Hey guys, sorry for the disappearance act. :( However, as you have noted, things have slowed down a bit, and it's my fault. I need to take a break and recharge and come back to posting once per day. Slower posting just does not seem to engage me. Let me take a few weeks off. I have vacations coming up during the summer that may not be conducive to starting things up again but you never know. You'll hear from me no later than August, maybe earlier. Thanks for hanging in there and this is not a 'goodbye' but a 'I'll see later'. Fabian

Damon Grimm wrote: "Sosiel, what do you know of these demon swarms? Is it common for them to gather in such great numbers together?" Damon asked the advisor most knowledgeable about the Demons they are facing. Sosiel pondered things for minute and just observed the ever-moving cloud of vermin, "I think I have an idea, but it's Aron who needs to see this." He quickly called the young scout. Aron nodded and spat on the ground even as he shivered at the sight of the countless insects, "I've dealt with these before and was lucky enough to have served with a very wise wizard. He said that if the swarm was unusually large, it implied the presence of a vescavor queen nearby. These large monsters typically lie at the heart of an underground complex, where they spend months repeatedly spawning ravenous swarms before exiting the caves to hunt and seek a new lair." Aron continued, "When a vescavor queen is deep in her spawning, the surrounding area becomes inundated with the swarms, as we see now." Sosiel nodded, "That's what I thought. So if the queen can be found and slain, the swarms will quickly dissipate, allowing us to move onward toward Drezen." tag? A few more minutes identified several large holes in the dry riverbed from the swarms entered and exited the underground. The 'holes' became free of the vermin every few minutes as the swarms gathered above ground. Aron pointed to a 5-foot hole about 80 feet away, "There. That seems like a way to get under this mess and see what's underneath." tag?

Cheshire Silvanshee wrote: Is the right front tower connected to the other tower by walkways? Can you see people on them from the courtyard? OOC: Yes, the towers are connected by 'walls' that are at a lower level than the top of the towers. It would require a couple of relatively easy skill rolls to travel from tower to tower. DC 10 checks: strength/climbing for getting down from top of tower to 'wall';
Of course these skills may have advantage if you get creative. Questions? Game on!

Kasana Windfoot wrote: Is the staircase mentioned in the recap a new one or is it the same one Kasana used to get up to the 3rd level? Also does the trap door simply lead down to the second level? It's the one used to get to the third level. The trap door leads to the ramparts above the tower. Kasana Windfoot wrote:
The previously invisible leprechaun appeared, "Wine, of course. Red wine. Don't you know 'good booze' when you see it?" The leprechaun were quickly losing their faith in their new allies, "As to what we can do... we can conjure illusions... turn invisible... distractions! We will not endanger ourselves..."

Kokam, did you use that second bardic inspiration I gave you near the end of the last fight or is it still available? You're right; I corrected it. It's 'light wounds'. And yes, you're in for a tough fight. I downgraded a regular nabassu (CR 15) to CR 10, but it's still tough so be careful. Questions? Game on!
