Can a body physical body in suspended animation during Astral projection be harmed? Sepia snake sigil say directly it can... Temporal Stasis says it cannot... ![]()
Hello My group decided that we want to run a number of 1-shots where all chars are build by 1 player per session. I want to build the ultimate team buffing party The rules: Each char have 1 round to buff.
So far I'm pretty sure to have:
and thinking about
Any ideas? ![]()
Cheers all My campaign of almost 4 years is about to end. The final battle will be against the The Oinodaemon The party consist of 5 fairly optimized lv. 20 chars, eachwith +3 cr templates and gear worth 1.000.000 gp Would this figth be winnable for the party, or do they need help in any way? ![]()
Cheers all My 16th level party is about to meet dragons. The only dragon they fought so far was trapped in his lair, and didn't last long... Dragons are supposed to be very hard opponents, but I need help running them as intelligent as they are... So: How do you run a CR 16-20 dragon against a highly optimized party? ![]()
At our last session my players reached the final boss battle. APL 15, with the following setup:
In the second to last battle they one round killed 4 out of 5 baddies, and spared the last for questioning. He answered all the party's questions to the best of his abilities. The party were told a bit about the BBEG abilities, and where he is located (room a top those stairs) The party DID NOT:
I had a hard time keeping the party alive to the point where the BBEG (int 14, spellcraft 25) focused his attacks on the summoned creatures, and one of the lieutenants teleported away in round 3... I can't shake the feeling that I should have performed a TPK, and started a new campaign.. --- What's done is done, and I will talk to my group about this. What I would like to hear in thus thread is: Have you ever downplayed npc's to keep chars alive?

Cheers all I'm having some trouble building the boss fight for my current adventure, and hope you guys can give a helping hand. The boss fight will consist of 2 bosses, and a number if mooks. I have 1 boss done, a fiendish duergar halfdragon fig7/cle7 He needs an arcane partner (CR 16). I rarely play arcane casters myself, and therefore doesn't have much experience building them. All my players are save focused, so I would like a number of "no save" spells... Perhaps a ray-master... Party consist of (all human lv. 15)
Mooks will be a fair mix of archers, bomb throwers and magic missile casters... All level 5-8... ![]()
Basically what I'm asking in title... Should a pc/npc/item get a save to resist detect spells? As it us now, any 5HD+ evil boss can be detected as evil unless he's a caster with the right spell running (nondetection or misdirection), making it hard for a non caster to be really badassevilspydude... Similar a character wearing a magic item, or an intelligent item, should get a save to resist being detected as magic... Any thoughts? ![]()
I'm currently running a 2-handed barb who do tons of damage (2D6+47 fully buffed), and therefore read up on the rules for massive damage. 50+ damage on 1 attack
The enemies I've met so far have had more than 100 hp, and/or really easy made the save... Have you ever used the massive damage rule?

