I just played Test of Tar'Kuata at Origins, and I have a question about the Chronicle sheet.

SPOILS:
The scenario includes recovering a piece of the Sky Key, but doesn't have that listed on the Chronicle at all. I have the Legacy of the Stonelords boon that allows me to re-gain a spent Prestige Point after recovering a Sky Key component.

Sky Key Core: "Each time you earn a Sky Key Component boon...."

I figured RAW means that the specific boon named "Sky Key Component" needs to appear on the Chronicle, so Test of Tar'Kuata doesn't count, but some of the GMs mentioned that while they didn't know what was correct, there is a case for getting the Prestige Point.

Is there an official ruling on this?

I've been impressed with the quality of the Iconics line, and hope they continue it into other characters. I am definitely turned off by the variable quality and blind-buy aspect of the Pathfinder Battles stuff.

WTB Meliski.

I've purchased the NPC Codex Box and Inner Sea Pawn Box pawn collections for use with ACG (including future class decks, like the spoiled Druid).

I've been able to find all existing characters (through WotR and class decks), with the following exceptions:
Agna - Ranger - (apparently in the Beginner Box as a Fighter minus the boar)
Heggal - Cleric - http://pathfinderwiki.com/mediawiki/images/3/34/Heggal.jpg
Zarlova - Cleric - http://paizo.com/image/content/PathfinderACG/PZO6802-Zarlova.jpg
Ranzak - Pirate - Promo - http://pathfinderwiki.com/mediawiki/images/thumb/f/fb/Ranzak_token.jpg/250p x-Ranzak_token.jpg

Does anyone know if pawns for those are available anywhere? I am a terrible completionist.

Here's the compiled list of characters found in those two pawn boxes:

Siwar Bard NPC #032
Bekah Bard NPC #033

What about classes/characters with a companion? There are 2 Lini cards, 2 Harsk cards, etc.

My 4-person group got the ACG Open slot we wanted. Woot!

You will have that information prior to event registration, which is May 17, likely in the May 12 blog.

Great. Thanks!

Is there any more information available about this event at GenCon?

We are a couple weeks out from event registration, and my gaming crew needs to decide what events to register for (especially since a lot of the events sell out very quickly!). Any info would be appreciated.

Ribbit.

Awesome. Thanks!

I just opened my sealed ACG Deck #6 and it is missing the scenario card for the first scenario: Danse Magaav. Can one be shipped to me? Also, can I have the scenario text so that I can continue playing with the campaign with my group?

I would definitely spend money to get the OP scenarios and replacement cards (like Onwu Azu) on actual cards, if there was an option for print-on-demand like DriveThru cards.

Has reporting been completed?

I'm starting to run OP at my local store and am replaying scenarios with the character I started at GenCon. I don't see any sessions under my character at all (even the new ones I've added).

Wow, I was way off on my assumption on how to buy Magic items and how restrictive it was.

I was assuming that Fame restrictions apply to all items, and the only valid items to purchase were on Chronicle sheets or in the allowed lists (such as +1 weapons).

This helps.

I've decided to go full Druid and deal with a limited spells per day at this point. I picked up Believers Boon and a standard ability from it to help fill the gaps.

I appreciate the tips and info!

I assume a Pearl of Power can only be purchased if found on a Chronicle sheet?

Is the Runestone of Power in the Society Guide able to be purchased as long as I have enough Fame?

I don't have Inner Sea Gods yet and wasn't aware of that spell. That's a great tip!

I would like to aid the party with buff spells, weaken enemies with debuff spells, and support healing with an animal companion that can contribute via combat maneuvers. I have a snapping turtle companion that does very little in damage output now, but will grow to large size and gain Grab at level 7, which has strategic value). With Boon companion, I have 4 levels of wiggle room for the turtle to be unaffected by cross-classing.

I am already investing in Disable Device and Perception skills to help adventuring.

My Druid has an identity crisis in combat. I really like the character, but feel like I don't contribute much to the group right now, especially if heals aren't in high demand.

So, while technically possible, to get the most use out of it, it can create hassles for the table (which isn't my intent).

Also, as redward mentioned, it would split character progression in half.

Based on this, it probably doesn't make much sense to do.

My main issue with my Druid right now is that I don't have many filler things to do other than taking out my club and whacking things, which isn't really in line with my concept for the character. I'm looking for more useful things to do without simply specializing in combat, which is why I was looking at the Shaman to begin with, since it would allow me to do things like deliver spells via the familiar, use Evil Eye, and unlock an expanded spell table.

In a standard PFS session, I use most of my level 1 spells to Magic Fang my companion for each combat encounter, and use a Wand of Cure Light Wounds as needed. Since I selected the animal companion rather than a Domain, I have less spells to play with.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to diversify my character to support the party other than focusing on Wild Shape combat? I have no issues using Boon Companion and dipping elsewhere.

So a spirit animal, functioning as a familiar, could take actions during combat but does not qualify as a "combat animal"?

Thanks for the info!

The wording of the final sentence in the FAQ is confusing as written because it appears to use "familiar" in a completely different context than a class's familiar animal.

I am a level 2 Druid on my first PFS character deciding how to level into level 3. My character idea is a Divine support/healing spellcaster with a "tanky" animal companion. I am not planning on focusing on full offensive spellcasting or Wild Shape combat.

