Ok saashaa we are playing on this sunday at 9:00, CT U.S. we were able to talk a old player of one of the groups we previously did to try this one out. so he will be joining I don't know what he will be playing as of yet. and do you want me to take down your Rolld20 email address if you want to check out the way I have our group setup? I think you will like how I track sidequests and quests using the handout file to track clues and possible leads. the PCs all have hidden ajenda's also that only they and I see that are tracked once they let me know what they are interested in.


I complelty agree, joining a good dnd group is like finding a shirt, it needs to fit just right. I expect us to meet this Thursday at 6:30, so far no one has said anything. And ill ping you on discord. ill update this thread if anything changes or if anyone else posts that they would like to see about joining or listening.


no number 5 wasn't a deal breaker just a bonus, one of the players Cal lives in Colorado now and he has always called in to play at our table.

I currently have a mechanic NPC that I introed that is a lot like Cable. would you like to respec him? or would you prefer to create your own. he was just introed two sessions ago, so he is a blank slate besides harboring also a hatred of drow.

Currnenly his name is Droen Greybeard, Mechanic with advanced weapon alternate spec, he is either a half drow, or a Andriod with half drow alternate trait (I really just wanted the nanite feats for him, and haven't made up my mind yet. the PCs have not found out which, and I wanted it to be a mystery.) he is a merc that has worked with Grommik several times in the past for ease of working him in.

we have also just found several DNA cyro -chambers that have all dead people in it. I can easily make one be alive for a hook if you are interested in just doing your own character.

If either of those work for you we are going to play this Thursday due to mothers day and im ok for anything.

This is also very informal and I don't know how to proceed so would you like to listen in to a game before making your decision. or maybe a trial run with you RPing Doren? I want everyone to be as comfortable as possible.

demographics:
we are all in our 35-45 range age. three are married, three have kids, 1 conservative, 3 liberal. all Pot smokers so might hear it on discord. 1 Christian 2 atheists 1 unsure, all straight male. Like most in the dnd community we don't discriminate or judge, and accept all who they are as long as they accept others as they are.


Hello, i am opening the thread to see if there would be interest on if anyone would like to join a online campaign. Due to the coronavirus my table group pretty much got disbanded and with one of them expecting a baby I don't know if we are ever going back to table gaming anytime soon. so I wanted to open this up to see if anyone would like to join our game we have started on discord and rolld20.

I am looking for 2 for now and that we might add more later.

We are at level 3 currently but by the time we will get recruitment done we will probably be 4th. so because the way its done the recruitment thread will be a little different. What I would like is the following to see if there is interest.

1. English primary language (due to us being on discord this will be necessary)

2. we are currently rotating between Sunday mornings (9 am-2 pm ish Central time U.S.), and Thursday evenings as a backup day if we cant get online Sunday . (6:30- 10:00 ish) every week. so you would need to be available.

3. currently there are three players I will give a brief background below and their role, race, and a couple of sentences to get a general idea of what is going on. this is a trial run on a AP before we are planning on recording and posting our online sessions much like the glasscannon podcast. (shoutout! great podcast if you have the time, they are truly masters of the their craft and living the dream.)

4. For the feel of the campaign it is closer to firefly and guardians of the galaxy. we are very Rule of cool, with a lot of re-skinning. we don't worry so much about descriptions as much as rules. to give a example a NPC has a mechanical arm that changes into tools to be used. (its the same as him pulling out a tool, and using it (move action to change, then standard to use and his hand cant be used for anything else, etc, but the flavor is so much better. he paid for the items his arm changes into.)

5. It would also be super awesome if anyone that is interested is in the fort worth/dallas area where if we do ever go back to table or get a chance to meet face to face would be a bonus.

