Yes, hopefully it's nothing serious. Should we consider shopping for a new GM?

Ezya is wondering if he should be taking notes when the villager bursts in wailing about fire. Fire!!! He is excited. Is that appropriate? Of course, he's excited to help but his curiosity is so intense right now he might overtake the others to get outside and see what's going on!

He does however turn back and retrieve his Hurdy gurdy. He can't do any of his nifty tricks without it. At least not as easily.

I just want to clarify that that whole deal with the shimmering force field is supposed to be a mage armor spell that I cast at the beginning of the day. I always use a spell slot first thing in the morning for mage armor.

Adventurers.
Heroes.
Even in Ezya's distracted, jumbled mind, the words stood out like comets in a crowded sky. The desperation in the Goblin's voice was so heart-wrenching. The would appear as gods if that was what she needed to see. He kept walking. The only way through life was forward...

...well not literally of course, there might be magic powerful enough for time travel. And Portals! Although one always wondered how those were made. Could it be...

"Thank you! Actually it is not part of the act, it's my armor! Wait! Is it gone?"says Ezya. He stops and pats himself down. "Oh Thank Calystria, it's still there." The shimmer returns. You notice that it catches the light inconsistently. He smiles at the dog before continuing the walk.

Ezya picks up the coins and stares at them in wonder, as if it were treasure. He snaps out of his moment when he sees Karen striding off to the village hall. He gathers up his things and hastily runs after her.

"Karen, Kari, Cris, Harley and Baros," said the Blond. "My name is Ezya! Ezya Danver. Pleasure to meet all of you. I don't know what lies ahead of us but as long as the company's good, even the worst quest is still somewhat...," His train of thought cuts off as he suddenly looks around perplexed. "What happened to the music? I could have sworn..."his eyes widen as he suddenly returns to where he stood before. He turns the crank and presses the keys on his instrument and sings a mid-tempo drinking song appease his small audience. You notice a slight shimmer on his clothing and for a moment is seems as if there were a thin layer of crystal coating his entire person.

I'd like to make a performance check

Perform: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Suddenly the music stops as the Blond youth rushes over to the halfling, the gnome, the two half-orcs and the barmaid.

"So this is the right place for the call for heroes?!?! Thank Desna, Calystria and Caeden! I thought I was in the wrong place!" He leans forward and whispers "There's hardly anyone here."

He is wearing a yellow and brown doublet over a plain white shirt. His loose reddish trousers and tucked into a pair of simple boots. Strapped to his back is what looks like a very long and thin scimitar. In his hands he carries the instrument he was playing, the strings seems to be inside while on the outside are a turnable crank and a set of keys.

A handsome blond youth is is talking to one of the staff:
"So there are these gates which allow elves to reach the ancient homeland of Sovyrian...
...Sovyrian is where the elves originally come from. What? I'm a half-elf! Well, two thirds but it's just easier to say half...

What was I saying? Sovyrian! Instantly! But the Elven homeland is so far away! You can't even get there via teleportation magic!

...Teleportation is when you move from one point to the other instantly...

...Magic is just what we call supernatural..."

It takes him a while to realize that the server has already moved on to another customer. Oh well! He picks up his hurdy-gurdy and starts playing. The song is dramatic but not too intense. He wants to add a bit of life to this place without annoying the few people here.

I've been selected to another game but thanks for the opportunity!

Well you can try to ask Ezya where he's from but he keeps going off on tangents. The most you can gather is that he is from outside Cheliax and at least some of his family are Varisians. He has travelled widely for someone so young and seems very worldly but there are obvious gaps in his knowledge around which he tries to dissemble.

He is nice though, and very likeable.

Well I'm still filling out my character sheet. I guess I'll be the party mage & rogue which is why I'm glad I picked polymath. I'm tempted to take a sorcerer or rogue dedication (or both!) but I also want to see how far the new Bard chassis can go on its own. The spell list looks very well-rounded and the polymath muse allows for really good options as well.

Ezya is not from Breachill but if anyone would like to be a relative, the House of Danver loves adopting new people!

I need to withdraw from the selection process. I've been chosen for one of the other campaigns. Best of luck to everyone!

Yay!

Awesome! Looking forward to a great game.

So I realized in another thread that I forgot to add Ezya's alignment and background. He is a Neutral Good Hellknight Scholar.

Oops, I see I forgot a couple of details:

Ezya is a Neutral Good, Hellknight Scholar.

Sorry to hear that! Hope the child is feeling better. Take your time.

This is Sha'ir's Alias, I posted earlier about wanting to play a bard?

Here I am!

Ancestry: Half-elf
Class:Bard
Muse:Polymath
Role: Skill-monkey, utility/support caster, mild combat, social stuff.

Ezra Denver is effervescent and dilettantish. He claims that a human relative of his joined the Hellknights but cannot say which order. While he has no intention of joining them, Ezya would love to compose an epic about a suitably dark and brooding Hellknight hero. He loves doing research but his tendency to get distracted is slowing things down. For instance, Ezya can make magic! It came up entirely by accident but a lot of the esoterica he's been perusing added up to his telekinetically throwing a pebble at a poor rat. Purely by accident of course! But he is still very much focused on the Hellknight...
...actually Ezya has been figuring out how to handle an even curve blade. One would think it were just the same as a scimitar but no! He thought of asking his Elven great grandfather but they're not that close...
... also he has been practicing paleography. People wrote so differently in the past! There are hand written texts which almost come across as another language entirely...
... Ezya always likes to quote how the Varisian words for 'home' and 'journey' are the same. He loves that! Home is what he can carry with him as he travels Golarion. Although, that old Hellknight castle might be nice to shack up in for a while...

Hi, I'm super-intrigued by the Age of Ashes games popping up. I love the Bard beyond all classes and would love to see how it plays in this new edition.

Since there seem to be a lot of Bards, I might also play a Local Scion Human Redeemer of Erastil who focuses on Shield bashing as a healer/tank plus, of course, ranged combat. He might multiclass into Fighter.

Dors Teriel is the son of the local Blacksmith. Known for being endlessly patient, Dors surprised no one by taking an oath to Erastil. He is devoted to his community sees himself as its protector. Dogs knows he's not the best warrior but Faith and Clarity give him strength as much as bow and armor.
