If anyone else in the group had stepped forward, Eldgrim would have protested. Oddly enough, he feels like the Elf can handle himself, at least long enough for one of them to catch up with him. Arright, but th' Saervant 'ere or myself will follow.

Eldgrim hangs his Dorn-Dergar on a hook on his hip and limbers up his shoulder for a moment. After he's done he braces himself on a corner of the sarcophagus and gives it a test push before putting his back into it. Far be it from him to just shove away and find out the whole thing is counterbalanced. It just wouldn't do to wind up on his rump. After the test push he maneuvers the sarcophagus into position with Kyle's help. One... Two... Three... Heave!

Knowledge: Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 Eldgrim moves to the center of the room. If trouble is coming from anywhere, he figures, it'll be from there. Can I ready an action with a broad trigger. i.e. Action: Smash whatever comes out of the sarcaphagus with my Dorn Dergar. Trigger: A thing comes out of the sarcaphagus

Eldgrim will move forward with a purpose, standing at the entry to the corridor just past the alcoves. He keeps a wary eye out while covering his companions as they search. He says over his shoulder, surprisingly not bellowing, S' Ever'one a'right?

Eldrim steps forward, positioning himself between the last wolf and as many allies as he can. He then swings the head of his Dorn Dergar at the White Wolf. Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

For the wolves, don't you have to roll a separate trip check after hitting? Eldgrim swings the massive head of his Dorn Dergar at the second wolf. Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Posting this now, as I'll be away for some time after. Eldgrim is taking a 5' step into J10 after he stands and attacking the White Wolf with reach. If the White wolf advances to J10 before Eldgrim's turn, he'll try to smack it with his Boulder Helm. Also, Eldgrim will be staying still at that point and just attacking with his helm defensively. Eldgrim stands, provoking the wolves to attack Wolf2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Thankfully none of their blows manage to make it through his armor. Eldgrim steps around the wolf threatening his right and attacks the winter wolf. Attacking Defensively: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 4 = 3
Eldgrim has a +2 to AC for the next round.

Eldgrim moans as his wounds leak his heartsblood onto the tunnel floor. Stabilize: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 Fortunately, it looks like his fine dwarven metabolism is keeping most of the harm in check for the time being.

'M wi' th' Saervant. I'm nae goin' tae fin' gol' nor glory. 'M goin' tae protect th' paeple o' Diamon' Lake from whate'er may be in those tombs. The dwarf is avoiding the topic of undead tools all together, as is obvious to anyone that might notice. He's certainly not comfortable with the idea, but has to pray on it for a while.

I'm more than willing to follow along at that. If the party'd prefer the grumpy dwarf paladin not follow along, he can stay at the bar and see how far his gold can take him. I certainly don't want to ruin anyone's fun while acting as "moral compass."

Kyle, Breda, Queslin and Tara all strode out of the tavernwith the map and a purpose. Eldgrim is at the bar getting another drink, ignorant of both map and purpose. The last he knew, Kyle was talking about tomb raiding, but at this point Eldgrim is convinced that Kyle has some unscrupulous purpose behind the suggestion. I'm fairly sure that the only PC interaction Terrin has seen was the quick exchange with Eldgrim after Eldgrim left the table with the others. Having typed all that out. It's feasible that Eldgrim could follow the other four to make sure Kyle doesn't do harm. Though he was really expecting some greater Evil to be faced.

When the idea of heading into the tombs arises, DIgger will comment If'n the dead be res'less I be happy tae haelp. In response to Kyle's antics, Ye cannae be offended when folk're put off by ye. Ye're offensive to ever'one ye meet. P'rposefuly, 't seems. Queslin wrote: "I have done no such thing. I believe that it would be best for us to not come into contact with one another." He points his chin at Queslin as if to punctuate his statement.

Eldgrim catches the pint and takes a long pull. Ahh. Tha's tha stuff. He strides forward and offers a meaty hand by way of greeting. There's an earthy smell to him. It's not unclean. it's more like freshly turned soil in a field. Thank ye lass. Names Eldgrim. Frien's call m' Digger. An' anyone tha'll gi' me a drink is a frien' s'far 's 'm concerned. It almost seems like he's repressing a deeper accent. Like this is about as clear as he can get. If you guys want me to post translations of what I'm going for with the accent, feel free to say so. I'm trying for highland accent. As is often portrayed in dwarves all over fantasy.

A squat pale swarf with bright red hair matching his bright red beard somps his way into the tavern. Everything about him just seems heavy. His clothes are sturdy. His beard hands in heavy braids. His footsteps rattle the floorboards. Even his voice sounds weighed down. "I'll 'ave a pin' ah stoat." He slaps a silver piece on the bar and looks about the tavern. |
