With his fresh drink in hand Devin accepts the invitation and heads over to the table where the two women are sitting. The brawny redhead pulls up a seat and smiles, "nice to meet you Hannah. And Yeah I was surprised more people weren't injured by the double jump?" Devin pauses to drink his beer, "and what do you ladies have planned for the rest of the evening?"

It looks like people have been hitting the bottle pretty hard tonight by the time Lt. Cerrone enters Sasha's and plops at the bar leaving plenty of room between him and Gunny to right and the commander he is talking to, Devin was unable to make out the name. "Beer me," he says noticing that it is Cpl. Bodie tending bar and he shoots him a concerned look to which the corporal just offers a shrug.

@Thea, that sounds good

Who am I in love with? Why haven’t I told them yet?

Ashley Wagner, a newly minted Ensign in the Medical Corps, she is the younger sister of his best friend and fellow Marine who was killed while they were evacuating planet-side civilians when the Corax attacked.

Whose plans have I got in the way of? How?

Lt. Commander Rowan Acker, I diverted resources to saving the civilians instead of blowing up military buildings to prevent sensitive information and tech falling into enemy hands. While I managed to blow up the builds it is impossible to know what if any info the Corax managed to transmit before being pulverized. This resulted in a loss in opportunity for promotion to Captain and 30 days confined to the brig and loss of pay during such confinement.

And I have these open if anyone wants to jump on them.
Whose life have I saved? How?
Who have I sacrificed greatly for? What did I give up for them?

How are we handling the rank structure, there are two options listed in the book or are we going to do our own thing?

Devin and Taryn
If Ahmad and Rani were involved in binding Taryn I would say it is very likely that Devin was also there, surprised to see her alive. And since he thought that he killed her, Devin was likely drawn to the area to hunt werewolves and such.

Devin and Ahmad
When his power goes to his head Devin becomes hard to reason with especially in the face a direct challenge or threat and starts to rely on magic a little too much.

Devin and Rani
Rani and Devin were trying to recover a spell book when Rani ripped open a portal that tried to suck her in. Devin was forced to abandon his quest for the book to close the portal and save Rani.

Devin and Oscar
Sounds good. Any particular area of interest?

1.) They probably all know Devin is a caster of sorts and that he isn't from Sioux Falls

2.)
• They act as your conscience when the power goes to your head. Ask them about the last time this happened. Ahmed, between being a counselor and being over protective thought he might be a good fit?
• Blood relation, though you were out of contact for years. Ask them how they reconnected with you.
• Mentor from another life. Ask them what they taught you.
• Your magic-fueled rescue of them introduced them to the supernatural. Tell them what creature was after them.
• An old rivalry has turned into a tight friendship. Tell them what you once fought over. Rani, perhaps we fought over some sort of magical trinket but a third party stole it while we were distracted with each other?
• You thought they were dead, and now they’re back. What “killed” them? Taryn? Perhaps before he knew she was a werewolf.
• They’re an on-again/off-again love interest. Ask them what keeps you apart. Tell them what keeps you together.
• A comrade-in-arms. You’ve faced the biggest threats together.

3.) Use magic

4.) Done

5.) Sounds good

"Do we have a pry bar or anything we can use to break open the other lockers."

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Round 1

Move Action: Move into flanking (if he can)

Standard Action: Smash Zombie

Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Maneuvering through, around, and between people, lockers, benches, and debris, Devin is able to get behind a Zombie and bludgeon it.

As everyone files out Devin checks the teacher's pockets for keys and wallet, then follows out the door.

Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

"I am amenable to grouping up for the scavenging, just need to get these scratches taken care of then I'm good to go." Devin takes off his jacket and points to his left arm where there is noticeable bruising from where the zombie grabbed him.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Devin enters the medical room, "Morning everyone, my name is Devin, Im a Leo, I like long walks on the beach and baseball, and at this point I don't think our grade standing matters anymore. I got bruised up a bit fighting some zombies and would like to get patched up, scavenge what we can from here, and then GTFO." he says in a low deadpan voice.

