Hi,

i believe the answer to my question in the subject is yes, but i couldn't find anything as definitive as i would like (even though i thought i had seen something at one point).

oh, and in case it isn't clear enough in the subject i'm asking if i cast magic vestment on my +1 armor, at a level at which magic vestment gives a +1 enhancement bonus, does the armor acts as +2 armor? and likewise with magic weapon.

thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi,

I thought I saw something in one of the books a bit ago that was purchasable 1/day flying enhancement for heavy armor, or maybe it was a specific full plate that could fly once a day, but now I can't manage to find it anywhere.

Does that ring a bell for anyone? and if so, could you fill me in?

Thanks in advance!

So there's feat ways to get decided to damage for slashing weapons (dervish dance, slashing grace), but I can't find one for an actual piercing weapon. Anyone have any insight on this? It doesn't have to be a feat, just want dex to damage on a rapier without buying the agile property.
Thanks in advance

Hi, does anyone know of any magical items that give an extra channel or two per day? Thanks

hey, so if my magus has the silent spell arcana and the still spell arcana, can he use both of them at once to cast a silent and still spell?

thanks in advance

So does such a thing exist that does not actually increase strength but just increases the checks?

Thanks in advance

i noticed recently an item that added +2 to dex as well as other things that wasn't the belt. i haven't found anything similar for wis. is anything out there that i've missed?

thanks in advance.

howdy,
so i believe that if a cleric's domain spell is not a cleric spell, then s/he can only prepare it in the domain spell slot.
this makes it seem to me that they "kind of" know the spell.
so what happens with wands and scrolls? can cleric's automatically use wands and scrolls of their domain spells that are not cleric spells?
and this is for pfs.

thanks in advance.

so does anyone know if any exists for channeling positive energy?

i've been looking through what i can, but i haven't found anything yet.
any info would be greatly appreciated.
- thanks

in the description of ghoul touch, it makes it seem that the save is just in relation to the sickened feeling for those in the 10 ft. radius of the paralyzed person and that the person touched becomes paralyzed with no save if the touch attack lands. that seems kind of crazy but definitely how it seems to read in plain english. is there any precedent for the way spell descriptions work that points to the save also being in regards to the touch effect.

has there been any clarification on if you can use force punch to push people off of ledges or into fire or whatnot?

Hi, i was wondering if there is any way to store a wand as a free action? i wouldn't need to access it again easily, but after using it to cast something, i'd like to be able to get it out of my hand (without dropping it) and move if possible.

anyone know of anything?

thanks in advance.

oh, and i'm already locked into being a half-orc, so no tail (not that i'm sure if that would work with a tiefling or not)

so if i have a snake animal companion take the light armor proficiency feat, i can get him mithril shirt type armor for instance? it seems to mess with balance to give this to things like tigers and not, say, a snake, but it also seems weird to give it to the snake. have i missed any faq about this or anything?

thanks in advance, new to druids :-)

hey folks, i'm thinking of building a pfs touch spell focused sorcerer (you know, because it's going to be super overpowered ;-)
i don't totally get the wording of the various rules though, so i was hoping someone might be able to help me out (and again, i'm talking about raw since it's for pfs)

1. i get a free touch attack attempt the round i cast the spell. does casting it/charging it up (not the touch part) cause an AoO as per a normal spell?

2. given the free touch attack after i've cast/charged up, can i cast/charge the touch spell, move, and then take the free touch attack to avoid any AoO (assuming they happen)?

3. does weapon finesse allow me to make touch attacks with my dex bonus - i'm pretty sure this is yes, but since i think of that as being initially meant for physically damaging attacks, i wanted to double check.

4. would weapon focus unarmed strikes help with unarmed touch attacks?

again, i'm talking raw here for pfs.
thanks in advance for any help!

quick question about how folks think trade barges go up river. i've been creating some homebrew for friends and they'll be moving some merchandise up river shortly. all i can figure is that they'll be taking turns rowing. they may be being attacked while rowin away from the dock (if rowing is what makes sense).
i was wondering if folks had any other thoughts on how barges moved up river and any thoughts on the mechanics of rowing and speed of the boat . . .
any thoughts at all would be helpful.
thanks in advance.