Now onto the fun part; the campaign. We started with the first book of Attack of the Swarm only deciding after deliberation that the attack of the swarm was to railroady and didn't cover what we wanted in a Fictional Starfinder path (it was more of a Bug hunt campaign for those that liked starship troopers i would recommend it), so we did what was only natural we deserted our post at the first opportunity, lol. To travel the stars and explore and find new dangers and systems. I am roughly re-skinning Skulls and shackles campaign path because i thought that Space privateers in the dispora asteroid belt would be much more interesting so you might see and hear some names and places that might be a little familiar like squibbing a stolen starship and asteroids named after Islands in the book. Currently we are on absolom Station looking for our own starship. one was promised to us by the dockworkers guild if would would do a little favor for them and they would "lose" a Ship. One of the dockworkers went missing in a hanger that was run by a company called Galactic Driftdisk Incorporated. because he wasn't allowed in there the dockworkers guild needed mercs to go get him out (enter the PC's). the PCs found out that the dockworkers guild have been stealing supplies to make ends meet and take care of their own in a very middle finger to the rich corporations kinda way. along the way the party also was hired on to find a rich CEO daughter that was kidnapped. only to find out later that the CEO owns Driftdisc Inc and that the daughter ran away from home. When the PC's went to a Space junkie Rap bar to find her a heavy armed and armored group comes in a mass murders almost everyone in the Club. when the PC's try to report it they find out that the mercs that came into the bar had holo-tech that made them look like Shirrins. helping the woman escape and when interrogating the woman for why she ran away the PC's found out that the woman has a special power that allows her to enter the "drift" at will in any starship even though she has very basic control over it and it is imperfect. Not wanting to turn over the Daughter yet the PCs hid her in a storage area while trying to complete the dockworkers contract. when they get to the hanger the Pc's find out that large quantities of radiation has flooded the hanger and that hiding in the hanger is a very high tech DNA splicing center and that the CEO has teamed up with the Drow race to create super human Drow with weird powers. and that is where we last stopped at as of this post. It is currently speculated that Zillia (the daughter) might have had her genes spliced to give her powers and that the PC's might also try to splice their DNA too.

the following players are-

Thamor aka "Statikiller99" a lashunta envoy and science officers Thamor has the Iconic Theme on his character. Thamor originally volunteered for Duty on the planet of suskillion to fight the swarm. Well known from his streams he is a expert video game player of a team sport known as Galaxy Quest. (yes we like sci fi references in the campaign) he originally lead the party against the swarm only to find out that video games are not like real life and people get hurt by his decisions. when talking to his friend Cal who didn't volunteer for the swarm war he decided to help him out by taking his ship that they escaped the planet from the swarm with to absolm station. when he got there he let Cal leave the ship knowing that he wouldn't return. then when asked to check out something off ship. a Shapechanger took his identity and left the station with the Swarm ship. Currently Thamor just found out that the Fake Thamor is streaming on his feed more about the war and has branded him as a fake and for his followers and fans to harass him everywhere he goes.

Cal Buckson- a human witchwarper and now commander/captain of the party Cal didn't volunteer to fight the swarm he was press serviced when his escape pod landed on the planet. Cal is a little Emo in his look and feel he goes deep into thought and wants to plan everything. Currently cal is looking for a way off absolm station and to try looking for his lost family. however most recently with the discovery of Zillia Cal has found a bond with her, and while exploring the hanger something weird has happened. he received a message from himself from the future with a meetup place far outside the known universe.

Grommink- a Orc soldier and pilot of the group not much is known about grommink because he is a new character (when we decided our best option OOC was to desert rather than continue down a path no one liked, he decided to restart a character). the old character, a Vesk, wanted to fight the swarm too much and never would have deserted. Grommick family owns a engineering company but as one of the youngest does not stand to inherit or giving any help. his family escaped from the Drow when he was young. he was from a world that the Drow invaded and has a deep hatred for the race for which he was a slave for.

Ive been struggling the last couple of days , and decided im going to wrap up this thread I am sorry but I thought I would give everyone the respect to say it outright (instead of ghosting), my friend asked me to come on board to do a weekly podcast to play dnd to make extra money as a side gig within the next couple of months we will be doing the 2e pathfinder. Where I've been playing since I was young, it didn't occur to me that I might try to make some money on the side with it. So I decided to see where this leads. I'm sorry and good luck playing, its been a pleasure.

The Skeletons during the attack pantomine movements as if there are leader giving the attack, there must be a little intellegence in teh creatures unlike those found on typical undead. However once heris is down you see that two of the skeletons, then fight over herics body, starting to loot the corpes on for one to pick up a item for the other to knock it out of his hands. even though Roland again scores a vicous hit the skeletons bones seem to stay together. both Arys and nali are having the fight of thier lives luckly Arys punches seem to be having a great effect on the skeletons. One of the leader skeletons manage to hit Thraxis with his club in the face, blood from hit litter the sand. The other manages to just barley hit Roland with a cunning parry followed by a riposte with its blade (RP description only).

Sorry about the hold up I moved 3 days ago and am still getting things together, apparently my wife doesn’t think dnd is a priority. Roland attacks the one on the left of henric, the skeletons ribs make it difficult for Rolands weapons to do much damage. The creature continue to press the attack. two of them still flanking Heric and two attack Roland with claws, due to the closeness of the fight the creatures use their claws to rip at your clothes and fleash.

