"Nay Bertrand, one does not simply find thy foes. Proper preparation is the difference between victory and failure. Let us find a suitably offering, it shall not take long if we combine our efforts. Very well, let us begin our search, let us see what offerings we find. The fate of our offering is not in our hands but in the hands of the Nosferatu. Do not burden yourself with such worries. says Edward looking to the badly beaten Lachlan for support.

"As you can see it has ended, and there is naught to resolve. There was an argument and it has reached its end. You may return and report that." Edward returns to his companions. "Well fought Ser Lachlan, remember that every joust is not won. You have fought with honour. Now we have a pressing task to accomplish." Turning to the others he says. "Let us take a proper gift, I do not wish to be in the den of the creatures without suitable offering. If their taste is for younger blood then that is what we shall carry." "What sort of roll would we need to make to find a human teenager? Preferably someone the humans wouldn't miss or expect to go missing.

Edward keenly watches the dual between the two skilled opponents unfold but is suddenly distracted by movement at the edge of the room. Edward, concerned, immediately rushes after the departing valets, hurriedly saying to Edouard. "With me. Quickly!
Brujah | Generation 8 | Blood Pool 12/15 | Willpower 6/6
Edward sighs realising that his attempt to prevent this duel had failed before it had even begun. He steps out of the way saying, "Very well. Honour must be defended and insults answered. We shall bare witness. Choose your weapons. What shall be the terms of this dual?" -Posted with Wayfinder

Edward sees what is happening, something he has seen happen one too many times. "Good sirs, we have much work to do and dangerous enemies to fight. This matter of honour can be delayed. You will have your chance to settle this with steel if you so desire, but let us not let our petty desires interfere with the duty given by the Baron himself." Edwards says forcefully, trying to be the voice of reason in this escalating situation.
Brujah | Generation 8 | Blood Pool 12/15 | Willpower 6/6
"Pray tell how would those who by your words are not members of court offer an opportunity for such a petition? Nay, if we go, we go together and I do not think such a gift is within our power to offer." Turning to Edouard, "You mentioned that you assisted one of their kind in feeding. Do you recall of he had any particular preferences? Certain vessels he favoured above others?" -Posted with Wayfinder

Edward turns on hearing the voice of the new entrant. "Perhaps a gift of some sort would aid our cause and give the Nosferatu less reason to mistrust us. Under normal circumstances I would suggest an offer of feeding, though that would be a severe crime by the Baron's law."
Brujah | Generation 8 | Blood Pool 12/15 | Willpower 6/6
Edward thinks over the situation. "I dislike seeking out the sewer Cainites, but we face an enemy we know to be deadly and who dwells in places hidden. I fear the wisest course to be the the most distasteful. To find a hidden foe we must seek the aid of those who know well the real of the hidden. We shall seek them out. Now let us work together to track down these Cainites." "Lachlan speaks wisely. That cainite has other motives of seeking out the hidden Cainites. The Baron will not interest himself in the means of our success as long it is success we bring. We must find allies we can. The Baron uses the Gangrel after all. " I think a combined roll will be better. -Posted with Wayfinder

I don't mind going to see the Nos, but we have to find a way for it to have it make sense. It's not something the high clans would just do. Additionally, Lachlan is a staunch loyalist of the Baron, so it would be one difficult to convince him to do this, and second, if we do, to keep it from the Baron if required. But a little information gathering is always a good way to start. Opens our eyes to York a bit. What is really going on, or at least on very tainted opinion from a sewer rat.

Edward brings his hand to Bertand face with significant force, slapping him back handed. "Do not forget your place." he chastises and then suddenly says. "He does speak wisely. The low clans are low and the nosferatu the lowest. It is easier for them to keep their ear to the ground and hear things we perhaps do not. Let us find this cainite and see what he says. The Baron has trusted us with the task and we may chose to go about it as we please." "Gentlemen." he says turning to Vito and Lachlan. Our blades shall be required soon enough. Let us first find the place to strike." he adds giving the group something to think about.

Once the meeting ends: Before he retires to rest of the day Edwards meets with Jacque delivering his instructions to the ghoul, "We leave at dusk. We have an import mission for the Baron. Fetch our armour and other equipments and then get some rest. Give this note to Joseph, he will know what to do in our absence. You may need this for our task to come." Edward feeds Jacque 3 points of his vitae.

