of my storytelling anyways. May as well find a fresh audience. As he approaches the tent, the elf quickly takes a swig from his canteen before pouring some of its contents into his hand and slapping himself with the water. After a few blinks, he eyes the canteen again before dumping the rest of its contents on his face. After wiping the excess moisture off of his face with his sleeve, the elf appears satisfied and begins to open the tent flaps. Fester begins speaking up as soon as he enters, taking no stock of its contents. "Hail! I am Sir Fester, representing the Pathfinder Society! I have come to offer our services to the beleaguered people of this handsome town of coughiobariahem. I am adequately-versed in mostly all things, both natural and un, and am eager to provide assistance through any means deemed necessary. Cantrips: Message, Chill Touch Sidenote that contains some minor Doomsday Dawn Playtest Scenario spoilers: "Fester" has an interesting origin as a PFS character, as he is one-of-two characters I am making based on a character from the Doomsday Dawn playtest. As stated in main chat, Fester, a grifter and compulsive liar by nature, is the character that heard the story of an epic battle where crusaders helped a group of heroes do some ritual to save the fate of the world, and decided that it would be a good persona to take on, since Doomsday Dawn Spoilers really start here:
all the crusaders involved died horribly and thus claiming to have lived through it as a lone survivor would be hard to contest. The original character I was using for it was a Leshy (thus the name Festering Bergamot) that I intend to have reincarnate as a PFS character now that the ACP system is finally in place, although he will only have vague memories of his time as a crusader. Thus, "Fester" acts as the tale of the adventure that lives on in the crusader's stead, while the Actual Crusader will live on later as a amnesiac soul. He also serves as a great way for me to "steal valor" from all of my PF1 characters that no longer exist, which I will likely be doing a lot of where applicable in this game. None of his party-lies will be intentionally antagonistic, this was just a fun way that I came up with to run a Bluff/Feint Rogue in PFS. Cool, so hopefully that clears the air for "Fester". I hope you all enjoy the roleplay.

There was this one incredible battle that I was in recently, in fact... ah, yes, the "Battle of Undarin," I believe it was called. Nasty battle, that one was. It was a real tragedy what happened there, but in the end it all worked out. Aaaaanyways, I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I? My name is Fester, pleasure to meet you." Fester extends his hand for a shake. I was going to put this in Spoiler tags, but since Fester crit failed, I'll just type it in the open. You get the distinct feeling that, while well-meaning, Fester is likely a shameless valor thief. |