Walking at a brisk pace, I believe heading toward the medical area

I think it could set up some great opportunities for story telling ala Lenny and George in Of Mice and Men, hopefully with a better outcome.

Diplomacy lol: 1d20 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + (4) = 18
"Mino, I promise I will try to keep you safe from the horrors that are coming, but I can't protect you from your own choices, if you wish to stay than do so but I beg you don't interfere with us. If you stay here I promise it will end badly, Lizzy only cares about herself. Please come with us" Devin'says voice is clearly paidNed and he can feel his heart pounding in his throat.

As they continue down the hall, "Her being so nice was weird, it made my skin crawl. Now for the million dollar question, are you stayin here or coming with us? If you are we'll need something bigger than my dirt bike."

Devin stands and moves to Electra, "Calm down, Fräulein." He says rather firmly.

Moving in much closer he whispers softly, "Ich habe ein schlechtes Gefühl über die Dinge, lasst uns hier raus."

Turning to the rest of the children in the room, "Electra and I will begin securing the rest of floor, Lizzy you stay here, this will be our base of operations as we clear and take control of the rest of the school." Devin walks to the front of the classroom and draws a rough lay out of the floor. "We will began here on the other side of the water. Broom boys will guard the door. Those of you who can help will build a temporary barrier on the non water side so we will only have to worry about attacks from one side. I have more plans but let's see how this works before we push on." When he finishes he heads for the door.

Devin returns to the classroom and finds a cloth and wipes the remains of zombies from his face. He sits at a desk as he feels the adrenaline fade and his heart rate return to normal. After a heavy grunt, "Well, what's next?"

Round 9

Devin moves to the next zombie and swings for the fence.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Round 10

Devin continues to smash zombies

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Opposed Grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Unless we are using Pathfinder CMB/CMD, either way it would appear I am grappled

Round 7
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Switching from a more baseball like swing to an overhead chop Devin misses wildly.

Round 6?

Swapping places with the boy on the far end of the line swings at the zombie.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

After securing the student from the water Devin heads to assist with the non water bound zombies.

F~#! me sideways!
Devin carefully walks into the water to try and save his fellow student.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Once next to the other students he attempts to drag him away from the Zombies.

"Let's do it boys" Devin ventures out into the hallway. He spots the boy in the hallway slipping around in the water. Moving to the edge of the water . "One of you use the broom to try and assist him if you can and the other watch our backside"

"Well I'm batting a thousand so far," Devin says with his baseball bat resting on his shoulder. "Let's be quick about this."

"Well here are my thoughts,

1. We can stay in this tiny room, with no water, food, or toilet, and wait for help. Devin shakes his head slightly before continuing.
2. Attempt to secure the whole school from top to bottom. That may expand our resources a bit.
3. Seek out shelter elsewhere.

No matter what we should do some scouting outside.

Hallways are useless if we don't know where we are going. Schprichst Sie Deutch? or are you using a translater?

Devin sets the girl down as gently as he can along the wall. Peering out the window and witnessed the carnage happening outside. Placing his hands on the window and notices they are covered in that poor girl's blood. We're F'ed in the A. Turning to the room he senses panick is starting to set in, and the teacher whimpering behind her desk isn't helping.

Pulling his baseball bat from his bag he empties the remaining contents on to the ground, books, papers and pencils spill out, not much use at the moment.

Lizzy looks to be in full blown megalomaniacal euphoria. Mino stands by waiting to be ordered about. Electra seems to be setting calmly using her phone. Approaching Electra first, getting her attention he puts his finger to his lips as a sign to be quite the gestures to the window. He then does the same with Mino and Lizzy.

Devin was nearing his classroom as the second announcement came overhead.

GM Wolf wrote:
About 15 minutes into Homeroom another Announcement comes on, the man seems likely one of the teachers but his breath is ragged and stressed, "This announcement is for all students, an emergency situation is happening in the school right now. All students are to follow their teacher's instructions and remain in your classroom. I repeat an emergency situation is happening in the school right now... Euughhha!... Aaaaah.... .... Aaaaahhh... Help, Help!.... ...."

