I was a bit surprised at the single impossible spell ever rule, myself. Then again, of all the restrictions on impossible spells it also seems the easiest to soften, which you may need to do depending on how many casters/characters you have.

It calls to mind the Imperial Practices in Mage: the Awakening and archmasters needing to go through long elaborate schemes in order to gather the quiescence that allows them to cast Imperial spells (Mage’s own version of Impossible Magic). Even just gathering the stuff is a walking plot hook since it takes a while and drives the character’s decisions. Using something like that to fuel your next impossible spell would make sense as a direction to go.

Also, putting Pathfinder content on DTRPG does nothing for Paizo. The way Infinite works is that DTRPG gets 30% and Paizo gets 20%. If third party content is on DTRPG, DTRPG gets 35% and Paizo gets nothing. Indeed, plenty of 1e content IS on DTRPG and Paizo gets well… nothing. Same with 2e.

The reason to use Infinite is to make use of the setting and the unique intellectual property that goes with it, if something is purely mechanical it really shouldn’t be on Infinite. Opening up the setting to be on DTRPG as well would be a ludicrous business decision that would straight up give away Paizo’s IP.

Continuing the interesting, I did NOT get charged anything by DHL on Absalom Station. A SNAFU in the system split it and Bastion of Blasphemies apart (CS has fixed it for next time), so I’ll be interested to see if I get it next time.

I'll address multiple messages here about the same thing! Yes, the subscriptions are processed separately, BUT it is my understanding that they still all ship together! It's a systematic thing that we'd like to group back together like before, but I just wanted to be clear about that!

I doubt they'll be shipped separately. If I had to take a guess, the store probably has a batch application that runs to process each subscription, rather than just going by say users and processing all their stuff together. That's why some people have one book and not the other, and yet other people have the opposite PDFs in their library. It's probably also done via order of ID of each subscription which is likely based roughly on when you signed up for each sub. It's not a bad system, but when there are multiple subs going out, it can lead to confusion like today.

As for the physical books, I'm sure those get pulled by customer as it'd be MUCH easier to prep deliverables in a way that someone can look at...

That would be better, but being charged shipping twice when there would be a lowered shipping if they were run through together is still an issue.

I have received an update! They let me know that these don't go out until your specific order processes, and that takes a while to get to everyone. The both bad and good news is that there are a LOT of orders today! That's awesome! It means a lot of you support us, and we appreciate that very much! However, because of the high volume, the deliverables are going out a little slower, but they ARE going out! Thank you all for reaching out about this!

Is it known that different subscriptions are processing separately? My Absalom Station has gone through, but Bastion of Blasphemies has not. In the old store subscriptions will be bundled together, which would reduce the overall shipping cost… the fact it appears they are processed separately yet again raises the concern of rising costs. It also worries me about the environmental impact of two books being delivered independently on two different trips rather than coming together and saving fuel for everyone.

I'm still waiting for the stellifera to be updated to SF2. Tiny psychic cuttlefish who use telekinesis to, in effect, make encounter suits out of water.

While I highly approve of all the Leshy talk, I must emphasize that this is the #1 species I want to see make the jump to Starfinder 2e.

Cosmic has a functional effect, it doesn't really refer to a creature's origins.

I mean, it kinda does. It’s a creature from the void of space, seems to fit a living star perfectly fine and much better than aberration or ooze. I can see the argument for elemental, but that has an extraplanar connotation and I was not fan of them being native outsiders in 1e.

Anyhow, in Alien Core garaggakals have the [cosmic] [drift] traits and drift is clearly about where they are from rather than what type of creature they are. Ergo a solo cosmic indicating a uniquely interstellar origin seems completely appropriate.

I am very pleased with the development of Orcs and Dwarves in this book. Its a natural evolution of PF2's pivot on them and gives some new directions to go with things that you don't usually see in fantasy. Especially saying that...

Also, I am 100% making a Sonic the Hedgehog build with a Bantrid now. They've got some great feats for it.

Didn't a lot of the faction guide make it into the Galaxy Guide?

There's stuff there, but its a three page spread for each. Presumably the originally book would have dedicated a full chapter to each of them, which is what I would like. Don't think it will come any time soon because of the Galaxy Guide, but hopefully it (or a book on each like we've got in Pathfinder) is still on the radar.

