Good here, too.
As they travel, Azeban ponders what it means for the goblins' development as a tribe that they still executed the traitor. While it was certainly not out of character, nor displaying a level of bloodthirst absent from other civilizations (after all, humans would likely have done the same), Azeban can't help but wonder where their path will lead. Still, it would be good to remove the influence of the Fey and let them forge their own way.
Though he wouldn't be a part of it, Azeban has a sense of excitement for their future, as if standing on the cusp of an adventure. There'd be mistakes made and hardships and death, but also great opportunities for learning and growing. And after all, what else was life really for?
With a smile, he looks up from Alis's shoulder and rubs his face against hers.

I'm enjoying it very much! As a player I'm very into the goblins being redeemable (and play someone who feels that way in another game). I'm also very excited for the challenge that the Fey will present.

Azeban watches from above, impressed both with Alis and with Ollie. 'Remarkable.' he thinks to himself. The goblins, while still largely ruled by fear, were displaying more willingness to learn and change than he had ever seen. Azeban could imagine a time when they were able to live alongside others. Of course, it would require that the Fey were not taking advantage of them. It would also depend on what they did next. While watching the scene before him, Azeban begins to wonder what the Fey might even want with human blood - or animal for that matter.

Azeban watches curiously. "Be wary of trusting them." He tells Alis. "They may seem simple but their capacity for chaos and violence is rather... unique."
While Azeban wanted to like Ollie - and wanted to like most living things - he also had only recently reunited with Alis, and did not want to have to spend several years trying to locate her again. He wondered, not for the first time, what lengths he would go to to protect her.
A grin spreading across his face, he turns to look at Alis, "Perhaps you can offer them tattoos while we're here. Their disdain for the written words aside - incomprehensible as it may be - there is a chance that they would appreciate symbols which make them look more... ferocious."

Azeban stares at the path from atop Alis's shoulders, thinking for a moment before speaking aloud for the first time. "They are either supremely confident, or it is a trap. Please excuse me for a moment." He gives a short nod to the others before taking off from Alis's shoulders and flying up into the air, trying to get a better view of how far away the goblins are, and if there's anything suspicious lying in wait.

Man, y'all are quick to post!
Azeban continues munching his mango as the others in the inn get to know each other. While it seems like he's mostly content to eat and even play with his food, flying away for a few seconds before pouncing it, a trained eye notices that he's paying close attention to what everyone around him is saying. As Alis leaves to do her shopping, he lingers for a time. "I DO like new fruit." He responds telepathically to Alis. "Our new friends seem interesting. Perhaps more so, however, there is a farmer here who has suggested there is a goblin nearby, with some sort of plan. He has neglected to go into specifics, but it's something to be mindful of at least."

Azeban's eyes open long after he awakes, and when they finally do it's with a content and lazed expression on his face. With a long stretch he gives a quick look around for Alis, before noticing the sun's position in the sky. 'My... We did sleep late today, didn't we' He thinks to himself, remembering the easy dreams of hunting small bugs. Stretching once more, he spreads his wings and flies towards the tavern, coming in through a window to see multiple people with Alis. "Making friends are we?" he asks, his voice entering her mind without his mouth moving. Without waiting for much of an answer, he pounces a mango from the air and sinks his teeth into it.

Azeban nods, taking the cleric's words seriously. He still was not sure what it meant that the council would seek to hide information, nor what it meant that Ardonis had exposed it. Her vulnerability was laughable, and laugh Azeban did, but not happily. It was more bitter, and sounded gravelly. "Must have angered gods, her, to be punished in such way." As Ardonis gets to the truth of the matter, Azeban narrows his eyes once more at the priest, and a low growl escapes his throat. "Not a game, this. 'I don't think so.' She replies. 'But he is definitely hiding something. Be cautious.'
He grunts, trying to appear noncommittal, and as in combat, does his best to attack the problem sideways. "Avatars of Hades weak, them. God-touched woman, and multiple warriors? Why send army when one will do? Tell what else is there, you."

