quick background:
Davorik is from a small farming community a few days travel east from Sandpoint. As a kid he grew up helping out on the farm and hunting small game to provide some additional meat. It was during one of these small hunting trips a the age of 14 that he saw smoke on the horizon and thought the small community was having a large bonfire for a boar roast. It wasn't till after he got down hunting that he saw the damage down to the apothecary and heard what happened to the proprietor. Even at age 14 Davorik wished he could have been there to help fight the hill giants that were the cause of the mayhem. He knew he didn't have the strength nor training though to be of much help. This desire stayed with Davorik over the next few years. At the age of 16, with blessings from his parents, he left for the short trip to Sandpoint to join the town guard/militia. Two years of work and training have gone by without him needed to help defend Sandpoint or his families community. This is a good thing to Davorik as only a fool looks for trouble. Indeed, he keeps his sword sharp and armor ready in case they are needed, but does not wish to use them. Davorik does make trips back home. See his family or have them visit him in Sandpoint if they need to make some purchases of items they can't make themselves. The swallowtail festival is one such occasion that his family would be in town. If an event were to happen that Davorik would have to choose between family and duty he would probably be forced into resigning and go help his family. However, Davorik hopes that eventuality never occurs as his family is close enough to run to Sandpoint if any major threat is known of in enough time. Davorik kept looking down at the piece of paper in his hand. Take the first right once you come to the temple of Erastil. Keep going down until you see the blacksmith. Take a left and go past the fletcher. Another block down you will see the Rusty Dragon on the right. If you reach the bridge spanning the Sellen River you have gone too far. Surely he was on the right path that the caravan master indicated. He saw the blacksmith and the fletcher but where was the tavern that Master Shinn told him about? Things were sure different away from home. Everything was much larger and more crowded than he expected. He kept clutching his purse reflexively, hearing too many stories of quick hands and unwary people. He was not going to another statistic in the big city. Suddenly Davorik caught the sound of music and laughter. Traveling another 100 feet she could make out the sign overhanging the doorway. At last. I need a good meal and some relaxation. The last month of traveling with the caravan was long work with long hours. At least it is over now.. Entering the inn Davorik takes a quick look around before he takes any action. It paid to be cautious in a new area even if the place was recommended by Shinn. Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, Davorik makes his way slowly to a table where he can see the entrance. Once there he relaxes a bit as he accustomed himself to the Rusty Dragon. Across the room he sees what must be a group of Dwarven explorers with mugs piled high on the table. Not understanding anything from across the room Davorik looks at those closer. A couple is sitting nearby laughing at a private conversation, 3 elves are relaxing at the bar drinks in hand, a group of people standing around the fireplace talking and some dancing to the music. All in all a festive place and one that is comfortable. That is except for the single man two tables away from him. The man was alone and from Davorik could tell was drinking nothing than water. He had a hard look about him and it wasn't just from the heavy flail tht rested by him. It was the fact that no one approached him and few even looked his way. Davorik ordered a meal of roast beef, potatoes and a loaf of bread with butter. A the young lass delivered the food Davorik asked, Who is that 2 tables over? I don't know but he paid with foreign currency. He is not from around here that much I can tell you. with that she walked away to leave Davorik to his musings. Although Davorik wanted to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, his training and upbringing as a member of the city guard would not let him ignore the man. If the man tried something unlawful Davorik would be ready to intercede with blade and shield if necessary. As a young man from a small town Davorik is cautious at first when in a new location. It also causes him to be a bit shy until he gets comfortable with his surroundings. When presented with a possible threat Davorik is not afraid to meet it head on if action is called for but is patient enough to scope out the situation first before rushing in.

As for myself I am CST and post most often from 9:00-11:00PM. I am currently running both Wrath of the Righteous and Reign of Winter pbp campaigns here on the boards so am on every night unless indicated otherwise. Winter campaign and Wrath campaign Just saw that the dwarf ranger is a two weapon fighter as well so that might take me out of the running. If selected though that is going to be a lot of attacks between the two of them though.