The green eyes watch you as several of the skeletons approach the group, one to the left of roland darts forward and tries to rake Roland across the stomach. While another moves into flanking position on the cleric, henric. the one that appears to be the leader rushes forward and attacks with what is a fine scimatar, and even though it is weathered a little you can see that it still is in exellent shape.

you see the remainder of the skeletons attack both Nali and Arys, they instinctually go back to back as the creatures charge in, you momentary lose sight of arys before you can see her hand follow right through a skull of a skeleton , shattering through the back of the skull.
don't worry about the ones on nali and arys it is happening in the background. looks like they all missed, heroes turn.

As the party heads towards the ship, a cool breeze shifts in the air before you see several skeletal shapes come out of the water and the beach, their eyes all have the menacing green color that has been accompanying most of the undead you have seen. rusted rapiers and longswords are the most common weapons. however you see two of the skeletons weilds a flail and cutlass with a almost human fluidity rather than the short bits of movement from the other skeletons.

the beach is considered rough terrian. those that pass a perception chk DC 15 can take a suprise action (move or standard). the heroes then go first also because of thier skeletons forming and raising from the earth. when everyones taken a turn ill post all thier turns back and forth. ask any questions if you want. See Last slide.

@thraxis- Luckly Arys thought ahead to capture some water throughout the night, you figure you have at least three more days of travel before you need to head back due to food and water needs.

After a miserable night of rain, the party heads toward the boat that was in the distance, chopping through trees and vines is very time consuming as it takes a better part of the morning to get to the ship. when you exit the jungle you can see the ship is in far worse shape than it looked in the distance. the ship is upside down and on its side the faded letters of the "golden Bow" is carved into the side. the ship appears to have been in this state for a long time barnacles from the waves are on the boat as when the sea rises most of the ship must be submerged, however to call it a ship is a overstatement because the wood is rotted and in some cases simply pulled away from the ship simply by the currents.

yelling among the storm, Arys states " I thought you would bloody say that." Squeezing as tight as she can towards the tree she huddles in her soaking wet blanket as best she can. You see tatters of your base camp blowing away. several time members of the group need to protect the foodstuffs and equipment.

Throughout the night the wind and rain never lets up, not until morning does it finally pass. Lighting, wind and rain pound you all night. With several flashes from lighting hitting the island. The night is miserable and several times you flinch from the closeness of the strikes, no one gets any true sleep.

Fatigued
A fatigued character can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.

Ayrs complains bitterly about the heat, and the fact that the rest of there party doesn't have to do this kind of thing, as she helps gather wood for the fire, eventually the party finishes all the camp setup work for the night. however only a few hours after the sky goes dark a cool wind begins to blow and before long a sever storm hits the campsite. the winds are strong enough to tear down the makeshift shelter.

teeth chattering from the wind and rain Arys yells out, "This is a fine Flaming mess!" tucked against a tree the winds and torrent drowns out her shout to any not in her immediate area.

The party has two choices to continue at night during the rainstorm (encounters at night possibility), or hunker down for the night, (fort save or effect.) you can yell and Rp out this storm. whether or not the party wants to continue.

without any complaints about continuing east you eventually leave the hilltop that the cliffs were on and head back down. From the summit on the Hill you spot another wreckage in the distance that has crashed on the beach, however you would be unable to make the distance today while there is daylight. It is getting close to nighttime. you can either push onward to the ship or you can choose to stay put. If everyone seems Meh, so far Roland has taken the lead to make calls so unless anyone has any objections I will typically let him make the call because he is seeming to be the leader.

Knowledge nature DC 20, don't look if you don't have it.:

There are some thunderstorms moving into the Area, even though it might be unsafe to travel at night the storm looks bad, filled with heavy rain and winds.

Arys stands behind Tharxis on trail when you stop, "damn you Druid, Why must every limb that Flaming gets in your way seem to hit me?' She glares at you.

@everyone- just wanna make sure yall know you are up on the cliff the cliff is roughly a 200ft drop from where you are at, you will either need to climb down, backtrack, or jump? if you want to get to the ship right now, and the dinoes are about half way down on the cliff. there are handholds but looks dangerous, (DC 15 climb check.)

@henris- the wreaked ship appears to be a ship smaller than the Jeniver, only half of it is above water. knowledge check- (You know that the creature has a vicious bite with poison, and a flyby attack with scent. a special plus is they are encountered typically in areas with OTHER dinosaurs. so this island probably has more dino's.)

