You all have gathered at one of the Mouth Cairns tucked in the shadow of a hulking metallic structure along the Wander. These shallow, circular hollows— each marked by a short, round wall built from the jaws of dead Peregrines—are considered among the few safe places along this stretch of the route. Those who enter a bone circle must give some promise of their good intent to the slain lest the dead mouths awake and cast their retribution. Even those who don’t believe in the so-called Slaytongue may find themselves at the end of a weapon if they try to break the peace here.

RP intro time. Why are you on the wandering walk?

If I am keeping track of things correctly, it looks like I am still waiting on a "ready" from Bobby, Spaz, Klokk, and Voss?

If I am wrong on that and missed someone, just let me know.

I am going to put up the first bit in the game play forum, and it will just be some RP introductions. So, for those joining late, it won't make a very big difference.

Hope you all have fun, and don't feel bad if you have suggestions or comments to make the game more enjoyable. I have an open door policy and open to constructive criticism.

As you post in the game play forum, try to have a connection to the Wandering Walk, which can be found on the campaigns info page.

Alright, the interest thread got some positive response, so let's start an official recruitment.

To play you'll need the Numenera Player's Guide, you can get this on the cheap from Drivethrurpg.

Follow the standard character creation rules, this is my first attempt at GMing the game, so I won't be using any of the optional rules. (RE: You're all human.)

You can post as little or as much background for your character as you would like.

I'll leave this open for a week, or until I get enough finished characters to start the game. I'd like it if everyone could post once a day during the week (M-Thr) I will post sparsely on the weekend.
You should be interested in roleplaying and telling a story, more than a precise tactical battle focus, though there will be abstract story driven combat.

From the Numenera website..."Numenera is a science fantasy roleplaying game set in the far distant future. Humanity lives amid the remnants of eight great civilizations that have risen and fallen on Earth. These are the people of the Ninth World. This new world is filled with remnants of all the former worlds: bits of nanotechnology, the dataweb threaded among still-orbiting satellites, bio-engineered creatures, and myriad strange and wondrous devices. These remnants have become known as the numenera.

Player characters explore this world of mystery and danger to find these leftover artifacts of the past, not to dwell upon the old ways, but to help forge their new destinies, utilizing the so-called “magic” of the past to create a promising future."

Would run the intro adventure from the back of the CRB.

Any interest?

I'll be more or less test driving a psion in a run through of the Dragon's Demand module. He will be the only psionic character, so we'll use the magic/psionic transparency stuff.

I've never played a psion before, and I am looking for fleshing out his background/personality so that he isn't flat and completely predictable. Here is a stat block if that helps.

Any ideas for characteristics, backgrounds, anything fluffy is welcome!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Subject says it all.

Let's say someone was feeling ambitious and looking to start work on something. What products from a third party, AREN'T out there?

On Order 2696793, I received the campaign setting Demon's Revisited instead of the player's companion, Demon Hunter's handbook.

I need to know if I can get the handbook shipped with my September order, and I need to know what I should do with Demon's Revisited.

Also, for my September subscription, the My Subscriptions is showing that the character add-on for the card game will be shipped, but I already got that as part of my subscription in August.

So I have seen in some other threads, that "Order History" and "My Subscriptions" are showing the date that a label was printed, as when the order shipped, but that date is incorrect, and orders with pre-printed labels will ship today (hopefully.)

My order doesn't show a date, it says it is currently pending, does this mean that my order is not one of the orders that has a pre-printed label, and thus will not be shipped today?

I see a lot of suggestions for PCs to "pre-buff" before a fight. How do you usually handle this?

What I mean, my group usually just roams from room to room and fights what they find behind the door. Once they find a bad guy, I wouldn't let them sit there and pile on the buffs before the fight starts.

Is this just poor tactics on their behalf? How do you let your PCs pre-buff? This also works for BBEGs, they usually have 'before combat begins' buffs as well. How/when do you apply those?

