Ahhh. My bad. Right, so I should have -2 to ACP then. Got it. I will make it simpler: Marcus (his father) is Uther's nephew. Making my PC, a grand nephew (if there's such thing). Probably takes me out of any line of succession. Or at least puts me behind another 100 people who have more rights, power, or influence to claim the throne.

Hide armor has an ACP of -1. My Armor Expert trait negates 1 from the ACP, hence no change to my skill total. I'll do the fix on the language issue. Would it make a difference if he was Uther's great nephew instead? Or how about if Uther's sister is his mother (instead of Uther's brother his father)?

Following this thread with great interest. So much so, that I'm even considering a mixed Celtic/Roman ranger. JB you said Roman was one of the spoken languages. Wouldn't that be Latin? Also, some of the spoken languages might not of had a corresponding written script. I'm sure the Picts were totally illiterate. I doubt the celtic druids wrote anything either. Should check about the Franks and Saxons. The fountain of all knowledge, aka Wiki, could assert that. I'm just too lazy to find out.
Just like I predicted. Ravina aka DM AldoriRavenLord's thread kicked off yesterday and already has boomed with applicants. The interesting thing about Kingmaker is that you don't even need to stick to the core AP modules. The exploration/conquest/sandbox theme has a powerfully enough scent to lure most gamers into it. Luv it.
What did I tell ya? Place the word "Kingmaker" in the title, and they come swarming over. BTW: I like the way you completely divorced character creation from the unpredictable rolls of the game. There's a place and time for chaos in the game itself. Equality is so much better here. BTW #2: I also really like how you automatically dismissed the Ninjas and friends. Kingmaker is for the non-whacks. This will be an awesome game! My crystal ball has spoken. Good luck.
See. What did I just say: mention the word Kingmaker, and players are buzzing like flies to honey smears. I have my reservation about PbP games, even when they're not sandboxes. Never worked for me. I need a more instant cause end effects game. GM DSP: what would it take to get you to take the bate a second time? Ravenica: I like everything you did in your recruitment thread bar one: PbP. However, I'm pretty sure your game will kick off irrespective of my prejudice. Just you see.
I agree. Kingmaker looks like the best option out there, but the minute an opening is posted it's filled up by 50 applicants within 30 seconds. Maybe the best thing to do is start one with rotating GM'ing. We agree on the basic ruleset that will be used and how the game will be run. It's really mainly sandbox anyway, having vast flexibility of modules that can be run independently of the core AP ones. I'm in favour of using Maptools (free) with a voice chat option, to get the closest thing we'll get to a tabletop game. Once or twice a month. Predetermined day and time. My pet peeves: far out races and classes. |
