Female Gnome Commoner/1
Standing in the road outside her inn, Besh kicks the dirt, still in a bit of a huff that they've been escorted outside. The two guards have taken positions on either side of the doorway. Besh turns to the others and says quietly, "I'm not just going to wait here, who wants to go for a walk?" Sense Motive DC 15: She walks down a block and turns the corner.
Besh is clearly not just "going for a walk" she's up to something/has a plan Something you should know about my GM style is very player driven. If you want to sit there all day and never do anything, that's on you, haha.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Besh looks disgusted at the idea of someone "escorting" her from her parent's inn, her own home. But she understands that the cost of one degree of safety is the same degree of freedom. So she follows the caravan out the door, quickly grabbing the Morningstar from behind the bar, and slipping it onto her belt before she leaves. If the guards ask, she intends to explain that it's worth a bit of gold, and she'd rather it weren't stolen.

Besh stares up into the sky to where the masked man seems to have disappeared, and covers the victim from no one in particular as they bring them into the inn. "Straight past the bar, first door on the left. I'll bring some water..." She trots to the bar, puts the Morningstar back, and floods a tankard with water, before hurrying back to the room.

sorry for the delay At the sound of the explosion, Besh instinctively ducks behind the bar, and grasps the gnome-sized Morningstar she's used to break up many a drunken brawl. When she hears there's someone collapsed outside, she feared it may be one of her beloved neighbors. She looks back at Fijit, who nods to her in agreement that she should go with the others to check it out. Besh has to fight her survival instincts in order to go outside and see who the victim is, not to mention try to help. She tries to ignore the newcomers, not wanting to get involved with their business if she can help it. After seeing the victim: "Can you lot pick her up? We've got an empty bed inside." She sounded a bit surprised at herself for suggesting it, but impatiently awaited answers from her companions all the same.

@Seraphina see the ooc directed at Aelia in the post just before yours...:) "Good day Sera," Besh greets the young daughter of the Dawnflower, "The menu, as always, is chicken, eggs, beans, water, milk, wine, and...beer." She says beer with a cheerful glance at Osmandus. At Aelia's order, Besh tilts her head back to her older sister in the kitchen, "Bread and water for Aelia!" It was a shout for her, but little more than a slight raise of the voice compared with anyone else. "Finally! Someone who isn't trying to get drunk before two!" Fijit sounded back, as she broke off a handful of bread from a fresh loaf and pumped some water from the duct into a tankard, and brought it out to Aelia, "Enjoy, love!"

@Aelia, I know I didn't mention it anywhere but Besh's backstory, and I haven't posted in gameplay yet, but the inn's name is The Blurred Hearth; that is, if you're referring to the same inn we're all in. :) Besh nods to Osmundus first, then to Maelius after he says "The brew first..." she takes a tap off the shelf and stabs it into the oak barrel he'd just rolled in, and lets out pint after pint as the orders come in. She takes the first one to Maelius, leaving the rest on the bar for the non-performing patrons to gather themselves. She pets Huey on the head as she returns to her place behind the bar. She wipes the bar dry and listens to the conversations which fill the tavern of her parents' inn, and smiles.
Dotting with Besh, ignore the profile for now, I'll be adjusting it shortly. Daughter of an innkeeper (commoner); whole family of citizens, parents, older sister, younger brother. She's very passionate about her beliefs, wants, and needs and isn't afraid to go to the ends of the earth to prove it. A personality trait betrayed by her soft voice. I guess you could say she's a doer, not a talker.

A: you can go around the pit without going into the forest (that first circle is a ledge with no grass on it, requires a DC 5 Acro check not to fall in the pit). B: that was Cedany, not Besh Besh vibrates more than shakes her head to let him know that no, she has never heard anything at all like that before. And as the innkeeper's daughter in a frontier town, that scares her listless.
Female Gnome Commoner/1
Besh gets up out of the backpack blushing in embarrassment. "I rather liked the ride, thank you," she says curtsying. "I did come through here, but the pit was considerably..." she puts her hands like two c's closing them in, "...smaller." "And I wouldn't go into this forest," she says with a timid voice, "if the road has a bloody basilisk coming into it, I'd hate to see what comes of the thick." She points there. If you decide to go through the forest: Tyr's first step into the forest he causes a stick to crack loudly. Behind them they hear a echoing growl and snort. The sound stops Besh in her tracks, and she begins trembling.

No apology necessary, it was a valid assumption. That's why I wanted to clarify. Angor:
You sense the pit is unnatural. Cedany:
You remember studying the history of the wars of Taldor, and that the battles for the northern reaches of modern-day Taldor were waged with explosive magic to drive back the uncivilized races. This pit was likely a large crater caused by one such attack...although the fissure doesn't follow that chain of logic... As Tyr approaches the foliage lining the pit, it becomes clear that the line of large, thick trees and under-brush comes right up tot he edge of the pit. "How are we going to get past? Up the tree? Cut down the tree? Walk along the edge of the pit? Go through the pit? What?" Besh's buzzing whisper made it easy for the troup to understand she'd now had plenty of rest and was more than a little excited to be on an adventure. Whether the excitement stemmed from being out of her father's inn or from being in the company of a hero and his wonderful minstrels, no one could tell.

Kn (Arcana) will also give you insight into the nature of the beast Kn (Nature): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 "That's a basilisk!" Besh gasps. "Don't look it straight in the eye!" Knowing it's been seen, the creature attempts to hide itself in the surrounding foliage. GM:
Stealth B: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Perception:
Angor: 1d20 ⇒ 10 Cedany: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Tyr: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Abro is still 25 Lacey is still 11 Tyr & Abro: You see the reptile slink into the larger brush (directly east of you)

"Careful through here, there are all kinds of animals. Not all bad, but not all good either. All this jostling about and orating will let them know we're here. Shame though, I love this story." Angor can feel the small she-gnome's breath warming the back of his neck as she whispers to him. She whispers not out of necessity, but because that's all she has the energy to do. GM only: Perception H1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Perception H2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 H2 rolls up into a ball

@Lacey: Kenya do me a solid and fill the pre-set stuff on your alias profile? helps me keep y'all straight. @Angor: Psst...yes... "Huge, monster...*gasp*...destroying everything...*gasp*...Yanamass," the young gnome passes out from exhaustion after her last words. exhausted condition, asleep It'll probably take at least five people talking to her to wake her up... ;) |