Azeban nods at the mention of the Sea Elves not being allowed to see the Kua Toa cities. He supposed it wouldn't help Ardonis to hear what had happened of the Elves who did venture in, so he kept silent on that, saying instead. "Must protect our own, us. Never know where are spies. Kills you filthy."
As they move further away from the church, Azeban relaxes somewhat, but frowns at the Priest's questions. Ligeia still hadn't told him the extent of their mission, simply that they needed to blend in for the time being. He watches her float alongside out of the corner of his eye. "Only just arrived..." Reluctantly he nods. "Looking for work, me. Planning to be here a while, is all."

Azeban stands still, unsure of how to react to the low bow. 'Certainly he doesn't think that I'm going to bow in response.' Azeban thinks. 'Kua-Toa do not bow to lesser species.' Eventually as the priest comes back up, Azeban gives a short nod and a non-committal grunt to show his disapproval of the gesture.
"Was invited, me." He mutters again. Looking at the priest, and feeling prodding from Ligeia, he forces himself to speak up a bit more. "This is pleasant city. Has similarities to Kua-Toa cities."

'Fascinating artwork!' Ligeia exclaims, moving around quickly to see how the perspective changes as she does.
'Yes, marvelous.' Azeban replies drily, already moving for the door. Walking in, Azeban is relieved to find a priest easily amidst the crowd. He makes a bee-line through the others (as Ligeia looks on shaking her head), and begins speaking to the man in a guttural bastardisation of language (Azeban knows Atlantean and Mercare, so whichever is most appropriate to the priest's race) "Was invited, me. New in town, is all. You give some guidance, you?"
'Really now.' Ligeia scolds. 'You know the language better than that.'
Without taking his eyes from the priest, Azeban fires back a reply. 'Never let the enemy know how much you know.'

Hmmm. I wasn't imagining that Ligeia was capable of actual speech, since she wouldn't have the proper, uh, biology.
As Azeban and Ligeia move towards the common room, he takes in the sights and sounds and feelings. the place seems to have a clear effect on him - When he picks up their food and attempts to head back to the room, Ligeia tells him that they must remain, they must blend in, and he doesn't argue. He simply sits down.
The lack of defiance she had come to expect puts Ligeia somewhat on edge. 'What is it?' Her mind hisses towards his. Without replying for a moment, he sort of gestures around the room, before responding. His tendency to chew with his mouth open and spit bits of food made Ligeia pleased that they could communicate telepathically.
'This place... It's strange. The style, the friendliness. It is both very much like home and very different.' He shakes his head. 'It is as if a dream, twisted.'
She stops sliding food underneath her towards her beaked mouth, and looks at him with an expression as close to pity as an octopus can get. 'It is another culture. They would think ours was twisted on theirs.'
'But ours is right!' he replies, adamantly.
With a sigh, she goes back to picking up small pieces of food with her tentacles. She remains silent for several minutes, and regards the architecture, and people herself, and her eyes seem to crinkle around the edges as if she were smiling. 'You are still so young.' She replies, and leaves it there.
After breakfast, the two head out for the church.

Azeban reads the letter slowly, and re-reads it when the knock about breakfast interrupts him. With a growl he returns to the letter, reading it a third time to make sure he didn't miss anything, while Ligeia perches on his shoulder and reads it as well.
'We must go!' she exclaims upon having finished it.
Azeban turns his head and stares at her incredulously. 'What? We are not trying to find a home. We are not looking for another god. We -'
'Exactly.' Ligeia responds. 'But it will make us look less suspicious if we pretend we are. And who knows, this cult may bear some investigation. What if they are planning something against our own church?'
Azeban starts to laugh at the notion that anything could be done to hurt Bliball, but his eyes betrayed a fear that it could still be very bad for his family back home, and he stops his laughter very quickly. 'Perhaps you are right. We will investigate after breakfast.'

