I am finally back! I'll read through the posts from the last few weeks, and join the pack once more!

FYI: I'm still here! Not that I am usually the most constant of contributors (mea culpa), but I am travelling this week (on vacation with my wife) and I'll be away next week as well (for business)...

"Then where is this throne?" Drazen asks to the point, ignoring the man's smirk.

"One way or another, we now have prisoners," Drazen intercedes. "Difficult to imagine heading further with them in tow."

He shakes his head, then turns to the prisoners, "where is the Stag Lord camped, at present?"

"You never know," he defends the man. "I'm sure that many of these men weren't always what you call bandits. Do you have a family, Sasha? Were you always a warrior?"

When they have settled, Drazen continues to address the prisoner in a friendly manner, "What with there being no other option, I can imagine that the Stag Lord was a welcome change in these lawless lands. Under different circumstances, any one of us could have fought at his side. Were you with him fro the very start? How did you come to know him?"

Drazen has many questions, but he remembers the lessons of his foster father who always told him to speak less and listen more...

Sorry about that! I figured that we were entering the realm of RP and that the maps and positions didn't matter anymore. I'll happily take it all back if the GM allows it...?

"Sasha," Drazen speak calmly, his sword sheathed and attempting to befriend the man, "I understand that for you fight for the Stag Lord and that you think us, invaders. If I was in your place, I might feel the same way. But the tide is turning, and the Stag Lord will fall. Eventually."

He lets his conviction sit for a moment before continuing, "The Stag Lord has proven himself to be a skilled and inspiring commander of men. But he has also shown himself to be tyrannical and cruel. And the people – the commoners, the villagers, the honest people of these fair lands – will not stand by such a man. It's that simple. So I ask you: when the war ends – when you want to settle in these lands and raise a family – do you want to swear loyalty and fealty to a man who will take from you what he wants – when he wants it? Or will you place your faith in people such as my friends and myself – lawful people who have come to these lands to improve the lives and livelihood of all people, high or low?"

"I know that you know nothing of any of us and that you have no reason to trust us. But look at us. Do we look like bloodthirsty warriors hell-bent on pillaging and ravaging the land? By Erastil, ruling a land is not about taking! It's about ensuring that the land thrives and that people are happy!"

"Honestly," he continues, "I tire of bloodshed and I am happy to your have submitted yourself to our justice, which will endeavour to be just."

"But you have to talk of you wish for some measure of clemency," he finishes, looking to Titian to suggest that the prisoner should answer the knight's questions.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

viper climb check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Sword in hand, Drazen holds his position. He stands at the base of the platform and prepares himself for melee should the archer decide to try and make a run for it.

As he does, a whispers a soft command to a tiny viper that then slithers out from his coat, down his leg, and up towards the remaining archer. Once there, it readies its strike, should the enemy decide to attack or move...

stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d2 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0 I rolled just in case. If the viper injures the enemy, the poison description is: Fort DC 9; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 Con; cure 1 save

Concerned by the archer on the platform, Drazen moves in his direction and incants a spell, hoping to halt his barrage of deadly arrows...

Move and cast Daze DC 17

How high are the platforms? Any chance Drazen can find a spot from which to cast Daze (range = 25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels) on Blue? If so, that's what he'll do! Otherwise, he moves towards and up the platform...

Seeing his companions engaged in melee, Drazen decides to dash to his right and come around behind the bandit who just swung his great club at Torek. Flanking his opponent, the half-elf thrusts with his fine blade...

melee attack (flanking) & damage: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 161d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Seeing one of the bandits readying his polearm – likely against Titian's charge – Drazen moves to Herger's flank and, once again, incants a sibilant spell...

Move + cast Daze DC 17 on green bandit.

Wow. I really should remember the details of the one single spell that I can cast!!! Area of effect. Full-round. Duh. I'll cast Daze DC 17 instead, on the bandit nearest us.

And roll for arcane failure, which I also keep forgetting.

5% Arcane Failure: 1d100 ⇒ 76

Not sure if my round 3 spell had any effect, but here goes for round 4!

Drazen follows Torek toward the camp without, however, engaging in melee yet. Rather, he stops at the ranger's side and once again incants a sibilant spell that seems to induce a deep slumber...

Move – to cover if possible – and cast Sleep DC 18 on the group around the fire.

I meant to say that I wanted him to be affected...

I keep forgetting that it’s an area and not a targeted effect!!! Mind you, surely I can place the area to exclude Titian?

And thanks to Autumn for botting Drazen!

Just got back... I need a vacation after my vacation. Or maybe simply getting back to work will do it. That, and kids + jet lag = recipe for disaster! Long story short, I just posted :)

Sword in hand, Drazen moves forward and incants a spell, targeting the archer that just fired arrows at Herger and Jhod...

Move + Cast Sleep DC 18
Not sure if moving towards the bandits requires going south before heading east, or if we can head straight towards them...?

Hi all! I am off to Greece with the family for two weeks starting tomorrow, so I may not get a chance to post as usual. Don't hesitate to bot!