Well, it’s not just me then. I’ve tried doing the same thing, but get an error when adding my card back in, so my account just has no payment options right now :/

I've also got this failed payment / update card email cycle going on.

Also, I'm sure the blog about the new store said we'd be able to pay with PayPal, but when trying to add new/different payment methods, all I could see was how to add another credit or debit card. Does anyone know if it's actually possible to pay with PayPal?

I was able to use it for my non-subscription Hellbreakers PDF, but I don’t think you can on subs.

I just hope we get the Starfinder planar book that we never got in Starfinder 1e before edition had to end suddenly :'D I think I remember hearing it was planned at some point, but hey we can still get a 2e one and it won't need as much rewriting due to remastering now...

Hmmm. If that's the case, it may very well be the end of my subscriptions - there's little point in being subscribed to everything you want if you can't get a discount on them. Maybe it will workout for getting core rulebook PDFs cheap? I have a hunch it won't though. Combine that tarrifs, DHL surcharges, and the cancellation of the Legacy Advantage and its looking more and more likely it will be cheaper to just buy the PDFs and pickup whatever I want hardcopies of from my FLGS.

I have to say, I have been utterly disappointed in everything to do with Paizo Plus program. I still love Pathfinder and Starfinder, I have deep respect for the writers, developers, and customer service at Paizo. I'll keep supporting the company and the game - but this leaves me with a very bitter taste in my mouth.

Given that Ruins of Azlant and Shades of Blood are both things, I would hope Talmandor's Bounty, the Azlant islands, and the Aracdian Wake get a good chunk of this book.

Definitely want to see a big exploration of what’s on the ocean floor. I was a huge fan of Cerulean Seas back in the day and while this book won’t have the same energy, as much as could come back as possible would be great.

It doesn’t and it’s been a frequent source of frustration for me and others since the new store launched. It also does not warn you if you are about to purchase a PDF you already have. Hoping it gets rectified soon.

I can't find out which products I own and which I don't own, it's not displayed in the store anymore. (it was in the old store and I used that to follow my collection as I own 2/3 of all pathfinder pdf.

I know I've harped on this in a couple places, but I would trade the entire new store to have this back. It is near impossible to navigate which products I do and do have without it - it is certainly now requires far to much effort for me to even consider picking up the parts of Paizo's back catalogue that I don't own. If it is creating that much friction for consumers, I would consider it a major problem that requires a priority fix. Being able to see which PDFs you on on the store front and receiving an alert in your cart when you try to purchase something you already own is a basic functionality of a modern digital store front.

Also because while exact dates are fun for nerd purposes and great for worldbuilding a novel, having more degrees of freedom allows different tables to nail down specific dates to help tell the stores they want. So going to your character’s backstory… what dates would make the most compelling story for that character? Is the rest of the table okay with pinning those dates down? If so, you have the dates you need.

Supporting what others have said, having physical/PDFs as different entries and no longer being able to see what is in our library on the store front is a major QoL loss. The new store is much prettier, but much harder to navigate. I could handle the former if I could see what I already had at a glance and filter by physical vs PDF, but as it stands it is very difficult for me to use this storefront.

Aside from the DHL Express guy not ringing at my work and therefore me having to get the package from a DHL service point half an hour away, things went surprisingly well. Shipping for the Draconic Codex and the AP volume was USD 40, which is not that much above the normal and the books arrived in four days. Also no customs extra charge, although that is a flip of a dime with the stupid system we have in Germany.

Having tracking is great, so I don't want things changed back for everyone, if Paizo decides to listen to the people who don't like the new system.

Yeah, tracking proved to be invaluable for me too. Still not sold on DHL and wish upfront communication had been better, but having it as an option would be better than not

What was the intended outcome/goal here? That's the part that hasn't been clear to me.

So I cannot claim to know what was Paizo’s mind, but I do have some positives from this shipment. A big one for me was the ability to track my order. I’ve very rarely gotten that with PAIZO shipments and it was huge. Also, that has to be the fastest I’ve ever gotten my books.

