Luis Loza confirmed in today's Paizo LIVE! that the dragon on the cover is in fact a Cinder Dragon. And as his spoiler for the segment, he's said that we'll get stats for the Cinder Dragon before the end of 2025!

(So, likely, stats for the Cinder Dragon won't be in *this* book, but in a future book to come out in 2025).

Dragon book, maybe?

(nexus seems to have missed book had two versions of Lissala, the ancient version and modern version)

Yep... some data is free like on AoN.

I will them know about Lissala's second.

So no mention of Naderi in the book? Did she wander into the Hole of Disappearance along with the Egyptians or what?

Naderi is probably in a supplement. I see her in the table in the Nexus version of Divine Mysteries and here https://app.demiplane.com/nexus/pathfinder2e/deities/naderi-rm

The Osirian gods are also in it as well.. so yeah...a supplement.

The Nexus version of Divine Mysteries is a bit extra cost.. though if you have the Paizo pdf you pay less than if you do not. If you purchase books at Nexus, you get the pdf as well.

That said, you can find the info from the table on this link as well. https://app.demiplane.com/nexus/pathfinder2e/deities or specifically https://app.demiplane.com/nexus/pathfinder2e/deities/naderi-rm and https://app.demiplane.com/nexus/pathfinder2e/deities/milani-rm

Nope, no sign of her...I suspect it might be because of what she's the goddess OF, and the risk of portraying that as glamorous or romantic...
It kinda seems like they could have just emphasized her nature as goddess of tragedy and grief, if they really did remove her completely that seems confusing.

Naderi is in there.

So try that, it might work for you too.

For me it gets stuck on personalizing.. so that link never comes up.

I really wish the samsaran was a versatile heritage, mostly to make the options it would open up in Starfinder 2E. It seems really limiting that only human/humanoids would be able to begin a cycle of earthly reincarnations. In Starfinder it would be pretty cool if you could have samsaran from all the various galactic cultures and heritages.

Samsarans are just humanoids that reincarnate as part of their life cycle as long as they maintain harmony. Basically they become their own child. There is nothing to say there can be no other reincarnating ancestries, but Samsarans are their own thing. I do think a reincarnation versatile heritage would be neat though.

Awesome!

And now I'm all curious about whether elemental 'wood' type dragons could exist as a part of a current paradigm, or be their own 'five man band' with cruel shrike-like Thorn Dragons, symbiotic-swarm-controlling Acacia Dragons, sinuous aquatic Kelp Dragons and ginormous, but ponderous, Redwood Dragons...

So many options!

Fungal Dragons scratch my itch too. Though Roll for Combat at least already has one of those, so that's nice.

Hard to say if this post will be considered on or off-topic....

Honestly, when a High Seas book comes, Aquatic Elves should be a separate thing as well so you can have separate heritages for them rather than a single one added to the landlubbers... and also versatile... Maybe even including a Darklands Aquatic Elf heritage for Aquatic Drow.

I want a martial that does crazy weird things with special attacks and stances too. Less a concrete class idea and more just a general want.

Ancestries: Wyvaran, Stheno.

Class options: I want them to exist in general, pretty please. Like g$*#$!n the Investigator is two years old and it's got one new feat (and it's a capstone).

Give me a psychic detective investigator. A TWF magus.... maybe a feat for sparkling targe magi who use the shield spell. Gimme a weird aberration barbarian. And a weird aberration summoner. Also literally any other arcane witch patron please.

I'm onboard with basically all of this! I do think the 2e Shaman might end up in the Medium design space you mention, but I'm very eager to see both in some form.

Part of me is holding out hope for Wyvarans to sneak into LOIL somewhere, but I think we would've heard about such a thing by now... we'll find out soon enough. If they aren't mentioned there, I feel comfortable thinking they've been removed from canon.

An occult/psychic Methodology is painfully overdue. I'd gladly welcome Aberration Sorcerers, especially once Synthesists make their return.

If they do a book on Dragons in the Book of the Dead style... that would probably be a great place for Wyvarans.

