Technically all you would need would be Varisian ethnicity to qualify for Arcane Tattoos, which should be pretty easy. :)

HERE is my Remaster Paizo-format PbP Template, if anyone wants it.

I'm still filling in the character sheet. It's taking me a bit as it's my first 2e pbp sheet. I'm open to format suggestions if anyone has a template...

Template 2.2

I accidentally overwrote my 2.3, which is a little cleaner, but I need to update to Remaster anyhow.

This is the better plan, yes?

Better is relative. :)

If you want to be a Bard, then being a Bard probably is the better path. All Bards get Courageous Anthem, so Maestro is not strictly necessary. Lingering Composition lets you squeeze in a few more actions each round if you want to be more "attack-y" or more "cast-y."

Bards can be stretched thin with all the things you might want a Bard to do. There are some good, readable Bard guides (check here, I like Tarondor's guide style myself, but check out the others too) that give you some ideas for stat arrays. The best you can hope for in Dexterity is 16, so your AC is going to attract critical hits. You won't have the boosts to spare for your Intelligence to be the "know-it-all" Bards are known for in other editions/games unless you go full caster.

Spellcasting is tilted a bit differently in PF2, also. Casters rely heavily on their cantrips and use their spells for more significant occasions.

@rdknight

Since you're brand new to 2e, here are some general details and Bard Multiclass Archetype-specific details to consider. I don't know how much you do or don't know, so I'll start pretty basic.

Multiclassing in PF2 is done in the form of Class feats called Archetype feats. You would spend one of your appropriate level Class feats to gain an Archetype feat. You generally gain a Class feat every even level (martial classes generally also get a 1st level Class feat, and humans have a feat that could score you a Class feat at 1st level). The required entry feat for a Multiclass Archetype is 2nd level, though (there's an elf heritage and a rogue racket--eldritch trickster--that break that rule). Then for each Multiclass feat you would want after that, you spend the appropriate level or higher Class feat to gain that feat.

So, to be a Rogue with the Bard Multiclass Archetype Dedication feat at 2nd level, you would need a +2 in CHA. That feat grants you training in Occultism and Performance (or a different skill if you're already trained in any of those) and the ability to cast 2 occult cantrips. You choose a Muse but gain no benefit from it.

While you could take Lingering Performance at 4th, it would not provide you any benefit. Courageous Anthem (inspire courage) is an 8th level Archetype feat. You could take Healing Hymn, Song of Strength, or Uplifting Overture at 4th with Basic Muse's Whispers 4th level Archetype feat and then take Lingering Performance at 6th with Advanced Muse's Whispers Archetype feat. However, I didn't get that that's what you were envisioning.

You might enjoy Rogue with Eldritch Trickster racket and take Bard as your spellcasting Multiclass Dedication Archetype feat.

Basic technical details: Monk, Human, Eager Scofflaw, Role: bruiser (backup lock picker/trapper)

Your two paragraphs about your character.

"Now look here!" Bashalde exclaims after ducking under the stool swung at his head while struggling to keep his beer inside his mug. "I really don't understand why you're so upset."

Bashalde could never figure out how he ended up in these situations. All he wanted to do was spend his days resting, drinking, and smiling at the pretty girls. Unfortunately, the drinking part requires money, so some of the days had to be spent working. The speed at which the money he earned disappeared also perplexed him, but that is beside the point. For now. It will be critical later in the story.

Inevitably, it seemed, that when Bashalde was trying to mind his own business, someone would do something that one really should not do. That's not to say that Bashalde was innocent of the occasional--fine, more than occasional--misstep with the law. However, he treated people politely, and bullying was just one thing he felt needed to be called out. The ones getting called out usually did not appreciate it. Then the next thing he knew, someone was throwing a punch--or a stool--at his jaw.

The other man swung the stool again. This time it glanced against Bashalde's arm and knocked loose the mug from his grip. Bashalde watched as his beer spilled across the floor, and his face turned red. "Oh. That was so unnecessary!"

Your degree of experience with PF2E and PbP. Extensive.

If you've played PbP before, link me two gameplay posts you've made that you're proud of or think are you playing at your best.

Here are two scenes from SFS games that I played at your tables several years ago. They reflect the minimalist style I use--especially in Organized Play--because 1) I don't want to hog the spotlight and 2) I like to banter or give other players time to react.

Cellion Game 1
Cellion Game 2

Here are a couple more carefully crafted posts from an adventure path.

AP Example 1
AP Example 2

Do you agree to keep up with the minimum 1 post per day described above, and acknowledge that if you can't maintain that you'll be replaced? Yes. With the proviso that this is a lot longer than an Organized Play Scenario, so vacations and illnesses are likely to occur over the course of the game and sometimes that will preclude posting. I'll announce anything planned ahead of time, and I'll have a BOT profile with dice expressions for use if necessary.

Anything else I should know about you or your character? As a monk, my character will be dependent on specific gear (handwraps, armor runes/bracers of armor). I think that'll be OK from the Player's Guide.

In case it wasn't obvious, this is the Drunken Brawler and Accidental Hero tropes. However, I do have a more grim (not broody) monk character idea if this personality doesn't mesh with other characters/story themes.

I'm going to withdraw from this table. No chronicle needed; I can print my own zero'ed chronicle.

Thank you for your efforts.

Bashalde turns around and follows Belor through the other door, arrow resting on his bow.

Dark Archive

Most of us were on Slide 4, but now most of us are not on Slide 4. I'll put myself back. We were ready to proceed through the door to the north.

Dark Archive

"Very well."

Dark Archive

"Well, north or south?"

