So does that make a freeholder someone who walks behind fighters offering to HOLD their loot for FREE?
Not sure what camp I fall into? I agree with a lot of thing Nihimon says but I also do not see Bludwolf and his camp as something that needs to be dealt with. Since my name is Marijane I never have any issues with grass. Guess I just a want to be friends with everyone merchant who more interested in selling you a weapon then attacking you with it.

I rather not reply to either ragebois or fanbois they are two sides of the same coin. I try not to be either one as well they both correct in certain points and woefully wrong in others. Only time will tell which is which so I will wait and see what develops neither expecting total success or total failure.
The time has come the Piper cried
They made their list and check them thrice
While I hope I'll not be misunderstood
ooc- When EE starts I will not be hanging my hat in Keepers Pass. While I hold nothing against them and do wish them the best of luck Keepers is not currently offering what I am looking for in a settlement or company. So I will once again be a free agent until I find a match that better suits my needs.
Thank you to all the kind folk who went out of their way to help this simple crafter, especially Apothos from Ozem's Vigil,Urman, Hunter from t7v, Miski and Aylana.
:wipes a tear from her eye with a newly woven cloth: You have made me a very happy gnome. You have proven what a great community we are building here.
Sometimes rp is as easy as just saying hello to someone. Recently in alpha a couple of folk were looking for Buurz. When she cam online I greeted her. She of course wished to know who I ws and if I was going to steal her goat.
This lead to a very interesting conversation between Hilderguard the dwarf and Buurz the fish wife. We could have had the whole conversion ooc but we did it ic. She started in character so I replied to her in character. If she had replied out I likely would have done the same. Not once did either of us ask if the other wanted to rp we just did it.
@ Buurz Hilderguard say greetin and she likely be in town later this week fer a taste of your brew.
As one of the folk who moved my vacation more times then I care to count. Am I disappointed I have to find something else to do on my week off. Yeah do I understand why and agree with the situation of course.
Dressed in all her Varisa finery Diella smiles as she does her happy dance, "Thank you good friends and trusted allies."
TT player well, well imagine that I have really and truly found my correct place in Golarion.
My tabletop career started way back in the early '70 I think it was '72 or '73 with a little know game called Chain mail. For those not in the know chain Mail was like an early edition of DND. I actually played it in college for credit. The class was creative thinking class. The main thing I remember from those sessions was the name of the man who was created the game had a weird name Gy ax something :). When D&D eventually came out I was really interested in it. I bought the first box set but never could find any one to play with. Fast forward about twenty five years now married and with two teenage kids we were shopping in a local mall in Va when we saw a large banner proclaiming D&D 25 anniversary. This is were I meet my first DM. We still meet every Sunday and are raising our third generation of gamers who learn to count on a d20 and learn there color by dragon types.
My DND career went from advanced to 2 all the way up to 4th were I became a little disillusioned with how the game was progressing. At a local con we,we being be my sons Joey and Mike and I, meet with a group that were trying to start a local Pathfinder chapter. They started with 1 or 2 tables now we can have as many as 20 going from a little table in the back wall to almost half the gaming room at most cons.
Pathfinder is not the only TT game I have played, Shadowrun, Whitewolf vampire, werewolf, changeling, Exalted, Immortalis, Star Wars, Amber and a couple I have played once or twice and I have forgotten.
MMO career well that a story for another day let just say my first mmos was Rubies of Evertide, Shadowbane and Horizons which is the one that I really feel in love with and learn who to play the game on.
Well that it for now, looking forward to meeting you all in EE.

Greetings friends and trusted allies,
As a bard and merchant who believes the best path in life is to get along with every one. I will gladly agree to bury the hatchet although I will have to run out real quick to go get one. I really try to be friends with everyone.
Now if you would like a rousing chorus of kumbaya that I can manage that right now.
Of all the companies in this community from what I have seen UNC has always acted like proper pirate nobleman. There are many companies I follow and will recommended to those I meet when PFO goes online. UNC is one of those I would tell any pvp interest player to join.
Of all the companies I watch UNC is the only pvp centered guild I watch. 1. Is because I hold many of it members in high regard. No matter what the argument or fight I have seen them take the high road more often then not. As one of their probably victims this fact gives my hope.
2. Life is never boring whenever a UNC member makes a post.
Here a free bump for you. :)
Quick hide behind the pile of dead bards...oh wait a minute I am a bard eeep.
