Yeah, I was completely expecting some sort of negative side effect of selling out, but it looks like a pure positive, was not expecting that. Thanks for the game everyone, it was fun!

"Thank you, Passad, both for your hospitality and your tenacity. I have no doubt that you will be able to make use of the Courts of Abstinence in a much more admirable way than Myrosype ever would have. Good luck in your endeavors, sir."

On hearing about the offer of magical transportation, Dragos is similarly relieved. "As much as I enjoy travel, it was quite a long journey, and hard to tell what became of those bandits. Better to be done with the whole deal. I'm ready whenever the others are."

Is there any point in continuing to schmooze Vayde at this point? Any additional checks would simply be aid attempts of Ulena's attempt, which already won as much as it can, right? Are there any other goals we could be working towards at this point?

Dragos looks at Tagir skeptically. "Think this through, man. There is no way that this is a one-and-done deal. She'll have you by the short hairs, because all you have is her word that she won't 'let slip' to the Society of this little deal. You take that money, you'll be her stooge; you don't seem like the type to enjoy being a stooge. Ethical dilemmas aside, the gain simply doesn't justify the risk."

Dragos stays quiet during the course of the meeting, attempting to maintain a neutral air. He does not respond immediately to her offer, but allows the others to control the flow of the meeting.

If we can talk privately:

Dragos can't help but snort when Evariel says that she only wants names. "She is offering to give us a significant amount of money, through hidden back channels, which would be no small effort on her part. What in the world makes you think she won't stand to gain substantially from anything we tell her? She wouldn't be making this offer if she didn't have a means of using it for her benefit. To help her is to help the Aspis Consortium, plain and simple, and I'll have no part in it."

Dragos, caught off-guard by the plane shift, seems to wander around distracted for some time. Having just overheard the conversation among the others, he tags along with Bishop as he interacts with Cyran.

"Indeed," Dragos nods when Bishop finishes, "as I understand it, she is so distracted by the other districts falling away, she likely won't be paying as much attention to her own. Placing a bid on Luminous Wharf would likely be cheap and effective in securing your own goals."

Attempting to influence Cyran along with Bishop, which if I remember correctly functions as an aid another? Adding in the -2 for being non-lawful and making a Charisma-based check.

A strange mixture of relief and worry crosses Temel Passad's face. "Dragos, I am unsure if I can reclaim the lead... I had put forth a bold bid considering my current finances. I think privately bowing out may be the best course of action here. I'll put forth some minor bid increases for show, but I know I can't win this one!" He chuckles a little awkwardly and tries to change the subject.

"What do you think of the food here? It is quite exquisite, ingredients gathered from across Golarion. The deepest pits, tallest crags, the darkest woods!" He continues to throw laurels upon the food and otherwise steer conversation away from bidding.

"You know, when I am in a fight, sometimes the odds seem overwhelming" Dragos says, ignoring his attempt at changing the subject. "Like when the bandits attacked us on the road here. They had equal numbers to us, and were set up in a better fortified position. To consider how to beat them all was very overwhelming. I've learned, though, that when the odds are overwhelming, but the goal is important, it is best to have all that focus down into just the next step. All that matters in the world is just the next shot, that's it."

The man's gaze intensifies once more, fixating on Passad's eyes. "Your goal here is much the same. It is important, it matters, but it is overwhelming. You have an advantage here, though. Your opponent, Myrosype, wants all the districts, which means she's spreading herself thin. For you to compare your finances to Myrosype's may indeed feel impossible, but you can narrow that down to just this next bid, against just this one district. Let her chase after the others, and while she is so distracted, you can take the goal that is important to you. Don't let her get in your head, Temel. I know you can do this! So do it!"

Dragos arrived at the feast dressed in a different, but no less fine, outfit; still in his preferred colors, the woodsy greens and browns, but with more of an emphasis on the deep greens than his previous outfit. As he settles in for the feast, his eyes seek out the various bidders.

Irideth appears to be in fine form; she's been consistently ahead in her bidding, and seems confident in her goals. I've yet to speak with her, but that dish looks atrocious. Maybe I'll focus elsewhere.

His eyes next seek out Cyran, the aloof elf that Evariel spent so much time with. Also seems confident, and Evariel certainly seems to have him well in hand. Don't think my help is needed there.

He then dances back and forth between Vayde and and Passad. Hmm, the only two I've actually spoken with, and I seem to have good rapport with both. His gaze focuses in on Passad finally. Temel is definitely in need of more prodding, though, and Tagir seems to have a good thing going with Vayde already. I think we have a winner. At the first opportunity, he gets up and goes to talk to their sponsor in all this.

"Thank you for another fine night in your manor, sir. You really do have an incredible property." Pause here for response and appropriate further pleasantries... "I was sorry to hear you'd fallen out of the lead for the Courts. I know how much you desire them. What are your thoughts on your task now? Think yourself capable of reclaiming the lead?"

Dragos also approaches their host and begins a discussion with him. "My costume? Well, as a follower of Erastil, I highly prize skill in hunting. Not only is the lion itself one of nature's most potent hunters, but the Leonal, as I understand it, is likewise known as a straight-forward and powerful hunter, who also prizes protection of their families. Such values align so well with mine own, I could scarcely resist the option."

Attempt to impress using Perform(oratory), unfortunately my "best" skill for the task at +0...
Perform(oratory): 1d20 ⇒ 15

"What about you, good sir? Your costume is particularly fierce-looking. What was your reasoning in selecting it?"