so the flurry of maneuvers ability allows this archetype to do an additional combat maneuver during a full round action. my question is, is there anyway to use that with an overrun? if you're charging for the overrun, would you be able to add another combat maneuver attempt after the overrun since a charge is considered, in many ways, a full round action? also, i'm thinking of this for pfs, so i guess i need more of a raw interpretation.

thanks in advance.

basically the subject heading. i had a pfs gm state that one could wear muleback cords as well as a cloak of resistance tonight. muleback cords were new to me and my 10 strength character, so i came home and looked them up, but they're in the shoulders section of ue, as are cloaks, so i assumed that meant one could not wear them at the same time.
any insight would be greatly appreciated.

so, my question.

can you, for instance, cast torture with the barrier target word? i feel as though i've seen it implied that you could. if so, how long does the barrier last? there's nothing in the description of the barrier target word that i could find regarding this. all i can figure is that we have to assume that it lasts as long as torture's effect would last, but that doesn't really make a ton of sense to me either, i mean it's not as though a burst of torture would be more than instantaneous, but an instantaneous barrier seems to kind of defeat the purpose (not that one couldn't still find uses for it).
any thoughts?
thanks in advance.

I haven't been able to find this anywhere.
on the grapple flow chart, if one takes damage from an AoO while attempting to grapple, the amount of damage taken is subtracted from his CMB grapple roll.
once he succeeds with the first grapple, if the defender or his buddies damage our grappler with attacks, does that damage get subtracted from his next CMB roll to maintain the grapple/pin the guy?

like i said, couldn't find this anywhere.
thanks in advance.

so has there been any change on the weapon adept archetype and the limited weapon selection for perfect strike? it just seems so silly for a chore archetype ability to limit the weapon choice so severely when there's all these newer monk weapons.
just wondering/hoping.

howdy, i'm thinking of making a grappling tetori monk for a pfs game, but i was a little worried a about grappling's viability in the higher levels, and if in order to be good enough at grappling to be effective i would be too gimped in everything else to do much once we're rarely fighting anything that can be grappled.
any insights would be greatly appreciated.

if one has weapon finesse, can they use their dex instead of strength for the cmb for a grapple check (as folks with weapon finesse when tripping with a rapier, for example, may use their weapon finesse modified rapier attack in calculating their trip attempt)?
or would one have to take agile maneuvers?

thanks in advance

I'm still a little fuzzy on PDFs rules and am getting ready to head to my first game. Is the feat piranha strike legal? I wasn't sure since it's listed as piano but peripheral.
Thanks in advance

a couple of quick questions.
1. are eastern weapons just like other/standard weapons meaning that a fighter's martial weapon proficiency means that he is proficient with all the martial eastern weapons as well?

2. i asked 1 in part because of the tengu "exotic weapon training" trait which states they can gain proficiency in 3 + int modifier eastern weapons (which seemed to imply that eastern weapons were considered differently). my question about that trait is, does that include eastern exotic weapons? or just simple/martial eastern weapons?

thanks in advance

edit - and would a kama count as far as the sword trained trait? i can't decide if it being curved similarly to a sickle takes it out of that category.

so if a feat requires two ranks of a skill, can i take that feat at second level (at the same time i take the second rank of the feat), or do i have to have already had both ranks, so i can't take it until 3rd?

while i have you, if i am fighting with a one handed weapon, do not have twf or flurry, but do have imp unarmed and stunning fist - can i at any point choose to use one of my attacks as unarmed and go for a stunning fist? i assumed so at first, but then i suddenly wondered if there was a problem with that.

thanks in advance.

howdy. i'm looking for official (or officialish) clarification of the gang up feat. over in an advice post that was looking for help getting sneak attacks for a rogue, someone stated that in the gang up feat, you count as your own ally, so it only needs to be you (the rogue) and one other ally adjacent to the same foe to get the flanking bonus.

does anyone know of anything official that makes this clear?

thanks in advance

I'm getting ready to play in my first pathfinder society game andi have a question about the dawnflower dervish arch. It says you get the dervish dancer feat as a bonus feat in place of bardic knowledge. You get bardic knowledge at first level, so i've been assuming that's when you get dervish dance, but it does not specify that you get to skip the pre-reqs (as things like the monk's obtaining stunning fist does), and it does not specify getting it at the bards first level as most replacement feats do. I can't imagine it not doing these things, but it also seems weird not to have specified it.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting ready to start my first pathfinder society game and am thinking of creating a fighter who uses a fauchard. in reading the list of weapons under the polearm section for weapon training, it's not listed even though it's basically a type of polearm as far as i can tell. doe that mean that i can't take advantage of weapon training with that weapon (or any other similarly not specifically mentioned weapon)? or is it understood that one adds the weapons that make sense.