Cheers all. The light exotic weapon falcata have a crit worth the exotic feat imo. But: being a light weapon, it cannot be used 2 handed... Correct? Taking -2 on attack rolls a character can use a larger than normal weapon. Correct? So... Assuming both of the above statements are correct, it is possible to get a 1 handed (one size category bigger than light) which CAN be used 2 handed though -2 penalty on attackrolls are applied. Correct? If the falcate is increased 2 sizes ( light -> 1H -> 2H ) is that -4 to attack? if possible at all? What dmg die will the falcate have with each size increase? ![]()
Cheers all For an ongoing project I need verification or corrections on the following: An army is split into divisions
Special function units where needed ![]()
Hello all My party is currently battling devils, and have heard of a company where the devils generally are tougher, and better trained than average... Next session they want to go hunting for them... I've always been a fan of giving class levels to monsters because that make it harder for the players to know the challenge level of a given monster. I would like fir the majority of the devils to be lemures, but need advice on how to make tougher and better trained lemures. Class levels in a mindless creature doesn't make sense, and throwing on the advanced template isn't enough (the party is level 14). I do not aim for the lemures to be a real challeng, but shouldn't be a complete walkover either... (aiming for cr 8-10 tops...) ![]()
My party just found themselves in the middle of a devil/demon warsite The demons are rather easy... They ate stronger than their devil counterparts, but fight alone... The devil setup is a bit harder to figure out... At this war site a full battalion is present, and being devil's structures needs to be set in stone. So... How would you build a devil battalion? ![]()
Cheers all Last session 1 of my PC's bought his son (an accident on a brothel in the abyss), a half fiend demon/human. He wanted to research a ritual to remove the half fiend part, so his son would be fully human. This is what I came up with (party is lv 13) The subject must be placed on an alter of a true neutral deity.
Have any1 been in the same situation, how did you handle it? What do you feel about my pollution? And ofc, if you want, feel free to steal the idea... ![]()
Cheers all After playing since 3.0 came out I've been thinking... I don't think I ever seen a character use an item that grants spell resistance. My guess is that it's due to prize being too high, and I've therefore consider house ruling it for my next campaign, but would like to hear your experience with SR items... Have you ever used them on a character?

Cheers all My campaign is getting close to lv 20, so I would like a bit of advice on what to do... I have the following suggestions myself: 1: 3.5 epic rules except no single class above lv. 20 (so multiclassing or prestige classes....) 2: mythic Since I never played in a campaign this high-level I'm unsure of the consequences... How would a non mythic CR 21 encounter feel for a lv. 20 party with 1 mythic tier? Are there anything in 3.5 epic rules that completely break the system? All my PC's got some spellcasting, do the caster/martial problem is irrelevant.. --- Note: we got the epic level handbook, need to buy mythic... ![]()
Have you ever had a char who needed to do something he/she definately wasn't mentally equipped to do... Plz share your stories... Last session one of my players (A) asked another player (B)(in character...) To get a list of assassins. Player B playing a low int, low wis sorc went to the cheapest most ilsmelling inn she could find, went up to the barkeep (other players have been at this inn before, the barkeep is a city guard secret agent) and ask him as the very first sentence: do you know where I can find an assassin? (the end result was arrest, and 50 gp fine for the bad joke...) ![]()
Is it possible within the rules to raise the DC of the effect of a magic item? Rod of nettles got DC 14, and I would like to be able to raise it for high level games. Currently all my players only fail that roll on a Nat 1 ![]()
Hey all. At low level healing can be problematic... Potions and wands can feel expensive, and not all parties got a dedicated healbot. The following buff to the heal skill is my way of dealing. Feel free to use at your leisure... Long term care: Normal: at a heal check DC 15 you raise the hp gain from 1/HD to 2/HD. To this I add: For each 5 you beat the DC, your patient gains 1 additional HP Surgery: A heal check DC 25 can followed at least 1 successful long term care exchange all hp gain to 1 ability damage. --- As stated in the beginning, if you like, feel free to use... ![]()
Hello all A couple of sessions ago 1 of my chars payed good money on a brothel in the abyss. 1 of the whores (that he know of), a succubus, got pregnant. The owner of the brothel, a demon lord, want as many halffiends as possible to use in attacks on the material plane. 1: how many kids does a demon get per pregnancy?