Going to go with a discovery check on Vayde as opposed to doing an aid another on Ulena's attempt. Since we don't know yet what can influence him, we don't even know if the attempt will help, and even if it does not sure a 12 will work much better than a 10. Seems more advantageous to use my action in a discovery attempt.

Dragos grins as the results are read aloud. If he can catch Passad's eye, he will give the man an encouraging nod and gesture of congratulations.

As the servant arrives with the costumes, Dragos grimaces in distaste. "I must admit, I'm not overly fond of these... creatures. Still, I must be a dutiful guest." He examines each costume at length, before arriving at one with a mighty lion's head. "Ahh, the Leonal. A mighty hunter, I hear tell. This will do."

"That's right, I remember you talking about the militaries using the labyrinthine to practice. Fascinating! I can see all sorts of ways that would work out well, for everyone involved, if you win the day. The militaries will take their training more seriously if they see it as a more formal training ground, people always treat things they pay for more seriously than free things. This will lead to better protection of everyone's homes - as you know, that is of great interest to me." He pauses for a moment, thinking. "If Myrosype wins out on that district, I shudder to think at what will become of those who currently depend on that for training. She may smile pretty, but she's a snake underneath, believe me."

His eyes get very serious, as he meets the gaze of his host. His forceful personality comes to the forefront, as he says very seriously "That cannot be allowed to happen! I know that if you put in a good showing, particularly early on, Myrosype will focus her attentions on other, easier to obtain districts. I have spoken with you at great length now, and I trust your character in running this district - you simply must put in a strong bid, and early! I have every faith in your ability to not only win, but hold and manage this district spectacularly."

Dragos arrived at the party, slightly later than the others. Slept hard last night - a finer bed than I'm used to. Better check in with our host first and hope he didn't notice... Fiddling lightly with one of the rings on his fingers, as if slightly uncomfortable with it, he makes his way over to Passad.

"Good morning sir. Looks as though your party is off to a fine start. I must say, your accommodations here have been fantastic - I haven't slept on such a soft bed in a long time!"

So the host of this event is Passad, right? And if we interact with him here, we get a bonus for the rest of the scenario?

I'm a little confused still. At any given event, is only one district being bid on? Do we know what district everyone is bidding on at this event? Sorry if that was communicated somewhere, I read over everything a few times but still might have missed something.

Should we be treating Passad the same as the other bidders in terms of trying to influence him? He has told us he plans to bid on just one district, but doesn't know if he can win. Can/should we be trying to get him to bid on more than one, or should we focus on the others? What about Myrosype? Can we try to influence her directly to NOT bid on a district?

Dragos is silent for a moment, pondering the questions of both Passad and Tagir. He plays a little with his food, distracting himself, as he gathers his thoughts. He finally looks into the eyes of his host, and responds "You are right in Erastil's values; however, not every home and community has someone to defend it." As he says this, a pained look crosses his face ever so briefly. "So many of Erastil's followers are content to protect their own, while those without suffer at the hands of the great many evils of this world. I vowed long ago that I would not be such a one. There are many homes, many communities, that need protection - I do what I can to provide that, and the Society helps me to do that."

He then turns to Tagir, and says "if a beautiful woman was leaning on my arm, gazing into my eyes, I would probably wonder what it is she was trying to keep me from seeing elsewhere in the room. There is much and more evil in this world, and more than a fair bit of it hides behind a pretty face."

Dragos has been going through dinner rather quietly, enjoying the food but also taking everything in. He seems more than content to let others carry the conversation. His clothing is a fine set of linen colored a deep green, with light brown patterns stitched throughout and a fur-trimmed cape. Around his neck, he wore a fine silver medallion of a bow and arrow, while several thin but fine rings adorned his hands.

"Not much to be said about me, sir. My first and last love is Erastil. Give me a bow and some arrows, and I'm a happy man."

With that, he continues to eat, marveling at the fine food.

Dragos narrows his eyes at the surrendering man, thinking. This one threw down his sword readily enough, but the others haven't yet. Easy enough to pick a sword back up... He draws an arrow, notches it, but doesn't fire. Instead, he holds the shot, waiting to see what the other bandits would do. "Anybody else ready to be done?"

Ready an action to fire at the first person to take any hostile action.

If that happens:

As the bandit continues in it's assault, Dragos sighs and releases his readied arrow. "Wrong decision!" However, in trying to react quickly, he releases a second too late, and the arrow soars off without touching the assailant.

Watching in horror as the beast almost casually drops two more of his companions, Dragos continues to circle around as he sends yet another shot sailing in towards their large enemy.

Spoiler:

Move and attack
Could really use some higher damage dice...

Damage, judgment: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
If Brady doesn't stabilize on his own this turn, next turn I can be close enough to cast stabilize on him.

Dragos continues to head up to the high ground, while drawing out another arrow. He looses again, the new arrow streaking off to try to join the old one in the beast's hide.

Dragos tracks south at a quick pace, going for the high ridge. As he goes, he smoothly pulls out an arrow. Anger lights up his eyes, as he begins to call out "Vile beast! Your needless violence will hurt no more people!" He lets loose a long shot, sending his arrow streaking toward the huge creature.

Dragos will use the wand to heal Brady.

The wand is CL3, so it is 1d8+3. Using Brady's roll, that would be 6hp healed, bringing him back up to full, yeah?

"Makes more sense to go forward than back now, I'd say. Tunnel sounds good to me. Anybody else need healing before we go?"

Dragos holds out his hand for the ring. "Can I have a look?" He examines the ring to see if he can tell anything about it.

Rolls:

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
So close - can someone else perform an aid another to bump it over? Perhaps Valtyra?

He frowns, as if struggling to grasp a thought just out of reach...