thanks in advance.

so for spells and spell like abilities where you "touch a willing creature" to give them some sort of bonus, i'm assuming that a player can touch himself, but i just wanted to double check since it seems that it would be so easy to insert the two words of "yourself or" after "touch" and it would leave it completely unambiguous - which made me wonder if you can't effect yourself for those abilities/spells.

any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy. I'm really trying to find a way to make a monk with a reach weapon, and i really mean a monk, not a fighter with a 1 or 2 lvl dip. nothing against that, i just want to try it with more of the monk abilities for flavor if possible.

so along with the flavor of the monk, i like the idea of reach with said monk to be able to pushing assault folks away, continue attacking with lunge and then force them to use up their move action to get to me and give me an AoO while they get back to me.

The trouble i'm having is finding a way to get enough hit to be able to feel confident connecting on those AoOs.

At first i figured i would go:
1. crusader cleric of shelyn which gives me weapon focus with the glaive as a bonus feat.
2. Martial Artist monk - taking crusader flurry at 2nd to be able to flurry with the glaive.
.
.
.

the problem here was that i am now starting with two lvls at 0 BAB which is a bit rough by itself and i can't get any of the important feats leading to the main use for lunge (power attack, furious assault, pushing assault) without a BAB of +1.

Then i decided to go:
1. Fighter - take power attack, furious assault, pushing assault (possibly save pushing for later since no one has more than one attack now anyways, but maybe just take it for fun, flavor, and AoOs)
2. Crusader Cleric of Shelyn - weapon focus glaive
3 Martial artist, picking up crusader flurry immediately.
.
.
.

i really like the flavor of this and i think the couple of utility spells i'll pick up on one lvl of cleric would be fun, but i'm just not sure i'll be able to hit anything, especially on my AoOs, which is kind of the point.

I'm not to up on the newer equipment. Does anyone have any suggestions for making my hit acceptable? or different ideas for how to get there?

thanks in advance

a bit new here, and i've been looking around but still can't tell what the rules are concerning enchanting unarmed weapons (gauntlets) or light weapons that describe themselves as enhancing unarmed strikes (cestus, brass knuckles . . .).

i feel as though i've read a lot of frustration over the price of AoMF for monks, and other unarmed fighters, but wouldn't enchanting one of these weapons get around that? is that not allowed for some reason i'm missing? or does the dice damage difference matter that much? (i always assumed that the additions to the die were more important).

i'm thinking of creating a MoM2/Brawler, so i'd love some clarification on all this.

thanks in advance for any given.

i've got a question about the Sweeping Fend ability that a pole arm master gets at lvl 13.

it states that one can use any spear or pole arm to make a bull rush or trip maneuver, though he takes a -4 penalty to his CMB when making such attempts. Weapons with the trip property do not incur this penalty on trip maneuvers.

my confusion is that as far as i've always understood, anyone can make a trip attack with any weapon, so anyone (let alone a pole arm master) could already make a trip attack with a pole arm or spear, which means this special ability is actually outlining a penalty (the -4 to the CMB when making a trip). i'm totally confused. i'm assuming i'm missing something. if someone could enlighten me, that would be super.

thanks in advance

two quick rules questions.

first, i couldn't find anything on what happens if the attack of opportunity a caster takes while casting next to someone is a trip attack? normally my understanding is that the concentration check goes against whatever damage is done during the attack of opportunity, but a trip is calculated differently, so i wasn't sure what the case would be here. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

second, from reading the rules on a net, my take on it is that the entangled effect happens if you succeed the touch attack. then if you win the strength check, they can't move out of the 10 foot range or whatever. i'm assuming that means that you have to keep holding on to the rope attached to the net which would mean you can't really do much else. if you choose to net someone and then let go so that you can attack someone else or whatnot, they still have to succeed in the normal ways to get un-entangled, right?

again, any insight would be awesome. thanks so much.