Male Human Wizard - 1

15 Calistril, 4713

The narrow dirt path broadens into an expanse of well-trod ground and dry saw grass. A collection of ramshackle buildings sits amid the cut stumps of the cleared forest. An inn – boards covering its windows and an iron chain dangling from its front door – is the largest structure. Houses built around the inn are barely more than one-room shacks, most falling down or ripped apart for their timber. Rising above it all on a gentle hillock, a small whitewashed church marks the scattered buildings as a town. The hill is strangely unnatural, the only such rise for miles around.
A few people shamble between the buildings, eyeing new arrivals as they go about their daily routines. All of the townsfolk are old, stooped by the weight of years of hard work and harder conditions. Their wrinkled faces are mixed with sweat, dust and tears; the visible marks of their long lives of toil.
Suddenly, an old man’s voice rings out, shattering the silence:

“That damned fox! It took another of mah chickens!”

As I said, this starts a little sandboxy; what would you like to do in the town of Lessef?

Male Human Wizard - 1

Let me know that you're here and your character is ready to go.

I'm gonna give you a little bit of time to finish up your character, touch ups, mechanic fixes, etc.

Once everyone is checked in and good to go, I'll put up the first game play thread, shooting for Monday at the latest.

It has been a long time since I attempted to GM a pbp. The last times the game fizzled out before it got much steam. One game just up and disappeared, another really got going, and the third I just wasn't able to invest the time into it to properly develop it, attempting something homebrew was a folly on my behalf...

Now as I have more experience under my belt, I'm going to give it another try. At this time, I am anticipating only running the first adventure in the Splinters of Faith adventure from Frog God Games. If things go well, the game is moving smoothly, and everything works itself out, then I will have no issue continuing the adventure.

Splinters of Faith is pretty sandboxy, you will have a good deal of freedom and choice to do what you want. The setting is not written to take place in Golarion, it is a rather generic 'small town' type of thing to start with. For simplicity sake, divine characters can follow a Golarion deity, and we'll just pretend they exist in this setting as well.

I am able to post frequently during the week, but less so during the weekends. I would ask that those who wish to play have similar posting goals and availability. At least one or two posts a day Mon-Fri, with little to no expectation for posting on Saturday and Sunday.

I will probably use googledocs for maps, though I am still open to other options.

I will take a party of 4-6 level 1 players.

You may create your characters with a 20pt buy. You may have max starting gold for your class. For the most part, I'll accept any paizo material to be used for character creation, and any third party material that I have access to and am familiar with.

You do not need to have a character fully stated out to apply, but I would like to know the basics, race/class, appearance, and a little RP background, what your character does, wants to do, etc. The more information you can give me, the better.

To begin, you are new adventurers looking to get your feet wet in the small (almost ghost) town of Lessef. There may be some additional 'hooks' and backgrounds for specific characters as they are chosen, but this will be the generic starting place.

I will tenatively keep recruitment open for 1 week, until Wednesday February 13, at noon cst.

I am sure I forgot some information, so feel free to ask questions, and to begin 'playing' your characters in this forum.

Dark Archive

Am playing in a PFS game, and have the following party:

Rogue (Vanilla, no archetypes)
Gunslinger (Musket)
Cleric (Melee battle Cleric)
Bard (Thundercaller)
Magus (Kensai with a bastard sword)

I've played arcane casters before, so wanted to a different direction. Was originally set to be a 2H Paladin, but not sure that is most useful.

I would like to have a high DPR as that is the role that I haven't gotten to play, I'm usually Gming...

So, looking for suggestions for the 6th party member, I'm a fan of different and odd combinations, but it does have to be PFS legal.

Thanks in advance.

My party landed in the final witchgate at Renchurch and 3 of the 4 were instantly killed by the banshee standing guard. One of those 3 was the cleric wielding the Raven's Head mace. The fourth escaped, and plans on returning to Caliphas (or somewhere) and recruiting new help to return to Renchurch.

My question is, how do I get a new party in there? What should be different for their journey? And what should the Whispering Way do now that the Raven's Head was dropped at their feet?

