I couldn't elegantly work in how Castor first got involved. In short, he approached one of the Lord Mayor's recruiters, but merely to offer a blessing of luck to the trip. They all but twisted his arm to convince him to join instead, seeing much potential in getting a priest of travel and luck involved. For the record, I often work from home on fridays, so I'll be more active then.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Attempting to gain a hunch of the situation, and generally determine how to avoid provoking anyone with his ignorance. Castor knows nothing of these social protocols, and though his hesitation and clumsy bow pointedly mark him as an outsider to such noble dealings, he thankfully has enough of a read on the actions of his companions to perform some semblance of following along. He waits for his companions to rise before doing so. "I am Castor of the Antares clan, priest of Desna, it is an honor to meet you, Lord Mayor, and I must thank you again for this unexpected opportunity."

"Sirs, sirs, please!" Castor attempts to interpose himself within the dispute, but fails to find hold amidst the rapid back and forth. He attempts similar interjections from various angles, somehow walking a full circle around the two men while still maintaing pace behind Lady Elaine, a true testament to his unusually fast gait. In the end, Aris manages to interject before he can, and he falls back, opting to walk in silence and observe.

Castor follows along with few words, after draining the last few drops of his wine. His gait is very leisurely, as though he was in no hurry to get anywhere, and yet, paradoxically, he seems to be holding back so as not to leave the group in the dust. Arawn's admirations of Elain do not escape his gaze. Tss.

"It is an honor to meet you, Sir Hakashi. A warrior such as you is more than welcome amongst this expedition, I am certain. I hope you will find it to your liking." Castor smiles. "Ah, but again, I forget my manners. I am Castor Antares, devout of the Starsong. I too, have been wandering this regions, though my roots stem from much closer."

A glimmer of light answers the flash. Despite his hesitant, farm-laddish countenance, Castor's gaze towards his interlocutor never falters, in spite of Arawn's intense look. A noble-born lad with some vested interest, perhaps? Hopefully not just a power-thirsty brat. "I see," Castor nods with a knowing smile. "Then I hope you will find the road to your liking, and that you will find what you are missing." -Posted with Wayfinder

"Sirs Vasska and Crowshen," Castor salutes the two men in turn, realizing his earlier omission. "Please forgive my rudeness, I was surprised by our celestial friend's entrance." "I know little of dancing, Miss Tathmir," Castor replies with a smile when Aris raises the possibility, "But I will take my chances if so is your request." Intrigued by Aris speaking poor elven despite her being, as far as he can tell, full-blooded, he makes a mental note to offer to help her strenghten her grasp of the language. "Sir Vasska, if I may ask," Castor turns to Arawn, "You seem quite at home in these high societies, and it intrigues me to see a man such as you preparing to go into the wilderness... Not that I don't believe you must be as capable as any other, of course." Castor backpedals for a moment, afraid to offend. "Has some particular circumstance led you into this charter?" Finally, Castor eyes the offerred root with curiosity, perhaps looking to recognize it. Survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Have we lost Tristan?

Goblins fear writing. I would suggest meaningless symbols like wingdings but that would be tough to do, haha. -Posted with Wayfinder

"Seeker of Evil, is it? A noble name indeed." Castor replies, in hesitant Celestial. "Are you connected to a faith, then? I do not recall a Seeker of Evil in Desnan faith... Cailean, perhaps?" Castor asks, hazarding a guess on the other faith he is passingly familliar with.
Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1
"Oh!" Castor gasps, somewhat surprised that his tale is of any interest. "I'd actually only requested to meet the Lord-Mayor on behalf of my faith, to give the Starsong's blessings of luck upon the mission. I was rather shocked when he asked me to take part. It is still a little hard for me to believe that a task like this has been placed in my hands." "I'll do my best to help see this expedition through, though." I just wish I knew whether or not this was truly my path to take. Shouldn't someone more qualified be in this seat talking to these people?

Castor is at a loss with this unusual new presence, and it is perhaps only the benediction of the stars's luck that keeps him from fumbling his elven wine to the floor. "I was told that we would be a diverse lot indeed, but I must admit I am at a loss. To whom do we owe the honors?" Castor asks, barely managing to refrain from saying "what" instead of "whom". -Posted with Wayfinder

... Whoa! Captain. It's nice to see you again. I, for one, hold no harsh feelings. ^^ I'm definitely willing to go on. In the interest of honesty, I should probably let my fellow players know of my personal experience with a previous campaign with our DM: As far as DMing goes, the game went really well, though it did have the occasional hiatuses. It is as LotW says, though. Real life got in the way of things. I stand by you, GM. I've no issue with hiatuses, I understand that they happen, and PbP is a hobby I'm more than happy to see take some time off when necessary. If nothing else, I simply advise letting your players know when an issue comes up, especially if it's going to take a while. Saying that 'something in real life came up, and I won't be able to post for X time' generally goes over well; reasonable players understand that life gets in the way. I'd gladly add you on Skype, too. My handle there is 'Cydrius'.

A young half-elf, clad in ceremonial Desnan garb on loan from the local temple ambles awkwardly through the party, woefully unfamilliar with such an atmosphere. Finally, he takes a seat alone at a deserted table, hoping for some time to collect himself before the ball begins. Great Dreamer, it is with pride that I accept this path you have set me upon. I promise to guide my future companions to the best of my abilities. Please provide me with guidance, that our quest may come to fruition. He is drawn out of prayer by the approach of another. "Oh! Please forgive me, I hadn't noticed you." the half-elf apologises, gesturing a request to join Aris at her table. "I-I have, indeed," he nods at her mention of the letter, though his answer is uncertain, as though he was still unsure the letter was actually addressed to him. "It's a strange story, actually. I'd only approached the mayor to give-" Castor interrupts himself, pausing for a moment. "My apologies. I shouldn't bore you with such stories. I am Castor, of Clan Antares, devout of the Starsong." He introduces himself, holding his hand out for a respectful handshake.

Oh jeez. That's a horrible situation for everyone involved. I'm glad to hear everything is okay as can be after what happened, and I hope things play out alright for you. Good on you for powering on through, and feel free to take a little more time if you need it. I don't think any of us will hold it against you. I might review Castor's gear a little. It has been brought to my attention that Castor's morningstar and shield really won't do much for him, so I'm going to get something else instead.

Castor had little enough stuff that I think Capella can hold him and his gear. If we need to carry more at some point, Castor walks at 40ft so it wouldn't be much of a hindrance. Is anyone else aiming for a PRC? Castor is heading for Spherewalker. -Posted with Wayfinder
