Maeve (& Naysa?): Baldhart is surprised by the goddess’ true form, especially because of the nervousness she feels.
The goddess seeks the young giant’s approval. Now is not a good time to show her I can be a giant too. The fairy remains very tiny and very quiet. She pays careful attention to the child’s reaction. If this is to be a sister-hug moment, I must avert my eyes. For I cannot show the goddess my tears.
Maeve & Naysa: Baldhart is curious about the child. She is special to the goddess. I will kill or die to protect this young giant.
The fairy flies close to the child, and should Maeve try to hold her in her soft hand, the fairy will not resist.
(Apologies if anyone saw my spell-change PM. Not that I fully understand how my spells work, there is one that I had better take at Lv.7, or I may suffer some DR issues. Haste at Lv.8 as planned!)
Baldhart claps enthusiastically. She sees me —and— understands me! She adjusts the hue of her luminous skin to match Ann’s green glow.
When Ann’s eyes adjust, she sees Baldhart hovering before her, the fairy’s right hand forming a V with two fingers. She asks Ann, “Ting b-b-bing?” She then outstretches the hand with the two fingers maintaining that V. ✌️
Baldhart also signs the note after Hanako quietly reads it to her.
Baldhart bobs up and down, and wiggles her limbs like tentacles while glowing the same color as the odd, rat-eating creatures. She then dings excitedly.
Baldhart dings a cheer for Ann, who is an amazing warrior even with her eyes magically shut! She looses an arrow for support.
Baldhart cheers the party on! “B-b-b-bringgg!”
Baldhart is relieved that someone followed. She folds her hands in a gesture of thanks to Winter.
Baldhart dings and buzzes… but it’s no use. Her words cannot be understood.
Baldhart will force-feed Hanako again.
My post somehow was eaten when I edited a post in another game, so I reposted a less dramatic version. I THINK it would take Baldy no less than two rounds to heal Hanako. This round to get the vial, and if it can be done with a swift action, land on Hanako in case her body is moved. If she’s on Hanako or within 5’, she can force feed CLW next round.
Baldhart cannot stand all of the self-sacrificial gestures. Hanako does not fear the giants’ words! She fears they will die for her—she ran to them to heal them, but she was not strong enough… The fairy will grab another vial if she can, and wake Hanako again.
Baldy obeys Kilarra’s order!
Baldy sees the fox’s dilemma.
She darts past the first enemy (to provoke), and gets by! But the second enemy…
Might knock the fairy from the sky!
Baldhart follows Hanako down from the Stela. The fairy is not sure what the crazy lady will think, but blasty magic cannot target her or Hanako.
Baldhart holds the vial between Hanako’s lips, and she pours the strange red liquid…
@Mort, I can’t move Baldy’s token. (And even if I can, she’s not going anywhere without a fighter moving ahead of her for part of the way!) Half speed is 30’ (stealth speed). If I make it to Hanako in a single (stealthy) move action, let me know if Baldy can force-feed the healing potion to her. Mauler makes her stronger than the average sprite, but given the relative size, I’ll understand if she needs a full round action to position the vial into Hanako’s lips and pour. (I mean, diminutive size is great for sneaky stuff, but when a vial is like a barrel to you…)
The badly-wounded fairy understands she cannot sneak toward Hanako without a distraction. She will make another approach, this time letting a giant lead the way.
She will use Kilarra’s (?) size as cover and fly stealthily, vial still in hand.
Oh… Baldy’s move was still interrupted. Okay, deleted posts of things I can’t do. Will re-post in the morning. I may not have a move though… How high is the ceiling in the main room?
Baldhart looks up at her goddess’ long hair, prepares to leap up and force-feed her the healing potion… and she blacks out.
Even if that means I… The fairy tries to use Garrosh’s girth and the sacrificial stone to hide her diminutive body as she flits toward Hanako with the vial.
Baldhart holds one finger up. Her hue becomes yellow. She then holds up her other finger, and is no longer yellow. (She stops glowing.) She takes her not-yellow finger and holds it to her own throat. She glows cherry-blossom-pink while the finger is against her throat. (The fairy knows that, just minutes ago, Piotr and Ann realized this shade of pink is somehow associated with Hanako.)
Baldhard holds up two fingers with one hand, and points to the secret passage (that she just snuck into and back out of) with the other hand. She holds up one finger with the “counting” hand, then draws her sword. She points to the dried yellow blood on her sword. She then holds up two fingers. She holds her sword downward toward a place on the ground. She then lies down where her sword was just pointing and makes her aura pink. She then taps on the healing vials again and points to Kilarra and Garrosh. (She thinks Piotr needs one too, which she will “say” by pointing only if the other giants heal up.)
