Description:
Ka'narg is a tall, broad-chested half-orc with leathery green-grey skin, dark brown hair and a full beard that doesn't appear to have seen a razor any time in its existence. His dark eyes betray the wisdom of experience gained from turmoil, along with the knowledge that after the worst storms have passed the sun will eventually shine again if one just has the patience to weather it's fury out. He wears a suit of dulled steel scale mail, and in his hands he carries a double-bladed axe.
Personality:
Not exactly known for his social graces, Ka'narg's manner can come across to those that don't know him well as being churlish or ornery. Those that do know him find him to be a thoughtful and practical man who sees little reason to beat around the bush as it were. He carries with him the regret and shame of hiding while his father tried to protect him, and seeks to do his father's memory proud with his own courage.
Background:
Ka'narg's upbringing was like weather his father had taught him was a gift from Gozreh - mostly calm, punctuated by great and furious tempests. His mother had died during childbirth, while his father was killed in an attack from Molthune soldiers when he was twelve as he hid beneath the floorboards of their cottage. After the soldiers had gone, Ka'narg knelt by his father's body to discover that the older half-orc man was still alive, albeit by the barest thread. He pressed his wooden holy symbol into his son's hand, and told him to take his ancestor's weapon and whatever belongings he could carry and make his way to Kassen to seek out Armana - a friend from the wars whom he could trust to the task of finishing his training.
After setting a funeral pyre for his father, he took up his father's double-headed axe as well as any supplies he could stuff into a backpack and left to do as he was bid. Ka'narg stumbled into Kassen, exhausted and mumbling the name 'Armana' in his delirium. He woke a couple of days later in the experienced ranger's hut, who first chided him on not having more essential supplies before asking why her name was the only thing he had said before collapsing. When he told her of his father's passing, she grimly took him under her wing and taught him of the skills it took to be a ranger, as well as a few tricks she had picked up in her time in the war against Molthune.
After a few years had passed, and Ka'narg had grown to become a capable warrior under the irritable woman's tutelage, she suggested that it was time for him to undertake his rite of passage and told him of the town's idea to send a group of would-be adventurers to undertake the Quest of the Everflame.
