Male Human Celestial Knight 1
Ah, that'll work out well then, thanks Magic :)
Male Human Celestial Knight 1
Sorry about being gone so long, what I thought would only be a week from my college workload turned into months with barely any me time, now I gotta figure out where exactly to bring Shoshin in
Male Human Celestial Knight 1
Wow, I really didn't expect to be gone as long as I have been, I've missed a lot it seems
Male Human Celestial Knight 1
Hey guys, Sorry I haven't been on in a while :( Between tests and projects I have due later on I haven't had much time for posting here
Male Human Celestial Knight 1
What time of day is it, still before class or is it during now?
Male Human Celestial Knight 1
Uhg, having a splitting headache during the week is not a good idea :(
Male Human Celestial Knight 1
You still thinking about Rakki rooming with Shoshin Magic?

Sounds like me, though I wouldn't call myself a diplomat if I'm an introvert
You're probably misinterpreting introverts.
Introverts can be very social when they want to.
"We should probably mention one more thing. Sociability is often confused with Extraversion, just like shyness is confused with Introversion – this is one of the most common mistakes when it comes to discussing personality types. While Extraverted individuals naturally find it easier to talk to other people (they gain energy when they do this), there are many shy or solitary people among them. Conversely, Introverted types lose energy when they communicate with others, but you would be able to find many eloquent individuals in that group."
That's true, but I'm afraid in my case I'm saying it would be very hard to consider me much of a diplomat for the simple reason that I find it uncomfortable to talk much. I can do hand gestures, or other things, but unless I have to, I don't speak much.

If that theory's true, Burton's a genius for thinking that far ahead
Also, Magic, if you want your tanuki to room with my character, I'm ok with that

Nothing much, sorry I've been away a while, but I was taking my drivers test

Are Ace and the others in the lobby of the infirmary arguing and having breakdowns? or are they in a separate room?
You know, just for the whole accent making me laugh, I'll go with the gargoyle :)
Ok, so I either sneak in with the supplies...or try and find a Russian gargoyle. Tough choice XD
Where would I find the gargoyle?
lynora wrote: Sounds good, CK. One underpowered native kitsune it is. :)
And with that, your character is approved. How would you like to be introduced into gameplay?
Does Avalon get regular supplies from nearby? the way my characters backstory is set up is that he's on the run from his former comrades (a spellcaster and a former paladin), he wouldn't want them finding him so easily, so he would probably be sneaking around.
I'll try not to be an idiot then
The support would be welcomed Genosuke :)

Obviously this variant is significantly more powerful than the Pathfinder version. But this is what we've been using since before the PF version came out. So it's available for your use if you want, CK. If you don't then you'll just be considered really weak in comparison to the other native kitsune. Could make that part of his story if you wanted.
I'll use the PF version, either way would fit with the backstory I've thought up for him, but I'd rather be different ability and story-wise then most, a character seeming weak compared to others makes for a good story after all, depending on if they have the skills to keep going.

Yes, its a single-tailed kitsune
Native if possible
I am going to check the differences between the variant and the PF version tonight then since the variant is the native kitsune. If the difference isn't big then we can just leave it as is. And I will get you some cultural info you will need for background.
But first I gotta update the game thread. :) I believe I used the PF version, no-one linked the variant kitsune. I'll be waiting for the info.

Lol, if you say that it makes me wonder how many kitsune are nearby :)
I fixed the missing CMD and CMB, I also put in the armor class that I had forgotten until yesterday

