So, a question on how reporting actually works.
A character dies in a session, and the rest of the party succeeds in the scenario. The dead character's player gets to immediately start a new character, and apply one of the game upgrades to the new character. How is that tracked on chronicles (for the player) and tracking sheets (for the organizer)? I can't report the same player twice on the same tracker, but otherwise, their new character gets a deck upgrade that'll never be collected on a tracking sheet. Is the new character just reported on a single-player failure version of the first tracker? The example of reporting results really needs to include this.
I'm happy to announce that Kevin Hanley has stepped into the role of Venture-Lieutenant for the ACG in St. Louis, Missouri! Now that class decks are easily obtained in our local game stores, and that barrier to entry has dropped, Kevin has ran some very successful card game events. He's very enthusiastic, and it's kind of infectious. Hopefully he'll be able to get the ACG going in a few more stores in our area! If you see him, say hi, and bonus points to you if you help him shuffle the location decks.
I'm happy to announce that Josh Hancock has officially been appointed as an RPG Venture-Lieutenant for St. Louis, Missouri! Josh has been an integral part of our community for years now, and I'm beyond pleased that he wants to step up into the role. He's become a fantastic GM through his time adventuring with us, so hopefully you can catch him at a table at GenCon!
I'm happy to announce that Eric Jackson (CireJack), a long-time member of our community, has successfully earned his 5th star! Eric's really pulled some amazing feats in his pursuit of the final star, including attending multiple conventions on the same weekend, over a hundred miles apart! He's an absolutely pleasure to play with on both sides of the table, and I hope that more of you will have the chance!
I'm happy to announce that our Venture-Lieutenant, Nathan King, has recently achieved his 5th GM star! Quite the accomplishment, especially for someone that only started tabletop gaming back in April of 2012!
I'm pleased to announce that Nathan King is stepping into the role of Venture-Lieutenant for St. Louis, MO!
Since becoming involved with Pathfinder Society in April 2012, Nathan has put an amazing amount of work into the campaign. Not only does he do a fantastic job at convention organizing (like the area saw with his Too Poor for GenCon event last year), but he's also already a 4-star GM!
When a session is reported, a link is provided to the page of each character that was already registered to a player's account.
If the session is edited, though, perhaps to change an erroneous character number, that link is not updated, and still points to the old character's page.
Would it be at all possible to make a player's PFS data downloadable in an easy-to-parse format?
I'm asking because a friend and I are in the process of writing a local database to organize what scenarios have been played, so that we can automatically marshal tables based on who's in attendance. We're meeting a lot of resistance from players who find it too time-consuming to enter in all of their information by hand.
If this isn't possible, I definitely understand, but it would certainly be convenient. :)
How many PCs have you fine GMs killed in the final encounter of The Dalsine Affair?
I was GMing a Tier 6-7 table this week where one PC dropped or died per round, the whole party feeling that a visit with Pharasma was in their near future. I don't seek to kill PCs, but I do roll my dice in the open and let what happens happen. Even if I was the sort to tweak die rolls, there's only so much you can say when that many dice hit the table.
That's two dead in St. Louis. Let's total some numbers, here!

Tressa smiles wide until the young man passes her. Her face turns sour at his back for half a moment before turning back. Maybe we can use this fool boy as bait for any traps that lay ahead."Yes, that would be great, I see you've already noticed that we came from that direction, very perceptive of you," she says, watching him move ahead.
Do you need more Bluff/Diplo rolls. I feel like we should probably have this guy well in hand by this point. Also Charmaine asked about Knowledge rolls for the things he mentioned?
Female Aasimar Oracle 3 HP: 22/22 | AC: 15 T: 13 FF: 12 CMD: 14 | F+1 R+5 W+4 (-1 vs compulsions; increase to -2 if true identity known) | Init -1 | Perception +5, Darkvision 60', Deaf | Touch of Flame: 8/8 | Fire Breath 1/1 |

It's really interesting to see the different reactions to all of this. Like how Talia is protective of Grumblejack, Wocket's luxuriating in all of the power, and Heverly is somewhat in between with a, "Why would you treat a useful tool like that" attitude mixed with indifference and luxuriating. I'm really enjoying this. I think we've got a well rounded group.

Heverly scowls slightly at Tiadora's treatment of Grumblejack, but says nothing. He's been useful so far and may still be useful yet. There is no reason to treat him so poorly. However as the slaves begin to take them to their rooms Heverly visibly relaxes and seems to forget about Grumblejack.
She enters her room and her face just beams. She looks down at her current state and a loud laugh comes fountains out of her. Quite the contrast there. Despite her delight at the strange contrast, she is quick to strip out of the common clothing and to begin washing herself off. She turns to the slave in her room, "Fetch me some food. I have not eaten all day." She continues washing but turns back before the slave leaves, and adds, "and some wine as well. A nice vintage if you please."
Heverly takes her time to make sure that all signs of her recent ordeal are taken care of, even taking a moment to cast a last spell, despite the fact that it is likely not necessary.
Once clean Heverly takes time to dress, luxuriating in the feel of nice, fresh clothing. Though she wonders a little at the fit, How could they have such a perfect fit?
Waving her worries from her mind, Heverly sets herself on the bed and lay down as she waits for the slave to return with food.

Heverly scowls down at the guard, What a weak mess these guards are. Heverly continues to hold on to the man "There, there. Don't worry," she says, stroking his face, "We're not here to hurt you dear. We just want to get out. We don't need to hurt you and we'd be happy to let you live. We just need a bit of help is all."