@nali- yes you pass the knowledge check you can look at (giant winged Chupacabra) to get the base info, however this is a special one so there is a little difference but you cant make knowledge checks on specific creatures. needless to say they are dangerous.

and you can easily rejoin the party in a jungle setting you simply get "lost for a time" lol. "I'm baaackkk!" (please think of the south park, kyle's cousin in glasses.) there might be even hope for almonds character eventually finding his way back to the group.

@thraxis- unfortunately you don't recognize the creature, but i think your character would think they are pretty in a survival sort of way.

@roland and everyone- at Rolands comment you hear a "Damn right!" behind you Arys has taken off her hat and letting the cool air blow through her hair to dry it off. In addition she is also leaning up against a tree her pack slugged off and pulling out a waterskin.

@thraxis- you can say that you found leather, because during the day its conceivable for you to pull out the rivets or metal parts. with a little time and lucky on a deserted island there is plenty of time.

Setting out East the party follows the best path by staying as close as they can towards the beach. The echo's of the wild animals of the jungle creates a cacophony (I hope I used the word right) of sound. if you were to pretend the situation was changed you would be in a idealistic setting for a nice vacation on a remote island. Knowing to stop before the midday heat you manage to see in the distance the beach slowly goes away to a steady cliff face slowly getting taller. not knowing when the cliff would end the party decides to go into the jungle still staying close to the edge of the cliff where they can see the ocean as a guide. (I went with the most logical choice, after reading that guide I'm going to try to not allow so many, Blah, blah, choices and try to only do the most important. I am going to try it for awhile and tell me if it helps the flow better. if not ill switch back to you making more choices.) toward evening time after a hard days march from up on the cliff the party sees two things, out in the ocean there is a large rock with the remains of another ship that has crashed (area D2 on map). the second thing that the group notices is a small group of dimorphodons have crated a nest high on the cliff face. (C1 on map) Arys who is having a hard time of all the travel goes back to her complaining ways. Looking down at the animals, "No flaming way that will be me. " and she backs up. (smiley face where the party is.) Currently the weather is cool and pleasant on top of the cliff, and the rain has temporarily let up at the moment.

A brightly colored creature swoops down to land on the branch above. Its head is overly large, with a mouth full of sharp teeth and bright, shiny eyes. The thing chirps, lashes its long thin tail, and then with a flap of leathery wings is in the air once again.

A light drizzle hits the camp around nighttime, and even though the rain is cold it temporarily relieves the relentless mosquitoes from the camp. Snoring from gelik and a constant background noise of the jungle makes for a very uncomfortable night. the next morning very early the party wakes up and starts getting ready for the journey. Roland gets up and asks Arys to accompany the group despite Arys complaints she finally relents and will leave the camp with the party when the time is ready. Gathering several containers of food and large containers the companions don't know how long they will be out. Ishiou says that he will lead a group out after 10 days if they don't hear anything. Ishirou and Jask see all of you off, jask says a prayer over the group. and Ishrou asks, " Can you think of anything else before you leave?"

@everyone- Gelik pipes up and says, "I was talking to Jask, it seems he knows some of the basic layout of the island. You might could ask him in the morning before you leave."

Arys also adds "Some of us wont be much good in the Blasting jungle, Out of all of us I would recommend Ishrou he seems to have been in the jungles before unlike Me and Gelik, I wouldn't take Jask either he doesn't seem much of a fighter. Possibly Sahsa, But she Flaming annoys me So I cant imagine what that would be like listening to that Tart all day." Arys is Much more pleasant with a drink in her.

you can take one NPC to help with you (the first time ill say Ishirou will go where we can just start out tomorrow), it will be your choice out of all of them though from now on. you can trade them out any time your in base camp. So Mix it up unless you hate certain people. I will also Hand wave the base camp rules now to speed up the game, and because its just you three to help more.

@heric- You cant say for sure you might have to spend several days away from base camp to truly search the island only half a day to leave and come back and not walk in the middle of the day wouldn't be very far. (ill let you know when you have to head back to "resupply" We will say you load yourself up.)

@everyone- Wishing all of the others goodnight Jask and the other survivors start going to sleep. Irhirou switches places with one of the others and finally gets some much needed sleep, the flies getting close to night swarm on the party like some vicious beast. Around the campfire some of the others gather to discuss witch direction to go tomorrow. The fire cast lurid shadows about. Grelik and Arys are by the fire, when Arys peaks up, "well tomorrows a flaming new day, what direction should we start to explore?" (see map on google slides; west, east or south.)

