Whoops. Looks like there is an errata that says the Holy Book doesn't actually count as an improvised weapon, so Surprise Weapon wouldn't be a valid trait choice for Gii. Gonna swap that to Student of Philosophy and take Intimidating Prowess instead, so I can go full Intimidate down the line.
Okay, finished rebuilding Gii here as an Inquisitor. He'd previously been built to play RoW specifically, so I will probably just flesh him out a little more for this campaign. Basically, he's a priest of Nethys who has come from Absalom to study the magics of the North, and ostensibly start a Church of Nethys in Heldren. He's probably never going to actually get around to that, at least not in a meaningful way, but he's at least started giving sermons in the few weeks he's been in town. He's probably at least reasonably well-known in the town by this point, though people's opinion on magic and/or foreigners will likely color their opinions of him. Though he's an aasimar, it mostly shows is his sapphire-blue eyes and the vaguely metallic sheen of his hair. He can, however, manifest a halo of white light around his head, but generally chooses not to do so because it freaks other people out. Mechanically, Gii will club stuff with his heavy iron-bound holy book (and even throw it at folks with the Magic Domain), act as a knowledge/skill monkey (9 skill points a level, plus Background Skills!) and be a passable party face (Skill Focus linguistics into Orator at level 5). As a Prepared spellcaster, he'll be a lot more versatile in his spells known than most Inquisitors, so he should be able to help out with various things as well, given preparation time.
While Gii and his companion appear to have disappeared, a small letter addressed to the others remains. To Whom It May Concern: It is with a heavy heart that I must leave you. This evening, a servant of Great Nethys visited while I slept, and has informed me that there is need of Matias and I elsewhere. I have been sworn to secrecy, and I only pray you will forgive my sudden departure. Though our time together was short, I still regret the need to leave without saying my proper farewells.
I have learned much from you all in the little time we spent at each others' sides, and I hope you will all see success and health in your future. May only His gentle gaze find you,

Sorry, but yeah. The more I try to justify staying, the more I realize how much work I have ahead of me. I don't want to have the game grind to a screeching halt because I end up needing to write up a zillion lesson plans or whatever. Once I graduate in December, I can see what I can do, but the next couple months are going to be crazy for me.
In all honesty, I think an extra player would probably make things a little more unwieldy than they already are. However, in the interest of what's best for the group, I'd be willing to step out. I have student teaching starting in early August, so it's actually probably better that I reduce the number of games I'm involved in, anyway.
I wouldn't mind continuing. I've wanted to play Gii and this AP for a long time.
I agree. The problem is "where to look?"
I'm of a mind to give him more time. I've been dying to play RoW, but the two previous times have died roughly right before where we are right now. It's probably just real life catching up to Jammin, and I don't doubt he'll be back sooner or later.
"I studied at the temple of Nethys in Absalom," Gii states, looking slightly put-off by the barrage of questions. "Until the All-Seeing Eye graced me with his gift, that is," the doctor says, patting Matias between the ears.
"I am a scholar of all magics. During my studies, I picked up enough understanding of healing magics that I was able to diagnose and treat illness. The title is not one I made for myself," Gii responds, a wry smile on his face.

Gii keeps a lookout as the men change their equipment. Matias is sniffing the ground, pawing in the general direction of where the tracks had been leading.
Looking over his companions, Gii adjusts his spectacles. "Are you ready to move on?" he questions, absentmindedly patting Matias as the wolf stands at his side.
Gii shakes his head, frowning. "It is sadly not my forte. One of our companions might be more capable of patching you up, however?"
Gii gasps as the trap springs on his companions, rushing to Jamarcus' side as the log sends him sprawling. "Damned bandits," he bites out as he offers a hand to the fallen man.
"Probably decided it was slowing them down?" Gii hypothesizes. "That said, it's still very suspicious. Be wary."
I'm okay with that.
"It appears to be the early stages of hypothermia," Gii explains. "We should try and warm lady Theora up. Your overcoat is a good first measure," the doctor says to Jamarcus with an approving look.
Gii looks between the others, worried. The cold doesn't bother him nearly as much as it might normal folk, but he understands that other people might not be so lucky. "Now, Grimkell, if a short pause would have us lose the track, we would already be far too late." The Nethian looks over Theora, worried for her health.
Gii chuckles softly at Jamarcus' new accoutrements. "Your fashion sense is something else, friend," the Nethian comments in a friendly tone. "Now, the matter of following the kidnappers. We would be best served to head after them."

