Hey all, I had a request for a character who has a giant T-Rex for a pet from one of my friends who loves the mental image. He's always wanted to play a character with a chompy pet like that following him around. My question is... what is the best way to go about it? My initial thought was druid, because that's easy, but after digging around a bit it looks like Hunter might be good too, with Primal Companion? Any suggestions? I know it gets large sized at level 7, but is there a way to get it bigger by level 10? Looking at it, buffing strength to the max, taking improved natural attack and power attack as feats, and then buffing it with some druid buff spells seems to be the main gist, though I'm sure I'm missing something. All paizo hardbacks allowed, any paizo race, 20 point buy, other material allowed on a per item review basis. Thanks for any help! (also, is there a way to get intimidating prowess on your T rex? Then it really could be the scariest critter!)

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA lately. Today was my 10th day on at work and my hours have been all over the place. Trying to get my schedule smoothed out, but DM feel free to GMPC me if I slow things down at any point.

"Arrrg! No one tells me what to do! Enough of your silly tricks!" Denlin cries. Attacking the acolyte that bogo is flanking with me

Will Save 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Denlin shakes his head a moment, then advances forward past the nearest acolytes as the ones in the back beckon. Oh well, time to WALK THE GAUNTLET

"Haha, I love introducing new people to Aunt Molly!" Denlin calls as he continues to advance. Moving up to the nearest enemy still standing (though I thought I splatted the one at F9, unless someone else took his place?) Rage and swing. AC is 16 unless I move 10 feet, in which case it's 14. Swing away: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 3) + 9 = 15

Denlin charges past the sleeping acolytes to attack one of the ones still standing. Charging to the acolyte at F9. AC is 16 this turn. Sword swinging: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17

"Haha, finally someone to hit! We can hit them, right?" Denlin asks almost pleadingly. Go go Initiative!: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Whelp, going cleric speed over here. I'm not declaring any actions yet, because I'm sure the enemy will act before me.
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
"Questions, questions, everyone with the questions. Why aren't we cracking skulls yet?" Denlin grumbles. OOC those are some very important questions being asked, Denlin just prefers to walk up and hit things is all.
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Seconded, also we need to keep maldor in the middle so everyone can get his aura. Denlin sleeps a bit fitfully due to the snell but thanks Bogo the next morning. "Thank you for sheltering us Bogo. Why did you say the Iron castle is such a bad place?"
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin follows along and points out several spots Aviari missed covering in the trail. Hey, don't forget to cover that hoof print. I thought you were one with nature?" he jests to Aviari with a big grin. Survival to assist Aviari: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin is taken aback at the offer by the troglodyte. He looks at the others. "You are offering a place to stay? I..." he pauses, looks at Teraldan and shakes his head. "We'll need a place to stay. If you want to learn from the halfling that's up to him, but I'll take a place to hole up and lick our wounds. What is your name?" he asks the troglodyte. I never imagined I would type those words. Well played GM.

Denlin helps Teraldan move Malthor, and stares in surprise when the troglodyte shows back up with the potion and the map. "Now that's a story I bet my Aunt Molly never even heard of! We've seen some crazy stuff already, I can't wait to find out what's next!" He listens to the conversation between Aviari and Teraldan and is left confused. "Now I don't know much about magic, but why would a critter like that come all the way back here to give us a bad potion? I bet the wizard can figure it out. Once you all get that figured out and we get loaded up, mind if I go with whoever is scouting out a campsite? An extra pair of eyes never hurt." I don't have much else to contribute, except to provide a lift to carry people. I've only got +2 to survival so I'm not that great, but an aid attempt might not hurt."
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin lets out a large sigh, then wearily strides over and boots the sleeping troglodyte off of Malthor. "Get out of here, run away and don't come back unless you want what your fellows got!" I'm assuming the troglodyte runs when he wakes up. Spent 2 rounds of rage and am currently feeling the effects, hence the tiredness. After he watches the trog scurry away, Denlin turns to the others, "I agree, let's see if we can find a secluded place to lick our wounds and maybe do some more scouting. Can someone help Malthor? We need to get everyone back on their feet and get moving. Knew I shoulda bought some potions instead of that ale!"
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
"Hrm... I guess it isn't really a threat by itself. Can anyone talk to it? Perhaps we can learn something useful." considering it's weapons are claws and teeth taking it's weapons away would involve disarming it...
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Man I forgot how... swing-y low level combat is. In under 2 rounds we went from half the party getting mauled down to healing/stabilizing people and being one good hit away from winning. You never know how it's going to go!
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin sees the trog near him fall unconscious. He calls to Maldor "Impressive work, finish him off! then rushes down to help the others. As he approaches the trog next to Quill he lets out a feral snarl and strikes down with Aunt Molly. Raging and attacking, don't fail me diceroller! AC is down to 16. Effects are protective ward +2AC, Inspire courage +1 hit/damage, sickened -2 attacks & saves. Aunt Molly: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 = 16

