"On it, boss!" The junior agent beats feet down the street towards the Wounded Wisp.

"Well, uh, we ain't got 14 people. We barely got 4 right now." The half-orc looks sheepish about the lack of resources.

A small figure and a even smaller figure, if you can see invisible creature flies down from the sky and landed on top of the gate. "This is Venture-Captain Colin Rosenthal. Status report?" he asks the junior Pathfinders to explains the situation to him. "Sorry, founding a lodge took a while." he speaks quietly to his seeker companions.

"...The gate is locked, I see. It hasn't been that way since 8 years ago, when the black dragon came" the druid looks down at the enormous gate under his feet and takes out his bow. "Are we the seekers trying to get pass the gate, or are they the junior Pathfinders trying to get pass the gate?"

"Yessir, I was just tellin' 'em about it all. Gates been closed all day, no one in or out. Those of us not on expedition have been keeping watch for VC Petulengro. Soon as someone can get the gates open, we can move in, if that's the plan. It's been damn nerve-wracking with the army outside and who knows what inside."

Grinning a wide, toothy grin, Banon draws his falchion. "Got just the people to handle that, boss."

What does the party do now?

"That's quick work! I'll let tha VC know." The half-orc clearly stands in awe of the team. "Should I tell her where you're going, or is that too secret?"

At Munny's signal, the junior Pathfinder disappears from the window, soon reappearing at the door and jogging up to the gate. "All clear?"

"Uh, you do know you got something on your face, right?"

I'll handle it.

"Well...I guess?" Rubbing the back of his head with his bandana, he half-shrugs. "No one's been in or out all morning, with us what couldn't join the expedition not having a way in. You'd be better off asking the venture captain. She's over 'where it all began', as they say."

"Been like this for most of the day." he explains, gesturing to the gates. "VC Petulengro has the few of us here pulling watch shifts." He nods to Munny. "Glad to see you here, Mister Munny. Way out of my depth."

”Better you all than me. I’ll be over here at the bar, getting drunk.”

”Don’t be making me thump y’all on the heads now. Keep it professional.”

"Oh, uh, not really supposed to say it out loud, but..." The junior agent looks around the street and shrugs. "...no one but us right now. She's at the Wounded Wisp coordinating all of us that aren't with the expedition."

"There's not too many of us here, mostly junior agents." he answers to Omrax. "None of us have any easy way over the walls, so we just keep watch rather than get in over our heads. The army outside hasn't tried to take the city, so no casualties yet."

It don't get much more unique!

I think we picked up a unique item with rules on the chronicle, which is another goal.

I typically rule that it needs to be called an artifact in the adventure or have actual artifact stats listed. I don't recall the piece being called such outright but could see it being argued as such. Tere's boon might be more decisive about its status.

Internet isn't on in the new house until Tuesday but I can mobile hotspot during the game.

"We bring him back, whatever he's gotten himself into. So, do we keep headed north or cut this way?"

"They're the same ones that were messing with the miners, right?" Banon leans on his sword as he catches his breath. "Or are they a different tribe? I ain't looking for no more fight than we have to."

Hearing Alaric's warning, Banon turns and follows Tere, breathing heavily from the wrenching of the door. Moving ahead, he steps up past the kobold and readies his blade.

Taking advantage of Telka's blessing, Banon shoves into the door with a roar of frustration!

Likewise, I leave Tuesday night. I suspect my GenCon will be MUCH less busy, but I will likely be quite distracted by Seeker tier gameplay.

Banon moves up to join the demolition team in breaking open the passage.

Following along the rush, Banon leaps over Shredder, trying to shove the kobold back to make room to advance.

Seeing little room to work with, Banon continues at widening the gap.

Abandoning his own opening in favor of the party's, Banon easily scales the rubble and joins Alaric and Shredder.

"Telka, I'll open a path back for ya!" Banon calls, moving to the closest doorway. Levering his sword into the gap, he works at widening it.

I think Core is a great place to try less powerful options, since you don't have all the fun tricks you normally do. You could certainly grab Combat Casting given his concentration checks will take a hit alongside the CL reduction from going MT. Dodge or the save boosting feats are something if nothing else looks better.

Having dealt with his opponent, Banon soars out of the treehouse, circling down to bring death from above! This time he remembers his training against humans as well.
