Brix curses himself for forgetting to grab a flying potion for Salliss earlier as he steps forwards towards the ritual circle. The goblin crouches down. He starts to draw on the bits of Occult know-how he's picked up over the years, but he can't focus. Instead his anger keeps bubbling up. Anger at Zarta's weird coyness - even now! - about what they seem to know or have known about this demon lord. Anger at Hesla and how she decided mass-murder and conquering was an easier endgame than just sharing her plan with any of the dozens of groups who would have gladly helped her. Anger at how the city authorities seem happy to leave handling the arrest of a fraudulent international terrorist to the Society, but also so eager to blame us if the problem they kicked over to us to handle got handled the 'wrong way'. But moslty anger at the looming demon lord itself. Killing so many - driving others to kill against their nature and damning themselves in the process - all for nothing but sadistic glee. Brix feels that anger boil over. And channels that rage into a honed point to be sent directly into Ingalor's throat. Initimdation: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (15) + 24 = 39

Wield? Brix looks at the scythe in his hand. You mean actually stab him in the head with this? He turns to Zarta How 'bound' is your magic gonna make this thing? Because if this is an honest-to-Gods demon lord brought back to life - which we still don't even know how Hesla got that to happen by the way so who knows what other surprises she might've built in there - I'm not sure how any of us will be able to even get close enough before we're swatted away.

Aside based on the IC 'what do you call out' discussion that made me think of this: I once had a goblin caster who would consistently mis-name spells based on what they should be called. I.E. when he uses a 3rd-level spell to create a massive spherical eruption of fire, clearly that's a 'flaming sphere'.

Brix mildly surprised one of his colleagues bothered reviving her - she’s being brought to the authorities anyway and a conscious prisoner just increases the chance of trouble glares at her. And you’re ‘cause’ is what exactly? Using demons to crush some places until they make you queen? OOC I actually am curious to hear what she would describe as her cause/plan here - Brix and Zoomba are still fuzzy on making sense of even her version of ’why’ Well, that went about as well as it did every time anyone else thought of it: poorly. So you can keep ranting to us if you want but it’ll just be more evidence for the trial. And fighting back now still’s just more on the pile. So I’d suggest shutting up and acting calm until you get to your cell. Maybe hold it in for your lawyer. Heard you were flirting about with a lot of big shots in the city; sure there’s no way they’re the types who’ll drop you like a stone after what you’ve done. Intimidation: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (10) + 24 = 34

Brix's eyes widen behind his mask as he notices too late Hobbs' intent. Freezing for a moment as juice drips down the venture-captains face, he whirls at the wizard. {In Goblin} 'What are you doing?!?!? You're acting as impulsive as the stories paint us as! He was our ally, cooperating, one of our bosses. And more importantly, he did not sign the friendly-fire release!' Yeah, but most of that was out in the cold. Brix explains to Pip as he accepts her card. Got recruited in by an old VC along with some of my tribe to do some scouting about in Irrisen. Guess you'd call it 'Field Commissioning' now, but back then it wasn't exactly common for any group to not mind working with goblins and the work seemed fine so I hopped aboard. Brix moves over to the table to grab an apple himself. He munches on it while he continues. 'Course then we didn't hear much from that Captain for a loooong while. Didn't think too much of it, stories get passed around about Pathfinders they're always going off the gird for ages at a time. But by '19 I finally got worried enough to make my way to a Lodge and check in. mmmm, good fruit spread 'Finders there were mighty surprised, but still had my papers so got checked in. Been a lot more regular sorta work since then. Brix finishes off the apple, smacking his lips. It is funny though. I mean by that time I think you all were getting more and more gobs involved. he smiles again at Hobbs, but they sure did seem all in a bother, whisperin' and messagin' when they saw my recuruitment papers and the signatures. Never did give me a clear answer on what happened to good old Catain Hestram either... Brix has the 'Shadow Lodge Defector' background :p

I too late? grunts a light-furred goblin rushing into the lodge. A clacking sound of various daggers, knives, and other items dangling from straps and sheaths echoes as he moves. Sorry. First mission back after a well-deserved break's a bad one to miss the clock for. As he catches his breath, the goblin's face winces slightly as he massages his joints. Oof, I'm gettin' old. Just hit my 15th year as a Pathfinder ya know? Sometimes start to wonder how many I got left. Looking around, he nods to his fellow goblin and puts out a hand in greeting towards them and the others. Anyway, name's Brix. Pleasure.

Dotting in! Definitely need to update Brix's profile on the Paizo site, and will try to do so tomorrow. As far as friendly fire, Brix is (generally) fine with it so long as its for a tactical reason - not just because the local wizard wants to chuck a fireball at him just to see if he can dodge it :p
A stocky goblin in leather armor leans against the wall of the lodge. Sheathed at his side are two weapons: a cold iron dagger, and a jagged dagger that seems to glisten with a greenish sheen. He steps forward and you notice something strange about him: while one of his eyes is the expected red, the other is a light green shade. Hmph. Name's Brix. Brix Frostfur. And tell you what: I'm a bit tired of all these new agents staring at me like I'm some sorta quirky new hire. Been a Pathfinder since 4710, going on a decade now! Got recruited by a Venture Captain himself: Adril Hestram! The goblin takes out a piece of parchment from his pack and proudly displays it. First mission was to head out into the wilds and scout and wait, so I did. Got good at scouting, hiding, surviving on my own. Had to patch myself up, hunt my own food, but I did it as well as anyone. And waited. And waited. Then some decade later a few green Pathfinders come across me, let me know Hestram seems to have forgotten to actually file the paperwork, and bring me back in 'from the cold'. Brix shakes his head. Gotta say don't mind the cold. I mean so far it's been nice heading all over. Different sights to see, things to do: never thought I'd get all the way to Jalmeray and Nex in my life. Just wish I could get these Pathfinders to stop relying too much on their horses. They'll turn on you in a second: running away, panicking into a pit, becoming a skeleton. Even in the desert they try to use tumor horses camels and act like it's all normal. The goblin shudders. Fools... |