Selena grew up without her mother. That always made things interesting when she was having difficulties with her father. The most common fight was always about following in his footsteps. She did not have the same passion as he did nor his abilities. In fact her abilities were all innate not learned the way his were. To this end she was able to hide that fact but soon she would have to admit her deception. Thus far it was easy to fool him as he wanted to believe her. What that would do to him she was unsure, but she knew she would have to have this discussion before long. She was afraid though that he would make another solitary trip like he did when her mother passed away. She always knew that her father had pursued demons and slain them as if they were at fault for her mother passing. She ddint know what the real purpose was that he was there. She saw many others take similar journeys. She just thought that others felt the same on the many excursions that she saw. Someday she knew that she would also join them to carry on her father's tradition.
Very interested as well both from the story line and the intro tying it all together. I prefer golarion and havent dealt with psionics but I am interested to see where it would go. Even if psionics are being used I will probably stay away from them myself. Will keep an eye open closely for more information on the char generation for the AP and intro. Hmmm time to get the ideas flowing. Thanks for running an AP by the way.
Clarify last line from before: What I meant by Davorik hoping his family is close enough to Sandpoint is that Sandpoint is the largest community nearby and thus the most defended. He would hope his family would come here and stay in Sandpoint during any trouble. That way Davorik would protect his family and the town at the same time. If asked/forced to leave then Davorik would go if knowing that his actions will protect his family back home. Sorry about the lack of detail before, I had my 3 yr old wanting my attention and wanted to get the answers to you questions up. It was only as I was checking the thread that I realized I didn't finish my entire train of thought.

Oh, another question about your character. How did he find out about his home town, and what was his initial reaction? Thirdly, how can he reconcile his obligation to his town guard job? didnt make a name for the farming community as to leave it open for you for any RP or plot hooks. How is initiative being decided with combat? Is it individual turns based on initiative, group initiative, split initiative in two groups? Just wondering as I have been involved in both and favor the split or initiate for PbP. Slit allows for a rogue to still have high initiative to get a sneak attack in.
Ok finally have time to make a post with Davorik the two weapon fighter (scimitar and lt shield). The crunch and background are in the profile except for 1 feat as trying to make a final decision (toughness, power attack, weapon focus, shield focus...so many options) is the alternate racial trait for humans available to exchange the bonus feat and skill points for a +2 to any stat? If so I would up str by 2 to 18. ThE gist of it is local boy sees his home attacked by giants. He is too late to get their to help and doesn't have the training anyways. To fix that he heads to Sandpoint and joins the militia and town guard to be better prepared the next time a threat arises. Comeliness roll 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 5) - 1 = 18 drop the 3 for a 15 comeliness. Please ask any questions as I would love to be in this campaign since I only wetted my appetite my first time around. Also good to post at least once a day.

Davorik is about to turn to the mayor when the Sheriff arrives, quickly saluting, Davorik listens intently about yet another group of goblins in Sandpoint. He has many qustions to ask about why here and now but knows that this is not the time. Instead, nodding to understand the information given to him, he hastily reports, I'm ready, sir. Gilly there I don't understand. She spoke fine until the goblins appeared then it has all been rubbish. I am sure if made aware of the situation she would help just as the others would. I'll go with them now and keep Krugnuk busy. You can count on me. Davorik keeps his scimitar out and is ready to head out the moment the sheriif sends him north. He didn't want to speak for his new friends, but the two of them seemed capable and he would appreciate the help removing the goblin riff-raff.

I posted my first round action already last time which I think you included in your update. So instead I will wait this round. Davorik rushes up to the goblin whipping the scimitar in the air. The blade flashes in the sitting light at the blade turns crimson doused with the blood of the goblin laying at his feet. He looks to the next goblin nearby knowing tht it's blood is only moments from being she'd as well.

Spoiler for maps inst working for me right now. Surprise round move to the closest knot of goblins. If in range for a partial charge will do.
On standard turn continue to move if not within range And attack once
If already in combat then two weapon fighting
Was able to pull it up under a different browser. Davorik will head to te right to attack those goblins. Ignore first attack as not in range and likewise can't full attack for first round. Only one attack then for AC: 18 doing 8 damage.