Good for archers though, given the bonuses. The spell-like abilities help with Witchblade as well, at least as a distraction.
Ok, I think I have my character ready to be looked at, If I'm missing anything tell me.
Shoshin the Fox
It can use almost any weapon, if the character were to get disarmed it'd be better then being proficient with only a few weapons, if I had no other weapons then spells would be necessary
Spells, and other weapons mainly. Always carry at least one other weapon in case you get disarmed
Lord Foul II wrote: So take arcane archer in place of Hexblade levels? Or just have it overlap?
You know Hexblade does have that BAB 1-1 so you don't need fighter to qualify,
There is a ranged magus archetype, and a couple that use Cha
Just trying to help, keep your options open and whatnot
If I am too overbearing and should back off, please tell me, I'm pants at being able to tell that
I'm putting fighter in case the character ever gets disarmed somehow, never hurts to have options, your not being overbearing so don't worry.
Hm, ok, so it should be 16 Witchblade/10 Arcane Archer, 3 Sorcerer, and 3 Fighter. Stretched a little thin, but still workable
EDIT: It says the Witchblade has an Arcane spell list, so Sorcerer won't be necessary
I've decided to play a Witchblade/Arcane Archer and Fighter, I'm more familiar with it, and it'll allow me to save the Baleful Sorcerer as an npc for later.
Ok, well we only became dragons after Tiamat appeared to us and offered to make us stronger. We later poisoned Tiamat, weakened her, and kept our dragon forms because she made us do some pretty evil things. After "death" they were taken away.
I may bring him back actually, the story was left the open-ended "You died" scenario by our GM. my character "dying" on the moon after being teleported and forced into fighting an evil being or something, my friend (the GM) vanishing (because he lost his character sheet ironically), and my other friend "dying" when the bridge we were standing on trying to fight a Duskblade version of Gandalf (complete with "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" line) was blown out causing him to fall into a chasm. With my character being a black dragon and my other friend being a blue, I think I could think of something.
Lord Foul II wrote: I use. this as the pathfinder updated witchblade That fixes a few of the problems I had playing a hexblade, the major one being I couldn't exactly be in the thick of combat or out of it with how the combat worked. Which is why I used a bow, up until the GM decided to fix it by making me a black dragon. that was a good game, sad that that character is dead
FireclawDrake wrote: Take the same class, remove the ability to use other people to cast, and base the idea around self-sacrifice. Seems like a pretty easy fix to me. Takes away the evil part while preserving the class. Good idea, he does regenerate con every hour he rests so it won't be too much of an issue, I wasn't going to have him be completely evil anyway, it just says I can't be lawful or good, never said anything about being neutral towards people. The quote "Sometimes, the only way to stop Evil is not with Good. You must confront it with another kind of Evil" works for what I had in mind with him in terms of the spells he uses.
I've used a hexblade before in my tabletop games, I work well with them. Or at least well enough to kill things with a bow as their freaking out
Ok, I'll think of something else for him to be. Though if I want to use him as a building block, what would your idea's be? Its a good concept, just not the whole evil thing I'd imagine

lynora wrote: Celestial Knight wrote: Ok, I've read the primer
To be honest my idea is a little unorthodox, its a character that uses a not-well-known-class called the Baleful Sorcerer of Tasthagkha (I couldn't pronounce the last word to save my life, but its supposed to be the god of Toads or something). Its a mage that only knows nine powerful spells, but these spells have a particular debilitating drawback, the spells use the mages own life-force (Con score) as fuel. I have the spells and class on hand if you want me to post them. I will need to see the class before I can approve it, and you will have to include either a link to it in your profile, or put all the info in your profile if the class is approved, so that anyone GMing an arc that your character is in can have easy access to the info. The information is on my profile for anyone to view at the moment, I had to proof read it for mistakes though, so if you find any please tell me, apparently my computer doesn't copy pages of my books very well.
EDIT: The spells it mentions weren't copied over, I wrote them down under the same tab a minute ago if you want to give them a look
Hm, well, watching that will be fun
Lang Fei wrote: your no god, I've met some and they never heard of you... Is that being directed at Grim, or Tsathagkha? I'm a little confused here lol
Its a good character thanks to your advice, I'll just have to see what happens, and play with the characters story using my imagination to fill the holes in the classes lore. Serving a demon god isn't good, but for the right reasons, not entirely bad either.
Well, just from looking at it I assume they work together, not much changes from the original class in either case, so if both were used it wouldn't effect too much
Just Mageslayer, I wasn't sure if I could take more than one archetype
I reviewed the archetypes and Warlock just to be sure, I think I'll go with Mage slayer rogue, it give me more options as well as the ability to disrupt other spellcasters. It should help a lot whenever my character is feeling the after-effects of his spells.
Warlock does have more offensive abilities should I need them, the Baleful Sorcerer only has two, the 7th spell Ichorous Inferno, and the 9th Extinguish Life (the spells are also leveled in the same manner in terms of power, but are learned at levels 1-9 as well, they're less powerful at those levels and get stronger as the character progresses, but its confusing).
I'll look into the archetypes before making my decision though.
I'm sorry your having a bad week lynora, I hope it gets better :(
Good advice Foul, I'll think on a second class to even out the character from my point of view. It has Poison Use so maybe rogue will do, with the Deception spell it would even give a master of disguise a run for its money when used properly.
True, however the warning is making me hesitant. It says that once you take this class you will not be able to take a familiar, multiclass, or be of lawful/good nature. Will that be an issue?
Alright, it'll be interesting at least. There's a lot of leeway with what this class can do with its spells that lets the player decide how things will go, three in particular, a fact I'm going to enjoy a lot.
You'll have to wait for the circumstances to be met for what happens, I'm not spoiling a thing until then, mostly because even I don't have a plan for it yet lol.
