Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Not much else to do as a goblin I suppose.... 0_o

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Well done, Rahiv. The big man places his hand on Rahiv's shoulder

However, I agree that we all could use some repose. Let's make all due haste back to the Fort and pray to all our gods that nothing else happens.

He shifts his eyes to Pekoe lying motionless on the floor.

Here, help me lift her up...

Ekran secures his shield to his back and unsheathes his sword, sticking it into the ground point down. He cradles Pekoe in his off-hand arm and then grasps his sword and rests it on his shoulder.

Gather your things, we shouldn't press our luck. He says the last bit with a pale smile.

"Do we need to?" Joza replies, looking uncertain. "Last time we were there we resupplied so we could stay out here longer. Unless Voyla or someone really needs to return for something..." her voice trails off.

Well, maybe just a short regroup at the very least. We can let Voyla bath and fill in Hellknights. Progress can be rewarding to the right ears

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Well done, everyone. Well done. Perhaps Joza is right, perhaps we should regroup at the Fort? What say all of you? Even just for a night..

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Belated congrats on the job Joza!

Sorry I've been away. The mid-terms this semester have killed me. I got better of course, but yeah. blah.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Total defense next round. I won't attack unless someone/thing comes out of the door looking to kill.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

AMBUSH!!!, bellows Ekran. He raises his shield and rushes in front of Voyla to block any further attacks to their newest companion.

Aid another, defending against attacks

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran scratches his chin pondering everyone's points before making his thoughts known...

Fighting from the high ground is usually easier, so if something comes up from below to follow us up the rest of the tower, we would have the advantage. I vote to go up as well since we know it's finite, we don't know how deep the stairs go however...can anyone make some crude trap so if someone or something comes up we can hear them advance?

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

We should stay on guard, maybe even keep your weapons at the ready just in case...let's pair up too while we search the rest of the ruins.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Oops! Add 1 to the attack. I didn't account for my BAB

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Thanks!

Ekran advances on the filthy bugger, a warm smile etches itself across his face.

Come, come friend! You look famished! Please enjoy this feast I have prepared for you.

With that Ekran swings his sword at the Skizzert.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Can Ekran attack Skizzert from his current position?

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Ekran's eyes go wide. "Yes, my friend"

Ekran hefts his sword and advances to his new friend.

GM:
Bluff: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran attacks Mr Blue again!

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Not liking the position that he's stuck in, Ekran attacks the gobbo standing between him and the spellcasters. (Light blue)

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran steels his gaze on the goblin who voices shrieks as the final part of its ghastly incantation is complete.

Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

A wash of terror flows over his body, but like a drunken nightmare, it fades away to nothing

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Let me survey the map and I'll go on my turn.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

If I'm the worst one hurt, I'll take the pro-offered potion.

If you all insist and no one has any objections...I'll take it.

This quiet is troublesome. We should make use of this short reprieve.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Happy New Year! Let's hope this year is fantastic!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran regains his senses quickly as re recognizes that the sounds of battle still rage on!

Hoooph! That one kicks like a mule! My eternal thanks, Rahiv!

Ekran adjusts his shield to his arm and stands.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

If he has enough movement to make it, Ekran will move up to Clanky and make an attack.

Hey, Clanky! What's today's secret word!?!

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

And if it makes contact

Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Rahiv wrote:
I have cast reduce person on you my childe.

One thousand thank yous, oh benevolent shaper of form.

*bows deeply*

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Crap. I am now eating the entire Spire! I don't even know what I did. Can someone shrink me down again?

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekron moves in to stand behind Rahiv. Peering over his head, he "oh's, ahh's and grunts" trying to figure out how to get at the little bugger.

Cripple it, before it gets too far!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

So, 1:44 AM, but Happy Thanksgiving to all those that celebrate it and to those that I still wish you well! Be safe everyone.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran will take follow after Dav

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran moves up to the goblin and strikes at him as he flees.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Providing, of course, that he has the time to move and attack

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

A healing potion will come in handy in these treacherous ruins. By Abadar's beard, we'll need it.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Aye, Dav. My sword is hungry for goblin necks today. Tricking the tricksters sounds like an excellent tactic

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Until the others are ready, Ekran continues to hold the door shut.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Aww, good luck! :( I'm sure you'll get something soon.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Yes! Happy happy birthday to your daughter!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran continues to brace the door with his broad back he holds his sword in front of him waiting to attack any surprises.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Nodding to Pekoe, Ekran braces his back against the door and digs his heels into the dirt to brace the door shut. He holds this sword at the ready for any oncoming attack.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Yes, thats it exactly! I also tried to move my token last night, but I could not. Thanks Joza!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran nods at Rahiv's warning and positions himself on the opposite end of the door. As quietly as he can muster, he unfastens his shield and lays it by his feet. Gripping his sword in both hands he steels himself to attack the first thing that bursts through the entrance.

Ekran readies an action to attack the first thing that comes through the door.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran shifts into a battle stance rather fluidly (for a man of his bulk) and readies himself to attack the first thing the bounds out of that door.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Yes, just keep going until something jumps out and gobbles us up

Whispering to his friends.. Indeed, if trouble hits us let's put them in a pincer maneuver...one of us on either side. Maybe that'll give us a better chance of us hurting them more than they can hurt us back.

Ekran turns his head slightly back and forth, listening for danger...

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Well done!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

I must admit I agree with Dav...a stealthy and swift strike may be our only hope of entering the Spire. Maybe even just a good, strong "throat-punch" could do the trick. Oh! Does anyone have a tanglefoot bag? We could cram it in his pie-hole!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Bwahahah!!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran listens intently to everyone's feedback and nods affirmative.

Good points, all. How about this: if Joza can help us find a thicket of trees or shrubbery, not too close or far from the Spire, we can make a partially secluded base camp. We can wait until nightfall (sleeping or preparing booby-traps around our perimeter). Our new scout Pekoe can find us a different entrance and when darkness comes, we make a break for it.

Ekran gives pause to allow the others to approve or give alternate attack plans.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Let's do it!

That's the spirit lass! I'm afraid I'm as quiet as a one-legged golem in a bell foundry...so we're relying on you to help us get the drop on the enemy. But I'm sure you're more than capable. he says the last with a wide grin. :-D

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Agreed. Who will scout ahead a bit to let us know that we're relatively safe?

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

It seems that I have enough for a heavy mace. Going with that as a secondary blunted weapon.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran would also want a one handed blunt weapon. I have to wait until I get home today to see if he has any money to spare.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Ekran rises earlier than most people expected, including himself. He finds a small area behind the stables and goes through various combat drills and fighting stances. He finds a small stick and also runs through one and two-handed sword techniques against invisible foes. Satisfied that he performed the maneuvers accurately enough, he jogs back into the inn for some breakfast only to find his companions already gathering...

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Oh no! Sorry to hear that Dav! I hope your doggie recovers quickly.

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

Agreed, we got a practice in and we all lived to tell the tale! Any battle that one can walk away from is a victory in Abadar's eyes. If we come up with a few sound tactics and battle plans we can definitely get more accomplished (and more loot!)

He then takes a moment looking both Zinli and Rahiv in the eyes respectively...

And don't let me hear that anyone was useless in combat! Just because you don't swing a big weapon or call down rocks from the sky onto our enemies, doesn't mean you did nothing! We are all alive thanks to everyone's collective efforts. I say we continue that streak!

Male Human (Taldan) Fighter 1

We can go together. Between the two of us, maybe we can haggle a good deal.
