As the others converse, Baedjrak scurries up to the fallen guards, looking to evaluate the weapons and technology they carry. As he begins this work, he poses a response to Arika's concern. "It is possible that they carry tech that can reveal even a stealthy agent. Perhaps something that detects body heat, or the like. Let me take a look."

Damn, that shot almost took off my ear?! Baedjrak stays low against the fence, thankful that the guard's shot was less than accurate. Peering around the edge, he repeats his previous actions, using his technical skills to cause a diversion before snapping off another shot.

Staying low and slow, Baedjrak makes his way up to the fence, drawing a line of fire on one of the guards. With a mental command as he moves triggered through his datajack, he causes a series of flashing lights to appear momentarily, drawing the guard's attention.

Having followed carefully behind his warrior companions, once they reach the cover of the graveyard, Baedjrak swings out to their flank, where his diminutive stature and natural stealth will benefit him in bringing his arms to bear from a different direction. Turning to Arika, "With comms still down, perhaps you should stay closer. Not only to be able to react to our changing situation, but that way you are not an isolated target, with no hope of reinforcements should you be directly engaged."

Baedjrak continues to scratch his head as he listens to the description of the situation. "Since taking over and declaring martial law, what have the soldiers been doing? Does it seem like they are looking for something? Have they sent anyone away? I am trying to understand their intentions, whatever they may be. And, where were you fleeing toward - I trust you had a destination in mind? Also, do you know of any others who are not held within the town, perhaps that could help with a resistance?"

After rattling off his list of questions, he stares at the man intently.

Running to get behind a tree near Arika, Baedjrak triggers with computer to project an image of a surging cloud for a brief moment, hoping to distract the soldiers as he moves for cover and takes a shot.

As they begin their approach toward the planet, Baedjrak's face twists up as he stares at one of his screens. Typing in a slew of codes, he grunts, then turns to his companions. "It would seem that there is some kind of comms jamming going on planetside, and it is coming from our destination, Madelon's Landing. Perhaps we should put down outside the settlement and sneak forward then take a look?"

Baedjrak squeaks with maniacal glee as Trosvod's shot blows the drone to pieces. "YEEEAAASSS!"

After a few moments of celebrating, he turns back to his control panel and scans the wreckage of the drones.

"Hmm, it would seem those drones show no trace of Drift capability. They definitely were deployed by another source, though I am reading no signs of a larger vessel nearby. He smiles and throws a big thumbs up to the rest of the crew.

After the first exchange of fire and the shuddering of their vessel, Baedjrak's fingers scurry across his keyboard, redirecting power from their central core into their shields. "I'm working on getting the shields boosted, but I can make no guarantees!"

Success, restore 5% of PCU (100), so 5 shield points, to our defenses. It says it is divided evenly, so 3 to Starboard, and 2 to Port.

@Elthaeron As part of your movement, you are able to perform stunts, including the Evade stunt, which requires a Pilot check DC 12, which grants a +2 to AC and TL for the round.

Baedjrak has cobbled together a variety of dataslates, wires, and pressure gauges into a makeshift engineering station and dives into the controls present as their vessel begins its engagement. "Hey Tros, I am sending more power to our weapons systems. See if you can bring them down fast!"

Apologies for the delay. Needed to get home and crack open my hardcover starfinder core rulebook to go over ship combat again.

Also, the one big upgrade in our ship is the tetramode computer, which allows four actions each round to gain a +1 on their d20 roll. I did this so we would each get a +1 on an action every round, so don't forget the bonus. @Elthaeron, in addition, our ship gives a +2 to Pilot checks, so overall you have a +3 to your roll (giving you a 19 total).

I think its great. Baedjrak would be impressed by a unique, esoteric, and elegant elven name... and not speaking elven, would have no idea about the named itself. And by the time he (eventually) learns it, would take it to mean marred as akin to scarred, given that the ship is reborn from a previous vessel.

Climbing out of a wiring hatch, Baedjrak looks up at the large Reptilian. "Rustbucket?! How dare you disgrace her with such a vial name. This vessel, she is a lady, and our trusted companion. She needs a name like "The Finder's Grace", or "Lost Fortune", not a derogatory monicker?! That will only bring us bad luck-"

Baedjrak is suddenly cut off by sensor alarms, and jumping to the scanners, takes a careful eye to them.

Baedjrak, still covered in grease, coolant, and a variety of other chemicals necessary in getting their vessel functional, uses a sham cloth to clean his hands. "Suppose I'll be serving as the ship's engineer, seeing to our propulsion, computer systems, and what not. Arika, you can man the second guns, and as a marksman, I bet you have a keen eye. Perhaps you can watch our sensors?"

That's for the generic five crew positions set up in the tool. The vessel has a minimum crew of 1, a Max crew of 6. So I am assuming, unless we convert one of the expansion bays to accommodate more people, that the ship is outfitted initially for 6 people. I threw in the tetranode computer because it gives a +1 to four attempts every round and there are four PCs, so figured it made sense.

Next two upgrades I think would be escape pods and some more guns, followed by a medical bay.

A medical lab would be mighty helpful for patching people up along the way.

I would think a mix of energy and physical weapons would be good. At this level, I doubt we can have both speed and resilience, so let's say tough.

Baedjrak ponders that final statement for a few minutes. "Well, if the death certificate is the most important part, I can give my hand a go at a bit of hacking. I am no master like you, ma'am, but I will see what I can do."

Activating his personal computing device upon his wrist, he begins coding in, using vocal commands as well thanks to its connection to his comms system.

Looking at his completed work on the screen, he routes the file to the residence's printing equipment, causing it to spew out a copy of the completed file. Walking over, Baedjrak pulls it from the printer, smiling. "Not too shabby if I do say so myself." Then he hands it to the older woman.

"Now, as for a new identity, it would seem we need to put in some leg work, setting up connections and friends, altering your bearing, and perhaps even arranging for some form of employment." Turning to the others, "I can go attend to the details of sowing a new identity for the lady. Given your skills, I trust the three of you can stay here and keep them safe should anyone come looking for them?"

Before departing, Baedjrak begins to propose a new identity...

Baedjrak stares in shock as his inquisitive approach is interrupted by the blast of an energy cannon. "By all the gods, is all you three want to do is kill everything!? I thought we were to be Starfinders, not just murderous mercenaries. This thing was being treated as a pet by those two children, I doubt it is a vicious destroyer. Is it not our charge to encounter and learn from the unknown when possible?!"

Shaking off his shock, he looks at the dying creature within the container, trying to make sense of it's anatomy. Very carefully, Baedjrak tries to stabilize the being so that someone more skilled or knowledgeable might be able to heal it.

I have power again! Florence ended up being less than expected in my neck of the woods, but still gave us some trouble and stole the power/interweb. I know plenty of people who didn't fare as well. Hopefully none of you were troubled by it.

As the three soldiers fan out, their weapons at the ready, Baedjrak allows his quizzical eye to search for puzzles amidst the chamber.

Once you have someone talking cooperatively, its poor form to threaten them. That's a good way to turn a calm situation into a shoot out. Anywho, let me take a look at this contraption."

Baedjrak scampers over to the jury-rigged thermal sensors and starts fiddling around.

Baedjrak had been letting the bigger folk have their way as they traversed the ship. He let his eyes wander about the relic's unique patterns. But as the lumbering big folk seem to terrify the children of their own kind, Baedjrak steps forward.

"He there, no need to be afraid of these big mercenary types. They are just here in case there is something dangerous, you see? But you two aren't dangerous, are you? Seriously though, what has you cowering away back here? Maybe I will trade you a nice, tasty snack if you let me in on it..."
