Corwin continues to watch the sylph's work above. He points out to Lark where he was headed so that the captain can attempt to rendezvous with Kahuranga as quickly as possible.
His face grows somewhat pale as Lark makes for the rafters. Grumbling about not being able to guarantee his safety, Corwin steps out of their box and tries to figure out the best way to get up towards the lights from where he's at.

Fortunately, since they're in a crowded place, Corwin keeps himself from exclaiming this out loud. As the captain darts out the back, Corwin keeps his eyes on Kahuranga, waiting to see if there's anything he can do to help.

Corwin tries to follow Lark's pointing finger, but decides he'll just have to trust that the captain saw what he saw. "That's a hell of a jump. And I'm not sure those curtains would hold my weight. Maybe yours," he says to Lark. "I recommend Kahuranga fly up and get a closer look. We don't want to cause a scene if it turns out this is actually part of the show." He suspects it isn't, but he's not been to many operas.

Corwin felt much more at home with the Iomedeans that the "witch." Creepy old fart. Still the old man had given them some information. He hoped it was accurate. Fortunately, he doesn't really have to put on too many airs with the pious. Still, best to put on a polite face.

Corwin turns down several outfits arguing that "There's just no room to MOVE in a get up like that, let alone fight." Finally, they find something that he consents to, with a bit more room than is strictly necessary, but that doesn't look like a mu-mu.

Corwin isn't the biggest fan of opera, but he is a stickler about supporting the crew to maintain group cohesiveness. "Box sounds good, Cap'n. I'd rather not deal with tryin' to squeeze in with the crowd."
It also provides a more optimal tactical position should anything go awry.
As they walk towards the market, he comments, "Yeah, I think I'm gonna need some decent threads for this shindig. I'm more of a practical man. Perhaps you could help me pick out an outfit."

not sure if it's fun, but it is interesting. There are these wooden frames with dowels that let you twist the fibers to make cords, and twist the cords together to make rope. Some of them are fancier than others, having a system of pulleys and such, but the simple ones are sufficient.

It's pretty hard for Corwin to keep a smirk off his face the whole time. He appreciates security, but officious twits kinda get to him. Though he's pretty sure each of them are capable, given their job, the only one who impresses him by his attitude is the male guard, whom he gives a nod to. He answers their questions because that's what is required.
When Threnody sings, he laughs a little at the lady questioning her. "She's got a sweet set of pipes, don't she?" He smiles adding, "I bet it's cause of them horns," and steps back laughing.

Corwin takes the red mist in stride, knocking a few heads together when people start shirking their duties because of hunger. "Happy to give you all the knuckle sandwiches you can eat," he growls as he pushes a few of the crew back to their jobs. It doesn't help that Thren and Lark join in, but he's not about to question them.
He does take an interest in the bounties, but only casual. We might not even get to stay here for very long, depending on how strict they are with that Chel thing. "They don't want any Chels in town, but they're happy to have a Chelish opera, huh? Sounds like someone has some issues."

Corwin is happy to leave the terms of the fights to Lark and Thren. He may not be the best at "wrasslin'" that's the way he says it, but he ain't no slouch. it helps that he can use his martial flexibility to adapt to particular situations

Corwin grins at Lark's suggestion. "That sounds like a fine idea, Captain." he says cracking his neck from side to side. "Be nice to get a little exercise."
He'll be happy to sign up for a one on one vs. people, with or without weapons (as long as they aren't to the death). He'd even fight a monster if he got to use at least a big club, if not his sword. But animals are different. He won't fight an animal unless he has no choice. "You have to draw the line somewhere."

Corwin doesn't mind the half-elf taking his hand. And he appreciates the healing. But he doesn't really do prayer. He's not rude, per se, just non-participatory in that kind of thing. He nods his thanks as his wounds seal up and gives him a friendly shoulder-chuck. "It appears," he says to everyone and no one, "we may need to work a bit on tactics, like not rushing headlong into danger when there's someone else there to help take the hits for you." He smiles at Lark and Thren and goes back to doing his work aboard the ship.
In fact, he spends much of that week trying to drill the crew in group tactics. "We're gonna learn about teamwork, people. Knowing your assets and your limitations."
