Seeing his allies in fairly rough shape, Dwizzle does something quick and easy - he channels his holy might to mend their wounds.
As Dwizzle finishes, his voice is clearly hoarse from his sermon. "*cough* I can't... *cough* keep talking.. about.. Ra-Tor.." This clearly seems to be the most panicked Dwizzle has ever been, given his love of talking. Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle just narrowly ducks out of the way of the lightning orb as he wipes sweat from his brow. He continues to prattle on about Ra-Tor, but his voice is clearly hoarse . Somehow between his sermon and dodging lightning, Dwizzle utters a prayer to Ra-Tor.
Dwizzle Status:
With a loud *pop*, Dwizzle appears on the right side of the hardened glass. "Hmmm, uhh, that was... interesting." Not one to complain about being freed, Dwizzle yelps at the mummy smacks him. "Hogan! Smack it back! Harder!" Dwizzle sighs as the electric balls appear and begin shocking his friends.
Despite everything going on, Dwizzle continues to deliver a rousing sermon about the finer aspects of dwarvism.
Dwizzle Status:
"Hoo boy! Yeeee-ow!" Dwizzle swallows hard as Nebta-Khufre continues to toy with the dwarves. "Do not be concerned friends! Ra-Tor faced many challenges leading our great grandfathers from the Everdark!"
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle breathes a sigh of relief as he finally gets to explain the finer details of Ra-Tor, something he's been waiting impatiently to do. Well, at least for several seconds.
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle groans as Hogan takes yet another solid blow from the mummies. "Brother Hogan! I can't.. err, orate about his brilliant radiance, the mighty Ra-Tor if I need to keep asking him for blessings of healing to tend your wounds!"
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle grimaces as Hogan takes a larger-than-anticipated beat but nonetheless scampers ahead to assist his brother.
Dwizzle Status:
"Mummies!!" Dwizzle furiously waves his flag directly in front of Ankhef and Seherab's faces. "Dwarves aren't afraid of any mummies!!" Sighing when he realizes his words and flag have done little to bring his allies to their senses, he quickly grabs one of the scrolls he procured earlier from Ankhef from his magical backpack and reads it.
Dwizzle reaffirms the plan that Seherab put forth earlier. "If there are no traps or wards! Onward to glory, dwarven brothers!" He'll step up and ward Seherab, knowing he lacks the same defenses as Hogan.
Dwizzle recommends a trio of charges for Brother Hogan.
"Almost..." With a fourth gesture from Ankhef, he nods his agreement to continue.
Dwizzle scrambles over to Hogan (which is to say he moves a few feet) and works to stem the bleeding wounds on Hogan.
Dwizzle frowns at the fallen statue. "Well, that's a shame. He should've been on our side. Perhaps we should pick up a holy symbol of Anubis in the markets if we continue to delve into chambers warded by him once we finish solving the mystery behind the undead attacks on Wati?" Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle continues his tactic of waving his spear in the Anubi-statue's face. Somewhere in the midst, he makes a plea to the statue. "Oh great Anubis! We do not seek to destroy your great guardians! We seek to stop the undead menaces that surge into Wati above!"
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle leaps forward, waving his spear and flag. "And, as Ra-Tor would encourage at this point... HIT IT HARDER!"
Dwizzle Status:
This is totally due to Dwizzle putting together the loot sheet! Curse of the loot sheet work! Apologize no posts from Dwizzle since Thursday but the holiday hit here too. Sad to see this game go, as I was certainly enjoying the AP and filling Dwizzle's shoes.
Dwizzle continues to find even more inane facts and tidbits related to Ra-Tor to share with Hogan, this time explaining how Ra-Tor once quibbled with Anubis about who had the larger half of a sandwich and that in quartering the sandwich and then sharing the larger of the two remaining slices, he was able to make peace with the god of the afterlife.
