I know this is a problem staff is aware of... but I feel its worth raising again. Without naming names, there has been a user who has rated every PF2 product 1 or 2 stars without any comment. I just went to check Rusthenge to see if I should pick it up and noticed there is now a second user doing the exact same thing.

Now, I'm pretty good at ignoring this, but it is annoying, and it continues it is going to increasingly hurt customer QoL by skewing star rating. I know there's a hope this gets resolved when the website gets upgraded and policing review can be fraught... but is there anything that can be done in the meanwhile? These are clearly bad-faith reviews by people who haven't actually bought all the books they are reviewing.

This is a weird one and I'm not quite fully awake, so hopefully it makes a modicum of sense.

The community use policy allows products that are a) free and accessible to everyone and b) uses the text from the Paizo blog and webfiction.

Ergo, would a free podcast that does readings of Pathfinder/Starfinder fiction from the blog be acceptable as long as it gave proper credit/links/trademark & copyright notice? I feel like the answer should be yes based on my reading, but I can't find precident for it. I know I appreciate my fantasy podcasts/audiobook on my morning commute, so I suspect others would enjoy something along these lines if it is possible.

I work on an Age of Lost Omens timeline for fun, but the dates are all AR, so I had to do a bit of math to put in the dates for Season of Ghosts. I thought I'd share it in case anyone else would find them useful and to save you some time.

I've done my best to descriptions vague to try and hide any plot points so players don't accidentally run across spoilers, especially any reference to the big twist. With that said, read at your risk, there could still be spoilers in there.

I love the inclusion of popular edicts and anathemas so much. Bang on design!

The world of Golarion is huge and draws inspiration from fantasy works of all genres. It isn’t really possible to make a single list of inspirations for the setting… so instead I’m making a whole bunch of them! And since this is way bigger than a single person, I’m opening it up to the community as well to leave comments with media they think should be on the list.

You can find and comment on the document here.

It is a bit empty right now, but I'm going to add to it as I have time and I hope other people will too!

Any type of media is fair game as long as it relates to the Pathfinder setting and meets the Community Use Policy. I will probably try to sort media by book, movie, video game, music, non-fiction etc, but that is all dependent on how much time I have. If you want to include or add to a blurb for a particular work, you are more than welcome to include that too. Credit for blurbs will be given if you include your name.

This document does include an outline, so if you’d like to skip straight to a particular topic you can. Broadly it is divided into three sections: Inspiration by book, by region, and by adventure path. There will be some overlap between the three, so repeats are okay, but try not to duplicate entire lists.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave a comment and we’ll get building this list together!

It is time for me to take a break from Paizo. I wish my reasons to be known, but to be absolutely clear, CS, freelancers, writers, developers, this is not on you. Y'all are rockstars, I love your work, but I need to step back. Love and respect, always.

Management. This is 100% on your heads. I love Pathfinder. Truly and deeply. But I am so tired of the unforced errors and constant non-apologies. The open letter to Erik is the final straw for me. When AoE fall happened, it was clear that concerns within the company were not being listened to or addressed. I'm in the industry too, I know how long it takes to make books, but the first thing that should have happened AoE was double-checking if other book had similar flags raised. Especially those set on Absolom. Especially those being developed by the person who admitted to ignoring those red flags and promised to do better at listening to them. It becomes overtly clear to me that the promises made, even if they are made with the best of intentions, are just talk.

This game is no longer bringing me joy. Not because the writing has changed. But because of the constant mess that surrounds it. It is time to reevaluate Paizo's structure starting with your places in it. I hope that in six months I can check back in and feel good about one of my favorite games again. I hope I'll be able to take my books out of storage.

But honestly... I can't even look at them right now. They make me feel sick. And I ain't spending money on stuff I don't enjoy. So I hope I will find myself able to come back... but I doubt it.

Hi everyone!

I am slowly working towards compiling a timeline of the entire Lost Omens campaign setting using the Aeon Timeline 2 program. This will take a significant amount of time and likely will be an eternal WiP, but I find it quite relaxing and thought I would share the fruits of my labour.