I will also note that I did not pay any tariffs on top of DHL’s customs - the application of tariffs to my orders has been inconsistent, so I don’t know if the custom covered that - if it did, I’m fine with that. I paid $19 in tariffs for just Crypt of Runes, so $25 for Draconic Codex and Into the Apocalypse Archive is bearable. If next time this turns out to be in addition to tariffs or continues after tariffs end - that’s a very different story.

I must agree. There is no doubt to me that Paizo wants and care about a good relationship with customers, but fees I did not sign up for and was not made aware ofmake me reconsider if a subscription is financially viable. At this rate, it may actually be cheaper to buy PDFs separately and just buy direct from my FLGS. But that decreases my chance of getting hardbacks at all.

Legacy Paizo Advantage and Legacy Paizo Advantage - Adventure Path subscriber rewards are being carried over into the new store. We'll be sending an email out to those customers once we have migrated their accounts and subscriptions over to the rewards in the new store; it is not an automatic process. Both of those groups are customers that have maintained an active Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription since the launch of Pathfinder.

Can please we get an update/clarification on this? Totally understand that it is a process that will take time, so if it’s coming it’s coming, but there were several replies pointing out that there people with Legacy Paizo Advantage who weren’t subscribers since the start. I am certain I am not alone in wanting to know if we will be getting that discount going forward, especially in light of increased shipping costs and rising international tariffs.

I just redownloaded and am still getting the watermark and email.

Yeah, I’ve got that too in mine. That person may not be thrilled about their email being tied to everyone’s PDFs either.

Still completely unable to download pdfs on Mobile from the new Library.

Give Vivaldi a shot. It worked for me for mobile browsers.

You definitely aren’t alone and from the sounds of it, I don’t think you have been. This is the main post on the December thread. The 15-20% figure is from 4.5 hours ago, so maybe we are sitting around 60-70% now, but it could be lower.

Subscriptions kicked off later than we expected and are continuing to process now. As this is the first run under the new system, we're not exactly sure how long it will take to get through the entire subscriber list. It looks like we're about 15-20% done now.

We are also investigating why PDF copies are not being correctly delivered. I'll provide an update as soon as I have one.

[2 p.m. update] We have a potential fix in for the PDFs not releasing upon charge. We will manually grant them when the subscription run finishes for everyone if that fix isn't working. We still have quite a few subscriptions processing.

[4 p.m. update]: We've identified the source of PDFs not being delivered and corrected it. Subscriptions continue to process and we will fulfill missing PDFs when that process is complete, which we expect to be on Tuesday.

I thought that the people who have been constant AP suscribers since the first volume are the Charter suscribers and Paizo Legacy Advantage was another program for long-time suscribers, who also were suscribers during the first edition period? Now I am confused.

Agreed, and this feels like this is the source of miscommunication that has been plaguing this changeover. My 2e receipts have always shows the Legacy Paizo Advantage as their discount and I am solidly a subscriber since Hell’s Rebels

If the Legacy Advantage discount had to be skipped for this month, no biggee, but I'd really like it to be applied again for the next AP volume, which will be the first quarterly one. Also, still not in the correct tier, I should be Legendary. But I think they are still working on that.

tons of civilization were built on regular predictable annual flooding. that should help keep soil renewed and fertile.

Water alone just washes away the top soil.

Unless the water leaves fertile mud, it will actively harm fertility. And that mud has to come from the right conditions upstream.

Also, few buildings and few trees can exist in the flood plain.

On top of all that, the Nile is a supremely bad example to cite as flooding = agricultural productivity since it was almost freakishly predictable and calm. The Yellow River is key to China’s development of agriculture, but it’s floods also earned it the moniker “China’s Sorrow” because of how utterly destructive and vicious it could be. Flooding rivers are not a safe things to live by, people did it out of necessity. The Nile is the exception rather than the rule, as is the River Sphinx on Golarion by extension.

As succinctly as possible - the golem’s got it. Immensely pleased to see it get a proper write up rather than be the OGL’s name for random constructs.

Different issue - I got my next subscription order email, but it says Crypt of Runes is shipping, not Into the Apocolypse Archive. I THINK this in error, but it would defintely be a thing to be double checked.

The Starfinder Adventure Subscription on the new store says "Tales From the Vast." I think that is all we know so far.