Dwizzle Status:
"Oh! We wouldn't want to make it unhappy, especially since it sounds like it's on our side, wanting to fight against undeath and all that." Dwizzle gestures to the Celestial words. "Can anyone read those? They look all swirly and fancy. Seherab, seems like that'd something you could read? Maybe it has the command word for the statue? Hey! Maybe we can command it to help us!"
Dwizzle plugs his ears and winces with each successive strike made by Hogan's hammer, choosing to occasionally shout at Seherab during the process. "WE SHOULD GET YOU SOME MAGIC SCROLLS OR TOOLS SO WE DON'T NEED TO DO IT THIS WAY AGAIN!"
Squinting, Dwizzle looks across the room, his eyes accustomed to dark places, and seeing no other exits that would possibly lead them down corridors to things they seek. He turns and shrugs at the others. "Seems kind of moody? Should we leave it alone?"
Dwizzle stands for a moment, mouth agape as he observes the replica model of Wati. "That's the Asp! And that there is the Crook! Oh, I believe that makes that river the Sphinx!" Dwizzle continues mumbling to himself or nobody in particular. "Ahhh... the pillar must be Pharasma's Spire, judging mortal souls for their deeds. I'm quite certain all of us dwarves would be quite worthy, given our efforts to stem the tide of undead plaguing Wati. Pharasma, you know..." As the gargoyle animates and speaks, Dwizzle shakes his head and re-orients his attention after a moment to process. "Oh, greetings there, good Gargoyle! Please, I am Dwizzle Dandydweller and these are my four, errr.. three good dwarven allies!" Dwizzle bows low, earnestly professing much respect for any stranger that gives him the time to greet him/her/it.
"I don't suppose you've seen anything that could say, be offending our dear Lady Pharasma, say... an endless stream of undead minions wandering up towards the surface above?"
"What a tremendous find! Funds for our fight against the evil that lurks in the dark!" Dwizzle scoops up their latest finds into the party's haversacks. He follows closely behind Seherab and Hogan before realizing something. "Oh! Of course, we shouldn't all stand so close together... you know, in case Seherab does find a trap, or ward, or pit, or you know, something deadly!"
Dwizzle looks on with fascinated eyes as each curtain is pulled aside and the majority of alcoves each seem to contain a novel discovery. "Hey! This feels like it should be some sort of contest - guess what's behind the next curtain! Is it a basin? A sword-in-a-tree?" Dwizzle backs away from the spiked ball after he learns the chain fully functions, once again realizing he was this close to allowing his curiosity to unleash some horrific deathtrap.
Shrugging, Dwizzle's mind continues to race at the religious implications of each alcoves' contents as he rushes ahead to catch up with Hogan and Seherab.
Dwizzle takes a look, nervously recognizing some of the things in the chamber. "That's... kheper-wer... used in childbirth. You don't think there'll be like, err.. childmummies, or mumchildren beyond one of those doors, do you?"
Dwizzle, expecting something hostile beyond, reaches out and taps Seherab on the shoulder.
He then gestures at the doors for Hogan to toss open, assuming they are not further trapped.
"Yarrghh..." Dwizzle wonders what would have possessed him to move to investigate and decides to perhaps reconsider such actions in the future. "I'm bleeding! Oh, so are you.. and you. Well it seems we're all bleeding!" Dwizzle quickly applies a burst of holy Ra-Torian radiance to stem the loss before moving as far away as a pair of
"Oooh! Looks fancier down here!" Dwizzle pauses for a moment, knowing that they'll need to prepare a little better than usual, as fancier doors and mosaics means fancier guardians.
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle stands on his toes, continuing to gaze into Ankhef's pack. "Any sandwiches in there? Or any leftover schwarma?"
Dwizzle scratches his head for a moment before he snaps his fingers! "Aha! Don't you have a lot of scrolls that Teos purchased for you Ankhef? Perhaps we should dig through all those? Maybe we'll be surprised by how our fellow dwarf prepared us?" Once Ankhef discovers the scroll, Dwizzle encourages him to read it.