Edward starts to listen with little interest but immediate perks up at the mention of setites. "We shall not my Lord Baron. Such heathen filth shall be washed clean from your lands. I have dealt with their kind before and shall be glad to introduce them to the morning sun. I do worry though that Juliet Throvaux may not yet live and the young knight... these setites have no hesitation in performing amaranth." Edward pauses for a moments, enjoying the effect this might have on Lady Branch. "Regardless we shall deal with it and do what we can for the neonate. If we may learn where they first made haven in Whitby that would aid us."

Edward is disappointed at the news of being deprived of a chance to hunt lupines, but remembers who is before and does his best to hide his disappointment with a smile, hoping none of the elders noticed. He thinks for a moment, "Well I brought this on myself for defending the low clans." "My Lord Baron, I cannot say that a part of me is disappointed at the loss of the chance to hunt the lupine menace, though it is my pleasure to serve my Baron in any manner my Lord would have and I must confess that as a knight I would be hard pressed to resist the desire to rescue a damsel in distress." On thinking further, Edward realises, The Baron has played them perfectly. They are in no position to refuse whatever task the Baron seeks of them. The low bloods have just been granted their unlives which they would be foolish to throw away in the same night as they were granted. I have cannot refuse after my speech that of the low clans deserving a chance to prove themselves and turning my back when my baron asks me to perform such a duty. Neither am I in a position to negotiate myself out of this situation. Though it perplexes me. Why us? What service is it that such a group such as ours must perform. No doubt it could be one which would have up performing some unpleasant and likely fatal task, but why have his loyal servant Sir Lachlan included in such a party? Bah, too many question and no answers, all shall reveal itself in time. For now I must bear the task of missing out hunting lupines.

Edward observes the two cainites before him thinking, "These two are strange, but very entertaining I cannot deny. Though I am concerned for them. The dance of court, the unyielding need of the elders for respect and deference. These two low bloods have less than the sense they need to keep from meeting the sunrise. I do hope sincerely that they find some way to make themselves useful, that they may be of greater value than trouble.

Edward scowls at Edouard. "This child cainite yet has much to learn. Edward continues the conversation with Bertrand and Edouard. "This isn't bad if not just a bit on the bland side. I've been finding that I enjoy a more fiery sort. Not necessarily noble born or peasant but those with a zest for life, passionate, strong willed. There was this one noble lady, a young thing from France if my memory serves. She refused to marry some old Count her father has selected for her and made the journey to Outremer, to seek God's guidance in the matter. She was a fiesty thing. She had some very interesting thoughts for a woman, but her vitae, I have never tasted anything like it since. That was an interesting night rudely interrupted by the approaching dawn."

Edward nods as Bertand speaks, remembering the plight of those who were not heavy armed knights, but common peasants on the road. "Well you are now in York and we shall see if we can change your opinion of the place." he says handing him one of the goblets the servant brought over. Edward takes one for himself and hands the other one to Edouard, ""So my little one, what news from the street? Tell us what gossip you have heard and lighten up the mood."
Brujah | Generation 8 | Blood Pool 12/15 | Willpower 6/6
"Certainly. I do not wish to keep you from your own affairs Vito. I should enjoy a good conversation later and badger you for news from whence you came. News does take it's own time to reach York." Once the Lasombra departs Edward looks for one of the servants who is serving vitae and with a polite hand gesture signals the servant to bring them goblets of vitae. He then then turns to Bertand says more kindly than the Malkavian would expect, "Pray tell what tidings do you carry. What news from your travels?"
Brujah | Generation 8 | Blood Pool 12/15 | Willpower 6/6
"Interesting. A Lasombra. What brings him to York? Let us see what patience and politeness reveals." "Good evening Vito. I am Sir Edward, this is Edouard and this is Bertrand. We welcome you to York. A friendly work of advice. Speak with that impeccably dressed cainite bearing a staff in his hands and have him announce you when the Baron re-enters. Edward feel the beast rise up within him at the slight. He nearly bears his fangs controlling the involuntary urge to hiss at her. He pushes the beast back. "No, I shall just hope that you do meet a lupine one day. You can chase it away with exploits of goodly knights such as Sir Lachlan." Thinking better of creating an enemy of Lady Sian, Damned Ventrue scum and not wanting to steal the good knight's limelight he lets his stern expression give way to an amused smile. He makes his way over to Edouard and Vito, interrupting their conversation. "Hello Edwouard, will you introduce me to your new friend."