Briefly frozen while he listened to the screams for help. Students began to pour out of their rooms and turn into a stampede once panic set in. A girl was pushed to the ground with a sickening thud. This all snapped Devin back to reality, he shoved a few students out of his way and grab the girl and pushed his way into the closest classroom 2-A.

"Get up or you'll be late for school," Devin heard his mother say from down the hall, "I'll be working late tonight so you are on your own for dinner, breakfast is on the table, be safe on that death trap you ride around on, and I love you."

"Love you too," he replied just before he heard the door shut. Devin quickly ate his breakfast and was out the door. For some reason traffic was awful today but being on a motorcycle made things easier. Arriving at the school just before the gates closed, the parking lot was empty of people. Devin parked his bike and walked through the doors just to hear student body president Dorky McDingus finish his announcements.

Devin won't likely run into anyone unless someone else also wishes to be late.

Are we going to combine Speak Language and Read/Write Language into Linguistics?

Anything I need to add?

Backstory:

Six months after his father’s death, while still in the anger stage of grief, Devin Cerrone found himself in a strange land beset by strangers. His mother moved Devin to Japan when she took a director position at a Bio-Tech firm. As a military child he was used to moving around, Washington to Germany to DC to Colorado, but this was different. This time there he wasn’t surrounded by others who knew what it was like, who spoke his native language, and who shared a common culture with him. Devin was never angry at Japan or the Japanese people but he was angry. He and his father had been close and shared and adventurous spirit, they took many trips together, big game hunting, mountain climbing, and baseball games, just to name a few.

Devin’s preferred method of lashing out and rebellion was performing extreme (and often stupid) stunts, he would find tall buildings and post videos of him walking along the edge and occasionally repelling down the side. His mother would frequently ask him if he was trying to kill her. She was as devoted a mother as one could be trying to juggle raising a son by herself and a high pressure job, but it provided them a better life, or so she hoped. The move and the job offered Devin to attend a prestigious private school. Devin liked the school just fine when he was there and not sneaking off to do something stupid and dangerous. Devin would often miss school to travel and do things with the men his father served with and their families.

About nine months of living in Japan Devin was beginning to settle in. He had joined a baseball team and was finding more common ground with those around him. In addition to school he found a part-time job assisting a mechanic, he mostly took the job so he could fix a dirt bike he bought for cheap but turned out to cost a great deal to fix. There were a few other American kids at the school that he would pal around with at times, but his tendency to pull stunts and get in trouble, despite positive strides, often left him on the outside looking in. Most students and facility knew who he was but not many knew him very well. Except Mino Fujimiya, Devin’s on-again-off-again love interest, a grade behind and from an uptight background, Devin’s Devil-may-care attitude made her heart race and head spin. Mino falling in with Lizzy's underlings has put strain on the relationship.

Allegiances:

Family-Mother
Nation- USA and Japan
Mino... most of the time.

Other Students:

Electra - A bit stuffy and too smart for her own good, Devin knows what its like to be away from your home land and since he speaks German will often speak to her in her native language, even though she speaks English better than he does.
Lizzy - Vapid and Shallow, she is actively avoided by Devin due to issues involving an on again off again relationship with one of her minions.
Maki - Knowing the sting of the loss of a parent, Devin is sympathetic to Maki but keeps a distance due to her relation to Law Enforcement.
Loup -

Backstory:

Elbris was the runt of the litter, and now he is the last one left. From his very birth something seemed off about Elbris to those around him, some were put off by the obsidian black of his coat, but some thought his color was a bad omen. He grew from a runt to one of the most physically imposing members of the Seven Sisters pack. Within a year he as big as most adults and now he is almost 4 feet at the shoulder. Even-though some members were unsettled by Elbris no one was ever hostile towards him, at least no openly. Then one day tragedy struck the pack when they were led into an ambush and the pack was demolished. During the attack Elbris flew into a mighty fury. As he raged his forelegs turned into massive demonic limbs ending in razor sharp claws. This resulted in confirmation in some minds that Elbris was a walking bad omen. Elbris now seeks a way to prove his goodness to those who doubt him.
