Snorter wrote: Okay; going with the roc stats, as the chassis for a re-skinned hippogriff/griffon companion, I come up with the following tools;
Level 7 Companion stats from universal table: 6HD, +4 BAB, Saves +5/+5/+2, 6 skills, 3 feats, +4 AC, +2 Str/Dex, +3 tricks, link, share spells, evasion, +1 ability, devotion.
Bestiary Companion Starting Statistics: Size Medium; AC +5 natural armor; Speed 20 ft., fly 80 ft.; Attack 2 talons (1d4), bite (1d6); Ability Scores Str 12, Dex 19, Con 9, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 11; Special Qualities low-light vision.
7th-Level Advancement: Size Large; AC +3 natural armor; Attack 2 talons (1d6 plus grab), bite (1d8); Ability Scores Str +8, Dex –2, Con +4.
These combine to give the following base abilities;
ROC, Paladin’s Mount (Level 7)
Augmented Animal
N Large Animal
Init +4, Senses Perception +1, low-light
Languages Common,
----------------------------------------------------------------
AC 25 (+4 Dex, +12 natural, -1 size), touch 13, flat-footed 21
hp 33 (6d8+6 HD)
CMD +15
DR
Immune
Resist
Vulnerable
Fort +6, Ref +9, Will +3, evasion, devotion (+4 morale vs enchantment)
-----------------------------------------------
Spd 20’, fly 80’.
Base Atk +4; CMB +11
Atk Options 2 talons +10 (1d6+6+grab), bite +10 (1d8+6)
Special Actions
-----------------------------------------------
Abilities Str 22, Dex 19, Con 13, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 11 +1 extra ability boost
SQ link, share spells
Feats +3 Feats
Skills (6) Acrobatics (Dex), Climb (Str), Escape Artist (Dex), Fly (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Perception (Wis), Stealth (Dex), Survival (Wis), Swim (Str).
Tricks 9
To this base, we still need to apply the following;
+1 to any one ability score,
3 feats,
6 skill ranks,
9 tricks.
My first impressions of this are favourable, except for one issue, which I can only assume is an error: the natural armor bonus of +12 seems waaaaay too high.
I really do not believe that has been scaled back far enough, to...
i really like the stats for this mount for me and think i should be allowed to summon it as soon as yaaaay

If you get a message from DMDemon, he's been a long-time lurker, since he ran SCAP, but too lazy to post much.

I had to pick a new host, I don't know what would happen to me so far from the tomb and I dont want to risk it.
I couldn't try the dwarf-man again, the elf and the knight are strong and the dwarf-woman looks too fierce, so you'll have to do.
I'll try to get things straight again once we hit town.
Though, I have to say, this purse is fair jangling with more coin than I've seen in my life.
Maybe I'll swing by Zalamandra's and play 'Rug-a-Tug Roulette'?
See how many times I can risk you getting the pox?"
He he your evil snorter your my kinda dm
if nobodies seen the zombie diaries yet they should its the scariest zombie ala blair witch type film there is (and its british he he we know how to scare the s$%* out of people just look at our royal family)
so the party is parlaying with the dragon moltenwing and trying to retreat as they dont like the look of the cavern when it grows bored of the conversation and attacks!
as an interupt snorter drops a green veil in front of it and stops it,s breath weapon as the party was in a conga line of death formation and looking forward to the said results.
the party all acting before moltenwing beat a retreat so dragon with its massive fort save goes thrugh veil knowing only a one could kill it!
guess what i rolled for its save then?
one dead dragon and not a single hit point of damage to pc,s.
can anyone top that?
while technically not a film the episode of doctor who called blink scared me,it was well filmed and scripted and i bet it gave kids everywhere nightmares
American werewolf in london did it to me.
i was only about ten and i live in yorkshire so the
first half of the film made me crap myself