I'd be curious to see what's actually new and different with their take on dwarves here. Giving each clan a "theme" is nice and makes for good storytelling, but I feel that it hardly expands what it means to be a dwarf. If anything, this feels more like dwarven society is bounded like a caste system. How will that play in Paizo's usually diverse and opportune-rich world?

It's mentioned in the Wargamer articles that non Dwarves can join a clan, and dwarves born in a clan can join another. So there are clans, but the opportunity to switch is always there.

I wonder what they do with the dagger. Probable that they keep the original dagger, but change the stone to fit the new clan? Or create a new scabbard that denote the new clan? Both would still keep some root of the origin of the dwarf, while still honoring the new clan. :O

Yeah... seems more like Clan-Guilds than Clan-Castes.

It would be nice to see a "universal" ancestry feat that anyone can take to pick up a Clan Dagger. (Or at least a way to access clan daggers if you are not a dwarf... even if it isn't as a feat)

I would've liked maybe a Cities-of-Golarion style book about multiple locations but attention to dwarves is never a bad thing.

Well.... a single bazaar got an entire splat previously and this does seem to include info on many clans, ancestry things, Dwarven equipment, Dwarven pantheon... etc...

I'd love to keep the conversation going, but let's bring back the focus on the Firebrands here.

Here's something that might get people talking: Like with Knights of Lastwall, this book features a number of deity entries that fit with the themes of the organizations. Some of these gods are getting stats for the first time. Who could they be?!

Established gods I would expect to see: Calistria, Cayden Cailean, Desna, and maybe Sarenrae for the Core and Besmara, Chaldira, and Milani for other gods. I am very interested in seeing who else shows up.

Lubaiko?

Then that's on you bud. They were very clear about how everything worked leading up to this. You chose to buy the PDF instead of just buying the module.

I don't think you understand. I bought the pdf and then the Foundry module, and SAVED money by doing so. This is Paizo telling customers who already own the AP that the correct way to buy their Foundry product is to first buy the collected pdf that they don't need or want.

I've said, and continue to say, that this policy feels predatory and not customer-friendly. That we shouldn't have to buy something we don't want in order to get something we do.

In response we've been told in this thread that the technology only allows a discount for owners of the single collected pdf, as if it was an unfortunate side effect. Then that it was actually the policy all along to only include a discount for buying the newest release. Then we're told that what we're actually paying for is the amount of time and effort that went into the Foundry module, and that the collected pdf is thrown is as a bonus that you aren't really paying for. And now we've been told that "significant work" involving "just about every department" was put into the collected pdf so it has value on its own.

The previous version is basically available for free on Foundry, as far as I can tell.

The collected version is a separate product and the premium Foundry module is related to that.

You are acting as if ownership of the previous version of the adventure path entitles you in regards to a completely different product.

I spent at least $40 per book for the first 3 books (with shipping) totalling around $120. Then I also spent €50 for the hardcover, and now I'm supposed to pay another $59 for foundry? Nobody expects you to pay for the foundry version if its not a product you need. If its a product you need, and you don't own the collected version pdf... then you don't own the product attached to the foundry version for the discount.

I have the original 3 pdfs. I have the collected version pdf. I assure you that they are different products.

Mechanically it's a summoning spell. The description is not of a summoning spell. So you are actually creating undead. You are dredging it up from nearby. So you are still stealing or abusing a corpse.. which I'd argue is evil... even mechanically it is not.

Anyway... I don't want to derail the thread.

Ahem, the Grim Harvestman sees that the writers have purposefully left him out of this print, and denied him his place among the Deities of the lost and forlorn souls who stalk the world of the living in undeath.

The dragon disciple fix actually makes me want to play a dragon monk. And that's saying a lot if you read these forums !

Too bad dragon monk doesn't qualify for dragon disciple access without being a kobold, having a dragon barbarian archetype or a dragon sorc archetype (unless the errata changed that too).

Honestly the archetype seems pretty pointless now outside of kobolds. Barbarian doesn't really want anything from it. Sorc doesn't want anything from it.

