With the others seeming to have everything in hand in the east chamber, Badabar wanders over to the west to look around. ![]() Badabar breathes deep tp catch his breath. "Is that the last of the beetles?" he asks. When no more appear, he wipes the beetle slime off of the blade of his axe. As the others start to search, he approaches Andros. "Let me see your wound Andros." he says. Examining it he remarks "I can mend this with the power of the Ironhand." ![]() Badabar unsaddles his pony and secures it to a tree a little bit off the path, making sure he has some grass to munch on. He pulls several torches from his saddlebag and lights one. He offers it to Cedric and asks "Would you mind carrying this? You're taller, you see, and so the light will travel further." He looks to Andros and asks: "If you're good, then the two of us can lead the way as Rik suggests." If the others are in agreement, he will head into the tunnel with the monk by his side. ![]()

![]() "Gloomy day...." Badabar says as he steps out into the square. He pulls off his hat and looks up at the sky trying to make out the sun behind all of the clouds. The little paladin attracts a few stares from the humans that make up the majority of the population. Most passersby probably mistake him initially for Tidwoad, the local gnome merchant, but his armor and battleaxe mark him as someone different. ![]()

![]() Badabar might pick up religion next level, but Paladins don't get a lot of skill points. Badabar probably might have met Rik at Tidwoad's, where he is staying. It's not a big town, so we've likely crossed paths in the town square. It's Bad's first trip out in the world on his own, and he's surprised by the wickedness that lurks under the surface in what is supposed to be a civilized part of the world. The big folk aren't really familiar with smallfolk religion and so they don't really get that Bad is a paladin of Gaerdal Ironhand able to sense evil in the world. I expect he is underestimated by most humans he meets. ![]()
![]() Submitting Badabar Wilburforce. He's a gnome paladin from Grossetgrottel near Diamond Lake. He's in town because there was a gem heist in Grossetgrottel and he's come to visit Tidwoad to check and see if any of the stolen gems have turned up in Diamond Lake. 10 minute background: Step 1: Write 5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to get an image in your mind. 5 is just a minimum...more elements are encouraged! [1] Badabar Wilburforce grew up in Grossetgrottel, three days northwest of Diamond Lake. It is a cavern community of 800 gnomes who specialize in mining gems. [2] Badabr has been a warden in Grossetgrottel for the last five years, choosing defending his homeland over a trade in the mining or gem cutting professions. He worships Gaerdal Ironhand, the gnome deity of protection and vigilance. He is committed to defending those of his family and community, no matter the personal cost. [3] He is a bit serious for a gnome. Much more of a law and order guy than your average gnome trickster. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have fun, but he takes duty and responsibility pretty seriously. [4] His family is well established, living in Grossetgrottel for Badbar has an older brother and younger sister. It bothers his parents that he has taken up a dangerous profession that deters him from settling down and starting a family. [5] Badabar dresses more conservatively than most gnomes when he is not in his armor. Most of the time he is wearing the finely crafted breastplate he has saved up for over a black tunic and red pants. He carries a well made battle-axe (the weapon of his deity) and a crossbow slung on his back. Step 2: List at least two goals for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.
Step 3: List at least two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet.
Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.
Step 5: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.