If I am a druid with an animal companion, and cross-class into a Shaman and get a spirit animal (using familiar rules), would using both be acceptable for play in Society games?

The FAQ states:

"How many animals can I have at any given time?
During the course of a scenario, you may have one combat animal and as many noncombat animals as you like. Noncombat animals (ponies, horses, pet dogs, and so on) cannot participate in combat at all. If you have so many noncombat animals that their presence is slowing a session down, the GM has the right to ask you to select one noncombat animal and leave the rest behind. A summoner's eidolon is considered an animal companion for the purposes of counting combat and noncombat animals. If you have more than one class-granted animal companion (or eidolon), you must choose which will be considered the combat animal at the start of the scenario. In general, a mount, a familiar or mundane pet, and your class-granted animal(s) are acceptable, but more than that can be disruptive."

I am confused because familiars *can* participate in combat, but the final sentence mentions familiars and multiple class-granted animals as being acceptable.

I am interested in dipping three levels into Shaman because it supports my character's RP focus and I can make use of a Hex, an expanded spell-list, and a familiar that can deliver touch spells (cures, buffs, or debuffs). I want to make sure that familiar usage is within the rules and won't be disruptive for GMs or other players.

If the familiar is not acceptable to play alongside my Druid animal companion, I will likely not bother with Shaman. Are there other options for cross-classing that would support my character as a Divine/Support spellcaster with an animal companion, or should I just go full druid?

If the familiar is valid to have on the table, which of the following would be acceptable to do with a bird spirit animal?
Deliver Touch Spells
Aid Another in combat
Aid Another with skills
Set Up Flanking Bonus
Scouting / Perception usefulness

It took 5 tries for my party of 6 using class decks to defeat the fifth scenario of the base set.

My main complaint about Runelords was that it was too easy, so I actually really like that. It forced us to pay greater attention, cooperate more, and dice rolls mattered more.

Sometimes randomness trumps tacics (dice, Henchmen locations, card draw, etc), but that makes it exciting.

Is it just me, or are the official boxes (although they look amazing - great art!) unwieldy and hard to open? The glossy bottom also makes very odd noises when it is opened . . .

What are people using?

Not being a CCG player, I haven't had use for a deck box before, so I just walked up to a random stand in the dealers' hall at GC and said "Do you have any deck boxes with dividers?

They ended up giving me an Ultra Pro Pro-Dual box that works pretty well. It's five bucks, and unfolds to reveal 2 separate deck compartments. Each compartment is big enough to hold all the cards in a class deck box, and there's 2 dividers to keep your play deck separate from the, uh, rest. (Do we have a name for that yet? Sideboard? Ugh.)

When I got back I also was tempted by the Ultra-Pro Tower, which has a little drawer for dice at the bottom, but judging by the photos either it's too big to lug around or too small to carry enough dice.

I have the Pro Tower. I can keep 5-6 full sets of dice in the bottom drawer, pens/pencils in the little door, and an entire class deck + sleeves in the top compartment. It's a little bulky, but can fit in a backpack / saddlebag.

Will the Ranzak playmat or the Adventure Mat be available at Gencon?

That's what I suspected. Thanks for the answer!

I'll just tell folks to track their decks separately if using the same class, or purchase multiple class decks.

I've been drumming up interest locally so that I'll have a sizable group when OP launches, but had a question:

My group of players are interested in running S&S decks as they come out as well as Society OP. Can they use the same class decks and current boons for both, or does the OP campaign limit you from progressing the deck outside of Organized Play, meaning they would have to track progress for each (even while using the same physical class deck) separately?

Will generics be accepted for these events if there are no-shows? I was only able to secure seats in a couple sessions, and I'm wondering how many people registered to get a class deck, but won't make it to all of the games.

I think I'm going to find a different Saturday night event. I didn't know how hardcore it was when I signed up. Maybe next year. Thanks for the info!

I see. I guess I'll see where I'm at in August. I was hoping to do the Season 6 kickoff which seemed more appropriately scaled to my level, but I apparently missed the boat on that one.

For the Ruins of Bonekeep event, will pregen characters be available? I recently started Pathfinder (at Origins), but won't have a level 5 PFS character by then.

This was a blast.

Being new to PFS, I ended up running Goblin Attack and The Confirmation. I was hoping to do Siege, but a Saturday tournament for another game ran long. Thanks to everyone for being awesome and newb-friendly!

Hi. I'll be at Origins with some friends who are new to Pathfinder (but not 3.5), and play the ACG.

Can you explain the specifics of the Beginner Box and Goblin Attack events?

Do new players need to bring anything (or purchase a Beginner Box) to participate? Our intent is to do some demos and intro scenarios on Friday and participate in some of the more structured lower level events Saturday.

Thanks for the info!

I did not know Organized Play was in the works, so that is exciting!

I have a circle of friends that really got into the ACG (after I impulse bought the base set!), and a few of us are going to Origins and Gencon. We just finished deck 4, and folks are really interested in their character decks and development. I've been to the cons before, but not participated in Paizo events (and the ACG is still new).

Does anyone know what kind of events/presence for the ACG to expect at Origins or Gencon? Do you think there will be official events in which our individual character decks will be relevant?

If there will be collaborative events, how do you feel about promo cards in character decks? I currently have 1 of each promo but am really tempted to buy 4 more Blessing of Zarongel from the secondary market for a full set of 5 for the box (and try to earn them).