Davorik was enjoying the festival. The food was wonderful and the company better than he could have anticipated. Most people usually were bothered by his questions but these people seemed more accepting than others. Perhaps it was their wide travels that taught them how to interact with people. Davorik was glad to meet them and have the chance to talk to them. He knew that he was sheltered from the wide world around him and that he asked a lot of questions. It was who he was and he always was curious about things. Unfortunately his talk was cut short by the loud crack splitting the evening air. It was the signal for everyone to listen to Father Zantus as the stage apparently. Oh well at least it was something important that disrupted his talking and nothing more sinister. Or so Davorik thought. The harsh high pitched squeals that followed told him that something else was wrong. Spotting the goblins on the house, Davorik drops his plate of food and runs over to the goblins drawing his scimitar. He had to get to the goblins and protect the town before anyone got hurt.

Davorik sees the man come and introduce himself to the Halfling traveler. Not helping but to overhear the man, Davorik answers after Gilly. Yes what does your dog look like. Te are multiple dogs all over town and with the festival here there are more than normal. Once I am done eating here, I will have to make a round of the area making sure everything is ok. I will keep my eyes open if I see a stray I will try to catch it and bring it to you. Where can I find you should I find such a dog? Turning to the quiet man beside him, Say what exactly? That you talk to gods and they talk back to you. Or that she talks to gods and they talk to her? Or that he has been to Magnimar? I said all of that already, so it must be the first. Wow, two of you talk to gods. Who would have thought it? Suddenly he looks at Mungo, Hey do you talk to gods as well? If so that would be all of you. No wonder you are here for the festival. No I haven't seen any devils or angels or gods.. Sigh, Perhaps some day I will be lucky enough, but then again I don't know if I want that to happen here as it would mean trouble for Sandpoint.
Male Human Two weapon fighter 1
Born and raised just outside the town a bit Mungo. I heard you've been to Magnimar, huh. What's the bing city really like. I heard that you can walk for days and never find your way out of the same rare of town. That the walls are40 ft high around it protecting it from all manner of ferocious creatures. The woman there are so beautiful that if you look at one in the face you'll either drop dead, be turned to stone, or fall helplessly in love and be enslaved for the rest of your life? Is that really true? Davorik turns back and forth between the two of them still asking too many questions. And what call is that Gilly? I mean I know I am meant to be here to protect my friends and family so I train everyday. What is it your called to do? Bumping the man nearby Kaedric, Davorik leans over and whispers, Hey did you hear this, he's been to Magnimar and she has been called by Desna herself. I wonder what it would be like to talk and hear from a god. That ever happen to you buddy?
Male Human Two weapon fighter 1
I thought that's what I heard her say. Also that you have been around here before. What brings you back or is it just for the festival. I grew up just outside of town so have lived here my entire life. Where have you been to and is it as exciting as around here or ore impressive? Davorik continues to ramble on barely giving Gilly a chance to answer many of his questions. It is only when he gets back to the table that he stops pestering her with inquiries. Setting her down beside him Davorik turns quickly to Mungo, Thanks for the salmon. Here you go you can have a piece of mine. Davorik reaches and places a good sized piece of fish on his plate right on top of the venison. Again, he tries to be kind but something is always off. In between mouthfuls of food he glances at the silent man standing close by. Hey mister, you alright? Need anything? If it is salmon, Gilly here can get a plateful. She knows who to talk to and how to get things done quick I tell you. Kaedric, you there buddy?
Male Human Two weapon fighter 1
Davorik accepts the plate with a quick nod of his head. Thanks, its true that I do eat a lot and even more so when the food is good and free. Althoug if it wasn't so good I wouldnt have to wait in line to get it. Davorik picks up Gilly again this time bumping her with his shield as he tries not to spill his plate of food. Realizing his error, he switches hadns and holds his food in his shield hand and Gilly in his free open hand. Oops, sorry about that little one. What was that she said, your name is Gilly?

