But in fairness LazarX nor was he an anthropomorphic lion, I do not think the OP is concerned about the historical accuracy of the situation :) I might consider Taldor, but you would need to make a few changes. Maybe you could be anti Stavian III and want his daughter Eutropia to take the throne? Stavian Info Here

The illusion in question is a figment, and not a shadow, to my mind although you can hit a figment - AC 10+size modifier - you would still not touch it because it is to quote the figment rules under illusion "figments and glamers are unreal".
You are going to find this frustrating and unplayable in most games. You would be better off playing an Oracle, as Gregory suggests, or a Sylvan Sorcerer to get an animal companion and make use of that high charisma. You would quickly find that to keep none animal companion animals competitive you will need to go first large then huge, and since many adventures are indoors you would find yourself a charming waste of space.
Muesello shrugs, "I feel it is better left to your discretion, I do not know what you might find and do not wish to limit your search. And again your patron does not have a specific document in mind, but seeks well I shall let you read the letter." He withdraws a scroll tube and starts to open it. "Your benefactor left us with two letters. The first is a letter of invitation to examine the rare books collection. The second...well, I'll let you read it", Muesello says. Patron's Letter wrote:

Ah, well that is reassuring, I would still not be interested in your game, but its nice to know the whimsy is diluted, and again all that matters is that it is fun for you and your players. If you have had them for twelve sessions and your palyers critique was in response to requested feedback then it seems like there is little to worry about and you just need to try to tone things down a little. @Te'Shen twisted unicorns actually sounds quite cool, but the example given was Lawyer Lichs on undead unicorns on a working holiday, which is far less so.

It does not sound like that to me at all, and that is only with the OPs presumably biased view - even with the best will in the world its hard to give both sides of a story fairly when you are squarely on one. The fact is that groups are often hard to come by and its very likely, to my mind, that some of the players are suffering through this in polite silence. The best thing to do IMO, would be to pitch a couple of possible plot lines in blurb mode, one with a cup cake baking showdown and one with a climactic battle against a proper villain and see which one the players go for. The fact is though you find Paizo's adventures lacking in whimsy they have a far better idea than you do waht is popular, take a look at the ratings of scenarios, those with "whimsy" tend to be low marked. Whimsical concepts can be fun, but they tend to be polarizing, and for the most part people only want a dash of whimsy not for the game to devolve into silliness. If your players enjoy the game and everyone has fun that is the main thing. But this thread was created because that is not the case for at least one, and I would be pretty astonished if it was not a more prevalent view amongst your players.
Honestly your new proposals sound just as bad, how about the Lich does not need to ride a Unicorn Undead or not because he is a powerful spellcasting nightmare? Heck have him ride a Nightmare, at least that has useful and thematic abilities. Just because he is evil does not mean he has to be one dimensional. Think Darth Vader, he is connected to the other villains, has complex motivations, and is a scary badass, not a cupcake baking joke. Hags that are luring children into the forest for a ritual to empower themselves, or to create some twisted monstrosity melded together from those childrens flesh are far cooler than hags having a bakeoff. Aboleths are supposed to be other, they are betentacled horrors with great intelligence and the power to use their slime to breed scaly Skum servitors from the wombs of human women. They are master schemers who dream of taking over the world again. Having them organize a cooking contest with surface being devalues them and will potentially ruin their mythos for those involved in your game. Probably my favorite DnD/PF monster. For the record I think Adventure Time is great, but the Lich is genuinely scary, and silliness is an inbuilt expectation - and rarely taken to the levels described in this campaign.
It sounds more like Ponyfinder than Pathfinder, subverting expectations is all well and good but if players come to the game because of those expectations you are pulling a bait and switch. I would not be interested in a game with all of these elements, though I do encourage connections between NPCs. I think the solution is pretty simple, think would I see this in a professionally published adventure. I have encountered a Calzone golem previously in professional material - was not very impressed - so there is some room for whimsy, but cupcake baking giants are ridiculous and immersion ruining for me. If your players want Lord of the Rings and you are running a children cartoon you have a serious problem. Pathfinder and DnD default to serious worlds, your game sounds like Piers Anthony's Xanth than Game of Thrones and I suspect most players want something tonally closer to the later.
I feel like I am missing something obvious, but where exactly is Security locker A23? Running a PBP and they have found the reference to it, but I cannot seem to see where it actually is. Got a throbbing headache so I am sure I am just missing it, but if anyone could point it out I would be most appreciative :)
The conversion stuff can get old though, in PBP it can potentially slow things down, from their already glacial pace, as you probably ought to RP giving everything a chance to surrender and repent. I do love Sarenrae, and have a former Molochian torturer who is a cleric of her - I find him greatly entertaining, not sure about everybody else :)
I typically use a screen capture tool to snip the maps edit them in photoshop - GIMP is a good free program that can be used for the same purpose - to remove things only the GM should see using the clone tool and then put them up in google docs as a drawing. Load player tokens to the drawing set share setting so those with the link can edit and everyone can move thier own tokens.
@Zizazat dodge is just a bit of a meh feat, your hp still seems to incorporate toughness and then some - it should be 9 or 10 by my count depending on favoured class bonus. Even with toughness I only get 13 at best. And if you are going to choose your animal companion on a power basis wolf would not be my pick - I love my Roc and my Velociraptor. There is an excellent AC comparison list in a blog that I will spoiler below, I would suggest picking the highest you like flavor wise. If you still want to take huntmaster small cat is probably better than wolf at all levels certainly the low ones, and while its not as tough as large companions you will never have squeezing issues. AC Comparison: Using some tediously long analysis derived from Challenging Challenge Ratings, I've ranked stats, attributes, abilities and whatnot of all of the animal companions. Then with some magical spreadsheet work I've come up with their CR value at their different evolutionary stages. Be prepared for long lists!