I'll be running a game (level 11 module) this weekend, and one player is going to be a synthesist summoner.

I am very new to this class, and understand that the synthesist is very complicated.

Please audit this sheet and make sure that everything is done correctly.

Looking for 2 players to play in an online maptools and mumble game. It starts at 7:30ish pm CST and ends at 1030ish.

It is going to alternate between Shattered Star and a mostly homebrew campaign every other week. Both are starting at level 1, and you would be joining in from the very beginning. Let me know if interested.

Settlement stat blocks, magic items in particular confuse me a little bit.

It lists an amount of items, like 3d4 minor items or something. So lets say you do the rolls, and you come up with items that are under the base value. Let's say the base value is 8k, and you roll up a wand that costs 750. Isn't that wand most likely available anyway? (75% chance)

If so, why does it go on the list of available items? Does one have to pay to have items created that aren't on the list? If that's the case, then what does it mean that there is a 75% chance to find a magic item.

Aside from all of this, how do you handle shopping and magic items in your games? I dont like the idea of a magic supermarket that has whatever someone wants, but it seems like that is what exists as far as under the base value goes.

Title asks the question.

A fighter/archer that I am GMing has (Improved)Snap shot, I have told him that he can't make an attack of opportunity if the target has cover. (As per the cover rules)

He has asked if Improved Precise Shot would negate that rule.

Cover rule::
You can't execute an attack of opportunity against an opponent with cover relative to you.

Snap shot::
While wielding a ranged weapon with which you have Weapon Focus, you threaten squares within 5 feet of you. You can make attacks of opportunity with that ranged weapon. You do not provoke attacks of opportunity when making a ranged attack as an attack of opportunity.

improved precise shot::
Your ranged attacks ignore the AC bonus granted to targets by anything less than total cover, and the miss chance granted to targets by anything less than total concealment. Total cover and total concealment provide their normal benefits against your ranged attacks.

Am currently GMing a Carrion Crown campaign, and to avoid any spoilers, the PCs are level 12, and in a large city.

This means the city has a base value of 8,000, and this particular city has a CL7 on duty.

I have used a random generator to produce the correct number of minor/medium/major magic items and given this list of items to the PCs.

This leaves me with a couple of questions. First, am I correct that the city will not have an item costing more than 8,000 gold pieces if it isn't on the list of randomly generated items? Similarly does this mean there are no magic enhancements or items available that are created above a CL 7?

If I am correct in both of those assumptions, how is the party supposed to spend there level 12 money? When helping put a character together, the best belt available would be a single stat +2? This seems to leave the party under geared for where a level 12 *should* be?

Came into a Paizo gift card and am looking for good map packs, or flip maps for Ashes at Dawn. Any other great game aid advice will be appreciated as well.

(I already have the blank flip map that can be drawn on)

Saw this the other day, and have found some pretty fun people to follow. Any other geeks or gamers you follow on Twitter that isn't on the list?

Basic Info: Will play on Thursday evenings at 8 pm Central time (I am in KS) and will play over maptools. We also have mumble that would be nice, but if you can type quickly, probably not a requirement. I will email the chosen party all of the connection information. There may be times when we need to reschedule because of real life commitments (i.e. my wife is having our second baby on May 1) but if you are constantly unable to join the game, I'll replace you. We'll start at the beginning of Skull and Shackles.

Character Creation: 20 point buy, and max starting gold for your class. 2 traits, 1 of which should be from the player's guide. You should also strongly consider investing in the skills and feats that are 'suggested' in the player's guide. If you are familiar with maptools and can have your token saved with the appropriate macros and character information that will make things much easier. (I use MT1.3.86.03_DnD35_Pathfinder.cmpgn) I am seeking a party of 4. For now, if you don't want to put all of the character info into a profile here, that's ok. The more details you can give me the better, but I understand not wanting to write character details over and over and over since this forum will not be the play medium.

Approved Content: Anything by Paizo will probably be ok, some third party stuff might be ok, ask me first. It will likely depend on my access to said material. If I feel you have chosen a race that is un-balanced (Drow Noble?) I will either ask you to change it, or if I am overwhelmed with applicants, or am busy, I will just not pick the character.