Cheers all I'm theoth crafting a dwarfen couple to run the workshop in a magic shop who claimes to craft special order items faster than anyone else... 2 dwarfes lv 12 any paizo material (20 pointbuy if needed) I'm thinking cleric(forgemasterb5/magus(soulforge)7 with cooperative crafting... Can some1 think of a couple who craft faster? Which other feats can help speed up the crafting process? ![]()
Hey A BBEG my group are about to meet again is a NE nymph druid. She lives outside metropolis, and is scheming to destroy the city (nature will/must fight artificial constructs like cities and towns) There's access to city, coast, ocean & Forrest, all temperate/cold. I would like her to have an AC that can roam about in the city alone without ppl taking special notice, and do therefore think dire rat or dog. Theese do on the other hand seem weak... Any good suggestions? On another note... Can an AC of a12th level druid with int 3 (the AC, not the druid...) gain leadership and have it's own followers? ![]()
My group had a nice debate I would like to get a few mire inputs too... Background: in a homebrew world each nation consist primarily of different humanoids. The players come from the human part, and are all human. Last session they ended up in the greenskin nation, where goblins and orcs are the norm, and humans are the primitive tribes attacking villages. Now the debate started (after the session) Howcome a human (or elf or any other race without cha penalty) entering an orc village are still considered more charismatic ? Should there be racial modifiers on social interaction between races (-2 for similar races, -4 to unsimilar races, -8 to completely different races; acces to reduce theese penalties be knowledge checks) The point is that a group of humans entering an orc village should interact according to orcish culture. What do you guys think? ![]()
Hello all My part of 5 lv.11chars are almost done with a mystery plot (yes, I managed to create a mystery for high-level chars...) Basically a rakhasha sorc killed the mayor in a small village, buried the body, killed a stranger, used sculpt corpse to make it look like the mayor, put the body of the stranger into the mayors bed, and made sure he himself became the new mayor... The chars know all of this now (except they still believe the BBEG is human)... My big problem now is: Why did the powerfull rakhasha usurp the power in a small village in the middle of no-where? ![]()
Hey all I need help building a group to oppose my party... All opponents must be greenskins (orcs, goblins etc...)
The party is:
I want the fight tone long, so the baddies should be focused on defense... Edit* Allowed books are: CRB, APG, UC, UM & UE defense... ![]()
I've build a barbarian at lv. 12 for my current game. I know it's pure fluff, with no mechanical effect, but his big dream is to become a paladin to war against evil outsiders.... Each time he tried to enroll in a paladin order he was deemed too chaotic... The dream still exist, so I need a deity with paladins who's main focus is combatting devils, deamons and demons... ![]()
Hey all One of my players is moving away, and therefore stops playing with us... He is running a cavalier, and I want to use his horse against the party. I arranged for the player's character to die next session, and testement his horse to the group. Now my plan is for an evil spirit to take over the horse and hit the chars from behind in a comming battle (the dead cavaliers player will controll the horse in this fight)

My 12th level barb got some money saved (the LN wizard help keeping them save, and investing them best...) And wish for a vest that can make him bigger and stronger. So: Vestment of Giant Form I
--- The requiements are something like CL 15 (needed casterlevel for giant form I) giant form I & mending Any ideas of price/cost? Edit, any 15 should be 13 ![]()
Hello all My players have some problems with a necromancers guild. The guild had a soup kitchen and a wreckers guild as front operations. To make a long story short, the players killed the wreckers guild leader, and turned the city against the kitchen. Due to less food for the poor crime has gone up
Now the necromancers guild needs a new front... Any ideas what that could be? Any plot hooks to get the chars interested again is morethan welcome... ![]()
Hey all I've been thinking about the easy access to magic and masterwork items, and thought up an alternative and more limited way to craft masterwork items, and thereby limiting magic items too... Basically the masterwork part of creating an item is removed, and a quality check is made upon finishing an item based on the crafters ability and training... Example: John want to craft a fullplate. A fullplate cost 1500 hp = 15000 so After 2 months john finishes his plate, and roll a qualitycheck. Johns total score in craft (armor) is 25, so there's a 25% chance the plate is mwk... This is not playtestet... Thoughts? ![]()

Hey all the Cleric in my group is mainly a healer, so I want him to have an item that buffs his healing... his main heals is channeling, so this is what I wan't to focus on... starting item: Phylactery of Positive Channeling however... I want him to be able to add his wisdom modifier to the channel result with the phylactery. How much would the item be worth with this little twist?? [spoiler=Background info] We have used a highpower statarray at char gen, so the char have a +8 wisdom modifier. also the price is only relevant to compare wealth to the other chars...)
