Darius contemplates being under the clear sky of Pharoe with the Wisdom stone, and how much better it is than being under a thousand tonnes of stone.

Darius nods in appreciation towards the three copies of Kia in his vision.

He tries meditation in an effort to soothe his headache.

"Ommmmmm."

Clutching his head, Darius staggers towards the exit.

1d20+19=39 v Darius. (What is it with Darius? He's some kind of crit magnet.)

That's the sixth one already I think.

"Boom! Headshot," exclaims the warden, as Tutavak delivers the fatal shot. However Darius' exuberance is short-lived, as a rather large chunk of ceiling soon falls on his head.

Bloodied 25 of 128 HP.

Oops, I did not.

"Here, let me get that door for you. It's the least I can do for previously trying to murder you." The warden says as he rushes past his new ally (and runs) to G13.

He sends his thorns out once again to pull Mr Balor from the archway.

His eyes burning with ambition, the warden looks directly at the giant saying, "You've felt the power of wisdom, now imagine what we can accomplish with fury and creation as well!"

"No, you imbecile. It is not just a stone," hisses the warlock as he attempts to wrap his arms around the six foot rock.

"I know the stone means a lot more to you than it does to the fomorians, much more it would seem," admits a bemused warden.

"There'll be plenty of time to hug the Affection Stone after we're hauled it out of the collapsing mine."

I'm baffled by how the shift 5 granted by Kia interacts with the prone condition. Would he be able to shift half his speed while prone or not at all? Either way I doubt he'd suffer the ignominy of crawling away, so I guess he'll stay put.

Darius struggles to fight the power, summoning the softest, velvetiest vines against Kia.

Her gaze seems convincing. Arianwyn nods and his arctic blue eyes turn on his companions.

"You will pay attention, imbeciles."

Having seen his fair share of hypnosis reduce both fey and natural humanoid alike to the status of poultry, Darius snaps his fingers at Arianwyn.

"When I snap my fingers, you are no longer a chicken." Unfortunately, I don't have a saving throw granting mechanic to back up those words.

Could someone please bring me up to speed on which runestones are in whose hands? In front of us is the Stone of Wisdom, right?

So which stone that was recently liberated, just before I joined the crew? And which is the one still in its original place?

Seeking confirmation from the elven speakers of the party, the warden asks,

"Judging by the absence of hostile activity, would I be right to say that they're inviting us to join their forum?"

I'm holding one already, so I'll take the other two, uh… too.

Darius fastidiously examines one of the flasks of sleep powder for information on dosage and contraindications, as a Chelaxian is wont to do.

"Northwards! Lead on Tutavak, son of Ogrol!"

"The cyclopes were eager to gather captives. Is this their modus operandi, or do they need able bodies for some nefarious operation or ritual, further in the mines?"

Using one surge. 100 of 128 HP; 10 of 14 surges.

Quirking an eyebrow, the warlock turns back to Darius.

"Forgive the interruption to our most interesting dicussion. You were saying?"

"I believe we were discussing the merits of the Sixfold Trial, or the Chelish Play as one is prudent to call it, especially while inside a theatre," recalls the warden.

Move to R14. Charge to R11.

"Slaving degrades people. Did you know that?" She informs the slaver as she clouts him.

"But we are all slaves in one way or another. Why is my job so much worse than yours?"

Darius interrupts the proceedings, adding some courtroom drama.

"Objection! In the case of Avoral versus Duke Lapist it was established that "Men are born to walk. Birds are born to fly. Neither is born to kneel."

Moving to S20, Darius brings the Eternal Rose's bounty to Chary and something much less pleasant to the remaining slaver.

On Hit: S2 is pushed one square and Darius shifts one square towards S2. And in doing so, Chary may shift one square as a free action.

Darius once again calls upon the power of plants to stop C2 from getting away.

The warden has an epiphany, in that he probably fights better when he devotes all his attention solely to it, instead of to talking as well.

Commander's Stike Darius can clout S1 using a standard melee attack with a +5 bonus to damage

"Indeed," says the warden, as he goes for the Achilles tendon.

Darius summons a whirlwind of rose thorns that swirl around the vicinity of the warden.

Minor Action: Boiling Cloud

Close burst 1

Effect: The burst creates a zone of blood and grit that lasts until the end of the encounter. The zone moves with you, remaining centered on your space. You and your allies in the zone have concealment. Marked enemies that start their turns within the zone takes 5 damage.