@Ankhef: Triple check your scrolls here too as this is one list I see. Teos also has you provisioned with a scroll of daylight, which is our only way to counter darkness at the moment. @Ankhef: If you are okay with it, remove 1 scroll each of remove fear, remove sickness and remove paralysis from your sheet once you catch them up. I'll add them to mine and thus we can spread out who can resolve those conditions in the heat of battle. Details:

@Hogan: There's a potion of spider climb in the party pool. I also think you should take that. If there's a need to quickly climb and engage an enemy, you're our best bet to quaff it and bring the hurt to where it needs to go. It will take me probably a few more days with an hour here and there to copy all of Teos's work over and audit it.
Another observation. If Seherab takes the lenses of detection (+5 competence to Perception and Survival), it appears it frees up his eyes of the eagle (+5 to just Perception). Both Hogan and Ankhef are a bit lacking in the Perception department, so one of you guys should grab those. It's nice when a front-liner gets to go in the surprise round (to block incoming enemies), so perhaps Hogan dons those?

Teos sums up all the scrolls you should now have here since this adds to some you already had. I imagine that lets us quickly deal with our blindness issue and press on without a detour up to Wati. We should probably divide up a few of those, since if you are feared or paralyzed, Dwizzle could use one of those on Ankhef. You also have more scrolls assigned to you here missing from your character sheet. :) I'm continuing to sift through the loot as there's lots of things Teos shows in the party pool that could be pretty useful. @Seherab: Any chance Dwizzle could wear the mithral chain shirt first? The mistmail would sadly move him to medium encumbrance (12.5 lbs vs 6.25 lbs). Not sure if Seherab has 6.25 lbs of carry capacity to spare?
I took an hour to put together a loot log since Dwizzle and Hogan joined the party. Ideally I'd find more time to dig through Teos's old sheet and understand where things were at, but I figure I could go through the thread and piece things together. Find the sheet here. How The Sheet Works:
It's just a running sheet that I append to at the end with dates, locations and monster/boss fights. So the lower in the sheet, the more recent the item was found/sold/traded/etc. Most valuables are sold and go into a party pool, then we agree to distribute the pool to individuals to spend at key times. @GMBold: I've made some assumptions: * When we bought the 900gp of emeralds for Shardizhad, we likely sold all the jewelry/baubles/etc we came into possession of since Hogan/Dwizzle joined. * We also sold a couple mundane items we had in the pool (screaming bolts, kukri, buckler) at half value. * We haven't had a "market trip" yet to sell anything found since. * This puts the party pool since Hogan/Dwizzle joined at 4440gp. @Party: We've found a lot of stuff that nobody has grabbed. I made some assignment assumptions on what I thought may be obvious loot assignments: 6/8

@Seherab: I noticed you had both mistmail and a +1 mithral chain shirt. Do you have any objection to loaning whichever you aren't using to Dwizzle for a nominal AC bonus over his lamellar leather?
Hey! I was wondering how you guys were doing for loot and I took a look at the loot sheet in the header. The "Striders Sheet" shows Ankhef has a scroll of remove blindness (row 18) and scroll of remove curse (row 19)! There's also this khopesh that seems to be in the "party pool" that Hogan might find useful - Natron's Fang ?
Recap - Making Sure I Got This Right:
We don't know what's downstairs, but I imagine it's either: a) nothing, so we can rest without fear of anything coming up b) something evil and bad, and going down with a cursed Hogan and blind Seherab could be a bad idea, and we'd want to prepare for it. Our dwarves do know that we are lacking preparedness for the things we are currently facing, whether it be resolving curses or removing blindness. We also have been lacking silver weapons. In my mind, a good dwarf prepares for a delve, and we have the firsthand experience now to go provision accordingly. Do we also need a scroll of shrink item to get that fancy mahogany table to a market? :)
From the hall, Dwizzle once again gestures to the stairs. "So, are we going down there? Isn't it a rule in the Dwarven Adventuring Handbook that the deeper you go, the more evil you find?" Dwizzle clears his throat. "Shouldn't we ensure Seherab can at least... see the steps down?"
