Male Human (off-worlder)

Please PM me if you ever start this game up again, thanks!

Male Human (off-worlder)

Presence & Convince: 2d6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 + 3 = 10

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce puts up his hands, palms out, in a gesture that's hopefully non-threatening and calming. "Woah, woah, we're not here to harm you or arrest you. What wasn't your fault? We can understand it if you'll just explain it to us."

What would I roll to try and calm someone down?

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce backs up from the chef, to get out of reach of his knife, and says "K-9, stun him!"

This would happen before K-9's immediately previous post, since Talkers go first.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Coordination + Fighting: 2d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 + 3 = 14

I only take 1/2 damage from the mad chef's attack.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Presence + Resolve: 2d6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (4, 5) + 3 + 3 = 15

Pretty good - what does that get me?

Male Human (off-worlder)

Striding thru the door into the kitchen, Bryce says "Where's chef Rhumsea?" loud enough to cut thru the noise of the kitchen. Assuming someone responds, he walks up to him and says "You may not know this, but the dining area is currently being assaulted by many men with guns. Where is Bortu, we need to find him immediately?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce thinks furiously about their options for a few seconds, running different scenarios thru his mind, then says "We don't owe Adrana anything. Let's go find Bortu." And he gets on the elevator, motioning for everyone else to follow. To Crystale he says "What button is the kitchen?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce isn't going out into a fire-fight empty-handed, he's staying in the room (in his mind that's not cowardice, that's intelligence). And until someone says Luc's name, he has no idea who Adrana's fighting. I think I'm stuck in gameplay until another PC says/does something...

Male Human (off-worlder)

So, we can abandon a potential ally, or help her fight some unknown (as yet) to us opponent? I'm in favor of helping Luc so he'll help us, which means somehow stopping the fire fight between him and Adrana (which might be impossible, depending on Luc), but until Adrana or K-9 says that Luc is around, I can't do anything.

Of course, once K-9 and Ted fire, the point might be moot...

Male Human (off-worlder)

"K-9, go out into the hallway, assess the situation, and use your nose laser to support Adrana if needed."

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce says "Deal", and gives her the command words from his memories of the Admiral.

"We are searching for...something, but we're not sure what it is. This contraption here points us to it, but we could use your firepower to protect us. How well do you know the layout of this place?"

Doctor GM, you've said previously that "Bryce and K-9 have worked out how to use the Temporal Trace Locator", and the last time we used it you didn't make us roll, so I'm assuming that now we just declare that we are using it?

Bryce activates the Temporal Trace Locator, and waits for it to settle on a direction.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Is there a roll in this system to tell if someone it telling the truth or lying?

Male Human (off-worlder)

"If you want to help, why are you pointing a gun at us?" Bryce asks logically.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce grabs the microphone, switches to transmit, and says "Attention all Independent Worlds spaceships! The Restaurant of Remembrance on planet Jaconda is under assault by the warriors of Gol, who are demanding the body of Thunar Hammerlord, or they will kill all the patrons and staff! Please send help as fast as possible!"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce bends over to look at the entry pad. "Hmmm...I might be able to fool this thing..."

Ingenuity + Technology(circuits): 2d6 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (2, 5) + 5 + 5 = 17 SO close!

"Bugger. No such luck. Wait a minute, let me try this..."

Spending a Story Point to turn the Failure into a Success.

"Ah! There we go!" and he sweeps his hand towards the open door, inviting everyone in.

Male Human (off-worlder)

I just recently heard of the "two day rule" - if in the middle of "combat", a player doesn't post within 2 days of the last post, the DM should 'bot them (or, in this case, since we're not actually fighting, move on).

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce says, with urgency in his voice "There's a band of mercenaries who just broke in downstairs and are shooting up the place! We could really use your fighting skills down there right now!", pointing towards the door we just came thru.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce immediately put his hands in the air, and whispers to Crystale "Exactly why did you bring us into *this* room???".

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce follows Ted's path from table to table :

Ingenuity + Coordination: 2d6 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 5 + 4 = 13

Male Human (off-worlder)

Awareness + Presence: 2d6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 + 3 = 9

Ingenuity + Knowledge: 2d6 + 5 + 0 ⇒ (6, 2) + 5 + 0 = 13

Bryce shouts at the waitress over the din "If we can find an interstellar communications station, we can call in the Marines! Do you happen to know where one is?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

I can't remember, do we know the name of the person that we just...whose memories we just sampled?

Male Human (off-worlder)

As Bryce is experiencing the Admiral's memories, he's immediately concerned about the codewords and the staging ground. "Oh, great, now we've got classified memories! I wonder how long it will take for people to start coming after us..." as the roof literally falls in on them.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Sorry to hear work is so overwhelming. I check Gameplay and Discussion every day, so I'm ready to jump back in as soon as you are. But if you're going to be away for more than a week, it might be a good idea to PM each of us once you start posting again.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce says "We brought in a...friend, we would like to 'savor' his memories, please."

