Ka'narg brushes some bone chips from his shoulders and turns to Ehlers. "You did well enough even without spells and despite your affliction from the shadows. Don't underestimate your capabilities - or those of others for that matter," he says before preparing to descend further into the crypt.

Apologies, I've been having a couple of issues with using Roll20 on my iPad, so had to wait til I get good access to PC. Ka'narg continues to push forward through the undead, taking another heavy two-handed swing at the skeleton (skeleton B) in front of him. Ka'narg harrumphs at Elhers, about to say something but his words fail him at the bluster of the elf's arrogance. He makes his way to the southern door and readies himself to descend further into the crypt. Voting for moving on - normally he'd be ok to sit back and rest, but Elhers has his back up and he wants to delay no further in trying to rescue Dimira and anyone from his own expedition who may yet survive.

"The arrows are very much blunt - one of Roldare's companions must have gotten around to replacing the sharp ones in the pillar with blunt ones, for which I'm eternally grateful for not having a sharp arrow driven through my skull," Ka'narg muses to himself, unaware that he is talking out aloud.

"I will be alright, but thank you for your concern," Ka'narg says, rubbing at his temple where the arrow struck him. He bends down to pick one of the projectiles up - surely being struck should have done more than just given a nice welt to the side of his face. Ka'narg will look for any arrows to see if there's anything of interest about them.

Ka'narg, having just been konked in the skull with an arrow, growls in pain and steps into the room from the hallway, knowing he will make it more difficult to squeeze past him should he remain. Ka'narg looks about the room where he had fallen under the claws of the skeletons, his gaze distant as he recalls those final moments. He wondered where his companions were - did they press on, or were they defeated? Jarif's words break him from his memories, and he shakes his head. "We had yet to figure it out - Roldare had said that we needed the keys and the shield. We found a key at the bottom of the pool, imbued with magic, but still had yet to find any significance to the shields."

Watching the smoke build gradually, Ka'narg turns his gaze to Goldi. "You don't happen to have, by chance, prepared that spell you used on me the last time you told me to cool off? He will begin to take his cloak, already shortened having been torn to strips, from his shoulders and ready himself to try and beat the flames out with it if this course appears to be possible.

"When we encountered it ourselves, there was a nauseating smoke in the room, so be wary. I know very little of shades and how to kill them." Ka'narg shows the group back to the room with the beetle carcass and points to the door to the south. "There is a hallway beyond the door, and it enters a room lit with a brazier, or it least it was when we explored it." He reaches into his boot and slides the dagger out of it, handing it to Jarif. "You may find this more useful than I will. It is enchanted, but to what extent we could not tell." Ka'narg then unclips a well crafted orc double axe and readies himself to face the shade once more. I can't recall what enchantment the dagger had on it, GM. Can you enlighten the group?

Ka'narg kneels down as the happy boar approaches, patting the porcine beast on the head and giving a scratch behind the ears, surreptitiously tucking the dagger back into his boot. He turns to look at Goldi, relief flooding his face. "Jaer's alive? That is good news - when I found the dagger she was using and nothing more, I feared the worst. That she found help is better." As Roldare explains to the newcomers who Dimira is and who has her, the half-orc turns his head to the man. "In all fairness, the shade was very angry before Jaer took its dagger from the brazier. She damn near burned her hand to uselessness to do so as well."

Ka'narg narrows his eyes at the rude elf. "For your information I was felled first in a battle against a horde of skeletons. When I came to, the rest of my companions had either fled or been taken. I made it back to this room where I was given a potion of healing by Roldare," he says, motioning to the source of the first voice heard by Ehlers and the others. "Also, Roldare is one of the townsfolk who came before my companions and I to prepare the way for us, I suppose you could put it. "His sister is still missing, so unless you've more than a snarky attitude to accompany you, I suggest you leave."

"Goldi, is that you? By the wind and the waves.. hold on." After a short scuffling of boots on hardened ground and the scraping of items from in front of the door, the door opens a crack to reveal a half-orc man of about nineteen years on the other side, looking like he hasn't slept well in days. His eyes appear to be scanning at the head height level for a gnome, and if the person in front is taller, a scowl quickly replaces his tired countenance, and the tip of a dagger appears in the crack in the door as well. "If you've ill intent I suggest you leave now, or else find that a crossbow bolt will be planted between your eyes," a second voice echoes from the room beyond the door, lower and less fearful than the first. GM: All good - I presume I am now good to start interacting? Also, unless the group give a sufficient explanation as to who they are (i.e. that they are from the village/conducting a rescue), Ka'narg has a crossbow trained at the door and will shoot the moment it opens. Ka'narg looks over the finely crafted double axe, noting the maker's mark and grinning wryly to himself. He sets down his fathers axe on the table and nods to Jaer. "Agreed - both in gold as well as sentiment." The half-orc looks over at his companions, each testing their own new weapons. The grin on his face fades slowly, replaced by grim determination. Ka'narg looks at Keshy and nods slightly. "Could be right there. Perhaps it interacts with the water to trigger something? Either way, if the water is safe, we can maybe refill our waterskins here." As Illya investigates the fountain, the half-orc approaches. "Could be old, maybe? Or the new inhabitants of this place have decided to redecorate in here as well," Ka'narg says, as he begins to search around the fountain to see if the head of the statue is still in the room.