" nali can see that she is excited about the prospect of hard battle, alomost like a death wish.

@henric and Roland- Arys laughs "well you cant get any flaming more in the "untouched" burning jungle than this, priest." she tips her cup towards him to show that there was no sting in the words. Arys accautlly seems better company with a drink in her hands, and plesant. You can see however, her eyes keep darting towards the cask.

@roland & henric- Arys frowns at the mug, " Its none of your flaming business thank you very much on my drinking habits." rolling her eyes she follows Roland as he takes the cask to Henric , " My brains aren't made of ballast either, but perhaps this is good time to make some changes." she says as she walks. After a moment when they get to Henric she continues. "I plan on having my own ship one day. I grew up in Korvosa, eventually leaving to see beautiful sunsets on the sea. @Nali- Sasha replies with a wink, "Didn't you know? all dangerous animals are females.", she says with a smirk. " But ya I do know what it is, its just bigger than i thought." she mutters. She seems to follow Nali's direction as she gathers up some items for another trap. "I'm afraid without better equipment we cant make too much better traps, and I think she would see through the ambush."

@thraxis- Jask comes up to you,"I'd like to help with the wall, however even though I cant find my holy symbol I should be able to help more as a healer here at the camp. My combat experience is not where it should be."

@nali- You catch up with Sasha as she gets into the jungle. peering around you see that she heads south. "Watch your step." she says as she points towards a severed head of a wild goat, no other pieces of the animal are around. "She is leaving us presents. Don't know if she is trying to scare us or not. I put down two traps over here the other night." she pulls back some vegetation on the trail. "Damn, she spotted them.", as Sahsa starts inspecting the remnants of her traps.

@roland- Arys leads you to a barrel. and strong arms the top of the barrel off with a large stick. Grapping a handful of ale she drinks some down, "Aggghhhh, Damn that's good." she says as she licks her lips. Almost immediately you see she seems better. " So Roland whats your flaming story?"

@roland- Arys takes the knife, "thank you. I think we need a drink, Roland." with that she claps you on the back and leads you to the ale barrel.

@everyone when the creature takes off Sasha yells "Drat." and stomps her feet on the ground walking by people you can hear her mumbling about, "better traps, next time. I should have set better traps....." As she heads a little into the jungle.

sorry about the late post, It takes so much more to be a DM than a player.

@roland- looking around at Sasha warning you see nothing in the jungle, birds are chirping and the background noise of the jungle seems to be normal. something moves in the bushes and vanishes before you can get a look at it. only seeing a large animal the size of a small horse.

@almond- you see the same as Roland, which must speak to the creatures intelligence to leave when it was starting to be mentioned.

@nali- you manage to get a glimpse of a bipedal, lizard-like creature with grey skin and medium bat-like wings. You immediately cant identify it but with the sharp teeth and stalking habit out of the creature you can instinctively tell its a predator.

@henris- you see same as roland

@Thraxis- "she had a odd air about her, the way she moved was not right, and just didn't "feel" right. in my country children are taught to trust their instincts on these things. We have what are called "Oni" that take the shape of other creatures to tempt them."

@Thraxis- Ishirou "No there was no trouble, there was a small argument on what to do if you didn't come back or If you didn't find anything, but It blew over."

@Roland- With a mighty Strike you hit the manacles with a Clang, unfortunately your first hit does nothing. Jask looks saddened by the hit no working after Thraxis casts the spell.

the others castaways reaction when you get back-

Aerys mavato- Arys heads strait to the Ale barrel, and helps everyone move everything to camp.
"Thank the Gods, you found this." she says as she is helping to move it, " Now, maybe this hellhole wont be as bad as I thought. "

Gelik aberwhinge- "My Art set!, Carful you twit with that!" the gnome browbeats anyone he sees touching his art set. you also see he doesn't offer to help move stuff, telling anyone who asks, I'm small you know. I'll only be in the way."

Ishirou - He helps bring everything to the camp he says nothing came into camp, and congratulates the group on finding the supplies. "We might make it through this after all."

Jask- "Any of you find a key?" when everyone answers no he falls down dejected.

Sasha- Is watching everyone bring the supplies up, "You found some more weapons good we might need it, We were being watched during the day. Even though Ish didn't see it, I think it is curious about us. I hope it is dangerous." she says all this with a smile and a nervous excitement.