The Dracolich managed do get the Druid unconscious with a full attack and paralyzed the Paladin with this Gaze, but he had no real chance against their barrage of fire spells, him bing the first monster in a long time without any resistance or immunity agains fire. He had to eat several scorching rays, both empowered and split ray versions and was finally blown up by the druid's fire seed bomb.
i also thought vittris was quite under powered as he only lasted about four rounds being flanked by the party paladin/cleric and an occult slayer .
i also have had to change fetors spell list as i thought he was a one trick pony.why would a necromancer not have any summon undead spells or a spectral hand to deliver his vampiric touch?
anyway hes the only one left standing in the soulpillar room and about to be turned to mush after his several hit and run strikes have left him with only one dimesion door left and few attack spells left.
any hints on how to proceed would be appreciated
watched blink on saturday, and i have to say it scared the pants off me
more than some 18cert horror movies.
just goes to show that good story telling and subtle effects work better than millions spent on special fx.
Im from Halifax west yorkshire and there are quite a few groups in my area and i even have one person coming to my shackled city campaign every other week from south wales.I have been playing since 1977 and with a few breaks inbetween have been gaming constantly.I also do play warhammer, but dont hold that against me its really not my fault,i was plyed with alcohol and told that it wouldnt cost much money to play!yeah right. oh and please no more stereotypical british put downs.my teeth are white and straight.
my first tip would be take your adventure to bed every night(when your not with someone else)and make sure you know it inside out, because if your players are anything like mine they will throw you curve balls all the time, and if your not prepared it could have a bad effect on the atmosphere of the game, especially with the first few chapters,if your umming and rrring about questions about npc,s and such.
my second is don,t think the encounters are too tough.if you have 5 to 6 players they wont have any major problems until the kua toa temple.
my third is encourage the pc,s to involve themselves in cauldrons comings and goings, they will get the feeling that the town is a living breathing place, and will enjoy it so much more.
enjoy it, its one of the best adventures iv,e ran in 20 years
While i give my players free reign to do whatever they like in down time, just recently they are becoming quite a force within the political ins and outs of cauldrons running.
with one player establishing a church of heroneous which has noble backing due to some lucky diplomacy rolls and good roleplaying.
another setting things in motion to create a new thieves guild.
and 3 players taking leadership feat with good leadership scores, the players have a quite large force to draw upon,i was just wondering if other dm,s have had this problem and how they dealt with it?
what i have done is have thirfvane(not sure on spelling oops)turn up quite ofton and be seen at some of the major events.
i,ve also had the party wizard be an apprentice to fetor ,looking after his tower and so on.
also the recent addition of a magehunter to the party has given me great oppertunities to have him pursuing any number of cagewrights including fetor so the wizard in the party is keeping his masters identity hush hush at the moment
Chunky wrote: Great stuff Snorter! It's yer old pal Chunk here. Lets have some more please! I'm dying to read the next installment. :) hello chunky, i,d be interested in how your campaign is going. ive heard their all quite high level now. COME ON PUT FINGER TO KEYBOARD!!!
I have just had a quick glance through some books and cant find anything that says you cant do this as the weapon strikes from the direction of the caster so any intervening things will provide cover ect

The party are up against Skaven and the Harpoon Spider soon. I'm going to have fun with that one. :)
My guys are coming up to that, too. It should be fun--I don't think the players even know what a harpoon spider is!
--Fang WHEN MY PARTY WERE GOING INTO THAT THEY SET OFF THE ALARM AT THE TOP OF CAVERN,SKAVEN HEARD THIS WENT INVISIBLE AND WENT TO THE BEACH ,WAITED FOR THE PC,S TO START DECENDING IN THE CAGE THEN PROCEEDED TO LIGHTNING BOLT THE CAGE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE CASTING PHANTASMAL KILLER ON PARTY CLERIC WHO FAILED ALL SAVES AND DIED ON THE SPOT.MY PARTY ARE STILL TAKING ABOUT IT MONTHS LATER.LOTS OF FUN TO BE HAD IN THAT CHAPTER.
MY PARTY ARE JUST INTO DEMONSCAR LEGACY AND AFTER A FEW PC DEATHS ARE AS FOLLOWS.
1=TYCHO HUMAN WIZARD 8 (POMPOUS AND ARROGANT,BELIEVES HIMSELF UNKILLABLE)HELLO SNORTER:)
2=BADVOK DWARF FIGHTER 2 ROGUE 6(KNOWN AS TRAP SPRINGER FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.
3=LIA ELF RANGER 4 CLERIC 4(VERY HARD, 18 STR 18 DEX BUT HAS YET TO REALISE THIS AS SHE IS NEW TO GAME)
4=KAILE CLERIC 6 PALADIN 2(USING DIVINE FEATS TO USE TURNS TO BOOST SPELLS,AND MAKES ME SAY "WHAT THE F######"NEARLY EVERY TIME
5=SHIBA ITCHIRO SAMURIA 8(DOES WHAT IT SAYS IN THE TIN)HI NERMAL
6=DAMARGO BRB 1 FTR 1 HEX 3 OCCULT SLAYER 3(NEW TO GAME BUT OH MY GOD,DONT BE A SPELLCASTER AROUND THIS GUY)
THEY SEEM TO BE HANDLING MOST OF THE ENCOUNTERS WELL BUT I HAVE LET THEM REST QUITE OFTEN SO LETS SEE WHEN THEY CANT DO THIS ALL THE TIME
Snorter wrote: Where are you, you cowardly skank!
I go to all the trouble of breaking back into the temple, kill your stupid dwarf-prophet (so much for our reward), banish his pet elemental, learn to break your spell resistance, cover the party in fire-resistance, we wait for you , and what happens?
You never showed up!
Well screw you!
i,m sure if your determined to gain a swift and painful death i can oblige you! heads up next game session:)