Other things you might want to know: I like interesting characters and cool stories. Those are a big plus. I will likely use some 'adult language' over mumble, if that offends you, I will try to behave, if it REALLY offends you, I am probably not the best GM for you. I am busy, pbp has been hard for me, but a published module and a set time shouldn't be a problem for me to maintain. If you have questions, ask them, if you want to show off your character or get some RP mileage out of them, feel free to act in character below.

So the Dimensional Shambler can Dimension Door at will, and has Dimension Mastery which states: A dimensional shambler can take actions normally after using dimension door effects. A dimensional shambler under the effects of a dimensional anchor or dimensional lock spell can ignore the effects of the spell for 1 round by making a DC 25 Knowledge (planes) check as a move action.

However, Dimension Door is a standard action, so if the shambler uses dimension door, does it only have a move action left that round? Or is it able to dimension door, then attack/move/etc?

Hello!

Am looking for an adventure, not really an ongoing campaign, that will really test a group adventurers. Possible TPKs abound, certain PC death, etc.

Will be encouraging each PC to create at least 2 characters for the likely event of 1 of them getting killed.

I don't want to do conversions, I need it to be written for PF rules.

3rd party stuff is A-Ok.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but searching for mounted combat rules clarifications was overwhelming. When my gnome with his lance rides his wolf on a charge, what happens to the wolf's bite attack? The gnome has to lance from 10 feet away while the wolf only has reach of five. But the wolf was the one charging, doesn't it HAVE to attack?

Suggestions welcome, please include reasoning behind them.

Starting Jade Regent, session 1 with this group, went ok, but a player had to make a "heal-bot" to follow the group around, and doesn't want to do that anymore. So here is the group make up, and I am looking for two things. A suggestion on a replacement class, and so cool RP ideas for 'the new guy.'

I am currently a tetori monk, and I will probably be the one changing to something else. So the whole group:

Tetori Monk (me)
Sword Saint Samurai
Ninja
Alchemist (bombs)
(A bard who may or may not keep playing)

Male Human Wizard - 1

The day began, like any other.

The day progressed, like any other.

Until the messenger arrived...

This day is unlike any other.

Death. The loss of someone meaningful. An employer, a teacher, and above all, a friend, Professor Lorrimor; has passed.

The day slows down. Everything slows down. You must now prepare your things and head for the town of Ravengro. His daughter requests that you come. One of the professors wishes was that you be present for the reading of his last will and testament.

Full of sadness, anxiety, mourning, and even fear, you make way to Ravengro. You will honor the professor's last wish.

A map of Ravengro

In time you will be able to explore the town, for now, you make your way to the Restlands, as noted by the "P" north of town.

You make it right on time, several people are gathered for the professor's funeral. It looks like you will have time to meet some of them and share in their grief before things get started.

Male Human Wizard - 1

If you have been selected, please let me know you are ready to begin with a simple check in post here. With the weekend approaching, I will have limited time to post and reply, but I will try to put up a gameplay post before so you have some more RP opportunities, I hope you all enjoy the game.

Have had a great time so far with my Dragon Empire's game, so am willing to expand and give some more pbp opportunities. So, I will start a Carrion Crown game.

Here is what I am looking for, and I will answer questions as they are posted, the best I can.

For starters... It will be level 1 to start, you can have max gold for you class, you can have two traits, one of which must be from the carrion crown player's guide. I will accept anything made by paizo (races/classes/traits/archetypes/etc), but nothing from third party publishing or 3.5 material. Create your characters using the 20 point buy system. One stat below 10, nothing lower than 8, or higher than 18. (Before racial mods)

Your character should have a relationship to Lorrimor and that should be indicative in whatever character you submit for consideration.

Guns? (UC) Guns are rare. You should have a good story as to why you have a gun, how you got it, etc. I'm not opposed to them, but I'm not gonna jump up and down for them either.