Dark Archive

The DC for a knotted rope is 5.
Barred was the last one to roll, so we should all be on the second floor now.

Dark Archive

A knotted rope at that.

Dark Archive

With the hungry dogs dealt with, Bashalde returns to the task of scaling the second story.

Dark Archive

Bashalde stumbles over the debris until he gets a good shot at the hungry dogs, and then he fires an arrow.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
P: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Dark Archive

Bashalde fires a grappling arrow from his shortbow toward the hole in the second floor. The arrow trails a knotted silk rope.

Grapple: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

After a tug on the rope, he is satisfied with its placement. "Let's climb!"

Climb (Take 10): 10 + 5 = 15

The Varisian scurries up the rope.

Dark Archive

Bashalde finishes his report and visits with the quartermaster. After a few days of rest, he meets with the others in preparation for exploring the revealed fortress.

Dark Archive

Yes, we still get the boon. We just don't get the free wayfinder, just a discounted wayfinder as described in the boon.

Dark Archive

Worked! Thanks!

Dark Archive

I'm still only seeing Belor's chronicle (page 1/1).

Dark Archive

All I can see is (edit) Belor's sheet. Page 1/1.

Dark Archive

I'm not sure if I posted this information at any point:

Player: Tim M (Blake's Tiger)
Character: Bashalde
PSF #: 230524-25
Faction: Dark Archive
Day Job: N/A
XP Track: Normal

Dark Archive

Yes, I think so. The Minotaur has to make a DC 14 Reflex save before each swing of the axe or drop it and takes 1 point of Acid damage each round it holds it.

Dark Archive

Bashalde moves towards the battle and leaps over the stream, landing with a soft grunt. He steps a little closer to the minotaur and chants a simple spell, using a flask of acid as a component, resulting in an acidic grease coating the minotaur's axe.

Move 15 ft, leap 10 ft, move 5 ft
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Grease, duration 1 minute: Reflex vs. DC 14 or drop axe. Must make a Reflex save vs. DC 14 each round it tries to use the axe or drop it instead.
Flask of Acid as alchemical reagent: 1 point of Acid damage each round a creature holds the affected item.

Bashalde draws his bow and moves across the clearing.

Dark Archive

Leaving for GenCon tomorrow. Tier 1 GMing, so I'll only have enough time to sleep. I'll do what I can by phone on intermissions, but if I slow things down, GM may not me.

Dark Archive

"Onward."

Dark Archive

Bashalde chuckles at Elado as they continue down the tunnel, "You do that."

Dark Archive

"You're sure it's out cold?"

Dark Archive

"What are we doing here, precisely?"

Dark Archive

"Elado, are you hurt badly?" Bashalde asks as he fires another arrow at the closest kobold.

Short Bow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Short Bow Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Dark Archive

"I take that as a no," he says as he steps forward and fires an arrow at the closest kobold.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Shortbow Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Dark Archive

Bashalde moves forward and draws his bow. "I don't suppose they're willing to let us pass?"

Dark Archive

Bashalde continues down the tunnel.

Dark Archive

The Lepidstadt investigator goes to search the alcove for additional clues to the situation.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Dark Archive

"It would see his creatures got out of hand," Bashalde comments. He picks up the amulet and the sword. "These are magical, but I lack the understanding to determine their properties."

Dark Archive

"Let's see what this corpse was about before his demise," Bashalde suggests, heading over to the dead man.

Dark Archive

Re-wrote this post because I forgot my plan from last night when I was on my mobile.

Bashalde steps back from the group and chants a short phrase. A pool of grease appears in the middle of the cave, making it difficult for some of the undead to stand.

Actions:
5 ft Step
Standard: Cast Grease (Reflex DC 14 or fall prone)

A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

Dark Archive

Bashalde moves into the tunnel to evaluate what is happening.

K: Religion (untrained, Max. DC 10): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Dark Archive

It worked. Thanks!

Dark Archive

Map permissions not granted.

Dark Archive

"Ah, I believe a quieter approach is in order within these caves," Bashalde answers, "One, we do not want to dislodge any weaknesses in the stone above us, and two, if there are more minotaur down here, best to take them by surprise."

Dark Archive

Without any further instructions coming from his allies, Bashalde returns to the shore. He does his best to dry himself off before putting his boots and armor back on.

"Which way first, then?"

Dark Archive

"Well, that did not seem to do much. Anything, really," Bashalde says as he finishes the tasks, "If anyone else has any ideas while I'm out here, call them out. Otherwise, I shall swim back and we can look for these predators."

Dark Archive

"Certainly, we could do that," Bashalde says, "As long as it is not a dragon, giant, or some other beast beyond our skill. Do you mind if I take a look at that city?"

Bashalde points at the carved diorama.

If given permission::

Bashalde removes his pack, armor, and boots. He pulls out a candle and his flint and steel, wrapping it in a cloth. He then swims Take 10 for 16 to the stone rise. Climbing onto the edge of the city, he unwraps the candle and lights it in the center of the city. He also whispers a brief history of the Lepidstadt University into the minature streets.

Dark Archive

"I am sorry, good gillman," Bashalde apologizes, "While you speak Taldane very well, it appears that you are deaf--at least above the water, I do not know much about gillmen--and cannot understand the answers that we have given. It is a shame, since we came to learn what draws the gillmen to these caves on a full moon."

He bows to the gillman and speaks to the others, "It appears that we will not be able to communicate with him. Let us investigate the miniature city."

Dark Archive

The gillman can read lips, so I'm not sure what the extended delay is for.

Are you waiting for a reaction to that information?