Azeban glowers and reaches for his weapon at the knock on his door. The Octopi may have had no facial expression, or capacity for speech, but it didn't prevent Azeban from feeling her disappointment, even from several feet away. She floats up next to him, projecting her thoughts strongly. 'Is that necessary? This city is a wonder. Certainly no one here should be after us.'
Moving cautiously towards the door, he thinks back with a twinge of irritation. 'With respect, Divine One, no one should know we are here at all, and this city is filled with godless heathens. You have entrusted me to protect you. Please allow me to do so.'
Nodding with resignation, but with an air that suggested they would discuss it further another time, Ligeia moves her legs to thrust in a direction away from the door. As Azeban moves closer he sees that in their argument, a note has been slipper under the door. Picking it up cautiously, he examines the seal with a grunt, before moving to tear the envelope open with his teeth.
'What is that?' Ligeia asks, moving closer to examine the seal.
A smile spreads across Azeban's face, pleased to know more about something than she did. 'Nothing you should concern yourself with, Divine One. It is from the cult of Prismire. Foolish worshippers of a dead god, if indeed their god ever truly lived.'
Ligeia cocks her head at the seal, before turning her gaze towards Azeban. 'Why are you certain it didn't?'
Looking from the envelope, Azeban snorts. 'We both know that Blibaal is the only true god. Now, please, let me read it. I know you were hoping to stay here, but they may be after you...' Without waiting for any further discussion on the matter, he practically shreds the envelope to get to the note inside.

Okay, I was going to decide on all my round actions at once, but it's contingent on the result of this one.
Azeban glares at Sydney, but does not respond to her gesture. "I have one alternate idea." His voice growls deeply. Looking at the corpse of the guard, he kneels down next to it, and takes a few seconds to chant, before looking directly at its face. "Answer me and receive your eternal rest. Resist and I will transform you into an abomination for use against your friends and loved ones. Where are my possessions?"
Using "Voice of the Grave". I guess it gets a DC 14 Will Save to resist.

I swear, every time I went to post, the site was down.
The necromancer sneers at Sydney, as if questioning why the gods would possibly send this person to aid him. "If we cannot take out a small patrol, we have little hope of escape. I will not slink off into the night like an animal." He hisses, his eyes blazing fury. "I will walk from here proudly, wearing their skins."
DM: Raise the Dead does not specify that it requires a corpse to be able to summon a skeleton or zombie - am I correct in the assessment that I can do it even without either? Alternatively, is there one in the room that I would be able to use?

Azeban scowls at the woman he dreamed of, and turns his eyes towards Miles, measuring the man. "No." He growls. "This is not how I dreamt it." Shaking his head at Miles, he remarks, "Follow her if you want, my vision is otherwise." Stalking off in the opposite direction, Azeban begins to search for where his weapons, mask, and gear might be located.

Sorry, I'm still here, busy couple of weeks.

Azeban's eyes light up upon seeing Sydney. "The gods foretold your arrival." His voice rumbles deeply, even when pleased. As he is currently serving no purpose, Miles is fairly rapidly forgotten by the Orc, who follows after the manavir. Once he notices that she is leading them to an exit, he pauses. "Wait." He breathes death. "I would like to destroy this place, set it all aflame before we leave. At the very least, I must recover my belongings. I would not presume to know the dangers of another's eyes in my book of magicks."

Azeban lets out a low growl, and considers carrying the body himself for a minute, before shaking his head. "As you wish. So long as you'll be ready in case of any opposition." Without a second glance to either the Orc or the body, he begins walking, choosing a direction based on the position of the moon, and his own intuition.
Not sure if any of these would help me determine a direction in which I may be able to find my gear, but:
KnNature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

I'm having fun, and don't mind it at all being a slower game. I'd also prefer not to rush getting the party together, but I'm sure this is more challenging for you, so I'm fine either way!
