We still have the scavenger's stone if we need to fix the golem, I suppose. We likely won't know until we report back to the Shoanti.

Almost.

A pair of Skoan-Quah boneslayers of history, Eddard notes as he steps cautiously into the room. Noble profession.

He looks about for anything broken or out of place. If nothing is readily apparent, he'll check out the incomplete stairway before withdrawing to the previous room.

North appears to be the left of the map, yes?

Following the animals and names Victor found, and that it's a linear progression in time, I propose the following order, bottom of map to top (which should be east to west, following the path of the sun):

Eagle — Story Seeker 4430–4571
Horse — Meadow Grass 4457–4482
Griffin — Meditates in Sunlight 4481-4565
Bat — Tranquil Shadow 4595–4692

Eddard reels as the Shoanti spirits treat him like invading Chelaxians. As the haunt fades away, he finds himself on the ground, curled up. Bouncing back to his feet, he runs his side with a wince. Never been beaten up by ghosts before, he says aloud. Can't say I'm a fan.

Trusting one of his team members to further sway Memory Tender with the information at hand, Eddard takes care to lurk until Togimal in Shadow is off to the side for a moment, then Stealths up to him to have a quiet conversation.

Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32

Persons such as we, understand the importance of solitude and quiet, sir, no? Eddard says in a low tone. We are men of action. Lies do not become us. So let us speak plainly. What do you expect from the Pathfinder Society here to sway your opinion of us? We have admitted the mistakes of one in our ranks and seek to make those wrongs righted.

Eddard listens carefully to what his companions have learned about the historian Memory Trader before approaching her again.

I have considered your words about a new element changing what has come before, he says. We have seen this in history, from the marching armies of Taldor and — the ratfolk grimaces — of Cheliax, how their presence changed the land just as surely as an earthquake or violent storm.

At the same time, Eddard continues, bending the sapling is sometimes not a bane to the tree, but a boon. So, too, can the introduction of a new element be — if it is not handled poorly, as our colleague has done.

Discovery, choose Strength, Kn (local) take 10 for 21.

Eddard will try Discovery on the historian (Memory Tender) to find out her influence skill.

History, as you know, is precious and its preservation is important to the Society, despite the actions of one rogue Pathfinder, he says, his nose twitching nervously. Yet holding an entire tribe responsible for the foolish actions of one member hardly seems fair. We are here to try and make things right, and ask your leave to allow us to do so.

So the Shoanti are spread throughout the Storval Plateau in northern Varisia, where they eke out a living in harsh, inhospitable conditions. They ain't no glamour folk, they're fierce. The Shoanti formerly inhabited much of southern Varisia, until they were forced northward into the Storval Plateau after bloody conflicts with Chelaxian colonists. This violent history has led to many Shoanti being mistrustful of outsiders. And really, who can trust a Chelaxian?

Kn (arcana) re: Gloomspires: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Eddard's eyes go wide (well, for a ratfolk) at the mention of the Gloomspires. The Gloomspires are an ancient field of massive stone columns that rise from the Arcadian Ocean, he squeaks. Most sages say they were already old when the Ghol-Gan Empire was young. The Gloomspires are hollow and contain many chambers and passages, all of which are believed to be cursed, monster-infested, or both.

Since the time of Ghol-Gan, many of the Gloomspires have been explored, and some have even been claimed and repurposed by other beings. Of these, Sevenfingers’s tomb is the most well known. TThe Gloomspires are inundated with strange, reality-warping effects. The columns occasionally shift their positions, and many explorers report feeling a sense of wrongness and foreboding just from being in the area. This bizarre magic also makes teleportation and plane-traveling magic very difficult, though summoning spells tend to function normally.

The Gloomspires were constructed during the Age of Serpents by a humanoid race of powerful sorcerers called the Makers, who are believed to have escaped enslavement from some nightmarish realm and fled to Golarion.