Noticing Edouard has worn out his welcome with the Tremere, Edward says to Lucien, "If you will excuse me good Sir, while I am enjoying our conversation I believe someone is need of rescuing lest he lose his head this night." Edward strides over towards Edouard but then notices he is speaking with someone else now and changes direction, approaching Elizabeth Banchar thinking, "Be careful little one. Do no irk the others. "My sire..." Edward stumbles, "He was fascinated by the old ways. He would say that we must learn the lessons of our elders, their achievements, successes and failures. He also believed that only through bettering ourselves could we build a better society and avoid the failures of the past. Improving the lot of the kine is an important part of that. I have started training my peasants in archery and in more profitable professions. It is an interesting experiment."
Brujah | Generation 8 | Blood Pool 12/15 | Willpower 6/6
Edward considers what Lucien has said, "I must agree with you. On the field of battle I have seen the high born cower with fear and commit terrible atrocities while those of the common stock have performed admirably. Fighting bravely to their death, slaying many of better brith before leaving this world. I wonder sometimes if such is true of the low clans. They are shunned, but not without their own powers and abilities. The Sheriff. He is Ventrue after all. From what the Prince said, I believe this night shall prove to be very interesting. In response to Sir Lachland Wemyss Edward says, "I see, well we shall discover more before the end of this night. You must visit at Pons Belli, I should like you to see my arena and spar with me, you are known to have some skill with the blade." and excuses himself. Edward approaches visiting knight, Lucien Arbaud, whom it is rumoured is of the Order of the Bitter Ashes. Not completely familiar with York Court tradition Edward bluntly says, "Sir, I do not believe we have been introduced, but as a fellow knight, if you forgive my etiquette, I thought it not completely out of place to introduce myself. I am Sir Edward of York of the clan Brujah, recently returned from the holy land" bowing at the end of his introduction. "How have you found your time in York thus far?"

Edward walks up to the Toreador and exclaims, "Sir Lachlan Wemyss. You dare show your face." says Edward in a serious tone, his voice slightly raised, drawing the attention of a few nearby cainites. Suddenly he bursts out into a laugh. "How have you been keeping. I must say I am glad for our Lord's generosity" he says motioning towards the goblet, "for I fear if we were to be out hunting, that handsome face and superb charm of yours would have all the noble ladies and tavern wenches frolicking to you I would be near torpor from thirst." he jokes.

"As always, my Lord has the right of it. To merely beat them or put them out of their misery because they are what they is not our way. Edward says respectfully.

This is my first World of Darkness game, so I'm not very familiar with everything though I've done a fair bit of reading, so I appreciate all the information. On being given audience Sir Edward speaks, clearly and confidently addressing the Lord Baron and the Primogen. "My Lord, I must agree with Sire Ashlington's wise and passionate argument and I would be much surprised to find any cainite of proper standing that would disagree. This situation... must be dealt with. I am reminded of the problem of peasants. Filthy, stupid, poor, weak. Certainly not fit to sit in our halls and feast at our table." He says laughing at the absurdity of such a thought. "But I am also reminded that it is they who till the land, they mine our gold and silver, quarry the rock and build our fortresses." He pauses for a brief moment, allowing the realisation to set in. "By such reason I am loath to admit they have their uses, but they must be kept in their place! My Lord made mention of important matters, perhaps these..." he says gesturing to Edward, Bertrand and the others, "may be of some use. My Lord is well renown on the field of battle and naturally understands the usefulness of troops on the van(guard)..." he concludes with a half bow and an evil smile spreading across his face, not needing to elaborate on the life expectancy of such troops. "Perhaps, such shall be sufficient to spare Edward's unlife. He shall be in my debt for the risk to my unlife to save his, which I hope shall be well worth the risk.