Gii nods as he walks back towards the group. "There was little of value still remaining in the carriage. However, it is clear that whatever happened here, it was not just a robbery. The defenders fought tooth and nail, and bandits are not the type to stick around against such a situation."
Gii frowns as Lars attempts to relieve the frozen man of his armor and weapon, but doesn't say anything. 'He'll have no need of them, after all..' the Nethian thinks to himself. He busies himself searching the carriages for clues.
Gii wipes the blade of his spear off in the snow, before using it to once again take the weight off his bad leg. "Necromantic magics, no doubt. The power of evil arcane energies are not to be underestimated," the doctor explains, patting Matias as the wolf continues to growl at the twice-dead creatures.
Limping over near Lars with Matias in tow, the dark-haired doctor stabs out at the remaining zombie with his spear.

"Stab it!" Lars cries as he thrusts his blade at the target of his frustrations. Eh? Ehhhh? Not bad, right?
You need to log into Roll20 to get that to go away. It happens to me sometimes and is annoying, but it's easy to fix.
"They're zombies," the Nethian gasps. Gii switches the grip on his spear, readying to stab past his companions at the undead. Matias' sinks into a low stance, growling loudly as he protects his master's bad leg.

Gii gasps as the carriage's doors open forcefully, his attention immediately drawn to the things inside. At his side, Matias begins to growl threateningly.
Gii follows after Jamarcus, Matias close at his side. "I doubt they'd have barred Lady Argentea in her own carriage and left her here, or left their men and ran," he states in a worried voice. "Who could possibly be inside?" The white-furred wolf beside him sniffs at the air, seeming uninterested.
Gii gives Jamarcus and Lars sideways looks as Theora gives them a lecturing, but chooses not to join her in the scolding. At Grimkell's request, he introduces himself to the others. "I apologize for not doing so earlier. I am Gii, a priest of Nethys, and this," the dark-haired man says, gesturing to his wolf companion, "Is Matias, sent by the All-Seeing Eye himself to aid me." At his side, the wolf barks once, before nuzzling into Gii's flank.
Gii nods at the woman's request, adjusting the grip on his longspear that is serving as a makeshift walking stick. "I will gladly do what I am able. We are told the Winter Fey are involved, and it is possible that this may be their doing."
Gii's Longspear is already made of Cold Iron. :)
Gii stands, nodding. "I will need to retrieve my traveling gear, but you can count on my aid." Outside the door of the tavern, Matias barks once, seeming to agree with the Nethian.
Yeah, fair. He can always stop us, it's not like we ran out of the building.
Gii looks between the others as they talk, a neutral look on his face. "Should we head out to where they were attacked, then? Our friend here appears to be taken care of, but if anything has happened to Lady Argentea, time may be of the essence."
Gii frowns at Grimkell's jab, but doesn't retort. He approaches the injured man who is hastily drinking the hot broth, and sits down, clearly happy to take some of the weight off his lame leg. He waves off Kale's question about food, focused entirely on the Ulfen man. "When you finish, I would like to hear of what exactly happened. It seems these folk are willing to help," the Nethian says as he motions to the others, "and I would like to offer my services, as well. Though I have not been here long, Heldren is as much my home right now as anyone else here, and I will not stand idly by."
Gii adjusts his spectacles before following after the injured Ulfen man and those trying to help them. "Brothers, sisters, what has happened?" the Nethian repeats his question, stopping behind Grimkell and Mirri. Matias sits just outside the door of the tavern his white tail wagging and his tongue lolling out of his mouth. For a wild animal, he appears exceedingly well-trained and behaved in the middle of a town.
Gii and Matias quickly approach the strangely-afflicted Ulfen man and those surrounding him. "What seems to be the problem?" he asks, his bright eyes trying to diagnose the man's ills. At his side, the wolf pants softly, pressing into his master's side.
Stepping out of an alleyway, a medium-height man with black hair and striking sapphire eyes appears. More than the exceedingly heavy clothing he is wearing in the Taldane summer, the large pure-white wolf at his side and his noticeable limp make him stand out amongst the other various inhabitants of Heldren. With a holy symbol of Nethys hanging from his neck, it is easy to guess that he is Doctor Gii, the town's newly-arrived Nethian priest. Giving his wolf companion Matias a pat on the head as he turns towards the town square, the cleric leans heavily on his walking stick as he goes to see why everyone is gathered.

Hah, looks like a good number of us are teachers. I'm Steve, and I'm a senior elementary education major. I start my student teaching in August. :)
As I've said in the thread, Gii is a recent immigrant to Heldren from the Temple of Nethys in Absalom. After receiving a divine mission from the All-Seeing Eye (and losing most of the mobility in his left leg) he set out to spread his religion to southern Taldor. He's going to be a secondary frontliner, buffer and maybe dabble in summoning, while using his Cha-focus to either be the party face or help out with it.
A couple months, at best. Long enough for people to know his face (it's not hard to remember the lame-legged guy with a big white wolf) but not long enough for people to really know him. Also, I didn't notice the bonus skill point. I'll add that.
