![]() Trace watched the group filed out...something tugged at his memory. 'Tolin Kientai'...The Arena Champion. Leader of The Jade Ravens...An Adventuring Company. He pauses thinking about what he heard of them and then shakes his head. He feels out of his league here and fidgets. Then The Lady walks in and he cant help but smile. she was so pretty. and here he was preparing to get his first assignment as an adventurer. As Lady Vanderboren begins, and mentions her parents as adventurers a memory pops up...he had heard that...now what were they known for again? and then he also remembers what he heard of their deaths. He hears mention of 'The Blue Nixie' and he tries to remember what he heard about the vessel, what kind it was, who was the Captain, what kind of reputation it had, where it was docked...ehh, must not have been one that frequented his area of operation. 'Sellar Vark', he thinks hes heard of him.... He thinks, yes, this is right up his alley. Know he knew why he was asked to join. without thinking he said Of course milady. Ill do it he looks around. then says simply where is it docked? local knowledge 'What does Trace know of The Jade Ravens': 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 local knowledge, what does Trace know about her parents as adventurers. what were they known for?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 local knowledge 'what had Trace heard about her parents deaths': 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 local knowledge 'what does Trace know about The Blue Nixie': 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 local knowledge 'what does Trace know of Sellar Vark': 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 ![]()

Wide-Eyed Trace said D.. D.. Did you say Python? Ive never seen a Python. How do you have a Python? How do you manage...what about...what do you feed her...Thousands of questions race through Traces Mind as Trace watches Oridak lay out the stones mat and started to explain the game. A couple hours later and Trace was getting better, but Oridak was still so much better at the game, as Trace improved, the Half-Orc would show more of his mastery. Trace laughed at how easily and thoroughly he was beaten time and again. During the games, they had both discovered they were waiting for the same meeting. so when the time came, they headed there together. Trace had headed over across the bridge from Red Skink Lane to Blue Skink Lane...as he did, he strained to catch a glimpse of the Python...but alas he didnt want to stare...yet. He glanced back at Oridak, and continued. As he entered he nodded at Kora and then went inside. When they all were there, he stood up. he was average height, average weight, totally unnoticeable, except the two bandoliers of daggers criss crossing his chest and the pair on either hip. Leathers and a long hooded cloak enveloped him. He said Names Daniel. Daniel Tracelon. Im a dockworker, like my Da. I fix things. You can call me Trace. ![]()

![]() Trace had left quite early for the meeting, meandering through Cudgel and crossing one of the arched bridges of Sasserine, that allowed ships to go under, stopped and looked down as a trade vessel moved in. It looked to be carrying a large cargo. He shook his head, none of that now. He had a mission. He moved through the merchant district, doubling and retracing steps to insure he wasnt followed. Finally he had come to Red Skink Way and looked across the canal to the Vanderboren Estate. Nice large walls with guards. , From there he headed down to the 15 Horses and a Mule Tavern and waited watching who somes and goes, out the window watching the Estate. ![]()

![]() Today was a tough day working the docks of Shadowshore. A ship had come in carrying some loot they wanted to get by customs. The pay was better than a normal merchant ship, which is why Trace preferred to work in Shadowshore. Good pay to keep your trap shut. But always hard work. It had to be unloaded quick and efficient. He felt the purse in his pouch. He never hung it on his belt or put it in a pocket, but kept it within a belt pouch that was harder to get off or into. Lessons he learned from his da before his life was cut short settling a gambling debt. The lure of easy money was his Da's bane and ended him. But today, weary as he was, was a good day. He had silvers to give to Ma for food for the next week for his brothers and sisters. Living In Cudgel was for the poor but it was better than living in the dark alleys of Shadowshore. As he approached The Silverlode, a Tavern near home, and where he occasionally spent some time, playing darts and having a drink, he saw the halfling woman with ther letter before she saw him. His heart quickened for a second. hed seen the woman at the Inn that night hed met the 'Noble' when hed answered the bills post. Then she turned to him and walked up handing him the letter ...he read it. "Greetings! I trust this missive finds you in good health. My Name is Lavinia Vanderboren and i humbly request your attendance at my estate on festival street and blue skink lane tomorrow evening. I think i can present you with an opportunity uniquely suited to your skills. Please inform the carrier of this letter of the response to this invitation, and i hope to be speaking to you soon." Hed met no Lavina Vanderboren....but hed certainly heard of her and her family. Now they were Nobility!. smart he thought. shed used an intermediary to recruit. He put the letter back into the envelope and looked at the Halfling Woman...Kora was her name...he remembered. Thanks to You Kora. Tell your mistress Trace...no...rather Daniel Tracelon will be there. he didnt know where Festival and Blue Skink was, but hed find out. knowledge local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 ![]()
![]() Here;s my pitch to the Noble. Trace telling the noble why he should be hired: Trace walkled into tavern where the meet was set up. He was dressed as he usually was, Loose fitting clothing so if he fell in the water hed be able to swim. It happened enough in the docks. He saw the contact sitting in at booth with a few guards nearby. He walked up and stood saying Hiya kind sir. Names Daniel Tracelon...'Trace.' Yur guy said ta meet ya here. Nice place. Never been uptown. Can I sit? When the gentleman nodded Trace sat opposit him. His hands he put on the table, as was custom, down in the docks when talking business. So your hands could be seen with no weapons. Im a dockworker, like my Da before me, and his Da before him. Ize have a knack of taking care of things, ifn ya catch my drift. Im a handy guy, and never have anys complained about myze work. I knows my ways around can get in and out quicklike and leave no Trace, ifn ya knows what I mean. Im handy in a tough spot too. Knows myze ways around a tussle. Im not one of youze merc types, no ways. Im more stealth like. Good ta watch yur back. I needs the money. Since my Da was put ta feedin da fishes, Im da support of my brudders and sisterz. Ma is a seamstress, but her eyes are gettin weak and shes not so good with a steady stitch. Nay it falls ta me to take care of dem. Soze Im askin ya to hire me. Ya wont regret it none. ![]()

average height and thin, Trace is otherwise unremarkable. he has shoulder length long hair and intelligent green eyes. A ready smile for whoever sees him. He would be lost in a crowd though. Hes the kind of person , who 5 minutes after meeting him you say "who was that". personality:
Trace is a simple man and never considered himself a lawbreaker. To him, it's all about surviving and protecting his family. He is rough and tumble, a young man growing up ina bad area with little help. His families well being forced on him!. A quick wit, and a ready blade should things go awry. hes always hung out with the 'wrong' crowd, and likes to remain in the shadows. Three things make him diferent to the common thief or thug. He wont take from the needy, he has an unswerving loyalty to family and friends, and his deep seated need to protect those who cant protect themselves. Since The Demionic Invasion, survival has been paramount. Now finding his family and striking back is taking the forefront how hed fit in the party.: Recon. a Two Weapon Dagger fighter with an ability to hold his own.