Makes sense to me, everyone who gets to high level has to consume a huge amount of lower level content, it has to be a pyramid with the higher level tip much smaller than the supporting scenarios. I hope to one day get there, but as I only play PBP it will likely take many years, by which time I am sure there will be a few more options :)
Your rogue is so jealous of other classes he turns green and gets stronger... no wait that's the alchemist, what can rogues do again? Your Faction Leader is so slutty she could make a succubus blush. Your Empire is so decadent there national sport is inbreeding. Your Faction leader is so crooked Grand Master Torch would not play him at poker.
Winds biggest problem is that its revelations are not great at 1st level IMO, my Winds Oracle is dual cursed. But by 3rd level you essentially get 3 invisibility spells per day, which is great, then at 7th you get flight at an excellent flight ability. Makes for a great buffer or summoner. The damage dealing revelations are mostly a bit disappointing - universally not just in Wind - but Touch of Electricity is great at low levels because you get loads of uses. Sadly its a bit worthless from 3-11. But this being PFS you could take it for the first 3 scenarios and then drop it in favor of Air Barrier or Lightening Breath. Really its a personal preference thing I feel Time's revelations are better at low levels, but for my money Wind is more evocative - a lot of times effects are excellent but hard to visualize and just not as cool as shooting lightening flying and going invisible :)
Certinly not philosophically opposed to DnD Next, but I am not expecting much, I played 4th edition for about sixth months and did not enjoy it, but I loved 3.5. Not much I hsve heard makes me excited about DnD next and a great deal makes me wary, but I'll listen to reviews and perhaps try it - I doubt that will cut into my PFS play.
Summoners get early entry haste so we will have access to it - and from 4th level onwards it will probably be how I start combats. I would say pick the mystery you think is most fun, time is strong, but I am a big fan of Wind. Had you considered the Legalistic curse? It basically is not a curse. GM Derek W what about an alchemist? Bombs are the other other ranged option of choice, and when you get the discovery that allows others to drink your extracts you make an amazing buffer to.