Male Human (off-worlder)

Ok, I'm stuck. We can't get upstairs where the trace appears to be coming from without getting a private dining room or excelsior service. I'm not very good with "figure out what to do scenarios", anyone have any ideas?

Male Human (off-worlder)

Standing up (I missed the GM's note of waitress waiting behind the hostess, I thought the hostess was the waitress) and wandering thru the dining area, in the general direction of the upgoing stairs.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce motions to Ted and K-9 to follow him, casually stands up from the table, and wanders around the area, gradually heading towards the upward-going stairs...

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce says "Hello, Kldra, my name's Bryce and this is Ted. Oh, and this is my robotic dog, K-9. I think we'll need some time to go over the menu before we order, thanks!"

After she leaves, he says "Well, let's see if we can just go up the stairs, now that we're in here. Anyone else have a better idea?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce waves to the maitre d' indicating that they're ready to be taken into the dining area.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce follows.

Male Human (off-worlder)

Do we see any stairways or elevators? If not...

"K-9, can you find any stairways or elevators nearby?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

"So, what do we do now? K-9, you've been unusually quiet lately, what can your scans tell us about this place?"

Can we use the temporal trace detector here without attracting *too* much attention? If so, where does it point?

Male Human (off-worlder)

If anyone else would like to suggest a different plan of action, I'd like to request to the GM that their suggestions be ret-conned in before the maitre d's question, since only 9 real-life hours elapsed between my post and his, just a blink of an eye in PbP time...

Bryce says "Um, unfortunately our spaceliner fed us a meal just before we landed, so we'd like to take some time to just look around if we could. Can you put our...package...into cold storage in the meantime?"

What's the dress-code of the patrons inside? Are there all types of clothing, or is everyone in fancy evening dress and we stick out like a sore thumb?

Male Human (off-worlder)

"Why would she entrust corporate secrets and embezzled money to a group of total strangers? This seems wrong...

I would suggest that we use her reservation to get in so we can look around, then contact her over that earbud and tell her the Admiral is here waiting for her to process him."

Male Human (off-worlder)

Bryce opens his mouth to call after her, but she disappears into the crowd too quickly.

"I don't like the smell of this - we could be being set up for something."

Male Human (off-worlder)

I'm confused - the employee first said that the restaurant only opened a year ago, but in the last post he says that it opened a year after an event that happened 100 years ago???

"Thank you, sir." Bryce motions the group away from the employee and says quietly "Well, we could go back in time and make a reservation for today and then come back, or we could talk to people and see if there's some way we can get in without being patrons of the restaurant. Not being a people-person myself, the rest of you would have to do the talking. Thoughts?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

"How long before you opened were you accepting reservations? And, what's with all the coffins?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

I keep forgetting we have access to a bloody TIME MACHINE! :)

Bryce asks the employee "Typically how far in advance does one have to make a reservation for this place?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Drat, I wished I'd thought to ask the Doctor if I could borrow his psychic paper...could I spend a story point to have retroactively done so? :)

Male Human (off-worlder)

"Well, let's get started for the dome."

Male Human (off-worlder)

"But Doctor, as I understand the nature of time, couldn't the Master be behind these events, but doing them at a point in his life *before* you saw him die?"

To the group, Bryce points to the dome and says "Well, shall we?".

Male Human (off-worlder)

Wow, I'd totally forgotten that we had the Doctor on-call! Good to remember for the future...
I've got nothing special to say or do until we get to our new location.

Male Human (off-worlder)

I may be confused because it's been so long, but didn't we take the blue-box TARDIS to get here? And what's that about "After knocking on the door, the Doctor opens it"? Which Doctor is it?

Male Human (off-worlder)

"Ok, well - back to the TARDIS, everyone?" Bryce asks.

Male Human (off-worlder)

"We should at least try to contact the Doctor in this time, and see if he has any insights as to what's going on. Brigadier, can you provide transportation to and from the hospital?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

"Ted, that would be a good description of the Master. I never met him before now, but from the stories the Doctor told me, that sounds very apt."

Male Human (off-worlder)

"Yes, very much! How long ago was he there that you last knew of?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Sorry, I forgot how we got in here (it was so long ago IRL). Since other new stuff has happened, I'd like to retract it.

While Kyle is in his trance, after Bryce and K-9 have looked at the Temporal Trace Locator, Bryce says "So, K-9, what do you think? Was the Axionite the sole source of the temporal trace, or do you think that chunk is somehow connected to the Doctor? Should we take it with us?"

Male Human (off-worlder)

Awareness + Presence: 2d6 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (4, 6) + 3 + 3 = 16

Resolve + Survival: 2d6 + 2d6 + 3 + 0 ⇒ (5, 6) + (4, 5) + 3 + 0 = 23

Bryce tries to shout over the din "The launch has been aborted! Everyone, let's get out of here the way we came in!"