Kobolds can use it on casters and monks but if you're taking it just to cap AC, sentinel does it at level 2 for non-monks and monks outgrow it at 10 (much like with druid wild shape). Str monks still need three boosts in dex to cap AC so it's not like you can just dump it and boost something else either. The kobold con flaw is just the cherry on top.

I mean... it may be pointless to those who min/max.... but not if you have a certain character in your head that just seems fun to you...

And I say that not generally being a fan of dragony things aside from kobolds. (Well... the new Battlezoo Dragons book has me rethinking that stance a bit.)

Speaking of Zombie Lords, has there been any word on their possible appearance within this book?

The key difference here is we had no idea the Shisk, Goloma, or Conrasu even existed before their introduction in Mwangi Expanse. And with their history larelgy being tied to that region, it wouldn't have made sense to put them in a different book. In this case, we KNOW the Kashrishi and Ratajin are from Vudra; our first hint of then being in the Vudra backmatter article in AoE. I don't expect a solid full-on book for mainland Vudra anytime soon. So introducing the Kashrishi and Ratajin in Jalmeray, which is basically Vudran territory, makes sense to me.

Course, I could be very wrong and we could see something unheard of (like the aforementioned three in ME) or even some random additions who's relation to these regions as unknown until the book releases.

EDIT: Mortics would be more prevalent in the Gravelands.

Actually, it is a very similar situation... Shisk, Goloma, and Conrasu were name-dropped in a previous book before ending up in the Mwangi Expanse. No info beyond names.

Aside from that, I agree. :)

Regarding Mortics. That was where they were introduced. But it may not be the only place they exist. Whether through immigration.... or other sources of creation via necromantic energy.

I get a little worried that each further construct Ancestry hurts the chances for 2e Wyrwoods. It’s probably unfounded, but still.

The Vudran options make a lot of sense for this book, but I do wonder how felt most of that is on the mainland; Jalmeray has always felt pretty separate from both its neighbors and the wider Inner Sea, so I wonder if this book can make them feel like a little less of an island (pun intended).

I have a feeling Wyrwoods would come with an Arcadia book.

I mean, we are all but guranteed to get our third plant ancestry here (ghorans, after leshies and conrasu).

I feel like so long as each one stays distinct in both lore, mechanics, and overall fantasy, I don't think we should worry about there being 'too many' of non-humanoid ancestries.

This would be the first plant ancestry that is an intelligent plant...rather than an aeon with a plant body.. or a spirit of nature with a plant body. So that's pretty distinct.

I thought the downside to accessing the scaling cantrips was that they're still not good enough to replace a pistol?
That's unfortunate.

Two thoughts about the cantrip option.

1. Unlike on-level pistols, they're free. So if you stick to cantrips, you get a huge chunk of change you can spend on other things.

2. The damage is pretty comparable to that of a Vanguard taking the Entropic Shot alternate class feature (which makes the entropic strike ranged). Focusing on EAC-targeting cantrips, their damage compares as follows:

Levels 1-4: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 0 points
Level 5: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 1 point (on average)
Level 6: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 4.5 points (on average)
Levels 7-8: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 2 points (on average)
Level 9: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 5.5 points (on average)
Level 10-11: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 3 points (on average)
Level 12: Vanguard's Entropic Shot is ahead by 6.5 points (on average)

So it's only a smidge behind the Vanguard's Entropic Shot, and the Entropic Shot is one of the Vanguard's major class features. All in all, it looks like a viable option to me.

But Entropic Strike is a terrible trap option! You give up Constitution, half specialization, and eventually Strength to damage in return for range on a class that wants to be up in melee to get hit and dish out attacks of opportunity. It's a gimmick option for gimmick builds, not a serious ability.

Whether or not it is a trap option for Vanguards is moot... you were talking about scaling cantrips.... and it's spellcasters that use those.

Undead always being evil seems to be no longer the case. There is even a rebel ghoul cultist in one of the books that is G. An LG Xulgath Ghoul Assassin. A few other similar situations have been printed.