He launches a topiary-based attack in a south-westerly direction, hosing the area with thorns.

1d20+19=39 ... bloody hell. I cannot believe I've rolled three crits against the same character in one encounter. Ahem. Right.
44 damage to Darius.

As he is unceremoniously clubbed in the coin purse once more, Darius soldiers on stoically with the famous Chelish stiff upper lip, "Ooof… I'd say with that the Elliendo line ends with me, were I not already banished from my homeland."

–EDIT– ^ I changed the title of the play to refer to the work in the module rather than the module itself.

Despite being surround on all sides by giants, the warden takes it in stride with typical Chelish hauteur.

"It is a pity we could not meet under more, cordial circumstances, for the people of my homeland are quite into slavery!" He rejoices at the thought of cyclopes running amok amongst his devil-haunted peers.

Use Warden's Fury to mark S1, S2, C2, and C3.

Hemmed in, he decides to talk it off, rather than walk it off. Second Wind using Cloak of the Walking Wounded and Belt of Blood to spend two healing surges. Regaining 2 surges + 10 HP.

Arianwyn meanwhile stirs in his slumber and opens his eyes.

He looks unimpressed with events so far.

"You're up. Now where were we? Ah yes, tales from my homeland. The latest play that's been doing the rounds along the theatrical circuit is the incendiary Pride and Extreme Prejudice. Nests of maiden aunts from Corentyn to Oppara are abuzz about it, so I just had to catch a performance at my favourite playhouse in Talantier before departing for yon shores."

Darius is taken aback by the eloquence of the Rambler and its cohorts.

"It's just as well the cyclopses back home lack your eruditeness, else their mythical empire in Iobaria would still be standing," declares the warden as he continues his lecture for the benefit of Arianwyn.

Darius tries to conjure thorns to hinder his foes, but the Eternal Rose admonishes the warden for his arrogance.

Darius rolls with the punch, using Wrathful Warrior to gain 5 temp HP.

"A masterful hit, sirrah. If a tad below the belt."

Suddenly the warden is cocooned in a sarcophagus of chains and dragged into the earth itself. He erupts from the ground the same way nearby in a cacophony of screaming iron. Move Action: Earthstride to R21

Chains reach out from the warden's flail to grab Crusher 1, while more chains erupt from beneath the Rambler to drag it to the ground.

Mountain's Stature
@ C1 d20(6) + 17 = 23 vs AC; d10(6) + 10 + 4 = 20 damage and C1 is pulled 2 squares and grants CA to Darius until EONT (Deadly Draw).
@ R d20(16) + 17 = 33 vs AC; d10(6) + 10 = 16 damage and R is knocked prone.

Use Nature's Wrath to mark C2 (as well as C1 if it's adjacent) until EONT.

"How do you feel about returning to where you almost met your demise?" He asks, perhaps too loudly.

"Here ya go."

Darius turns over the box, seeming somewhat content to be rid of it.

"You mentioned 'your world'. I believe we have time for this tale before we leave. Minstrelsy has much to answer for."

"I hail from the distant world of Golarion, specifically the region known as the Inner Sea. My homeland, the Empire of Cheliax is the latest inheritor of both the traditions of Azlant—the empire of the first humans, and the church of Aroden—the god of humanity."

"The great city of Absalom was founded by Aroden himself when he raised the Starstone from the depths of the ocean, heralding the Age of Enthronement. To this day, people are drawn to the City at the Centre of the World, for legend has it, those that pass the arduous Test of the Starstone earn a place amongst the ranks of the divine."

"Your former companion, Seraphiel, entrusted me with this relic prior to seeking the prize of divinity." Darius holds up the ornate box again. "I have not heard from him since, though I believe that this box is key to his plan to achieve divinity here."

Just giving Darius a chance to speak if he wants to, then moving you on.

Guess I'd better get to work.

Darius respects the rules of the house and speaks quietly, "You must be Baldrech. I have spoken to your friend, Hroaldr. He sends his regards."

"As for myself, I am Darius Elliendo, fellow devotee of the old faith and warden of the balance of nature." And on that note, spectral rose thorns sprout from his flail to bring a distant sheet of skin closer. Thorn Strike

Darius turns towards the mouth of the cave, and with a dignified wave, evokes the power of the Eternal Rose. A copse of dense, sound-dampening plants of a species endemic to Pharoe, burst to life in a 15ft² area around the entrance of the shelter. Nature's Abundance, which lasts till the end of an encounter.