[b]Wel,l welcome home and glad to have you back in time for the festival. Just don't be causing any mischief and we will all get along then. Hey if your such good friends with Ms Ameiko, why don't you come with me and see if you can get a large plate of that salmon for me. [b] Davorik makes to help the Halfling lass up and carry her over to the food line. Surely she would appreciate the help avoiding the elbow and trays everyone is carrying. Then again, never heard of amply one actually meeting it to tell the tale so you could be the first. Me, I think I'll just stay here and enjoy the festival and the food. See, I'm with the town militia so I don't want folks sturring up trouble. As long as your monster hunting is outside the town's limits you can enjoy yourself. At this point Davorik feels like he spoke too much already. Doesn't want to sound like he is bragging at all about being with the town an all but wants to make sure there is no trouble brewing either. Turning to the other little one by them, Who are you and what brings you here? You look familiar but all you little folk look alike to me.

The sight of the food created a rumbling in Davorik's stomach. When the little Halfling offered some it was too much to resist. Reaching out, Davorik plucks a tempting morsel of the salmon and pops it in his mouth. Umm, that is good. I will have to get some more. Thanks for the taste. Little did Davorik realize that his morsel and taste almost cleared out the halflings plate of the salmon. Name's Davorik by the way. I see your well traveled by the looks of yah.

Davorik relished the opportunity to visit his family in the countryside. It was always nice to take a leave from the town militia and have a small vacation back home. Although he wanted to stay, he knew he had to get back in time to help out with the Swallowtail Festival. It was to be the biggest event ever at Sandpoint as far as he could remember. Hurrying along the way, Davorik enters in the early morning. Slowing his pace he walks along keeping his eyes open both taking in the sights and making sure everything is as it should be. He hears the mayor greeting people in their arrival and figures this would be the best place as well to see who is coming in to celebrate. Seeing three people congregate looking at the festivities, Davorik walks up and takes a quick look at them and their gear. How's it going? Everything alright for you folks? Those looking at him would notice a decently sized lad with a shield strapped to his arm. His sword is hanging at his side at ease. He tries to be polite to those that say hi, but is too naturally gruff and brusque to have most stop and talk for long.
With only 4 in the party, if I am selected, would I have a chance to possibly tweak the skills and favored class point. The feats and ability scores would stay the same just looking to make a more well rounded party skill wise if needed to. With only 3 Skill Points not much to change at this point but every little bit helps.
Davorik grew up in a small farming community three day's travel outside of Sandpoint. Life was simple yet enjoyable with his parents and 2 younger sisters. Davorik hunted occasionally on the plains and in the woods nearby, but never ventured too far from home. It wasn't that he was scared of the wide world, it was more that he never had cause to leave the area that he knew and was fond of. Yes there were some days where wanderlust would take a hold of him for a while, but his work always required him to go home soon. It was a good life and one that he enjoyed immensely. That all changed one afternoon when Davorik cam back from a quick foray into the woods for some deer. What he thought was a large bonfire from inside the woods was actually the home of the apothecary in the village. A raiding group of hill giants looted the village and set fire to the store when they did not find the alcohol and food they came for. The grisly fate of the proprietor left Davorik with a sick feeling inside his stomach. He wanted to be there to help and protect the lives of those he grew up with. At age 16 Davorik left with permission from his parents to go to Sandpoint and join the militia there in hopes of training himself to counter the raids of giants, goblins, and worse that the countryside had to offer. Four years passed with Davorik learning what he could of weapons armor and tactics so that he could be ready when the time came to defend those whom he cared for. As luck would have it, Davorik has not had to rush to defend his family or his village since he joined the militia. Davorik looks at this as a blessing rather than a waste of time and effort on his part. Only a fool would wish for calamity to befall so they could act the hero. It was better if a hero was never needed. However if an opportunity arose, Davorik would be ready. Two weapon sword and board fighter

Glad to hear from you Zimmer. If there is anything you need from me to flesh Davorik out let me know. Must say I am anxious to see who gets in as I have been wanting to play RotRL since friends of mine have been playing it in RL. To busy to sit down every other Saturday for a whole day to play Pathfinder. PBP works best IMHO. |