"Perhaps we can take out the bandits in the watchtowers first?" Drazen proposes, uniquely equipped to do just that. "If there are few of them, it will not matter. But we should avoid open confrontation for fear that there are more of them than we can handle."

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

"Truth be told, I don't know how to swim," Drazen admits. "I never had to in the streets of Restov. But isn't there a good ford close to the bandit camp? Or we could go southeast as far as the river crossing?"

Drazen raises an eyebrow, chuckles and munches on the delicious walnuts, "Indeed, it would be only fair to repay whoever did this in kind!" There is no malice at all in his tone and, surprisingly, he seems to consider this oddity as entirely normal.

"Other kids used to tease me and call me a Fey when I was a boy. I would be extraordinary to meet one!"

Don't they say not to accept gifts from the Fey and not to eat their food?

Happy to learn from Autumn, Drazen stays near and observes her as she studies the land...

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
And sees nothing!

"I'll guard the rear then," Drazen responds as they get on their way.

"I'll take point," Drazen offers. Since their last encounter, he had been quiet and his appetite had been lacking. He was more withdrawn than usual. Pensive.

And he didn't have internet. And he was moving. And doing renovations. Sorry for the silence! I've been paying attention, mind you...

Still moving in... And now changing a carpet has become a full-blown renovation project! Long story short, I am still around and I'm keeping an eye on the menu... :)

I am moving in a few days, so I'll be unavailable until the end of the week. Feel free to bot Drazen until then.

Moving... Ugh...

"I will need to learn to ride," Drazen decides, realizing once again how ill-equipped he is to survive in the wilderness!

"This browl resisted my power," Drazen remarks, concerned. He places his hand on the pommel of his sword, "I'll make sure to rely on steel, next time."

Let's hope there isn't a next time, he thinks to himself.

Sorry about that! I've been (very) busy and, to be honest, I had a little bit of a senior moment there and didn't realize that it was my turn!

Seeing the creature unaffected by his spell certainly gives Drazen pause to think. He hesitates, doubt and a measure of fear holding his hand if only for a moment. Seeing his companions fighting for their lives, the young man recovers his wits and moves to attack with his fine blade.

Drazen charges. I'm not sure if he can make it in a single round, but I'll roll below, in case he can...
melee attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
critical: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 201d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 --> 12 damage

Seeing the beast charging in their direction, Drazen gathers his courage and steps forward to protect the archers. He then incants a sibilant spell and weaves ancient magic...

Cast Sleep DC 18. For the record: I understand that the spell will not likely work, but Drazen wouldn't know this!

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
I think that I am going to wait to find out what everyone does!

Drazen nods in agreement, training his eyes to discern the features of the landscape as do his companions...

Not straight West...

Arizona is absolutely beautiful!

Las Vegas seems out of place in your list of destinations! In any case, it makes my recent travels seem very mundane: Toronto-Montreal-Toronto-Montreal-Toronto-Montreal-Toronto. Over the course of ten days. Ridiculous.

Ready!

"I will go with you," Dazen volunteers. "If there is a shrine to Erastil in these lands, it is a blessing and we should not allow it the remain spoiled by whatever curse or darkness has desecrated its sanctity."

"Drazen Prasec," the young man introduces himself, finally approaching the growing group. Then, he stands by Autumn, "indeed, anything you may know could be of use. Perhaps old stories or rumours? In any case, we'll keep an eye out as we continue to explore..."

Eager to ensure that their charters are respected and to make allies among the locals, Drazen spends his time meeting with the inhabitants of the outpost, learning their stories and sharing his own. Rather than suggesting outright that they should commit themselves to the cause of the crown, he coaxes them into coming to the conclusion themselves, asking leading questions and steering the conversations in the right directions...

Bluff to Suggest Course of Action!
Take 10 on Bluff x 6 days = 12 influence

When he sees Autumn greet a newcomer, Drazen approaches in time to hear his introduction. But he keeps his tongue, figuring that she may know the location of this temple...

Yeah. The bar is pretty high.

Re: the buildings, got it! Post to come later tonight or tomorrow...

I'll never live up to Autumn's last post in the Gameplay thread! Nice work!

...But I will post something ASAP :)

That being said, I may not start with a house and tavern, under the circumstances. In fact, I am not sure about the relevance of the tavern given that there is one already in Oleg's Outpost. I may begin by recruiting people. An entourage? A few warriors? To be determined...

True. It would be for using diplomacy to lead the people of the outpost, to prepare for a potentially imminent attack, and ultimately to acquire influence...

I am curious to hear your opinions: under the circumstances, could the charter act as a masterwork tool for diplomacy? I asked the GM earlier and never got an answer, and it makes a huge difference!

One day a week, not per month! A single day off was pretty much the norm, once upon a time...

I would propose taking only one day off, which would mean a total of 34 days. Best to take advantage of the time that we have!

Shall we go ahead and post our actions for the first 6 days? Does everyone agree?
