Ethan's stance is hard for anyone other than Julia to read; Julia though can see that the sand ninja clearly knows more prana bindu than any man she has ever met. His ki is visible to her seeming to swirl beneath his skin, and there is far far more of it than when they met.

"No sir, we are not. We are not saying that at all. We will obey our orders." "But we also have the ability to do better than our orders. We can load up the three trucks with as much cargo as possible; maybe we even slow them down, maybe it even takes them 45 minutes to get to town, so be it; but they will arrive there with more spice, and they will get there carrying our water debt if we are dead. "We will not, however, be dead: if we get enough room inside the truck, the truck is almost a structure. We could empty all remaining cargo out of the truck, place it underneath, and then steal ourselves against the storm inside, possibly even erecting tents inside to ensure our survival."

Was any attempt made to maximizw the load of the 3 trucks in order to minimize the potential lose of the cargo left behind? Thinking like the Duke Leto ornithopter scene, where they throw out the shield generator components to save all the harvester workers. It would make the remaining truck an excellent decoy tbh. Just wondered.

Sister Julia wrote: Sister Julia didn't expect to be privy to the terms the guild would be offered but it had to be generous. The problem was history taught that the hearts of greedy men were not to be trusted, so she asked, "Will bribrary be enough? Should we seek additional leverage that can be used to ensure long term compliance? Something to do with the spice perhaps, it is the most valuable substance in the galaxy and the guild will be complicit with any smuggling..." "or perhaps something to do with the Houses ... the greedy have no courage when they are threatened politically." KNOW(Nobility): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Elta Tabr wrote: Once family is done, Elta approaches the body. He looks down and says "I didn't know Ghir long, but he was a very important part of my life. He helped set Ethan and I free from the outworlders. I take this paracompus to remind me of the freedom he gave me, the freedom to roam this world."
"Where I was born, the traditions of mourning often give water to the dead." Seemingly from nowhere, the young man brandishes a water ring clearly worth about 5 litres. "Where I was re-born, the traditions of mourning praise Shai-Hulud, through which we are eternal." From another place of nowhere, Ethan produces one of his crysstars, its edges gleaming like the tooth of The Maker. There is more than one gasp from the assembled. "Ghir spoke first. When The Ladies of The People needed aid, Ghir spoke first. I listened. I learned from Ghir the meaning of having meaning, the meaning of leading when leaders know the way. I take nothing in this moment, Ghir's gift is within in me; I leave these small tokens with him so that he will flourish in eternity." The water ring and the crysstar appear, again from nowhere, at the apex of Ghir's tribute pile. Ethan too seemed to move from nowhere, standing as though he had never moved from Elta's side.

“I live in balance. Balance is the mind-healer. Balance is the little-life that brings all life into clarity. I will hold my balance. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it is firmly rooted, I will turn my inner eye upon its path. Where balance is rooted , all is possible. From there I become unstoppable.”

I think the actual play should be both; Kasit can pull up next to them, we can make small talk, and we can seem to drive away ... all the while Ethan will have slipped out invisibly AND stealthily to tell the lead female that we will pick them up in half a kilometre or so whereever there is an outcropping or something.

"Wow Elta, a Freman who likes to watch ... guess we should have put on more of a show." There's an air of mischief to the young "man's" smile."Let's fix that; these disguises only appealed to the dogs from Giedi Prime anyway." He begins, once again, to change his clothing, this time removing the accoutrements of its femininity for Borak "My birth name is Ethan, and my sietch name in Tabr is Lusu, the flourish at the apex of a pillar. Now that we know we could be brothers, use my birth name until we share water." Ethan turns to Ghir when he is done changing, "I would counsel against too much tossing of lasguns; although the odds are slim, it wouldn't do for one to go off or overload ... that would be a bad thing."