I have a very similar idea for my main character. Although it not really based around a solo concept since I sure she will be willing to group with anyone. Traveling herbalist based off a character from a series I read long ago.
That a lot of stuff to remember.
Notices post above hers, notices that Azouth is wearing a green hat. Check calender to see what day it is mumbles to herself.
Runs up and steals Azouth's green hat. Runs over to Hobbs, "Hey look Azouth stole one of your patent green hats and he not gone through the initiation to be in the green hat squad.
Sits down and starts writing an initiation for the Green Hat Squad since she not sure there really is one yet.
FYI: Azouth is my adult son Joey.
Let me place my self on the long list of people loving the music.
My observation I noticed is that even at this early stage the person wearing the cape movement is fluid. The cape does not clip the body when the person starts stops or changes direction. Now if it also does not clip through their quiver of arrow you will find me the happiest ranger in the world.
As many have said above me it takes great courage to admit fault. When one read poster that you hold in high esteem snapping at each other it bring sorrow to one heart To see a thread like this bring joy to banish the sorrow. I hope we can go forward from this knowing that we all want what best for the game.
I think we should bear in mind that as a forest has many paths from one side to the other Pathfinder will have many paths we will travel to the goals we all hope to share. Some we will share openly with other and some path we may hope to travel to avoid or only travel them lightly. So as we talk about our hopes for the game and the paths we wish to travel know that our guides will make our journey an interesting and fun filled one.
Trying to get this thread back to what the op asked for stories and tales from our pvp past. Well I have a few but I will like to focus on the positive over the negative. There ben too much negitvity around here so I am not going to add to it.
This is my positive pvp story: It was age of Conan I was playing a Bear Shaman. I remember going out to harvest something or other and I got attacked. Luck was with me and I was facing my attacker. Many times I am at 50% health before I even discover who attacking me hard to come back from so far behind but not this time. For once I did not spend precious seconds debating if I should attack or run. I decide to fight and see where it took me, fully expecting it to be my respawn point. So I popped off a heal ability and ran at the guy. I fully expected to die I always die. Time seemed to slow my heart was racing but every time I was getting close to the red bar of death my heal ability would refresh and I was given another couple of seconds of life.
It ended with him dead and me at about 25% health. Another thing that made the moment great for me was my opponent let me have my victory and did not cry I won because he lagged or his abilities got stuck, or the bear shaman class was overpowered which at the time it actually was. He asked me what I thought of the bear shaman and we had a nice talk. I thanked him for the good fight and for the next 20 minutes I ran around my house yelling I WON!! IWON!! I am really proud of that moment.
I may be only one voice of those who will be crafting in this game but what I quoted above seems very fair and balanced to me. If I expect to have high rewards I should expect high danger as well.
I fully expect if I engage in the above activities I should be prepared to fight or have enough guards to insure that I will come out ahead in the encounter. Those encounters and the lose of goods are just the price of doing business. What I wish to see is that after a long day of gathering crafting etc my net gains are ahead of my net loses.
Will it take preparation and thought to end up ahead I believe so but that what's going to make the game fun.
@ Being I can so get behind this:
The nature of the game should essentially be Pathfinder, a fantasy role-playing game. Roles are interplayer. It should be a more significant combat talent to coordinate with others in common cause, to overcome obstacles, to solve problems than to perform intricate finger gymnastics or acquire gear.
Guess I will chime in here with my intro
Marijane aka Diella
Wolf sheep or guard dog: a sheep in wolf clothing or I know what I'll try for ATTACK SHEEP, that the ticket. Maybe if I fake it good enough they think I am really a wolf and leave me alone ... yeah like that going to happen but maybe it be fun to try.
You are right So removed from positive/negative and made a new positive/ neutral

If Pvp only express a small portion of what a player can experience in Pathfinder Online could we possible come up with a description that will come closer to describing the vision Ryan has describe in the above quote?
I believe no one on forum would dispute me if I said that one of Pathfinder’s goals is to maximize meaning player interaction. In fact Ryan in the same panel describe maximizing meaningful player interaction as the first core goal Goblin works and Pazio decided upon.
Hmmm meaningful player to player interaction it has some possibilities. The problem with it is while player vs player is too narrow in its scope meaningful player to player is too general.
First let try to come with descriptions for most player to player interaction in any sandbox game, Pathfinder Online included. Most sand box games have consensual/non-consensual player interaction. Below is my definition of what consensual player interaction means to me.