Dwizzle takes a look at Hogan, who seems to still be grumbling something about "being cursed".
"Hmmm... not sure how long that'll last. But Ra-Tor could fix that up tomorrow too if it doesn't clear soon. Maybe 'Rabby or 'Ank can tell how long it'll last?" Dwizzle takes a couple steps down the hall and gazes at the stairs. "Should we finish up here with you blinded, 'Rabby?? Send a runner to the temple to pick up some scrolls while a few of us wait here?" Dwizzle shrugs then beams with optimism. "I'm sure there's nothing else dangerous or hostile here!"
Dwizzle claps his hands together! "Of course I can fix you right up, Brother Seherab! Get those old dwarven eyes picking out the glint of a gem at twenty paces in no time!" Dwizzle shifts a bit and clears his throat. "You'll, uh.. Of course, need to wait until ol' Ra-Tor bestows upon his daily blessings to me... err, uh... tomorrow?" Dwizzles last word seems to be more of a question than a statement.
Seeing Seherab engage the skeleton plaguing them, Dwizzle thrusts his spear in the monster's face, wagging it around in an effort to harry it.
Dwizzle, nonetheless continues to deliver his sermon. "And lo, Ra-Tor brought upon his enemies a swarm of locusts and bees!" Dwizzle swings the tip of his spear, punctuating the 'bees' line in the skeletal champion's face with a little flourish.
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle continues to sermonize, finding enough breathing room after yet another step back to tend to his wounds without having to dodge skeletal swings.
Breathing a sigh of relief, he wipes his forehead. "Whew! That was the worst of the injuries!"
Dwizzle Status:
As more of Dwizzle's precious blood sprays on the stone, he cries out. "Alright! Enough with the cutting!" He waves the point of his spear around at the skeletons continuing to harry him. "Good sir Hogan, could you spare a swing swing at this one right here?" "I'm sure it wouldn't last even one strike!"
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle, once again bearing the brunt from the skeleton's cleaving strikes, snaps his fingers at one. "Aha! I see what you did there, skellie! Well played!" Stepping back again, he continues to wave his flag and praise the virtues of dwarfdom and Ra-Tor.
"Any chance we could, errr, drop this one?" Dwizzle gestures towards the skeleton pursuing him and Seherab .
Dwizzle grips his holy symbol, working to undo his latest injuries.
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle appears somewhat shocked as he is charged and nearly skewered, having sworn he had positioned himself safely behind Seh-- oh. Nonetheless he thrusts his spear at his first attacker.

Dwizzle, certain that the skeletons are nothing more than strong skeletons, wonders at the shrieking head's origin and capabilities.
While musing, he does what he does best, he waves his flag around and cheers on his brothers surrounding him. "Tally ho, dwarves! Skeletons are nothing to fear with the light of Ra-Tor radiating above! Let us make quick work of them!"
Dwizzle Status:
Dwizzle nods at Seherab's explanation. "Makes sense to me! Plus, we've got Hogan and me now, so we're all set!" Dwizzle takes a look at the most recent scars the dwarves have "acquired". "Also, I noticed that Teos was the only one who carried silver... and ummm, seems we might want to remedy that? We've got a lot of gold between us all, right?"
Dwizzle rubs his eyes, counting his dwarven companions, but somehow not as concerned as one would expect. "Hey... did we lose a dwarf last night?" Even before he gets a reply, he takes a look at his brothers. "Is anyone still hurt from yesterday? Ra-Tor was generous this morning as I prayed."
Dwizzle leans forward for a moment, before his eyes widen and he snaps his fingers. "Of course! Rabby!" He then shuffles to Seherab and immediately applies what would be the nearly the end of his abilities to tend injuries this day.