Whelp, at least I beat Maldor's initiative, so I hit(hopefully) one of the trogs before I got color sprayed. Jeez this fight is turning into a comedy of errors. :) Edit: Actually, since I moved down to G4, and maldor moved up to G5, wouldn't that actually put me just to the side of the spray if he's aiming for the other trog?
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin sees the others falling and lashes out at the trog behind him. "Come on Aunt Molly, there's work to be done!" 5 foot step to G4 to get out of flank and then attack the trog standing over malthor. Please don't hate me diceroller... Aunt Molly: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 4) + 10 = 16 Effects: inspire courage +1, sickened -2. AC 18
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin moves out of his flanked position to G3 5 foot step where he can start to set up a flank on of the left trog with Teralden. After seeing the horror the trogs are wreaking, Denlin keeps his defenses up and takes a careful swing at the nearest trog. "Keep fighting!" he calls to the others. Fighting defensively and holding off rage until we've dropped one of them. These guys are nasty AC is 20 at the moment.

Oh first level.... living at the vagaries of the dice. So Denlin is sickened and can't act. Time to tank with my face! Denlin hacks and gasps for breath. What is that horrid smell? Ahh, lizards!
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
On the map now. Thanks for the buff Maldor, that's really handy! Arya, what bonuses does that performance give? +1 competence(morale?) to hit and damage? Denlin sees the lizards charging, then unslings his greatsword to charge towards the nearest one with an angry roar. "ARRRG!" After enemies go, rage, move to nearest opponent and attack
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
"Well we know where they are, why not just go say hello with this girl?" Denlin gestures to the greatsword on his back. He's not the most... strategically oriented. He'll go along with what the others say, scouting is smart
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
After seeing that everyone else is buying a horse Denlin goes looking and eventually ends up buying a whiny nag for too much from a shifty local. "Flea bag, at least you'll keep me from getting too tired. Let's get out of here!"
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
After trying on the cloak Denlin nods hi head approvingly. "These should prove handy to sleep on, and help keep the rain off. Anything you want to take care of before we leave little boss? If you'd be willing to share some of that now, I can think of a few ways to spend it. Ha!" he asks Teraldan, gesturing to the up front money.
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin strides in with his newly reclaimed sword muttering about "thorn? I'll be you don't like thorns. Bah!" He greets the others "In case you hadn't heard, I'm the hero Denlin Longarm. I don't care what we do, as long as there's fighting to be done. I do like cracking orc skulls though. The more the mullberry, as my great Aunt Molly used to say!" At this point anyone friendly enough to say a few words will hear a repeat of the story he was telling in the common room to the people at his table. Denlin hates orcs and would prefer to crack some skulls, but clearing out the castle is fine as well.
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin sees the others agreeing to join. "I've yet to meet any challenge I couldn't rise to elf. However, the runt here-"points to Gellumniq" has a point, say we sign on with you, what's to keep us from ending up like that bull man? You answer that and I'm in."
Human Init +1, AC 16(14), HP 18/18(20). Saves F+5(7), R+2, W+2(4). (Perception +1, Survival +2) Barbarian 1
Denlin sees the cow beast drop at his feet. "Feh, poison. Nasty trickery. Let's see what we have... hrm. Couldn't be worse than that time my uncle Aldernon went gambling with a troll!" He nods to the others and follows them to room two. As he starts away he sees the little man spring into action and declare healing for all. "Ho there gnome. I don't know much about your god, but if you're interested in drinking as much as healing I'd be happy to share some stories with you."