Consensual player to player interaction: is any interaction where both parties agree to accept the results of the interaction no matter if the results are positive or negative to them.
Thinking a day or two on this it came to me that we could possibly used the axis system that Dungeons and Dragons uses for its alignment system to further define consensual/non-consensual player to player interaction.
The first part of our Axis would be:
Triggered Consensual player interaction: consent to engage in player to player interaction will be triggered by a pop up box that allows you to decide to either to accept or deny interacting with the other player. Ex: Trading or sparing.
Acceded Consensual player interaction consent is taken as given. In many sandbox games players would assume that by your doing an action or your entering an area you have already consented to interact with them. Ex: placing an item for sale in the action house, or enter Nul space in eve.
Non-consensual player interaction where one player tries to force consent on another. ex: attacking a non-flag player, griefing would be a toxic example.
In DND alignment the second axis is good neutral and evil. Our version would be:
Positive/Positive the results of the interaction would give both parties a positive benefit. Ex: Joining a charter company, activates one would do at a settlement like training or crafting.
Positive/Negative the interaction would result in one side gaining a benefit and the other side receiving a penalty. EX: SAD, War.
Positive/Neutral an interaction where only one party gains a positive benefit. The other party thinking other crafters here do not receive any benefit or penalty Ex. selling an item on the auction House. *suggested by Bluddwolf :)
Neutral/Neutral any interaction with another player were the results has no apparent in game benefit or penalty. ex: the most basic example would be any role playing activity
How do I see this in Pathfinder? I believe the player interaction in Pathfinder would be mostly Acceded Consensual player interaction with P/P, P/N and N tags. While Non-consensual player interaction cannot be totally eliminated it will always have consequences for the person forcing interaction against an unwilling player. Goblin Works and the community of player will also be working their hardest to eliminate any toxic interaction whenever it happens.
Well there is my long and rambling thoughts on the matter.
Let me start I have read this thread and thought long and hard on if I wish to add anything to it and if I did what I would say. Many posters on this thread I respect and admire. Of the more vocal ones I wish to single out would be both Bluddwolf and Nihimon. I believe that the both of you add much to the community as a whole.
@Bluddwolf I noticed that you may feel that some see your posts are rude and toxic to this community. I do not see them as such. It may be because I am a Native New Yorker that I do not see them that way. New Yorkers have the tendency to be curt, and speak our mind without sugar coating our words or considering the political correctness of what we are saying. We just say what is on our minds and let the chips fall where they may. I see a lot of that in the way you post. You are to me the visual face of the pvp community. Even though my desire is to have a non-combatant character you and your group made me feel welcome and and a member of your group Xeen offer to take me out and teach the ways of the pvp world is appreciated.
@ Nihimon Your vision, ideas and the time you give to this community is very valuable and very appreciate by many. My respect for you is so high that TSV is on my short list of charter companies to check out when I am in EE because of you and the work you have done here in the past.
On to the matter of what you Nihimon you have asked many times: What does it look like to be intolerant of unacceptable behavior?
It is my belief that the only person’s behavior acceptable or unacceptable I can be responsible for is my own. The only person’s posts I can judge correctly if it is to be positive or negative to the community at large are my own. I am sorry but I have to disagree with you that as a single person on this forum I have the right to determine if another person’s action is becoming toxic and is unacceptable. I believe that is the right and the job of forum moderators to decide and if chastisement is called for, it is for them to initiate.
What can I do if someone is acting in a manner that is disrespectful to the community? I think that my responsibility is to politely point out that Goblin Works wish that we as posters respect each other. I think Bluddwolf cover this very well in his code when he wrote: Be Brave - Admit when you are wrong; respectfully point out when you feel someone else wrong.
Speaking of which I can fully stand behind the code Bluddwolf wrote in his post:
To my version of this code I will only add one item:Be Chivalrous- if it becomes clear discussion has reached the point where an agreement cannot be reached I will respectfully agree to disagree and take the topic off the public forums to a private one if necessary.
I end my thoughts with a personal observation it seems to me this topic has too many posts were fingers are being pointed at each other. I will end my thoughts with a familiar quote I think many here will recognize:
“When one point a finger accusing someone of being in the wrong one should notice that three fingers are pointing back at you.”
It is my wish the tension that is being felt by me right now here is just birthing pains and we will reach an understanding and become a stronger closer community because of it.
ed because of Xeen's post below