Baldhart slinks back the way she came… And as she sees Kilarra drink not enough potions, she points to more, then points to Kilarra’s mouth. She makes not-so-subtle gestures of drinking motions, drawing her sword, and pointing to the passage downward. If anyone tries to get past Baldhart while still wounded, she’ll make a drinking motion and point to a potion, or she’ll point to the healing wand.
Baldhart flashes very, very bright green. “DING!” She reminds herself to stop glowing! before heading into the secret passage…
…stealthily!
Baldy points at the floor in the direction where Hanako is. Her aura becomes pink and she makes some sing-song sounds with her bell voice.
Baldhart is slightly hurt herself, but not nearly as much as the giants. She finds a safe place to land and waits patiently for the others to rest. While sitting perfectly still, she tries to sense Hanako. Alive… where?
The fairy clears a path for the strongest giant.
Baldhart looses another arrow.
It may be best for the fairy’s sake that she is stuck at her small and harmless size. The crazy giant would certainly have feasted on her blood if she were more of a threat and more than a snack. Hanako’s friends will win. The hungry one thinks they will back down from her words.
Baldhart knows she is too weak to really hurt this woman. Not like other giants. She is as inhuman as me. Yet, no matter how tiny and pathetic a fairy is next to a giant. She blocks the path to Hanako. She must die.
Her little toothpick hurts—
Baldhart shoots again!
She thinks the verbose giant may have actually felt that one!
Baldhart is not sure her little toothpicks can do much against the fast-healing fiend, but it is worth a shot—
Baldy shoots an arrow.
Baldhart drops the bitten jerky at the sound of the word ‘songbird.’ She stretches her arms and legs in vain, but her body will not grow. She can only expand her aura.
Baldy takes a strip of jerky almost as big as she is. She gnaws off a corner. Most of it is for Hanako.
Baldhart doesn’t give up. “Grrmmm!” A brilliant flash again attempts to daze the remaining foe!
Baldhart flies up to daze whatever bad guy she makes eye-contact with!

Baldhart flashes yellow and poses (in midair) like she has claws and a hungry grin. Then, so nobody thinks she went crazy, she points to the door. With her non-pointing hand, she holds two fingers up, then three, then she shrugs. (If they’re talking, she assumes there is more than one.)
Baldhart thinks that’s close enough. Kinda bright green “ding” is her answer. She definitely thinks Piotr should get hit with the wand a lot. Kilarra too. Hanako has one. Did they take it? She is alive, so… Baldhart stops overthinking. The giants must be strong because the fairy is not. Baldy will do what she can to warn of further dangers.
Baldhart may not have colors for giants who are not Hanako, but the color for danger has been consistent. She points to the source of the trap. “Bzzzzzt.” She flickers yellow at varying degrees of brightness.
Baldy is confused, but then she understands… she shakes her head and buzzes with a bright red flash. She points to the dead man who wore the yellow sign. Again, she turns deep red. The blue-white she made with the halo… …she points to Kilarra, and Garrosh as well (if he’s good-aligned). She might need Hanako’s help to come up with colors for everyone. Hanako! The easily-distracted fairy focuses on the task at hand.
Baldhart points up in the air like she has an idea! She glows every color of the rainbow from red to violet, then repeats, then stops her aura at green. She nods her head while remaining green. She shakes her head while glowing red. She forms a halo over her head with both hands and glows a blue-white. She makes horns and glows a deep, dark red. Then she considers Piotr’s words and makes a “PPPPtt~!” with her mouth while glowing brownish. The pink aura now… she dances in the air, dings melodically and plays ‘air-violin.’ She wonders if the giants understand, and hovers before Ann, who’s good at explaining stuff.
Baldhart shakes her head and flashes very, very bright red. “Bzzt,” she says. She then holds her hand over her eyebrows, mimicking a searching motion. She makes a dinging sound, flashing pink as she “asks.” She repeats this motion searching left, “dinging?” and right, “dinging?” and wherever, “dinging?” She then looks straight down and points frantically, flashing pink as she, “ding-ding-dings!” She then stops and looks at the siblings, hovering in front of their faces. Do they understand, she wonders?
As soon as Kilarra says ‘she,’ the fairy points straight down. She flashes a pale pink because that seems like a Hanako color. (If asked if the party should just follow Kilarra for now, she’ll ding and flash very, very bright green.) |