Heverly gives a flat look at Charmaine, then finally drops her gaze. "Old habits die hard. I've lived a long time with no one knowing who I am, so yes my name is Heverly. I also need to tell you that," she stops, takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly Revealing my name is one thing, but showing weakness another. No it must be done.I am deaf. I cannot hear any of you. In order to understand you, you'll have to make sure I'm looking at your lips. I tell you all this now though, because it seems we are going to need to truly trust each other more than ever." Heverly looks up and looks each of the others in the eye, smiling brightly, "It seems we are really going to escape." She opens her closed hand enough to spread out the thin gossamer veil. "It seems we have a mysterious benefactor who wishes to meet with us, and has sent a woman named Tiadora to help facilitate this meeting. She left me with this and instructions on how to reach this benefactor should we escape." She looks up at the veil, puzzled, "Now, we just need to figure out what it is."
As she examines the veil, she replies to Wocket, "They took me less than a few feet outside the room. There is one room just outside, likely a guard room, but I could not see any of it with the seven men around me, ushering me into the next room over, which is just a small interview room. Table and chairs in there. It's likely as useful to us as our cell."
Do the manacles allow enough movement to use somatic components in a spell? Or enough to pass the veil down the line?
Hey all. Just want to make it clear, Shiiru is very arrogant and may sometimes try to make decisions for the party, but feel free to stop him at any time if you've got different ideas. I can bring him under control (lol).
I'm looking at a wizard, though I'm still trying to figure out the full details for them. I'll be taking some time today to figure that out, though I will say I probably won't post much more today.
BTW: to all those celebrating today, Happy Thanksgiving! And to those who aren't, have a great day anyway.
Here's kind of what I see for relationships with Tree:
@Syeira: I could see us being somewhat friends (or as close a friend as Tree has in Sandpoint). Tree would be quietly fascinated by your Harrow reading, and you're character's personality seems strange enough to be able to get past Tree's stiff mannerisms
@Mitsuko Kaijitsu: Tree would definitely call you by name. I'd imagine though that we'd mostly just be acquaintances and unless you'd heavily insisted, Tree would call you by your full name.
@Rokkad: With it being eight years since you've been, I don't see any way Tree'd know you at all. I think we'll probably just be strangers
@Shalewen: Again, I'd probably only be acquainted with you, our combined awkwardness in social skills would probably keep us from coming together before this.
Now this is all just my impression and I'd welcome suggestions for reworking this to also fit your impression of our relationship. I left Ikoma out of this list for now until you can get a chance to post your introduction and tie-in.
Edit: @DavianGrallus I started writing this before yours was posted, but yeah, that sounds about right. Good luck with your license and I'm excited to get going.
"Baba Yaga is the wild woman or dark lady of magic and in the snowy land of Irrisen, there are many stories about her. The witch queen is fearsome with her iron teeth and a magical chicken-legged hut. Sometimes a foolish and desperate mortal will seek for her help by seeking her hut. But once they enter the hut, they live or die depending on what they say and do and Baba Yaga's fickle will."
I'm looking at starting up a game with the Reign of Winter adventure path. I'm looking for about 5 or 6 players in total, though I've already recruited 3 from this thread. Those who have been selected already include an Aasimar Oracle, a Sylph Skald and an Arctic Elf Sorcerer.
Character Creation:
•1st level
•20 point buy for stats.
•Alignment: As a general rule, no evil. I might be willing to accept an evil character, if you can convince me that your character will work well within a group.
•Race: Any from the Advanced Race Guide. Just make sure it makes sense. Alternate racial traits are fine. If you want variant abilities for aasimar or tiefling, you must roll for it.
•Classes: All paizo. Archetypes welcome. No 3pp. Nothing from the Occult Adventures playtest, but Unchained classes are welcome (any summoners must be from unchained).
•Average starting gold.
•2 traits. One must be from the Reign of Winter player's guide.
•Background. It doesn't need to be fancy or long. However I am a sucker for more interesting, well thought out and well written backgrounds. While this can be done in a paragraph, it usually takes more.
•One free skill point at first level that must go into craft, perform or profession. This represents some way you've made a living before adventuring, so make sure it reflects in your character and background.
•Most of all, build a character you care about and have fun!
What I expect from you:
I am looking for a post a day throughout the week and 1 post over the weekend. I also expect your posts to move the game forward in some way (including role-play), and to have some amount of description.
I will leave rectruitment open until Sunday at midnight (GMT-6). If you have any questions feel free to ask here or pm me.
Only 5' diameter, right? I can stay along the wall and get to the body without coming closer than 5' right? If not, then cancel inspecting the body.
Aurusk steps forward a little, examining the scene. He begins speaking absently, unaware of what the others are saying, Hmm. . . . Brown mold. . . . It must pull the heat from . . . Then a cold spell might destroy it. He moves around the side of the cave, staying well out of the way of the mold. He comes to the body and inspects it. I see. Stabbed here, here and here, but then frozen and starved. He shakes his head sadly, Well I guess we should take this, he removes the useful items from the corpse, being careful not to handle the metal directly, and backs out of the cave the same way he came in.
Aurusk coughs and sputters as he comes out of the pool. He waits for everyone to come through then, he pulls out a candle, he mutters a few words, reaching into a pouch at his side and the candle suddenly sheds light, much brighter than most. Though as you look closer, you can see the light is actually coming from the wax part and not a fire on the wick.
No Alexis. We know this pond is foul. We would never drink from it.
Aurusk makes his way over to the ledge and follows Kraig up.