In the Google Drive below, you will find the most recent Timeline file I have uploaded. You can open and view it if you have the latest version of Aeon Timeline 2. There is one other folder there as well. This contains PDFs of national timelines, which currently holds the timelines of Absalom and Druma. As I compile more information, I will update with more nations, as well as timelines by ancestry, region, NPC, and more!

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NLmKzMxFCCxR7jV9R4aaLGLbdqVDJCx9?us p=sharing

And yes, if you are wondering, I did start a similar thread years and years ago, but I can't find it anymore, I'm better organized now, and the launch of 2e seemed like a good opportunity to start anew!

Any comments, help, or thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Greeting Cutters!

I am finally getting around to posting something that I've been working on for a while, a visual timeline of the history of Golarion. I have a history degree and am a major amateur history buff, but I have always found visuals help me immensely, especially when drawing on multiple sources to compare relative dates. I'm hoping some other people will find it useful too. If we are really lucky, maybe we can tease out some of the facts in the Directorsuarus' hidden folder of unrevealed secrets!

As I said, I've been working on this for a while, but I was stymied by the fact that there is one nation critical to the development of nations in the Inner Sea who's military has touched every corner of the region, yet the geographic and temporal range of its Armies of Exploration have remained vague. This left a giant uncertainty in the early histories of many nations until recently, when we were given definitive dates for most of the campaigns, as well as a nice map showing where they went.

I give you the timeline for Taldor, the First Empire!

Now I know that this timeline is still fairly incomplete, as I have only used the table of dates in the Inner Sea World Guide and Taldor, the First Empire to date. Taldor isn't one of the nations I am personally focused on, but I felt that it was a necessary starting point given how many nations ended up being born out the empire. If you're knowledge of Taldor is better than mine, I would graciously accept guidance on where I can find data I missed. Especially if you can find the birthdates, reign dates, or ages of NPCs.

Since there is a time limit on how long posts can be edited on the Paizo boards, I'm also giving you a link to a Google Drive Doc. As I create new timelines, I will add them to this doc so that if you want to find something quickly, you don't have to thread diving to find it, they will all be accessible from the first post.

The program I use to make these timelines is Aeon Timeline. If anyone else uses it, I am happy to email the raw files to you.

If you would like to help out with this project, I would be most appreciative. I want this to a community resource, both in its use and creation. Plus my knowledge of Golarion is far from all-encompassing and lots of APs and non-nation campaign books include little historical details that are easy to miss. If you making note of a particular date to be added to the timeline, please include the book you found the date in and (if possible) the page number so that I can track it down myself. I also will take Word of God from Paizo directors, so if James answers a date related question in his AMA thread, I'm calling fair game for the timeline (indeed, I have included some facts from Eric Mona's thread in this very timeline). Just please link to the post you are referencing.

Thanks for any help you can give! I'm planning on working on Qadira's timeline next, but I will probably drift thorugh Golarian's history as things catch my interest. If you like to see a particular nation (or historical arc) be featured, I will take requests and suggestions. Please let me know if you find this to be a useful excercise!

I totally get why it's in there, but as a biologist and educator, the use of phrenology in Occult Adventures kinda irrationally bugs me. Anyone got suggestions for an alternate occult use of the Knowledge (Arcana) Skill Unlock? My first thought was auras, but that's already taken.

Okay, so I have an idea for a campaign that revolves around a city watch, detectives and lawyers; ala CSI, Criminal Minds, Law and Order, Scandal and Sherlock Holmes. I know this campaign will work and I've hit upon the idea of using campaign traits to represent the PC's specialities and roles they play on the team.

The issue I'm having is that I've never really created traits before, so trying to balance them against one another without them all seeming the same is a bit tricky. I've come up with this list of potential roles and traits that the PCs could fit into. I'm not concerned with the balance they have against published traits as I am against one another. Do they look reasonable? Are there and that stand out as being very powerful or very weak compared to the other traits? Any potentials roles that I could have missed or suggests how to vary things a bit more?

Thanks in advance!