Alignment? Tend to want 'good' or 'neutral' characters, if you want to be something else, you might want to message me and see if I think it will fit before putting too much work into it.

Posting? I would like posts to be made at least once every 24 hours during the week. I can't really do much on the weekends, so the game will slow down considerably Friday afternoon/evening until Monday morning. I am in the CST time zone, so to keep on the same page/schedule, it would be great if you could post during the 8am - 8pm time window.

What am I looking for? I have became a huge fan of the narrative, role playing opportunities that pbp entails. So I want interesting characters, neat ideas, and well developed stories to bring a character to life. Characters that will make the game interesting and fun to read and keep it progressing. Characters should be expected to Role Play the 'horror' theme, so keep that in mind when designing them. I will also rely on narratives for combat as much as possible, if a map becomes vital, i'll use google docs, but will hopefully not need to do that. I will also appreciate people who play their characters during the recruitment period, letting me know who you are is a great help to me.

I would like to fill the four roles, Assault, Skill, Divine, and Arcane. I might take a fifth player if there is a character that I REALLY like. When you post your character, please let me know which role you want to fill.

When? For now, I'll keep recruitment open until Friday, when I will announce who I am going to start with. We will start play the following Monday. I will give you a warning if I find what I think works and can close recruitment earlier than that.

Have fun, and ask anything I might have missed.

Sitting in the Hidden Tiger in the early morning following the selection of Junk Crew, Guava is already indulging in drink. His mind racing, he is sure of only one thing, those who drew the green tiles, will fail. Even if they complete their mission, it will likely result in failure. So much to do... So much to be responsible for.

An idea came to him...

But... Is it even real? He thought to himself...

No harm in finding out... He mutters after downing a drink

Guard, bring me that healer that thought he could dodge his fate, and the other miscreants that pulled blue tiles...

Tien soldiers, dressed like the other members of the Tiger Brigade approach you, Let's go citizen, Guava... The Empire... Need you now! Gather what you need, and lets go.

OOC discussion for Blue Team.

Please 'check in' below.

Male Human Wizard - 1

As the sun begins to creep out over the horizon, you make your way back to the Hidden Tiger. Guava is already impatiently pacing outside the front door.

You were to be here at first light, do not make tardiness a habit, the Grandmother demands, and deserves promptness.

He paces in front of you a few more times, self absorbed in his own importance and creating a dramatic moment.

As you know, the Empire, the Grandmother, have many needs. Some jobs are not worth the risk to highly trained soldiers who will serve their destiny gaining honor on the battlefield. For those jobs, we have you, the Empire's newest Junk Crew.

One of the greatest benefits to the Empire is we risk very little if you die in service. Junk Crew is replaceable, and cheap.

However, if you should choose to try and desert or betray the Empire, you will be tracked and killed. Do not worry about "how," The Grandmother has her ways, just know you will be killed. Killed slowly.

He paces some more, wanting his words to sink in and resonate.

Junk Crews main job, clean up the Empire's trash.

A few days ago, a group of humanitarians bringing aid to a flooded village near the Sea of Ghost went missing somewhere South of the Szaezan Crags. We can not risk Hwanggot spies crossing our borders and stealing from the Grandmother. You will travel East and find out what happened to these servants of She who is Generous. They are presumed dead, and thus will make easy pickings for the vultures of Hwanggot. Recover what you can, clean up the rest. We can leave nothing for the Hwanggot to find. You will know you have found them as they will have this patch on their uniform.

He hands you a bright blue patch that could easily be mistaken for the Bachuan flag, except in the middle where there is usually a bright sun, is a small white circle with a red + in the middle.

The Grandmother will pay her Junk Crew for their service. For every patch you return with, your Crew will be paid 5pp. The Empire will also pay 30% of the value of items you recover from the humanitarians. You will also be permitted to keep 30% of everything you find along the way. The rest will be given generously to the Empire.

You were to gather what you would need before this meeting, so I trust you are ready to depart and begin gratefully serving Grandmother Pei.

