About Baldhart the Warrior-Fairy

The bronze-skinned dirty blonde stands half a foot tall, her diminutive body adorned in bones of vermin coated with glitterdust. Why she serves Hanako, she cannot say. But if she possessed the power of speech, Baldhart would proudly tell of that glorious moment when she felt…

The Touch of the Goddess:

With sword in hand, Baldhart the Warrior Princess approaches the thundering tremors. Surely the source of the sound is a gargantuan most would run away from.

‘Most’ are cowards.

But as she enters the vast clearing she discovers a woman towering over her, ten times the warrior’s height. Her voice bellows like a volcanic eruption, and were the titaness to vomit magma, the ankle-high amazon would not be surprised. But all that comes out are words.

Did she just say I am… admirable?

“DO NOT BE AFRAID. COME,” the giantess commands as she expectantly holds out her colossal hand. It is bigger than a person… and held higher than a person can possibly reach.

Does she expect me to climb? I have no grappling hook, and even if I did, would that not offend…?

Baldhart sheathes her blade. It is clear the bestial beauty will not attack, and so she contemplates how to ascend to the outstretched fingertips. It then suddenly occurs to her—

My wings! Do they not function?

Much to Baldhart’s surprise, they do. And the moment she steps onto the palm, she feels a deep connection unlike any she has ever felt before.

“I AM HANAKO.”

Suddenly everything makes sense to the warrioress. I truly did sacrifice myself then—but not in vain! I earned my wings, and now I am accepted by the goddess…

Hanako?

The goddess guffaws with a heartiness that rattles every bone in Baldhart’s body. She adjusts her stance to stabilize herself, though there is no need. Fingers from Hanako’s other hand cup around her protectively, and soon she sees eye to eye with the dark-haired deity!

Baldhart clenches her fist tightly into a ball and places it on her heart, pledging her unwavering loyalty. And though she cannot offer Hanako her words, to her surprise, the goddess speaks many in reply, enough to fill a conversation singlehandedly. The divine words are music! And though the lyrics are complicated and overwhelming, Baldhart understands the intended meaning perfectly:

My goddess is pleased.

Special Abilities
Luminous (Su) A sprite naturally sheds light equal to that provided by a torch. A sprite can control the color and intensity of the light as a swift action, reducing it to the dimness of a candle or even extinguishing its luminosity entirely if it wishes.

Alertness (Ex): While a familiar is within arm's reach, the master gains the Alertness feat.

Improved Evasion (Ex): When subjected to an attack that normally allows a Reflex saving throw for half damage, a familiar takes no damage if it makes a successful saving throw and half damage even if the saving throw fails.

Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).

Empathic Link (Su): The master has an empathic link with his familiar to a 1 mile distance. The master can communicate empathically with the familiar, but cannot see through its eyes. Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared. The master has the same connection to an item or place that his familiar does.

Bond Forged in Blood (Su): A mauler isn’t impressed by fancy words—only furious battle. A mauler can’t speak or communicate via language in any way, even if it’s a type of creature that normally could.

At 5th level, whenever the mauler’s master drops a foe whose Hit Dice are at least half its level to below 0 hit points, the mauler’s empathic link surges with power, granting both the mauler and its master a +2 morale bonus on attack and damage rolls for 1 round.

Increased Strength (Ex): At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, a mauler’s Strength score increases by 1. As a result of this ability, the familiar’s Intelligence score remains 6; a mauler can never have an Intelligence score higher than 6.

Battle Form (Su): At 3rd level, a mauler gains the ability to transform into a larger, more ferocious form and back as a standard action three times per day. In battle form, the mauler’s size becomes Medium and it gains a +2 size bonus to its Strength score. Since many familiars are Tiny or Diminutive, be sure to check for any additional Strength and Dexterity adjustments for increasing in size from Tiny or Diminutive to Medium (Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook 212). This is a polymorph effect.

Damage Reduction (Su): At 11th level, a mauler gains DR 5/magic.

Scry on Familiar (Sp): If the master is 13th level or higher, he may scry on his familiar (as if casting the scrying spell) once per day.