Male Human Wizard - 1

This forum will be for out of character discussion concerning the Dragon Empire game.

Congratulations on being chosen to play. There were many great applications, and more than a few great characters will be retired prematurely.

If you were chosen to be one of the players, please do a couple of things for me, if you haven't already, and let me know when you are ready to begin.

First, please create an alias or character that you can use to post in the gameplay forum. Use that and just make a post here letting me know that you are aware you were selected, that you want you spot, you intend to play, etc.

Once you have done that please make sure that you edit the information for that character to show all of its pertinent information. I.e. ability scores, attacks, saves, spells, etc etc. This will require that you also 'finalize' a character sheet and background. Please do not make major changes to your character, as you were chosen on the merits of what you initially posted in the recruitment thread, and changing now would be unfair to those who were not selected.

Once that is all complete, please post here, as your character, letting me know that you are ready to begin. Once everyone has checked in and is ready, I will create the first post in the gameplay forum.

I would like to make that post on Thursday or Friday, so please try to finish up your character.

Congratulations again, I hope you enjoy the ride.

Got a lot of interest very quickly when I asked for it, so I decided to embark on this project. As I mentioned in the interest thread, I am a new GM to pbp, so your patience is required if you want to be a part of the game. The campaign will be mostly homemade and make use of the gazetteer, though I will surely borrow and modify some content that I have laying around the house as well. With that said, here are my guidelines in creating your characters.

I will accept 4 players (Maybe 5 if i just can't make up my mind)

The game will begin in the region of Bachuan, though you may be from anywhere in the Dragon Empire. (More below)

Ability Scores & Alignment
You have 20 points to create your character's ability scores. None maybe higher than 18 or lower than 8 before racial modifications. Only 1 ability score may go below 10.
As for Alignment, I will probably be most favorable towards good and neutral aligned characters. If you want to be evil, please private message me with your intentions, and if I am persuaded or interested, I will write you back and see where things go.

Races
Character races may be Elven, Half-Elven, or any of the races (including all the human variations) from the Dragon Empires Primer. Characters do not have to be natives of Bachuan, they may be from anywhere in the Dragon Empire, and they must have 1 trait from their native region.

Classes
Any class that comes from Paizo will be considered, however it needs to have a Dragon Empire Flavor attached to it. If you want to be an AM Barb, that might be ok, but you need to tell me where that character fits in the Empire, and how it is thematically appropriate for region. Archetypes are fine(again, must be Paizo), and some will make the task of flavoring your character a little easier.

Misc
You may begin play with average starting gold for your class. I'm not sure how I will respond to +startinggoldtraits but initially they elicit a frown from me.
Speaking of traits, you get 2. One of them must be from the Dragon Empire's Primer and relevant to where your character is from. The other may come from anything published by Paizo.
No guns.
I am hoping for players to be able to post 1/day during the week, with no expectations for posts during the weekends.
I will do initiative rolls, saves, and other monotonousness rolls to help keep the game moving forward and the story the primary interest.

What am I looking for?
I want interesting characters that make me want to see them develop. I really hope that a majority of the 'story' is written by the players, and applicants who inspire my imagination in this way will get preferred and chosen to play.
At the very least character applications should tell me who the character is, where they are from, why are they in Bachuan, what motivates them, what scares them? Are they Grandmother Pei loyalists, or are they rebels, if they are not native to Bachuan, how will they react to the Grandmother's rule?
Beyond that, imaginative, and creative characters are encouraged, do not feel limited or bound by the above questions.

I will stop considering applicants on Wednesday the 15th of February, with an anticipated start date of the following Monday. If I get overwhelmed, I may stop applications early, especially if I find 'the right' group.

Please post your questions in this forum so that I only have to answer them once. Good luck and thank you for considering my game and exercising the patience to want to play it.

May the avalanche begin...

Am considering, creating, and GMing a homemade campaign centered in the Dragon Empire.

Would likely use the following guidelines.

Post 1/day during the week, no requirement for the weekends.

Races/Classes. Races would have to come from the Dragon Empires Primer, and classes would have to fit the flavor. This isn't to say you can't be a particular class, but your description and flavor of that class would have to fit in the Dragon Empire thematically.

20 pt buy (Only 1 ability score can go below a 10, and nothing below an 8... Before racial mods. Likewise, nothing above an 18 before racials)

Average starting gold

Right now, I am just seeing if interest exists. I am new to DMing a pbp, so patience is required. As mentioned, it will also be mostly homemade content, though I may borrow some ideas from books/adventures I have laying around.

If there is enough interest I will start an actual recruitment campaign and give players time to create/apply their characters.

Questions? Interest?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I really like the idea of the tetori monk, and tried to figure out a good feat progression.

I am left wondering if he will have any dpr at all, and hence much use to the party.

Here are the feats I was thinking. Suggestions for replacements are welcome, as well as thoughts on overall group value. An idea of dpr would also be great.

lvl1: Improved Unarmed strike, Stunning Fist, Improved Grapple. Combat expertise (Monk 1) Improved Trip (H)

Lvl 2: Stunning Pin
Lvl 3: Ki Throw
Lvl 5: Binding Throw
lvl 6: Greater Grapple
lvl 7: Jawbreaker
lvl9: Rapid Grappler
lvl 10: Pinning Knockout
lvl 11: Bonebreaker
lvl 13: Pinning Rend
lvl 14: Chokehold
Lvl 15: Final Embrace
Lvl 17: ??
Lvl 18: Neckbreaker
Lvl 19: ??

My group of PCs just arrived in Feldgrau.

Up to this point, they have had a pretty easy time with things. The group consist of a rogue, an oracle (heals), a magus, a barbarian, and a ranger(switch hitter).

I don't want to make Feldgrau impossible, but I do want to make them sweat and struggle and face a little more challenge.

Any advice, especially tips with Vrood, to make them feel the horror of Feldgrau?

I know, I could just make a barbarian, but whats the fun in that?

Am looking at the Boreal Bloodline for a sorcerer, and am wondering if it would be possible to make a melee focused character. I was thinking of being a Half-Orc for the greataxe proficiency, as the description of the bloodline makes me think of some powerful viking awakening in a young sorcerer. And powerful vikings don't use light blades.

"Descended from inhabitants of the lands of ice and snow, you count among your ancestors giant-kin, troll-born, and frost-rimed spirits. Their savage and raw energies flow down through generations to infuse you to the marrow with the chill of the polar wind, crackling auroras, and the long winter’s night."

For the 2 games I have coming up to play in, I have a 15 points to spend on ability scores.

Any suggestions?

Group consists of:

Cavalier, small sized with a medium mount, uses a net and trident, and generally just gets in the way.
Ninja
Fighter
Witch, focusing on de-buffs

I will be the fifth, but can't really decide on a class... suggestions?

Am a somewhat 'noob' DM and have started using notecards to track initiative, conditions on players, etc.

So I have a notecard, with each of my player's character's name on it, and any conditions that are currently affecting them.

What information, layout, use, etc. do some of you other DMs that use notecards have?

Any suggestions along these lines would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In a game I am currently running, we have a good aligned oracle, and a lawful evil aligned sorcerer. The sorcerer has been very meticulous in hiding his alignment, so the oracle wouldn't "know" that the sorcerer is "evil."

Does this make it so that the sorcerer can not receive divine healing from the oracle? If so, can someone point me to where it would say that in the rules, or via an interpretation of the rules?

*Yes, am rather new to DMing the pathfinder system, and our group is rather new to playing it, but we are loving it more and more each game.

Ok, in 4E with pets/companions, the owner has to spend actions to issue commands to the companion. So, certain circumstances withstanding, the druid and her companion cannot both attack in the same round. I have read about animal companions and done some web searching, but I can't find anything that speaks to this in Pathfinder.

How do pets/companions function in pathfinder? Do they and their owner get a 'turn?' Does the owner spend her actions to give them to the companion? Anything else I should generally know?

Thanks in advance
